Spicy Mango

The food here was excellent across the board. The Wagyu skewers were incredibly tender and the rolls were super fresh. It's a great place to grab a drink, with a solid selection of cocktails and wine. The only downside is the "hotel pricing," which can be a bit steep, but everything else was perfect. A great choice for a nice night out in Carlsbad.

Ribeye- camera did not eat first, so don't judge the presentation!

Food was so mid, I decided I need to become a food critic. **Apologizes for the picture being taken after. Camera has a hard time eating first. Shareables: We ordered the cheese plate $19 & meat tray $21. Anyways nothing too spectacular, wasn't horrible just nothing special. Lobster Banh mi ($32 or $38), took one nibble and I couldn't, partner took a bigger bite and he couldn't even swallow. Felt like the lobster was just drenched in mayo with barely any lobster. This was probably the most disappointing item. It's premixed, so the mayo is a keeper. But nothing about it tasted fresh, like c'mon the ocean down the street. To be fair, I'm not the biggest mayo fan, usually a mayo mix person, so I could be bias. Ribeye ($77) this meal was the best, not because the Ribeye but because the potatoes served with it!! They were actually the only good thing we had. The sauce served with the steak is so favor-LESS, that I tried it on its own to see what I was trying to taste, and it tasted legit like nothing... I've never had steak sauce that plai. The zucchini that also came as a side was okay, nothing to remember. Steak was cool, more of filet mignon fan so I can't say much. This was my partners meal that we ended up sharing because I couldn't eat my lobster meal, he gave it a 5/10. For drinks, we did a glass of prosecco, and that was fine for us! We sat outside where they had live music, which was nice touch. We ate late so couldn't say much about the view as it looked pretty dark ahead but I could imagine looking better during the day. Overall, I doubt I would eat here again as it really did nothing to me. I'd prefer trying to dash something nearby. If you like your food severely underwhelming, you found your spot! Side note despite not enjoying the food, customer service was good.

one of the few MAJOR drags about living in North County is a rather sparse selection of certain ethnic foods - primarily Indian, Thai, and sushi. So it was a great moment in time when a friend stated she had just had sushi at Pacific Point, and it was fab. Now, a lobby bar in a Hyatt is not generally known for great sushi, so we were skeptical - but my wife asked me to give it a shot for her birthday. We arrived, and I quickly remembered a huge downside of the Park Hyatt - valet only (on the bright side, we took the ragingly cool car, and they immediately parked it front and center - so there's that). We headed to the bar, and my skepticism only increased - as it looked EXACTLY like a typical Hyatt bar. And the menu kind of re-enforced that, with loads of bar food you'd find at every hotel bar. BUT...flipping the menu over, and sure enough, all kinds of sushi options were listed. My wife ordered sashimi and a Sunset Roll, while I ordered several different kinds of nigiri. Our sushi arrived....and da. amn. It was indeed FAB! Very authentic, very definitely perfectly prepped (other than a lack of wasabi in the nigiri, but that was easily fixed with the wasibi delivered as a side). And the pièce de résistance? The birthday cake (pictured). Truly a work of art. While I don't do sugar, my wife assured me it was fantastic! We both loved it...and we'll definitely be back. The ONLY two negatives, frankly, were that it's a Hyatt restaurant with Hyatt pricing (while we get a small discount for being locals, it's still WAY over the top pricing), and the lack of parking. That said, for great sushi, definitely worth it.

Lobby bar and terrace inside Park Hyatt, which caters to many conference groups, events, and weddings. I met my out of town friends here for. Platinum Summit for dermatologists and skincare sponsors. The expense accounts were in full effect, and my personal, not affiliated with a business, tab was along for the ride. The margarita was paltry and lacked any semblance of tequila. Salty lime water. Consolation was the green olives and seasoned almonds that came with. The fried cod and slaw were decent, but I couldn't finish either of them. It was nice viewing the rehearsal lunch going on the terrace and veranda. After the summit was done, I met up with my longtime friend...she loved the lavender cocktail that she ordered 2 (on the biz tab). I tried the yuzu jalapeño cocktail to make up for the sad margarita. The jalapeño popsicle was an aesthetic plus. Her 1/2 tuna 1/2 veggie roll was presented nicely, although a bit doused in sauce. Overall, these two visits to this place will last me for a year or more. The service was brisk and polite, but they were focused on handling the volume of conference spill outs and table turnover.

