We landed on this restaurant to watch the World Cup because they had a lot of TV's, including a large TV wall. Good game day crowd, lots of fresh air and natural light with the open air design. Nothing impressive as far as game day specials , best option was bucket of 5 Michelob Ultras for $25, normally priced at $6 bottle for a slight savings. Service was a bit slow, understandable given the crowd. Hostess Campbell and our server Brian were both very friendly and helpful. We ordered the blackened mahi sandwich and some kombucha's. Prices were average and the food was better than bar food, we would go back. In our opinion this is one of the better places to watch sports in DT Oceanside. Street parking only, so be prepared to walk a little. Establishment is clean and ADA accessible. I did not see anyone with dogs, however, there are two patio seating options. read more

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon with wife and kid. Sign said "wait to be seated" but we waited about 5-6 minutes before just walking up to the bar to seek assistance. Once seated the server approached us and she had a strong detergent smell to her. Ordered the chicken katsu, fish tacos and kids chicken tenders. Pretzels as an appetizer. Pretzels were way too salty and oily. Didn't really enjoy them. Chicken katsu was bland and needed the dipping sauce they provided. The macaroni salad that came with the plate was watery and overly sweet. The cabbage has a fowl bitter taste. At least the rice was well cooked. Fish tacos were over fried unfortunately and lacked flavor as well. Only reason we didn't send dishes back was because of a time crunch we had. Kids chicken tenders were OK. I will say the kids plate has way too much food on it. It was a portion that even I would struggle finishing. In conclusion, service was slow, and food was overpriced for how bland it was. Met a ladies lunch group of .6 here and Allysa was a pro waiting on us and answering questions regarding the menu. It was pretty extensive and I almost missed the lunch deal- 1/2 sandwich with side for $14!! What a deal for a Cardiff crack sandwich and sweet potato fries which I happily paid extra 2$ for. So many choices and all of us left happy and full. You could have a salad, brussel sprouts, or other choices with sandwich. Lots of beer choices of course too. The location is perfect on the corner with ocean breezes coming in and lots of seating. There's garage parking next door and validates tickets which I recommend- especially if here on a Thursday as the street fair tows cars after 1 for the vendors. read more

Really disappointing experience at Biergarden Oceanside today. As locals, we have seen this location go through a few different concepts over the years, and we were genuinely hopeful Biergarden would be a great addition because it is such a good spot with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly disappointing. My partner arrived before me and already had a drink when I joined him at the bar. I sat down and waited about 15 minutes without a single acknowledgment from the bartender. No hello, no "I'll be right with you," nothing. Another person came in and sat down next to me during that time. He also waited about 10 to 15 minutes without ever being acknowledged and eventually got up and left. My partner and I were actively trying to flag down the bartender, and despite our attempts to get his attention, we still received no acknowledgment. At one point, he left the bar to have personal conversations with people in the outdoor seating area while we were still sitting there waiting. Eventually, we gave up too. I had to go find the restaurant manager just to close us out for my partner's one drink so we could leave. What is especially frustrating is how much potential this place has. They are losing revenue simply because of the lack of attentiveness and quality of service. We came in ready to order drinks and food, and the person next to us was presumably there to spend money as well. Instead, multiple customers walked out because no one could even acknowledge that we had sat down. Hopefully the service improves because Oceanside deserves a great spot in this location. read more

Looove the mac and cheese, soo good . Weirdest thing tho- i ordered the entree of mac and my friend got it as a side to her entree and the flavors were COMPLETELY different. Mine was cheesy and full of flavor, amazing cheese pull- hers was so bland , no flavor at all, no cheese pull... it was severely lacking in every aspect, strange that the consistency was so far off, cause my entree of mac was amazing lol. Anyways, love the peach cobbler, its a 20+ minute wait for it so order it before youre done eating, definitely worth the wait tho. Crack fries are good but very dry , always ask for more salsa on the side. Drinks arent that strong considering the price on them. If youre sitting at the bar that is closest to the outdoor seating area, closest to the big tv screen- the AC unit will drip condensation into your food/drink. So heads up! Despite typing ^^^ Ill still give them a 4, the good stuff reeeallly makes up for the rest of the bads, but i do hope theres some changes soon. read more

