Kilowatt Brewing is an awesome brewery in Oceanside. It gets busy and for good reason. Firstly, the staff is amazing - they are friendly and always working non -stop with a great attitude. When I asked how to play a certain board game Kilowatt invented, the staff kindly explained. Secondly, the beer selection was interesting. I tried the pickle beer sour, brewed with herbs found in dill pickles, and it tasted like pickle brine but better. It's the most memorable drink I've had thus far. Thirdly, the interior is filled with neon lights, pinball machines, board games, and more. In the back, there's a speakeasy. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Kilowatt. There was plenty to do and I'd definitely stop by again whenever I'm back in the area.

I love Kilowatt Brewing. The vibes are always chill, the music is great, the decor is psychedelic, and the beer is refreshing - any time of year. From Brewdoodle events, to speakeasies, to killer hot dogs in the kitchen, this place has something for everyone (21+). Check 'em out for good vibes and good beer!

My partner was down in O side for work and we decided to give this place a try. The place is visually cool. Totally grabs your attention from outside. We came in and took a look at the menu, they have food, beer, cocktails and non alcoholic mocktails. There are cool pinball machines, lots of games on the tables to play, live music at least when we were there and there's an awesome speak easy in this place. The decor is very unique, definitely would come back here, it's cool, laid back and fun. What else would you want.

Kilowatt Oceanside is colorful, fun and has plenty of yummy drinks, just like the OB location. While this locatuon is much smaller and lacks the funky blacklight art of OB, it does have a speakeasy inside which is a plus! Enjoyed some good brews and alky slushies early evening. Unfortunately the cook supposedly was a no show so no chance to try any bites but service was friendly and the vibe was chill.

Marcos was our bartender and boy did he make our drinks so good I had the Lychee moon and it was so delicious

This place is cool. It's streetside so you can just pop in. I found metered parking along South Coast Highway. I didn't see that they had their own lot. They are not beach front, but they are only a quarter-mile or so to the beach. Their bar has an open face to the street so you can sit inside facing outward and enjoy the Mission Ave. ambiance. They also have a number of tables inside. There are a few small, carnival style games inside, so that's fun. I had their 6.2% chocolate stout, which was good. Here's a link to their tap list: https://kilowatt.beer/beer/#os-tap-list

If I could give zero stars, I would. The beer was unfit for humans. Whoever thinks that they can brew beer here should pick a different day job. Worst beer ever. I should have taken the empty brewery in the evening on a Friday as a sign that this place was not the best. The place did not smell good at all. Simply cannot recommend as a place to hang out. The pinball machines are cool but you have to pay.... For the price of the beer, they should be free.

4.5 stars I haven't been to this brewery in a while. But we had a hour wait for our dinner reservations and we decided to grab a quick drink to pass the time. I had a good time. The beer was good. I had a coconut pineapple blonde and a Mexican lager. I enjoyed both beers. My daughter had a pineapple sour. I'm not really into sours. But she loved it. The atmosphere was nice and Chill. The music was good. We played some games. I will be back to this brewery.

Cute Little spot located right in the heart of downtown Oceanside. The beer is solid, service is good and there's some pretty cool games to play while you're sipping in the brew. Bonus, speakeasy in the back behind the bathrooms...

Very unique tasting room that we happened upon, I couldn't help myself and went in for a quick taste. The beertender was super friendly, the music was reminiscent of my high school days and the beer, incredible. I had the Christmas ale, it reminded me of Phoestivus, a seasonal beer in Phoenix AZ.

Whenever I find myself in Oceanside, Kilowatt Brewery is my go-to place. I always make sure to order the coconut pineapple blonde - the flavors of coconut and pineapple are so distinct, they hit your taste buds right at the top of your tongue. With a variety of beer options to choose from, there's something for everyone. The large open windows to view the palm trees, excited crowds outside and plenty of natural light, creating a cheerful atmosphere where everyone seems to be in good spirits. The bartenders are friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home.

Desiree was amazing!!!!!! She was so attentive and even gave me options on the beers on tap. It was a nice atmosphere with good music. Parking is of course street parking but there was plenty. If you come on Thursday there's a farmers market so it might be a little tough to find parking. This location is bigger than the others. But with more variety of beers on tap. Love the vibe.

