A classic dive bar. Pool table, loud rock & punk music blaring, bar staff calls customers by their names, $7.50 for a Stella but they give you a free bottle of water if you asked for it. A fun locals place. I love the fact that they can't be bothered to take down the Christmas decorations. Maybe they believe that everyday is Christmas. Either way, this place has an eclectic mix of all kinds of stuff. It is definitely a locals bar but if you mind yourself, tourist are welcomed. read more

I guess it's sold a few times over the last few years and wow, not the same, pretty trash and not beachy ghetto just regular trash. The service or "help" was less than par....and ambience could be better considering the tender was unfriendly, I'll be back in a few weeks and will leave another review. read more

Found this little dive bar while we were we checking out Dia De Los Muertos. Shasta was our bartender and super friendly and accommodating with a smile! They didn't have a fruity cidar on tap but she had me try something she thought I would like... and I really did enjoy it! It was pretty packed when we walked in yet were able to score a end seat at the bar. Looking around, they had a ton of stickers and then playing the game on multiple tvs. The bathrooms were clean and they had 2 pool tables to the left of the bar and seating to the right of the bar. We stayed for one drink and as we were leaving it was starting to get busier as the Raider game was on. Would definitely come back if in the area. read more

Nothing says Southern California more than good ol Pier View Pub! If you haven't been here then your missing out! Tons of beers on tap, pool tables and other games, great locals and the bartender Dewey was seriously the best bartender I've ever seen, he held down the whole place by himself and never stopped smiling. We played connect four against him while he was working and still beat us! Lol Beer prices range from $2 beers to $10 beers but they got a cool tv menu with prices and a big cocktail menu with prices and ingredients so it's easy. This bar is exactly what we look for, it's not too yuppi but not too yucky. Just divey enough to feel hometownish but your not going to get beat up. We will definitely be back! read more

For a dive bar in the middle of Construction by the pier in O'Side Cali it is not too bad. A bit disappointed that it is a beer only bar with a side of a few things like bloody Mary's and liquid fire.. A bottle of Corona is about $6.00 Not bad for the area. I came in to check out the new remodel and have a beer at one of my favorite hometown bars today. Being excited to stop in since it's been a while, I'm mind blown with what they've done to the place. Not a fan honestly. It's not a cozy dive beach bar anymore unfortunately...not a sandy toes, slippers and swim suit top summer bar anymore, no longer a place some used to call home.. it's a very a very bright atmosphere almost like having lunch in a school cafeteria... there used to be a little wooden door window to the right and they closed it up. There's cameras covering the entire ceiling.. it's definitely a gentrification vibe in there. This is a locals bar it is very sad they tore all of it out,not for the better either. I met up with Mike prior to our dinner. Street and lot parking are avail and free 2 hour parking until 6p, and thereafter, free. It was mid week and parking was readily avail. Not to be conceited, but I'm not a "dive bar" kinda girl. Never really been into these types of bars per se so stepping inside this bar in business attire was really uncomfortable to begin with. As I walked in, there were peanut shells all over the floor and a couple dogs walking around. As I grabbed a bar stool, a dog comes up and literally hops up and steals my chair - I KID YOU NOT! We attempted to take a pic, but I don't think the dog liked pics. I have to say, though, the bartenders here are nice and personable. This place has free peanuts, HH specials (beer and pitchers), daily specials, a pool table, several TVs at the bar, and a good amount of tables/seating. It's located right on the corner of Pier View Way next to the liquor store and barber shop and across from the coffee shop. Thanks Mike for introducing me into your "dive bar" ways, but unfortunately, it's not my sty. I love this place. Large in part because of the service I get. I legitimately have came here because of Kylie. She's an integral part of this place's atmosphere for me. I never had to ask for anything or even a conversation. She makes you feel important. With as many places in Oceanside you can choose from, you come back where you matter. She makes us feel like we do. I love the environment, but am most grateful for how great she makes me feel. I've spent hundreds here and will continue too so long as we have employees like her around and a chill place like this. read more