I was hungry and had to stop by for a bite and since their kitchen was open till 10pm I got a chance to get a bite. They have all the finger foods, burgers, sandwiches and plates here as most brewery style restaurants do. I wanted something a little hearty so I had ordered their Hawaiian Chicken Katsu plate which comes with Rice and Macaroni Salad. The food was alright, the breading was not really the Japanese panko but it's a brewery so it did the job. The place itself is nice, and they have a nice indoor and outdoor area along with their nice bar area. Definitely a place to get some good beers and drinks along with a bite. read more

The worst experience at any bar ever. I came to Oceanside to work on an interpreter assignment and then I decided to stay and watch Spain-Portugal game. I went to a pizza place and ate and watched first half but due to parking limitation I had to moved my car and so I parked close by this Biergaden and saw the huge screen and also saw the sign coffee outside so assumed they also had coffee drinks. The manager came and I asked for a coffee and told me they only had back coffee but if I went to the coffee shop by the corner and grabbed a coffee there I could come back and he would let me drink it watching the game. I told him I already ate and that only needed a coffee and of it was ok and he told me yes. So I went to the corner shop, got my cappuccino, came back, sat at the bar and already met friendly folks when he came after some minutes of me being there (and I told a waiter sorry I am drinking coffee from outside, your manager said is ok, he smiled and said no problem). Then the manager comes with the menu and told him I am sorry I am not hungry you told me I could be here to finish watching the final part of the game. He told me 'i am running a business here' pretty rude and in front of others and even I completely understand, he misled me to believe I could get something from the outside and come back even when I told him I was not planning to eat...today. It does not mean I was not going to come another day with a bunch of my friends and spend a lot of money in food and drinks. This situation was very embarrassing and won't be coming back. This was an important game in the World Cup and he could have been courteous because is not like the bar was packed and they were mega busy. My spouse and I visited the restaurant for brunch on Sunday, August 30th. We both ordered the Cardiff Crack Skillet. What a disappointment. The plate was 90 percent potatoes, zero vegetables, very little meat, and the egg was basically hard boiled instead of over easy. This was a complete joke for $22.00 per plate. Ordered two of the Texas burgers and the bacon was raw. My wife had a bite and was grossed out. I didn't catch it till 3/4 of my burger was gone, hopefully I don't get sick. We did bring it up to the waiter and he just said waived it off. We asked how that specific burger was and he recommended it. He said it was delicious. I was excited to watch the game (Mexico vs Czech) at bier garden Oceanside, but they were still hosting trivia night which would interrupt the middle of the game. The view of the tvs suck if you are sitting outside, and I asked the host to sit us right in front of the tv but since they were hosting trivia night, she put me outside. The reviews have pictures of the tv but that is ONLY at the bar section which probably only holds 10 people total. Not only that, but the waiter (Caleb?) took forever to get our first drink in. They literally sat two groups after me, got their drinks and food prior to them even getting to our orders. I definitely add to the list of people who have gotten slow service. Again, if you are trying to watch World Cup games, do not come here unless you can sit at bar. They do not prioritize sports game, like who still holds trivia night while the worlds biggest tournament is happening (every four years)!? ZERO STARS!!! All around!!! A nightmare!! My friend and I came this evening to have dinner after work. Two couples were in front of us waiting for a table. There were two people helping people get sat, a middle aged man and a younger girl. Finally it was our turn and the woman was the one helping us. I said I knew they were a bit busy but did they have a table inside. She said to let her check. She came back and said there was one table left inside if we wanted it. I said yes we for sure wanted it. She said it wasn't cleared off but she would take the iPad so in the event the guy came back to seat more people he couldn't really do that as she had the iPad. So we waited for a moment and the guy came up to the booth asking if we had been helped. We said yes and he responded with well move then. We moved aside sort of surprised and he then escorted the people to the table we were given. We again stood there a