Stopped by for a lunch date, left almost sick. I had asked twice for a cup of coffee and was ignored, not very frustrated about that, but it would have been nice for a cup of joe since I was having a caffeine withdrawal. Food was good until my date said she found a hair in her food, we dug it out and it was so long she got sick to her stomach. I then looked at my plate and found two different hairs on my food. Since I try to be understanding I scooted them aside and finished eating. Food was alright, did I expect a Michelin star meal? Of course not. Did I expect cafeteria food? They simply could not have been better if they tried. Five stars if review was on service only! Food was not awesome. My mom's waffle was doughy and a little undercooked in the center. My dad's hash browns didn't have that golden brown crust and texture you expect with diner hash browns. Looking around the restaurant, other tables did, they just missed it for his, they were pale and sad looking. My grilled chicken was obviously out of a Tyson bag, but tasted fine. One thing on the menu that was very peculiar was adding melted cheese to your pie. Like why?? I do not want cheese on my pecan pie, thank you very much. Easy location with plenty of parking! Worst dining experience of our lives. Waitstaff was very rude, and there was a hair in my eggs and a giant fly inside the pancake syrup. The worst part is that when I showed the waitress the fly, she was very defensive about it and said "we're doing our best!" and didn't apologize. I asked for them to remove the pancakes from the bill because my daughter didn't want them after they were drizzled in fly syrup. They refused, but after she saw my face she told the manager who did remove the one item from the bill. Needless to say, we will not be returning. read more

I mean for what your paying for and where your at (Blue Ridge) this was as good as it was going to get. This reminds me of Waffle House, which to me isn't really the best option for me in general in terms of quality and vegan options. They didn't have alternatives for milk but the service was nice and awesome! It was pretty quiet for the day we went which was a Sunday after Thanksgiving. We were looking for a brunch place without a super long wait. Waffle King fit the bill. It was crowded, but we were seated in just a few minutes. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and got our orders quickly. We did have to wait a little bit for our food, but the cooks were working as fast as they could. I got an egg and cheese biscuit with a side of cheese grits. Everything tasted fresh and good. I took a bite of my daughter's Belgian waffle - it was so light and fluffy! I thought the food and everything was amazing! Fast service and our server was super attentive. The place was clean and fun. I will say, ALL YALL NEED TO BE NICER TO MY BOY IAN. We stopped in the Royal Waffle King today for a late breakfast. The five of us ordered a variety of food. My dad and I each got an omelet (Philly cheesesteak and sausage & cheese). The kids got a double cheeseburger with fries and a BLT with hash browns. My wife got the French toast. The server was curt, but the order came out fairly quickly. My wife and dad were disappointed with the lack of real butter and real maple syrup, but otherwise they thought their meals were okay. The kids especially liked their meals. Clean, Roomy, Variety, Fast No other really good breakfast in Blue Ridge. We had Breakfast Plate eggs, hash browns, homemade biscuits and slice of sugar ham. Perfect pick-me-up for day of shopping. Hubby had Belgian Waffle w/Strawberries and of course whipped cream. Great Coffee! Large additional porch for overflow. I can see why They can get busy with the good food served. This place is quite the delicacy. It is just normal breakfast food that tastes amazing. This was the second morning I came to eat here. The staff is great! They are always making sure to refill coffee and water. I had a plane waffle that I asked to be extra crispy and it was on first try. It was very tasty by itself. That Belgium waffle is just loads of fun. The coffee is normal. I asked for extra crispy hash brown and they came out amazing! Yesterday, my server was named Jake and he seemed to love his job and serving people. This morning I had a very kind woman. These people are amazing and caring. The food is very tasty. And I know these posts are usually about food but let me just talk about that male bathroom. Wow. It was the cleanest bathroom I have ever been in. Toilet and sink was porcelain white! Walking in, this just looked like a glorified Waffle House. A little more intensive of a menu. But as a Waffle House lover, I was certainly not complaining. I'd been here many years ago and it's a 180 degree turn in condition, service and food. It also has a 100 A rating on its last inspection, it definitely did not have that before. I had