The strawberry cream muffin tasted like a super dense croissant muffin, not what was expected no cream but the pop tart and mini cake were really good. I ordered a lavender latte and it was just OK. 2nd visit I ordered the snicker doodle iced latte but then I saw a guy get a cute pink latte I asked what it was and the girls told me it was their seasonal strawberry shortcake latte. It looked so cute and yummy so I kindly asked if my order could be changed, but had they started my order than just forget about it. They said no problem we can change it. I got the strawberry shortcake latte and it looked nothing like his. I mentioned that to the girl, but she said it was the same drink so I went on with my day. Pilates princess matcha was absolutely amazing, you need to get it even if you hate matcha. Had excellent signature coffee drinks and open-faced toasts under an overcast sky that made the moment even sweeter. The Candy Orange Latte was nice and smooth. Although I thought it would be overly sweet but it was just right. The Chagaccino was a unique one. Chaga mushroom with cinnamon, vanilla and monk fruit. A very tasty interesting coffee. The Honey Matcha was a favorite too. Light, sweet and smooth. We had two toasts to share and they were delicious and satisfyingly healthy. The Avo Tomato Toast, a good amount of avocado mash, sweet cherry tomatoes, micro greens. The Egg Avo Toast another amazing combination toast of avocado mash and egg. The matcha was really good. Amazing taste, not sweet. I got the honey matcha with oat milk. It's delicious. It is a bit more on the pricey side but at least it's good :) The cream is really good; definitely freshly made. I also got an orange creamsicle for my daughter. It's good too. But I've been obsessed with matcha so I got the honey bee matcha but it wasn't sweet at all, which is my preference. I also got the berry Nutella toast and the bread was a little too hard on my opinion. It wasn't sweet enough for me but you might like it. It had raspberries on it, but the menu didn't specify what kind of berries so I'll ask next time, that one's on me. The place was very cute though. read more

I was delighted to hear we had a new High Tide Coffee location opening in Oceanside and that I would no longer have to drive to San Clemente when I had the craving. This location is as exceptional as their others and I love that it's inside Rising Co. (Co-op space for brands, events, coffee, etc). While parking is tight in their lot, it's quite easy to find street parking. They do have a few indoor tables, but their outdoor seating is cute with very shady umbrellas! The service here is exceptional as well as all of the baristas greet you and when a barista takes your order they are just very kind and ask all of the questions to make your order perfect. We barely ever have to wait for our coffee, we don't even have enough time to browse one of the stores as our coffees are usually ready. I recently had the iced lavender honey latte and my husband had the snickerdoodle latte. I will say that once I tried his snickerdoodle latte, I immediately regretted my order. Luckily, my iced lavender honey latte was still delicious and had a great balance between sweetness and coffee, so no regret was necessary. The snickerdoodle latte is very sweet but we both agree that it's completely worth it! They do offer seasonal drinks too and honestly those sound like fantastic options. Oceanside California is known for its cafés and it looks like we've got another gem in the rough now opened on S Coast Hwy. High Tide Coffee Co is no opened to the community and they offer a nice variance to the coffee scene in the area. High Tide Coffee Co is located within the RISING CO building complex just off of S Coast Hwy. So make sure you look for that signage. They've got a shared parking lot in the front and street parking available on both side streets. This is good for now, but it MAY pose an issue during busy hours. It's a good thing they are also on DoorDash and take pre-orders online & via call-in. The entire vibe is for their branding is cute and inviting. Their interior is very trendy-earthy and colorful. But one shortcoming is that they have minimal seating options inside. There are only 3 tables. Luckily, their exterior seating has more benches and group-seating options. Their service is fast, friendly, warm and inviting. I love their merchandising with the cute logos. Their menu consists of staple classics like: cold brew, espresso, americano, latté, macchiato, cortado, cappuccino, and mocha. They also have specialty options like: lavender honey, rose cardamom, snickerdoodle, candy orange mocha, chachaccino, matcha chaga, and moon milk. They also have a few teas and hot cocoa. For foods, they have some solid basics like: breakfast burrito, acai bowls, avocado toast, assorted pastries and granola & chia parfait. I especially appreciate that many of their pastries are vegan & gluten-free. I enjoyed my seasonal special drink, the Espresso Paloma and it was a tasty variant to the typical coffee drink. I also enjoyed my snickerdoodle latté. I'd like to make a small note to pet owners: Although there's a notice that they DO NOT ALLOW PETS (only service animals) - this is not strictly enforced : thank goodness. This time it's a new coffee shop, which is very exciting! I've been to High Tide in San Clemente before and their coffee is usually great. It's exciting to have a new roaster/café in town. Today I just sampled their brewed coffee and it was so tasty that I got a cup. The specialty drinks look really good though. I know I've had the snickerdoodle latte at previous locations. I gave High Tide Coffee a chance. They're a "speciality" coffee shop which I prefer over Starbucks, Dutch Bros, Coffee Bean and any of those fast food coffee spots. I've been in the coffee world for several years now including customer service and I was disappointed with the customer service I received from the barista and the pour over I ordered. The barista who took my order seemed very unenthused and had a dead pan face and monotone sound, not to mention when I asked about their roasts and if they had pour overs or only drip they talked to me as if I was an idiot without actually giving me information about the process and notes of coffee. They're offered me a decaf or dark roast which is strange to have a decaf pour over but fine, so I went with the dark roast which is an Ethiopian coffee which I generally enjoy but not top of them taking longer than normal for a pour over, say about 15 minutes, the pour over that was called out for me was just moved to the serving counter for me to pick up. I noticed it had some floating particles that looked like dust, and it wasn't the correct temperature it should've been for just being completed. It was warm, not even hot, and it tasted completely watered down. I could see a layer of water on top of the coffee, that's how watered down it was. I gave it a few sips, giving them the benefit of the doubt and it was terrible. It tasted like watered down drip coffee. It was definitely a dark roast, but I didn't get any notes aside from burnt beans and warm water. I was very disappointed. I shouldn't have expected much given they're in a gentrified location and made to look very "basic" and "hip" but I truly expected more from them given how many people have been ranting and raving about how good their coffee is. Also, not that it adds anything more or less but their bathroom has no toilet seat covers or paper towels and wasn't the cleanest. They were also not very busy or had an overwhelming about of customers. Just disappointed. I will not be back. read more