bit shocked and the woman started to walk back with the iPad. I was asking about our table and she never acknowledged what I said and came back with outside? You want to sit outside? You're sitting outside? While I was telling her we literally want that table inside and it was given to us first. My friend chimed in to say at this point we will just sit outside. We got sat outside. I can not express how long it took us to get any service. We tried flagging our waitress and after a while, anyone down to take our order. We got to the point we were essentially waiving our arms and shouting for someone to come. Finally our waitress comes up and asks our drink orders, we say water and she literally walks away (so we had no opportunity to place any more of our order). We waited and waited once again and again had to do essentially the same thing to get any attention. What was even more strange is we were somewhat at a middle table and everyone around us was getting served. We once again finally caught our waitress and she asks us about appetizers (since we waited so long we were hungry) so we put one in. Again right after we said that she tried again to walk away. We had to stop her and demand to order. My friend orders a Cubano and I ordered the chicken sandwich with onion rings. A while goes by and we finally get our appetizer. We then have no waters even and are waiting again on our mains. Finally what we think is our food comes out. A man came to bring our food to the table. He said a cubano and my friend said yes right here and he placed it on the table. Then he said a club? And I said no and he kept saying it and I kept saying no. He was holding the dish maybe a few inches from my face insistent it was mine. My friend had to chime in and say there's no club here dude!! And the guy said seriously?? And we said yes that's what we have been saying. He said we will see about that and took the food finally back to the kitchen. Shortly thereafter, the waitress comes up and starts going on about how sometimes the food doesn't come out together but surely my food will be out any minute. I tell her what just happened with the guy and she looks shocked and darts to the kitchen. She comes back to say how they already realized the mistake and are putting the finishing touches on my food and it will just be a minute. (I bet you can guess by now - it wasn't just a minute by any stretch of the imagination). We're waiting and waiting again and she comes by again to say how it will just be another minute but in any event they are going to comp my meal. Again we are still waiting. Finally my food comes out and the guy essentially just drops it at the table and leaves. When my food came out I was very surprised. It wasn't a breast, it was very small tenders that were so overcooked they shriveled up. The batter was inconsistent and so hard (when I eventually tried it it stuck to my teeth). I didn't even think it looked like chicken either, I'm allergic to fish/shellfish so my friend tried some and smelled it for me to make sure it was safe. When he took his bite he said it was disgusting and threw the rest down onto his plate. The sandwich was still not what I ordered. The chicken was so off, there was a ton of lettuce that was brown and wilted. There was no sauce on it and no tomato or onion. I guess at least my onion rings were alright. I tried to eat my sandwich but it was so dry that I was genuinely afraid to choke so I gave up. The waitress came back again and started talking about how at least now I have my food and how it's right now and how it's even comped so I can really enjoy it. No modifications can be made. I tried to order the spicy verde margarita without the serrano and they couldn't do it. It was definitely off-putting since they have a full bar. Not familiar with their Encinitas location and what they served, I mistakenly assumed that with a name like "Bier Garten" it would have a German beer hall like menu - maybe like the "Tip Top" in Carlsbad - good German food at a reasonable price. What I found instead was a very typical menu with absolutely nothing German about it. That certainly wasn't a deal breaker for me. We go to the Encintas location quite often. It's always a great time- the servers are over the top with service and so fun. We tried the oceanside location and had a great experience the first time. Our waitress was great. Went tonight and sat at the bar. The two girl bartenders had friends sitting at the bar and it was really awkward because they were ignoring everyone else. I really felt like I didn't belong there. The bartender forgot to put our appetizer in so it came out with our food. They always had their back to us , but we're so attentive to their groups of friends. Very disappointing. Bartenders are supposed to be engaging at fun and drive the energy.
