333 Pacific was a solid four stars for me. While there were some things they excelled at, there were a few disappointments that detracted from the overall experience. One thing that was really stellar about 333 Pacific was we made reservations for their first time slot of the day at noon, and despite arriving about 12 minutes early before opening, we were still able to be seated. We drove nearly an hour to get here and it was pretty windy outside, so we appreciated the opportunity to be out of the elements. Our waitress was very nice and throughout our meal multiple staff assisted. No one ever missed a beat. They were all very pleasant and worked well together. You could tell the morale here is very high! We stared out with the calamari, which was- easily a 5 star dish! It was fried to perfection and the melange of sauces drizzled on top were *chefs kiss* excellent! Before our entree arrived they also brought out some piping hot Rosemary Bread Rolls along with some Maple Butter. I thought it was pretty good, but I wish the presence of the rosemary was dialed back so I could taste more of the Maple Butter. For an entree I had the Ahi Tuna Burger lunch special with fries. The seared Ahi Tuna was great and there was a very generous portion served on the burger. The Brioche bun was not very good though, and I feel the shallots on the burger were a bit overwhelming. The fries with the dish were good, but pretty standard fare. I would've preferred the option of a small green salad instead of fries if it was available. My husband ordered the Cioppino. I tried it and it was delicious- another 5 star dish! It had a very deep flavor and lots of seafood. A lot of work to get to some of the seafood, but well worth the effort. The main miss of the meal was my husband ordered a Dr. Pepper and it was flat. He let the waitress know and she went to another station to get a fresh one, and it too, was on the flat side. By this point, my husband just wanted water since the carbonation wasn't up to par. The waitress did a great job and really tried to fix the situation, but the carbonation just wasn't working. I had a Strawberry Lemonade which was fine, but could've used a little oomph for the $8 price tag. Another miss was the terrible smell in the women's restroom. It was either dry drain or some other plumbing issue, but it was pretty bad. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. Overall, we did have a nice lunch here with a great view of the beach. The things that were amiss can easily be fixed, so I'm sure they are not permanent issues. Glad to have dined here, the staff really elevated the experience and made us feel very welcomed. read more

I was recently invited to a dinner here. It's been a few years since I've been back due to the fact that I had a few experiences that left me disappointed. Honestly, I was a bit hesitant to return. Surprisingly, I had a nice night. I had a great little salad that had a lot of flavor, even though it was very simple. I had the short rib, which was very good and quite filling to the point I couldn't even finish it. Much better than the last time I had it flavor wise and for dessert I had the sorbet special which was also good. I've been to 333 Pacific on several occasions and finally wanted to write this legit review. It's located in the heart of downtown Oceanside by the Pier. This is the best location for amazing ocean views while dining. When I'm there, I feel welcomed. The staff are so friendly and very helpful at the same time being on top of the table service. Of course, the food is on another level...usually tastes really good. But, I did eat an eggnog bread pudding for dessert that was a bit on the dry side. A delish dinner in a lovely setting. Ocean view from the patio! Super fresh and yummy oysters, flavorful cioppino where the seafood was cooked to perfectly. Crostini was toasted just right and perfect for dipping. My friends enjoyed their filet mignon that was cooked to perfection along with their mushroom risotto. They have about ten $10 "nibbles" to choose from ranging from lobster bisque and ceviche to truffle frites and charred brussel sprouts. The service was good. Staying at Club Wyndam and attended a sales-pitch and received a gift card for 333 Pacific. Glad we did, probably the best perk we have received. We went at lunch (light crowd), seated quickly with a nice view of the ocean. Stylish & upscale dining area. Our Server (Kelsey) was awesome. Happy hour is our favorite time to visit high end steak and seafood restaurants when we are on vacation. We love to sample a variety of smaller portions to explore all their cuisine styles, and here it is all for $10 a dish. Our experience at the bar of 333 Pacific was super! I appreciate they have daily happy hour, as few places offer discounts on Saturday and Sunday in OSide. Although there isn't a great view of the ocean from the bar, we were immersed in our meal! At 415 on a Sunday, it was not busy in the restaurant but we like the bar. And we wanted to be seated where it was happy hour!! We started with a Chi Chi cocktail and a margarita, both nice cocktails worth the $10 price point. The tropical Chi Chi had some pineapple and coconut flavors, and was sweet and cold. Several bartenders helped us, it seemed no one took ownership but we didn't lack for service. I like to watch them make the martinis. We ordered our food from the upbeat tall guy who was prepping the limes and lemons while we dined. We started with a lobster bisque and Caesar salad. The bisque was rich and not heavy but definitely lots of cream! A spoon full of nice little chunks of lobster were on the top. The salad was fine but not extraordinary, and was probably the least "value" dish we ordered. The Ceviche was awesome, however! It came with two seasoned corn tortilla rounds, crisp and snappy. Loaded with shrimp, cucumber, tomato and avocado, it did not come with the menu mentioned taro chips. The flavor was great and had a lot of depth, maybe just clamato but yummy. The garnish included some briny sea beans (pickleweed, who knew!) and I loved them. I could eat this dish every week! For our next course, we had an enormous order of fried calamari with a really excellent sweet chili-citrus glaze. I love the crispy little legs. And the mussels, oh they do a nice job with the mussels. The broth was thicker than I would like, but it was garlicky and buttery. A generous portion for $10, too. I brought my own gluten-free bread to dunk, and husband ate the toast points. It was all he could do to finish his calamari, it was such a huge dish. I admit we didn't have any leftovers, but we had a great meal with a lot of variety and a couple of cocktails for $73 at a fine seafood restaurant on the coast. I call that a win! read more

