Spent some time at this lovely coffee/ cafe on PCH. Really nice local up from the 'middle of the hub bub' at Civic Center and local. The furniture is new and beautiful. Several real couches, many overstuffed chairs. Tables to work at, two speeds of free WIFI and yes electricity ( unfortunately at the back where you will not find couches etc. They serve breakfast, pastries as well as sandwich meals until 8:pm. Oh and there is a simple courtyard outside with tables. I'll be back! See you there. read more

Cute couches and plenty of space for you to have a group of friends or even a meeting of some sort. Great list of different coffees and a delicious selection of pastries and cakes for you to compliment your coffee choice! I always order the Snickerdoodle Latte or the Salted Caramel Mocha (its a lot of locals favorite) best seating is either the middle of the shop with the long couch or the 2 red chairs against the windows closest to the historic 101. One thing that ive noticed the most is the music they play here. The remix of different R&B/hip hop is awesome, so kudos to whoever chose that type of music! :) Overall, great friendly staff and awesome service. My comrades and I would recommend the following: Thai Iced Tea, Turkey Cheese Avacado Panini, Parfait, Avacado Toast, and Chocolate Chip Cookie. They also have custom bagels but the bread was dry. I recently visited Brown Cup with a friend who lives near Oceanside. (Another friend of his makes cheesecakes for them.) I enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendliness of the owner-operators, and my drink. Atmosphere: Since there's a good amount of room, so it feels like you can have a good conversation without other people being right on top of you. (The place wasn't packed when I went, but the amount of space seems like it would be good even for busier times.) Even with the space, the decor/furniture and the relaxing music create a chill environment. A good amount of natural light comes in through the storefront (which I like), but it wasn't too much to take away the cozy feel of the place. Also, there is fruit-infused water available for free. :) Friendliness: I got to spend some time talking with Roger, the owner, and he was both laidback and kind. He took the time to come sit at our table and talk with us, and it sounds like he's been working extremely hard to get this cafe off the ground. He's also willing to learn; after I had asked if they had any games (like chess), he asked what games I thought it would be good to have around. His wife was also very friendly. Taste: I had a chai latte, and it really was delicious. Smooth, creamy, rich - yeah, it was good. I also tried some of the cheesecake that my friend's friend makes - this one was a chocolate stout cheesecake with caramel sauce. I'm not a huge cheesecake eater, but this was delicious too. Creamy, sweet (but not overwhelmingly), and...tangy? I don't know, but it wasn't "one note". I may not be in that area again soon, but I hope this place really does well. They're off too a good start and seem to have the work ethic to keep moving forward! read more

Great vibe. New owners have done a nice job making a few changes. I work on my laptop at little coffee places around Oceanside a few days a week. This location has some slightly bigger tables to spread out some paperwork. And here is a novelty - the tables legs are all the same size! So many places I go for a cup have these annoying tables that you need to stuff paper under one leg just to type. I know that is a small detail, but I'm tired of turning tables in circles to get them to settle. In addition to the tables, there are also kick-back low leather lounge chairs or a large sofa for a nice place to read a book or chat with friends. There is good WiFi and a chill vibe here. High ceilings keep the noise level reasonable even when it is crowded. My two long-time favorites have been Pier View Coffee and Revolution Roasters. I have now added "The Brown Cup" to round out the top three. One nice thing to remember, The Brown Cup has good climate control. So if it is a bit too hot out, or a bit cold out - this is a good place to hunker down for a while. The food menu now has the option of getting sandwiches wrapped in rice-paper. I love is option as I am not a big bread fan (middle aged guy who's gut knows better now). So there are tasty fresh sandwiches that can be on bread or wrapped like giant spring rolls. The owners are very friendly. They make you feel good about supporting their business. Drop in to check it out sometime. I think you will like it. read more

We walked into the cafe looking for a new place for coffee and a little something to eat. We were pleasantly surprised by the light and clean atmosphere and the friendly service. I ended up ordering a green smoothie and tried their gluten free carrot cake muffin/cupcake. I was wowed! First, the smoothie was well balanced and flavorful. The carrot cake was moist, but what really blew me away was the light and airy frosting-not too heavy, as carrot cake frostings can be. I think it's the best frosting I've ever had! What a great find in Oceanside. This super comfy, clean, and very attractive coffeehouse sits right on 101 in a newer building. I'd expected it to feel cold and industrial, but just the opposite. All kinds of very comfortable seating options, low music playing in the background. It's a very serene setting. My soy latte was just the way I like it as was my husband's herbal tea. Roger is the owner, and he's organized a very nice menu of baked yummies, sandwiches, salads, and a copious menu of coffee drinks. He and the lady who works for him are both supremely gracious hosts. The only reason this is not a 5 star is that I have not tried any food. That will be for the next visit! We drove from downtown San Diego to try it, and it was worth the drive. If you're looking for the best place to study in Oceanside are this is it. This place has the best prices, atmosphere, customer service, WiFi and seating. First the prices: large fresh fruit cups for $3, large fresh squeezed OJ for $3, large parfaits for $4.50. Coffee drinks and lattes are between $2-5 and are delicious. Their prices are honestly half the price of other places but with better quality. The WiFi is ALWAYS perfect. Seating has areas for groups and individual quieter areas all with comfy chairs couches and ample table space. The temperature and music are also always at comfortable levels. I come on the weekends and during the week for my online schooling and this place is honestly a gem. The people who own the coffee shop are the only ones who work here and they are so kind and hospitable. It's always mellow in here and I wish more people knew about this place because it's truly deserving of more traffic. There are several great things about this spot. First of all, they're open later than many of the other local coffee shops in the area so it's perfect for a late afternoon pick me up. I love the lounge feel with the comfy couches and different types of seating. It's great for a small casual meeting or to curl up with a good book.
