Went here for an açaí bowl. Cute place and looked like they were expanding. It wasn't too busy when we went so didn't take long to get it. I love açaí bowls and am always trying them at different places. This one didn't disappoint. We were on our way to the beach so what better way to enjoy a tasty açaí bowl especially when it's so close to the beach. It was so fresh and good! There are some places that I don't care for the açaí. But this place was excellent! I will be back when I'm in town. read more

Always a solid coffee stop on our way to the beach or movies. Really easy to walk in and order as there isn't usually a long line. Drinks are made quickly too. I always enjoy my coffee but sometimes they are a bit too bitter. Just hit or miss like any other coffee shop. I typically do love the white chocolate mocha or raspberry mocha. Love the location of the cafe too since it's great to just relax at any table with some views (mostly people watching). Great vibes all around. read more

After stopping by to grab donuts, I was recommended to try this spot out. I tried out their banana brulee latte. It was pretty busy when I came by here, probably a lot of people coming for the parade. The latte was pretty alright. I didn't get as heavy of a banana or brulee flavor with my latte, though. There is paid parking in a garage nearby. It isn't too pricey. I did visit here during a parade so most of the streets were blocked off, and there was no paring available. The staff here was friendly, and I got read more

This place is just very meh. Not the best coffee, not the worst, just meh. The food is cheap, Costco bulk frozen stuff put together. And I get it - there's typically only 1-2 people working. So for early morning boat excursions that are booked by people this place is good for them & an excellent location for these guys. But there's so many better coffee options in Oside.. read more

Very nice historical blue house that add charm to the downtown Oceanside vibe. Good capuccino although I found a bit too pricey. Nice pictures of old photos hanging in the walls. I like that a lot in many establishments in Oceanside. Cool touch of history while drinking coffee. Good seating and spacious. Will go back and try some pastries next time. read more

Went in for a medium iced gingerbread latte with oat milk $8 and change Girl behind the counter was nice, and my coffee came fast. They have a ramp for wheelchairs and strollers, nice outdoor seating as well as indoor seating with plenty of diversity in lighting. Coffee was okay, I can't stand a large thats.iced but is luke warm . Not even ice in the initial pour over. For $8 it was just okay, won't be running to this spot with excitement anytime soon. Tried this place for lunch the other day, glad we did. Just what I was looking for too. I had a veggie sandwich on sourdough, opted out of the sprouts. Afterwords though, I thought I should have kept them. Got a kombucha, came with a bag of chips, left satisfied. I'd come here again for sure. read more

Oh my goodness. Tell me how our family has been vacationing in Oceanside for many years and we now only found this DELICIOUS gem!? To my shame, I've walked past Pier View so often, not even giving it a thought of consideration, as I judged the place by its exterior alone. It just didn't look vibey enough. That all changed on our most recent visit...After walking a couple miles to a completely different coffee shop, hubs and I found it closed. Bummer. The next closest place was Pier View. I hesitated. But I was desperate for a pick-me-up. We walked inside. "Oh wow, it's so spacious in here. And the girls working here look... cool...", I thought. We placed an order for a couple featured drinks and a lunch sandwich. Let me tell you. Everything was PHENOMENAL. It was SO GOOD we came back the following morning and brought the rest of our family to try our exciting find. Same amazing quality coffee, plus another amazing sandwich (a breakfast one this time). I literally cannot wait to go back to Oceanside because of this place. read more

This mid-sized and local coffee shop was cozy inside and every table was taken since it was cold and rainy outside. There was quite a wait before you could order and while you wait for your drink. Nontheless, this coffee spot was very needed and we were able to share a caramel latte ice blended. I was surprised to find out no milk was a part of the drink when I tried asking to substitute the milk. It tasted pretty standard and alright, nothing too out of ordinary. For $6.50, I think it's more overpriced than I'd like since the coffee wasn't also strong. Maybe other drinks would be a better choice. The solo bathroom requires a code. Didn't stay here too long as we just needed a quick coffee stop. read more

Ambience is amazing. The open air, window seating was worth it all. I wanted a smoothie & ended up with the vegan sandwich which was delicious & ever so fresh. Service was decent. It would have been nice to see & fee more friendly faces (service related) but I'm not complaining. The food came out perfect & was delicious. The Pineapple Pete Kombucha was tasty. I'd definitely go back & try out the smoothies. Although I don't drink coffee, they are well know for their coffee. I ate the sandwich too quickly & forgot to take a picture lol. Coffee great as expected. It had been a few years since being here, but it didn't disappoint. The cinnamon role croissant was the best thing I have had this week of coffee shops and pastries in Oceanside. Staff was friendly and quick. Thanks! read more

Coming here on a Saturday morning is a must for me before a mindful walk. Staff is so friendly, locals love to come with their pets, and the ambiance is so welcoming. Everyone says good morning, and they feel it too when they come here. It's been a while since I've been here. I usually get a crème brûlée iced latte, which is my regular favorite. But they have GREAT SEASONAL DRINKS! They are a must! You must try at least once. For this visit I got a churro mocha and it was 10/10!! So good!! read more

