Great little speakeasy to get some drinks before or after grabbing sushi next door!

First of all, kudos to the bartender--I forgot her name, but she was incredibly generous and kind. She accidentally forgot my drink and kept apologizing, but I told her it was totally fine since we had a large party. To make up for it, she gave me two shots instead of one and even added a big discount. The ambiance of this place is unique and very artsy. If you're looking for a cool, one-of-a-kind spot to hang out, this is it. There's so much attention to detail throughout--even the restroom door is thoughtfully designed with a modern, creative touch. My friend ordered a variety of cocktails, and everyone enjoyed them. The food was great as well. I ordered the hummus plate, and it was the best I've ever had--so fresh and served in a generous portion. My friends tried the pizza and a few other items from the menu, and everything got a thumbs up. If you're in the area looking for a cool place to hang out or planning a party, this is the spot. I'll definitely be back again soon.

First off, they have a "wait to be seated" sign at their entrance, but it took a while to get anyone to seat us. When we were inside, we noticed there was another entrance and people were just walking in, so "waiting to be seated" was just an option? We ordered a beer and seltzer and it took easily 10-15 minutes to get our drinks. Drinks that were in cans by the way. Music was good, DJs were good, but the whole vibe of the place is kinda everywhere. This lighting in this place needs to be more dimmed. DJs are spinning right in the middle of the room, and there's a clothes rack just chilling against the wall. The baristas are way in the back, and you can't really tell who works there. It took equally as long to get the check as it did to get my drinks. We only had 1 round of drinks. I dunno, waiting for canned drinks just threw me off. I can't imagine how much longer it would have taken to get a mixed cocktail. I only saw one guy mixing drinks and a bunch of women just hanging around. I'm assuming workers that look like they don't work there.

Located in the SeaBird Resort in downtown Oceanside right across from the beach, Piper has that classy beachside aesthetic with light grey and sand wood colors. They have a nice outside area for drinks and lounging, but we ate inside. We had a reservation for a Saturday evening and when we arrived, we were sat right away. Our party of 4 started off with the Prager Bros bread & whipped butter with sea salt and the Grilled Peaches appetizer. The grilled peaches came with burrata cheese and I really liked the two flavors and consistencies together. A friend got the lobster & coconut soup, whipped smoked eggplant, and I had the house-made spaghetti and meatball. It was a beef meatball My other friend got the Steak frites which was grilled prime NY Steak with bone marrow, chimichurri and of course french fries. Also good.

The restaurant was not very busy as I saw some open tables. Our waiter really was the worst. He seemed inattentive and then borderline rude when we asked to order. We sat down and got our food 2 hours later. Then we sat around for another hour waiting for our dessert/coffees and finally the check. A total time of 3 hours for dinner and the restaurant itself was flashing lights to indicate it was closing. You would think that would mean they hurried to get us settled out. Nope, the employees were just talking to each other and starting to close down...and apparently forgot about us. Some of our party started to leave because it was way too long to wait. The food was overall fine. Some plates were good and some were lackluster. The decor was sophisticated and obviously going for an upscale vibe. The bill finally came after we asked multiple times and it totaled over $1,000 and it really was dissatisfying. I would recommend everyone take their business elsewhere. There are better spots to blow some cash.

The beer and drink selection alone is worth the visit--tons of options whether you're keeping it casual or trying something new. Food-wise... the Bacon Mac N Cheese was next level. Rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want it to be. My buddy (who was literally about to move out of town) went with the burger--and let's just say he picked the right "last meal" in Oceanside. What really stood out though was the service. Top of the line from start to finish. Big shoutout to Mitch--young guy, super personable, clearly takes pride in what he does. He was everywhere in the best way, checking in on tables, making people feel taken care of. Honestly, the way he moves, he should be serving--he's got that natural touch. Great food, great drinks, great people. One of those nights that just hits right. I'll definitely be back.

We moved chairs around and grabbed blankets and got it worked out without any help from staff. Porkbelly appetizer was overcooked and lacked anything special that made it memorable. The pork chop was also overcooked and the grits were very thick.. cheesy but not creamy. The short ribs were dry.... Strange for braised meat and not enough sauce. The sauce was really good as were the mashed potatoes and carrots. The burger was excellent. Really juicy with a great bun. The atmosphere is very cool and inviting. I would return for burgers and to try the fried chicken. It looked awesome coming out of the kitchen. The burger was excellent.