I recall it being a delicious and a wonderful dining experience. I have been looking forward to bringing my family and friends here all week. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars, because their food is still AMAZING and their staff is super nice and I believe deep down inside that they just had a REALLY OFF night. We had reservations for a party of 9 last night. The table was set up nicely and accommodated a few extra if needed, which I thought was cool. We started with some adult beverages: an Old Fashion, some Hotel Nacionals, a Fashionably Late, and a couple of beers. Everything started great. Dennis, our server was very cool and friendly and gave great suggestions. We ordered the mac and cheese sides and they were delicious with huge pieces of savory bacon in them. We also ordered the brussel sprouts which we never received and didn't even realize it until the very end when we received the bill because of all the other issues we had... but we'll get to that in a moment. But let's talk about what did go well... the delicious food we did get. We ordered the Pig burger which was sooo good and came with crispy fries. The fish for the fish and chips were 2 huge pieces and were delicious, came with yummy seasoned waffle fries and the tiniest tartar sauce and malt vinegar. I had to request 4 more for that amount of fish, but no big deal. Dennis brought out as much as we needed. Their ranch sauce is really good too. Don't judge just because it's a little peachy'ish and looks thousand island'ish. lt's still some very good ranch. My son said he really tasted the bitterness of beer in the fish batter but maybe it was just in that piece he had; I could not taste it in the piece of fish I ate. The short rib was really tender and delicious... the sauce was just a tad salty for my taste, but the mashed potatoes it sat on sort of balanced it out a little. The fried chicken thighs were really cooked well, juicy, crispy and seasoned perfectly. We ordered two Teres Major steaks. One rare with mashed potaoes, one medium rare with grits. The rare one came out medium and without any mushrooms, took FOREVEEERR to remake (the rest of the table was almost done with our meals...& not sure why it took so long since the restaurant wasn't that busy and it's a RARE steak). The one with grits came with mashed potatoes instead of grits. Dennis was super nice and apologetic and corrected both mistakes when we let him know. He then brought us a big bowl of grits. The manager (blonde gal) came over and apologized for the mistakes tonight, letting us know that usually does not happen, and let us know she'd be comping one of our steaks and would be bringing a dessert on them. We thought that was very nice of them. However, as nice a gesture. we never did receive that dessert. My husband handed Dennis his credit card before the bill arrived (before our friends could try to pay the bill) and not sure why but our bill never came, and we never saw Dennis again either after he boxed up our leftovers and took the card. We had to ask another server for our bill because we had been waiting for quite a while... and needed to head out as we were already late to meet friends at a lounge. The other server came back with my husband's credit card, the bill (that's when I finally noticed the brussel sprouts sides we never got but were charged), and let the server know. He immediately apologized and took it off the bill. So I'm not sure what happened last night at Flying Pig...missing and charged brussel sprouts, steak overcooked, missing mushrooms, mashed potatoes instead of grits, then a comped dessert promised but never delivered. WOW. I had to apologize to my friends. I was totally hyping up this place and it underdelivered. They automatically got their 20% gratuity for our party of 9 but anyone that knows me knows how much I absolutely love great service combined with exceptional food and that could have easily been a 30-35% tip had they been on their A game! We only come to Oceanside once a year. Maybe we will try again next year. Maybe not. This trip was about trying out a bunch of different restaurants and giving honest reviews on dishes/businesses we haven't tried before, or in a long time. Do better guys.

So my friend Nanci and I turned to Yelp for help. She had been to this location before and I frequent the Vista tavern and grill (mainly when Jimmy Paton is playing) with my family. Knowing that this one wasn't a restaurant we looked up on their calendar and excitedly saw that the Oishi sushi fusion pop up would be here. I've had them elsewhere several times and am a fan of them! AND we also saw that they have live music on Friday nights too! Oh yeah! This day the music was by Kimmi Bitter duo with Willis Farnsworth. I love the 60/70's vibe that they've got going on! Definitely a fun FriYay night out with our favorite of things ie Grub, drink AND what felt like a VIP live music show! I loved the open floor plan especially because after that fun workout prior I was able to cool down with the fresh air. Cuz I was one sweaty Betty, Ha! We noticed that they have BINGO on Thursdays and so the pre-planning of my 50th birthday spinning wheels in my head began! How perfect that my actual birthday fell on the same day as a bingo night. Spinning Meats Mediterranean pop up would be there. Rain or Shine. You see it's usually very hard to plan an actual birthday event for my birthday because it's so close to the hustle bustle of the Holidays. It also likes to be a rainy day. We lucked out here! I called and spoke to Ashley (forgive if I got the name wrong but that's what this old brain remembers). about making reservations and she informed me that it really is a free-for-all/first come basis as far as the table seating goes. But she did reserve one high communal table for me, RSVP for a half an hour prior to the first BINGO game. That worked out perfectly as my event was more casual and my friends would be trickling in and out during the evening. Several of my guests that attended my event are fellow YELPers too and we are always recommending our favorite places with one another. The entire venue felt like it was my own as we befriended strangers and shared other tables, luv and laughs all around & even shared my cake with them too. I was having surgery just days after this event so I only had one seltzer drink and it was good. I love that it didn't have fake dye coloring in it. My friends loved the place, their brews, and I loved their presence! Thank you BBB~O'side crew. You were amazing! Tho a bit bummed that no one out of my group won a bingo game but one guy won twice!?! How!?! Scratches head. We had a great time and truly am looking forward to my/our next experience here!
