Very attentive but not overbearing. We started with a few apps. Crab cakes - yes, coconut shrimp - yes, calamari - meh...they're strips and were decent but no actual cocktail sauce which I think would have been nice to add. I got the pan seared Black Sea bass w/ a couple scallops. I was excited for the bass and it was good but honestly it was slightly dry. The scallops were delicious. Last night we walked down the pier to choose a place for dinner. We liked the look of this restaurant and, since I use a walker and they have an elevator, this was it. The host, Chris, told us to sit where we wanted, then he kindly moved my walker out of the way. Very soon our server, Oracio, came with menus and to take our beverage orders. Too many times we have to wait, but our drinks were delivered quickly. We chose one of their local craft beer offerings. Then he gave us a perfect length of time to study our menus and order. Then our dinners arrived, also quickly. As we ate, there was the nice bonus of a beautiful sunset -- with no pressure to turn the table. If you go here on a Tuesday or Friday, ask for Oracio. Great scenery and the weather was the perfect way to start a beautiful today. We've started to come to the Lighthouse, it's our go to... regularly when we come to an Oceanside Harbor. I've found that the Super Campechana, clam chowder and Fish Tacos are our regular favorites. Had a Michelada and Michelob to start. We don't give the chefs enough of the praise for the dishes they've created and send out to their guests for heavenly consumption. We tip our servers for excellent service but they're the middle man for what the restaurant actually stands for. I took the time today to give our chefs praise for our dishes that we love so much. We come here every time we come to Oceanside. My husband ordered Fishrmans Fry, I ordered the Seabass. His was not very tasty and my Seabass was dry. We spent a lot of money on these two meals... was not worth it. The service was wonderful and I have to say they have the best homemade tiramisu... I hope they get better cooks. I don't think these are the same cooks from last year. Yea this place is pretty terrible and the only saving grace is that the staff were really nice and maybe in the daytime, the views make up for the lackluster food. I came in here after trying to go to two other spots, (LTH and Pure Project were both packed with people and I needed some quiet) and was greeted pretty nicely by the host and chose a seat at their long inviting bar. Its Taco Tuesday as I was told and there was a special on Modelo draft (not my kind of beer) and taco specials. I had an Oside Blonde and that was pretty much the only thing good about the meal. I actually wanted a bowl of soup and when I asked the guy serving me which one was good, he was nice enough to give me a taste of all three, only the Manhattan clam chowder was edible and hot so I opted for that one. But when the soup came, it wasnt even hot and it was lukewarm!! I then ordered a chicken nachos and that was just a sordid mess honestly. The worst nachos I have ever eaten, and the grilled chicken was cold! I didnt want to make a fuss about the food as I just wanted to finish up my meal, pay and make a mad dash for the door. The other thing is they charged me fill price for the nachos even though it was a special for Taco Tuesday. And while the food is inedible, the staff were nice and it was fun to listen to some ska style Xmas music! Went on a Wednesday night, sat down right away. We'd been eyeing the menu so we knew what we wanted. We were a little weary to order the clam chowder based on reviews but I would give it a 7.5/10. It wasn't awful like the other reviews said. We got decent amount of clams and flavor wasn't bad. Also ordered, ahi tacos, cioppino, and ceviche. Ahi tacos were pretty good, came in an order of 3. The ceviche was the best. Really enjoyed it! The cioppino fell absolutely short. It was actually awful. We couldn't eat it however the servers were so kind and removed it from our bill. Quickly was seated at our table - no too budy with little noise, and was served some great tasting corn chips. They had a self serve salsa bar that had many different varieties of salsa. My favorite was the mango salsa & they all smelled delicious! We ordered margaritas. Mine was a tasty lime & Jalapeño topped with tajin on the rim. The waiter was very helpful and had many recommendations. We ended up ordering the Puerto Vallarta lobster dinner along with a few appetizers. Lobster tacos were a very tasty treat. Kitchen staff seemed very cleanly, using gloves and protective gear. We were brought extra napkins & a plate to share They served fresh flour tortillas with a whipped butter cinnamon honey chili. They serve a variety of Draft beers, Appetizer menu $5-7 from 3-6pm. We spent about 1.5 hours for dinner & ordered the dessert sampler & they let us get more churros in place of the lava cake ( very accommodating). I would highly recommend trying this restaurant and would definitely come back for more seafood. Went to the lighthouse after walking around the harbor with family. We sat outside looking out over the harbor and boats. Beautiful beach skies. We sat ourselves as the sign requested, and we were quickly greeted by staff. Menus, water and a friendly smile. We ordered some drinks and split a couple of appetizers. Chips and salsa and chicken nachos and oyster shooters with extra horseradish. The salsa had the perfect heat. Fresh made chips with the nachos also. Everything tasted fresh. Parking space very scarce since it is shared by other bar restaurant and retail shops. Restaurant is located at the second floor level of the building and had to ascend up flight of stairs Our party of 12 got seated at an outdoor covered patio which was decorated with string of lights. It was not so busy and yet service was slow , our server somehow took time to come back to our table during the course if our meal. We had to flag down another server for service several times. I had ordered the Lobster Bisque , it was bland and not as I was hoping for. I had the Fishermans Fry which was a variety of breaded seafood like shrimp, oyster, calamari, clams ,and fish. My family and I were looking forward to a nice seafood dinner by the harbor, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. We ordered two dozen oysters, the Luis Especial, two kids' hamburger meals, and two steamed combos. The lobster was severely overcooked, and the portion sizes were disappointing. Our waiter came across as a bit unprofessional, which we could have overlooked if not for the bigger issue at the table next to us. One of the guests was clearly intoxicated upon arrival. She was falling asleep at the table, and even the waiter joked about it being "nap time" for her, yet continued to serve her alcohol. By the end of our meal, she was throwing up into her napkins and a to-go box. It was a disturbing and unsanitary scene, especially while trying to enjoy dinner with our family.