coffee, pie, my family has hamburger steak plate and waffle plate. Everyone enjoyed everything. Service was very attentive and quick. A really nice local diner. It's nothing too fancy, the food is good and the staff are wonderful. It's really small inside, so on busy mornings, you could be waiting for a while for a table. But if you get there on any other day, they greet you as soon as you come in, you can seat yourself, and it isn't long before the waitstaff has your utensils and drink orders. There's not that much of a variety of choices to eat, but of the choices they have, they do really well on. 30 years before it became the waffle king in a previous life it had been a Waffle House for about 25 years. The Waffle House folks saw to upkeep better than the Royal waffle folks do. That been said 55 year old booths and counter tops that have been used thus hard doesn't need me eating it. So. At first, for most of the time my family's been up here in The glorious land we call Georgia. It's been quite good. Food Quality:Good. Service:Okay But today, that changed. My Father ordered a Western Omelet and Mother ordered All the Way Hash-browns with Raisin Toast with 3 over medium eggs. My father asked for biscuits and gravy as a side as well as replacing the hash-browns with Home Fries. And I ordered A Belgian Waffle with strawberry preserves and whipped topping with a side of Sausage. We arrived at 11:30-ish. After Almost an hour of wait time. at 12:15. We asked ho much long and the waitress had said they j u s t started our ticket. And at 12:25 we got half our meal. I got my two sausage patties and the Other Two got their meals. My mother's Eggs were undercooked and some type of oil was floating atop them. My Father's Home-fries were practically just boiled potatoes. His Omelet was swimming in grease. My Waffle seemed partly raw. It had no crunch at all, and The preserves had the "wonderful" taste of cough syrup and the Whipped cream was obviously from a can. My mom was livid when they didn't bring her water and told her she would have to pay a dollar for bottled water. But I personally would t want the tap water! But can't they serve filtered water? Pancakes where thin, not light and fluffy at all and kind if burnt, eggs where running, had an omelette with cheese, all i can say the eggs were over powered with lard taste, the biscuits over cooked, silverware in baggings and it was dirty out of the bag, ordering orange juice you get a large or small, small is one bottle of orange juice, large is two bottles delivered to you. The coffee was bitter. they dont service water, you have to buy a bottle of water. We tried this place because it was fathers day and everywhere we wanted to try was full, so we gave it a shot. So much wrong here I would never try it again and wanted to warn you not to try it in the first place. read more

We showed up with high hopes. If the humble Waffle House can churn out such great food, imagine what a Waffle King could produce with the full support of his Waffle Kingdom. Unfortunately, our hopes were quickly deflated. The table was inexplicably very dusty, and the staff didn't acknowledge us. Eventually a neighboring table offered us their table rag so we could clear off the dust. Did the staff give them the rag, or did they know to bring their own? I can't be sure. I can't review the food, because we left after being ignored for some time. There was a very large wasp's nest on the floor next to our table. Well this is the first time I have had the opportunity to try one of these places. I would guess that the best way to describe this place is, a generic waffle House with absolutely no pizzazz.. I walked inside and it was freezing cold,all tables were not just dirty but down right nasty to tell the truth... They did not appear to be terribly busy yet everyone was running around as if they were completely lost. Anyhow, I decided to make the best of what I could tell was gonna be a bad situation. My waitress was very friendly and quite pretty as well... She was the only bright thing about my visit. Lol so... I put in my order from there version of a waffle house menu. It took about 30-35min to get my food. Oh boy... Lolol I'm not quite sure how my eggs got so butchered but they were slimy an just dreadful.. Bacon was tasty but way overcooked. Toast could have been used as a weapon. Deffinately not edible. Oh yeah, the hash browns were good but ummm they forgot my cheese an onions.. I tried not to complain very much since a friend of mine was paying for this slop on a plate... I can say though, my orange juice was spot on.. Excellent!!! Went in with no expectations and it turned out to be great. The inside was an exact copy of Waffle House, but the food was cooked perfectly and had less grease than the average Waffle House plate. The service was excellent; I didn't wait at all to put in my order or receive refills of coffee.