Came to the city to enjoy a nice at day beach and my boyfriend really wanted coffee so we walked to this coffee shop. Unfortunately, we had a very uncomfortable experience here. From the moment we walked in, the employee assisting us was rude and unhelpful. While making my boyfriend's drink, we noticed the employee lift the cup upward toward her face. She then looked over her shoulder, seemingly checking to see if anyone was watching, before putting the lid on the drink and handing it to him. We did not actually see what happened to the drink, so I cannot say for certain that it was tampered with, but the behavior was concerning enough that my boyfriend did not feel comfortable drinking it. I asked another employee if his drink could be remade, and she agreed to do so. However, there was no apology or acknowledgment of why we were uncomfortable with the original drink. I understand that we cannot prove what happened, which is why I am not making a definitive accusation. But as a customer, having an employee behave this way while preparing a drink is extremely concerning. I strongly encourage management to review the situation and any available security footage. Customers should be able to trust that their food and beverages are being handled safely and professionally. read more

Such a beautiful building to have a coffee shop in! Service was nice and the place was clean. They have different types of lattes and seasonal lattes like the Nutty Irishman latte for March. I ordered that one but I wasn't a fan of it. My husband ordered a vanilla latte and he liked it. It's a nice coffee shop to hang out and chat with family and friends. I would come back to try other drinks. read more

I've been coming to Pier View Coffee Company for 2 years now. Ever since I've moved to Oceanside CA, I've been scouting out nearby cafés that will allow me to just relax, do some online work, get some coffee and a snack and there's even ice-cream for when I want a sweet-treat. Pier View Coffee Company appears to be a town favorite. I see many local patrons here frequently. Most customers are enjoying one of their various tasty pastries, sipping on some coffee or tea and surfing online or even reading one of the books that are provided in the free collection provided. The decor is truly unique and is filled with antique Oceanside trademark surfboards and wall murals. The huge black & white photo-art gives so much character. The bathroom is clean; probably one of the cleanest in the downtown area and that's because they have a key-lock on it and it is regularly maintained by staff. Their prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic too. I like to get a LIQUID LUNCH smoothie for extra protein and a filling treat. I love their breakfast paninis; try the O'Sider. There's a nice view of a busy intersection, which is perfect for people-watching. But the only quirk to being located on a busy street corner is that it can occasionally get noisy and distracting (may not be the best place to study). Overall, Pier View Coffee Company is a great little spot to relax and feed your belly! read more

I can't believe it's been over 16 years since I wrote my review for Pier View Coffee! I recently stopped by here with my husband and it's still the same as I remembered it...although I completely forgot I came here every time I drove from Irvine and bought a coffee and sandwich! Gah, I feel old...I can't even tell you what I ordered or if the sandwich I bought is still on their menu. However I still remember that sadness I carried with me when I drove from Orange County, only for it to dissipate when the friendly barista took my order and helped me forget about the issues I was having in grad school. It was nice to get a macchiato and just sit there and collect my thoughts, even though at the time I was at a crossroads with where I was at in life (I was only 24-25!). It's probably due to my multiple stop ins here that I have such a fondness for this place. Different faces work here now, but the vibe is still the same and the coffee drinks are still delicious. I am so glad they're still around as so many places I used to love in Oceanside have closed. It was nice introducing my husband to this place and even he was a fan of their lattes! We'll definitely stop by again whenever we are in town. Anyway, thanks, Pier View Coffee for the memories and as long as you keep your doors open, I'll continue to patronize you! read more

Bustling cafe with breakfast offerings. Pretty pricey if you get a coffee and sandwich but also a solid meal. Panini is better than the breakfast sandwich if I had to choose one. Great local spot. Good selection of drinks and breakfast items. The queue moved quickly and the staff worked efficiently.

The coffee is neutral, nothing special, but not bad. I sat at the table with stools by the window, the entire table was sticky, and it transferred to my hands and belongings. It was kind of gross. The atmosphere is nice, and the view is pretty. The place itself is pretty cozy. The woman who took our order was pretty rude, and just kept repeating herself when my husband asked a question. She had a major attitude. I had no idea what her deal was, but I try to give benefit of the doubt maybe she was having a long day? she had brown hair with blonde chunks. Overall not bad, I'd come again to relax and read, but maybe bring some wipes for my table. read more

Went on a Monday morning. People ahead of us just finished ordering. We ordered 2 coffees: An Americano and a cold brew. I tried their iced matcha when I came to Oceanside for a beach day. I got unsweetened matcha with almond milk. It was pretty good, although the matcha flavor wasn't super strong. They always have such fun seasonal options and their breakfast options are actually on the more filling side for coffee shop food. Such a cute, charming little building. I often stop here on my way to spectating athletic events on the beach. Okay for shy dogs.
