I have been here every time I visit here every time I visit Oceanside, we love the food and there always pretty quick. This time was terrible the waitress was rude, slamming glasses in her table, having issues with our order and it took over an hour to get to get our food and which is very unusual for this restaurant I saw, and we saw other people getting their food that came there after us and seemed like our waitress put her own later, and she just seemed to have an attitude, not smiling and every time we ask for something it was like a problem. Her name was Jenna B. As soon as we arrived she had an attitude. We will go again, but hopefully we won't get this waitress. I wouldn't recommended anyone. The Quinoa burger was decent, and the shrimp & sausage fettuccini was pretty good... but we don't think we'll be back. It took a while to be seated, and a while for our waitress to finally come over. With hungry children, that time is precious to us. The pretzel was honestly awful. It's covered in pepper, and their attempt at doing that appetizer elegantly just fell flat. We've always loved this place. Brought my family today and very disappointed in the portion size. Ordered seared Ahi to put on a salad for an extra $14 and it was the tiniest portion of ahi. The salad was really dry so I asked for a little extra dressing and they charged me for the dressing. Haven't been here for brunch in a while and it was as nice as I remember! The brunch menu changed a bit since last time but kept my favorites and added some new intriguing options. This time I ordered the Beach Boy Croissant egg sandwich which was delicious. My husband and friend both ordered the Carnivore Hash, one with short rib and one with pork verde. Was my first time at LTH and it definitely won't be my last!! They have a good happy hour with discounted food and drinks. We had the deviled eggs ($3each on HH and you can order them individually) with different styles daily. Last night, they were southwest style with a jalapeño and a corn chip in them - I could have made those my entire meal!! My daughter had the Caesar salad chicken wrap and she said it was really good. My friend and I ordered burgers -- personally, I felt like the burger could use a bit more sauce, and the fries were slightly dry. However, my non-alcoholic mojito was absolutely amazing -- very fresh with a nice sour taste, and I also asked for it without syrup. The service was fast, and the presentation was great. My husband and I have visited LTH on multiple occasions and have had a pleasant experience every time. The food is consistently enjoyable and the service is always very good. The interior of the restaurant can get pretty noisy, but we've found their patio to be comfortable most nights. We have brought our dog on several occasions, and the restaurant staff has been friendly with her and happy to accommodate. Some of my personal favorite dishes have been the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap and the Ceviche. Not a big fan of their fries, but everything else I've tried has been great. I loved it -- 200% would come back just for that dish alone. To drink, I had the Duckfoot Honey Ale ("Drink this or the bees will die") and the Old Timer (an old fashioned). The birthday guy got the Short Rib French Dip and took the Chicken Orzo Goodness home for his wife -- he said the French Dip was delicious, and later told me his wife loved her meal too. My other friend had the Dirty Bird sandwich and grabbed the Bacon Truffle Mac & Cheese to go. Honestly, everything was amazing. We were all very pleasantly surprised. For entrées, I went with the 60/40 Fritta Burger (a chorizo and beef patty you can actually taste), topped with a sunny-side egg, guacamole, and served with perfectly crispy and sweet fries. Hands down one of the best gourmet burgers I've had in a long time. My wife ordered the Pecan Crusted Scottish Salmon, which was equally amazing! The menu is fantastic, offering both unique creations and classic favorites. I also loved that one of the staff noticed my USC sweater and caught me turning my head around to watch the game behind me. Only down fall was that our table was located in their open/semi-open patio with only a few heaters working. We made it work. Our server, Jenna was good and provided good recommendations. I tried the short rib which was delicious. My husband ordered the Cajun pasta and it was nice n' spicy. For an appetizer we opted for the roasted Brussels. These were good with just the perfect amount of blue cheese crumbles on top. This restaurant is popular for a reason. It has a good location right in the heart of Oceanside, nice on the beach but on a very busy road. Been pleasantly surprised by the food menu the last couple of times I've visited. The sandwiches are pretty solid, I usually go for the French dip. I also usually get some extra horseradish on the side. The Cajun shrimp and andouille sausage is also a winner, so good! The drink menu is pretty solid as well. Whenever I have gotten fries here, they seem to be soft for some reason, but that's been my only complaint so far! Came here while on vacation. The vibe here is great. Sat down and our server was perfect form start to finish. They give kids a really cool Wikki Stix toy and not the usual boring crayons. Food was awesome. We started with Buffalo Devil Eggs. I could have eaten 1k of them. We also shared sushi which was fresh and delicious. Entrees I got the fish special. There was a lot going on with the meal but it all came together perfectly. The cook knew what they were doing. Everyone else at our table loved the food. I want to add, we were in Cali for 3 days. I was really disappointed with our experience at Local Tap House in Oceanside. Unfortunately, the service was poor from start to finish. We were served not one, but two dirty cups that still had crusted food residue inside them. We also ordered a Dr Pepper at the beginning of our meal and didn't receive it until the very end, after we had already finished eating. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of acknowledgment. Our server, Paula, who we were told is the manager, never smiled, apologized for the mistakes, or seemed concerned about the issues we were having. The service was extremely slow throughout the meal, and when we mentioned that we'd had multiple negative experiences, there still wasn't a sincere apology. The only resolution offered was removing the soda from the bill. Mistakes can happen at any restaurant, but how they're handled makes all the difference. Unfortunately, the lack of customer service and accountability left us with no desire to return. read more