We came in expecting a good meal and left wondering if our server secretly owns the place. From the moment we sat down, Kelsey was everywhere in the best way possible--greeting tables, running food, checking on drinks, making jokes, and somehow keeping the entire dining room moving like a well-oiled machine. We are from out of town and I wanted to eat at a upscale place that overlooked the water. I made a reservation and specifically put in the notes we wanted a table that overlooked the ocean. When we walked in the place was virtually empty. Seeing how it was upscale I figured I didn't have to say anything about the water view. We got sat at a booth in the middle of the restaurant. I asked if we could sit in the area that I requested that oversees the water. I think the hostess was new as she seemed nervous and didn't know what to do. We finally got sat in the area I requested. Our server was nice yet very serious. He was taking care of the table next to ours. It didn't take long to realize it was either his first day or his last. He took forever to do everything and it got annoying fast. The table next to us was complaining about him too. For food I started with oysters. They were good but very small. I also tried the 2 bloody marry oyster shooters which my server acted like he was doing me a huge favor because it is apparently only served in the bar area. I didn't like it but honestly I didn't think I would. Entree I got the Choice Cowboy Ribeye. For what I think cost $80 it was a huge disappointment. Very little flavor. I was waiting for our server for so long I had to get up and find him. Once I did and asked him for salt he said "Oh you got your food already?". Keep in mind we had gotten our food at least 10 minutes prior. My wife got the half chicken which was actually decent. The saving grace for me was the creamed spinach. It was the best creamed spinach I have ever had. For an upscale restaurant I was very disappointed specifically the service. When you are paying these prices the hostess should know how to read reservation requests and apply it. Servers shouldn't be MIA constantly and should know how to do their jobs better than a server at Applebees. I wouldn't recommend. read more

I didn't really expect much, but for these prices, a scoop of ice cream to share would have been nice. The drinks were not great. My husband drank my marg because it would have just been wasted. Well... the cowboy steak was delicious, the dry aged porterhouse was absolutely horrendous. The latter was chewy, no sear, and absolutely no flavor - we had to douse it with salt. Felt like it came out of a microwave. We told the waitress and the manager came and they ended up giving us a free $10 dessert. Makes no sense, paid $70+ for a terrible steak and we get $10 discount. They should have refunded the horrendous steak at a minimum, we would have tipped them the amount and then some. Finally, the total bill with tip was around $280, another $20 and we could've ate at Valle right next door, an amazing michelin starred restaurant. Rethink how you treat unsatisfied customers.