One of the things that really stood out was their incredible selection of vegetarian and vegan options. We usually never see this many vegan/vegetarian sushi rolls on a menu, so it was such a pleasant surprise. We ordered the Vegan OG (our absolute favorite!), the Garden Delight, a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, and the Vegetarian Fried Rice--which was delicious and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was vibrant and fun, with unique decor that made the dining experience feel lively and memorable. If you're vegetarian or vegan and love sushi, this place is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!

If you haven't tried Harney in Oceanside ... you're missing out…read more As pescatarians and self-dubbed "sushi aficionados," my wife and I can honestly say their sushi is some of the best. It's harmonious, it's fresh, it's everything you want sushi to be. The sashimi is also to die for ... and every time we've dined here, we've consistently had a five star experience. The service is also extremely attentive and the food seems to come out very quickly, but not rushed, just as delicate as ever! There are so many wonderful menu options to choose from, it's really hard to limit yourself to just one roll or entree! It's best to approach this restaurant "family style," so everyone can share a bit of everything. The unlawful albacore sashimi was one of my favorites of the evening, along with a modest, but deliciously powerful cucumber salad! The Miso Harney is a CLASSIC, but the Culichi Wa is where it's at! Don't sleep on the Orange Crush roll, the eel hand rolls, or the salmon kama starter either! MAJOR win points for their expansive vegan sushi section, which we branched out to tonight for the first time ... and were not disappointed with the Vegan O-Sider roll! It was really good and unique! This place is great for solo, dates, or small groups. There's something for everyone, even non-fish people. Parking in the "beach city" area can be tricky, so give yourself some time to find a good spot! Service was really really friendly and attentive. From the first touch point at the host stand, to the bartender, to the server. Harney also seems to have a full bar, as opposed to some Japanese restaurants that only offer sake and a limited selection of Japanese beers. If Sake is your thing though, they do have some great options both filtered and unfiltered. Will definitely keep coming back! ... Oh, and they have a rewards program so be sure to sign up!

I have no idea why it's called Haig's but it's a short order food honeyhole. It's hard to find a breakfast that's got this much value. Bacon, eggs, sausage, english muffin, pancakes for $8. All their lunches are filling and inexpensive. A great way to keep you fueled for multi hour table runs. They have American and Asian menus, while kinda taste the same, but they have some bangers. Staff is fantastic, hustler, hospitable, great service. Drink prices are chill and worth every penny. They will almost never cut you off unless you get violent or slur your speach bad, fall asleep. Parking is still terrible, parking across the street may get you ticketed/towed if you park there overnight, so try and park as close as possible to get on the cameras. Lots of homeless in the area, but none in the card rooms. Bathrooms are high traffic, but actually kinda clean. Even after all these years I'm still up on them eventhough with the legalization of online betting I still have reason to come here despite doing it all online or roulette in Vegas.

I honestly don't understand who is making decisions at Ocean's Eleven Casino, but it feels like…read morethey go out of their way to make things *harder* for players. They used to have a simple, perfectly fine system where you could call in and put your name on the board for poker games. Easy. Convenient. Player-friendly. Now? That's gone. Instead, they're forcing everyone to download an app just to get on a list. Why? Not everyone wants to download another app. Some people don't have the space. Some people don't trust giving random third-party apps access to their phone. And believe it or not, some people *don't even have smartphones*. So what, those players just don't matter anymore? That's not innovation--that's exclusion. If you want to OFFER an app, great. Give people options. But completely removing the ability to call in is just lazy and tone-deaf. It shows zero consideration for your actual customer base. And this isn't the first time management has ignored players. The chip color change on the 4/8 table from blue to pink? Almost nobody liked it. Players spoke up. And just like now--nothing. No listening, no adjustments, no care. At this point, the place feels like our current government--quick to take your money, but not interested in listening to the people who actually keep the lights on. The players are the ones funding this place, and yet their voices couldn't matter less. It really feels like the people making these decisions don't play here, don't talk to players, and frankly don't care. There's no focus on improving the player experience--just unnecessary changes that frustrate everyone. Heartless, out-of-touch management. If you're going to make changes, at least make ones that *help* your customers, not push them away. If I see any changes or improvement, I will remove this comment.