Walked in on a Saturday night at 850pm. Went to the bar and the gal says," sorry already served last call". Strange but ok, then asked if we could use the restroom, being that we just walked a bit to get there. bartenders reply, " I am sorry, restrooms are for guests only" WHAT? then she says," I am sorry, I am just doing what I am told" obviously we left, another couple was leaving and said they could not believe what she just said. Oh well, makes you wonder why a bar is closed by 9 pm on a summer Saturday night. read more

other people's drinks were put on my tab when I was charged. I waited for them to fix it and was nice about it and they "fixed it" never giving me the new receipt to sign off. I checked my bank statement a few days later and they gave them themselves a 4$ tip for my 1 beer. Bubs wasn't the nicest bar in Oceanside but at least I didn't get robbed. New ownership needs to step up. read more

Stopped in right around 5 or before. Brittany was our bartender. I think she was eager to leave, because even though she repeated our drinks, she forgot them. We ordered two Mexican candy shots and two beers. She even repeated the order but only gave us beer and walked away. She did say they were shift changing but she wouldn't even look at us for me to even ask her for two shots. Two others came in but they didn't acknowledge anyone. Honestly, they all spent more time hugging some woman at the bar (she looked like a beautiful Hawaiian woman) and spent more time specifically talking to her. We wait ten mins in hopes she'd give us her attention, or anyone for that matter. We won't be back. Update: I will give it three stars instead of two since the owner so kindly reached out to me. I hope for a better experience if we ever go back in there. read more

Arrived at 9pm on Sunday 9/24/2023. As we walked in, we were immediately told that they're closed and prompted to leave. Btw--their door was propped wide open. Our group was very confused, as we did not see a sign mentioning that they were closed for a private event or occasion. Very untraditional of a pub to close early and reject business during the best hours. Yelp is saying that their hours are from 10am-9pm. Hours should be updated to avoid confusion! We went to Frankie's and Haunted Head instead. 10/10 would suggest going to those places instead. I recommend y'all go there if y'all need a drink past 9pm on a weekend!! read more

Typical dive bar! However they seem to be a little bit better for one they have quite a few different beers on tap! 2 pool tables and the best thing about this place they had a sound guy tonight who actually seemed to care about his job and try to make the bands sound as best as they could! The bar service though wasn't soo great it took a little too long to get our drinks. With that said It's not very often that I visit the Oceanside bar scene but this seems like its one of the better dives down here plus they have live music and that's what's good! Might be back someday if we have another show here! read more

I miss Cabo grill and Fire water. Pitchers of PBR are 14 dollars here. They are 8 dollars at haunted head. I feel like they just pour water on the ground in the men's bathroom to make it seem like a dive bar. However, these are not dive bar prices. Without competition they are capitalizing. The bar tender has to use company money just to play music on the jukebox to bring people in. Oceanside isn't the same. The bartenders are great!!! however, Oceanside gentrification is effecting this establishment. So, take it or leave it I'll just say that. read more

My friends and I came here last week to have an after-dinner drink. While the prices here are pretty much the same as any other pub, one thing stood out for me - dog owners were bringing their pooches inside. Never before have I seen dogs brought inside a dive bar! This place is full of drunk people...hahaha! Seriously though, I probably shouldn't be in here on a Sunday. It's poppin' though. The pool tables have been put to use. The bumpers on them tell stories of aggressive shooters and leaners. My friend Sarah work here and does a good job of whatever it is bartenders do. Oh, yeah. There's roasted penuts on the counters, therefore shells on the ground. I'm a big fan of stickers so this place really does it for me. It's one of Oceanside's local dive bar, also frequented by Marines. It's a chill spot, with 2 pool tables and most of the time good music. Drinks are cheap plus there's free peanuts. Good deal. Okay, it's a dive, I get it, but sometimes I have to wonder what's going on here. They have a good bar and great bartenders. The bouncers are a bit obnoxious, but that can happen. Clean-ish bathrooms, maybe better than you'd expect, maybe not, depends on the night. Pool tables, peanuts, booze, and live music is what you'd expect. Except it's not. Sometimes, you really have to wonder who chooses the bands and artists that perform here. It's an eclectic group to be sure, and some of them are so ridiculous you wonder if they play because they're cheap/free/friends of the employees. It's an okay place to hang. Again, not terribly amazing, but if you hit the live music jackpot, it's a great dive. If not, drink up, shut up, or just keep on walking. read more