Patio seating at Pacific Point

Located in the Park Hyatt Aviara with patio seating as well as a full bar. They had a robust menu, but we mostly stuck with their sushi and rolls section because a friend recommended their rolls. At first glance everything looked super pricey (which is to be expected at an on-site hotel restaurant), but we were pleasantly surprised when our food came out because the portions were generous and everything was fresh and delicious. Service was also super attentive and friendly! You can also order from Pacific Point while you're hanging out at Top Golf since it's right next to it. Very convenient to have yummy food while you're playing golf and hanging out.

Twice I went here and had wildly different experiences. The first time I went was a weekday night. There was a wedding nearby, the weather was great, the night was young. We managed to grab a table outside and sat and chatted. It was incredibly busy and they seemed remarkably understaffed. Our waiter was great, but he seemed exhausted running on fumes. The sushi bar was backed up with a wait time of over an hour. Our food was meh, but the cocktails were tasty. The second time we came here was for lunch. The weather was warm but there wasn't many people out there. I ordered a delicious burger and was much impressed with how tasty it was. The cocktails were still on point, but the service was more personal. We had a few employees stop by and casually talk with us making us feel very welcome here. So, not sure I'd recommend them for dinner because I suspect they're frequently busy but lunch was worth it.

Petit fours

My daughter and I came for their holiday high tea on Sunday 12/3/23. The entire experience was just wonderful. We were greeted and seated right away, our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the teas with the exception of the pronunciation of the Nuit D'eté variety of tea. She kept calling it "noo-it day tay" which made me chuckle as it's a French phrase meaning "Summer Night" and it pronounced "nu ee de tay" but I doubt she speaks French so I can overlook it. The teas were wonderful, the selection of finger sandwiches, desserts, petit fours, and the scones were all excellent. However for $75 per person I expected a little more "more". My biggest complaint was that there is a 22% service charge tacked onto the bill automatically. As a member of the service industry I always tip very well, so this sort of thing annoys me. I do understand however that most people don't tip as well, so I just smiled and paid the bill+service charge. Over all; it was a decent experience. We needed to stop at In-N-out on the way home, because as fancy as it was we're were left hungry....So for my $200 worth of coin, it may not be worth your time.

Soo good and pretty here! Love their outdoor setting! I was a big fan of their sushi!! Pricey but worth it! They had a lot of yummy items on their menu. I definitely recommend this place to anyone! You won't be disappointed!!!

Goat cheese cakes

Came for an early dinner with my sister who was staying at the hotel. The cocktails are hand crafted and elevated. I really enjoyed the Pisco Grove. In terms of food, we don't recommend the lobster roll. The Banh Mi dip tasted like a French dip meets pho but the meat was a little dry. The sushi was excellent. We enjoyed all the rolls. The goat cheese cake had a truffle inside each of which I found superfluous otherwise it would've been a great dessert. Service was great, very attentive. Overall we enjoyed our visit. Recommend the sushi and cocktails.

Fish and chips

Exactly what one would come to expect from a Park Hyatt. Exceptional food and service, Pierre, our server, was attentive, helpful, and courteous. We had a baby with us and he couldn't have been nicer about the high chair and being patient and such. The food was good - some nice surprises like the glazed almonds and the pickled lotus root! High quality fish for the fish and chips and the drinks were BOMB. And of course, a great view of the courtyard and heat lamps for the chilly winter afternoon. Spent $200 here easy with drinks and a few snacks but was worth every penny and was a memorable snack and experience.

Had a chance to stop by for a drink before heading to our spa time and enjoyed our drinks very much. Beautiful view and delicious goodies. Service is awesome and our server was perfect! The only downside of this place was the menu. We heard other guests say the same thing "there aren't much to order". Limited appetizers and barely hand full of entrees that's it!?? It's a beautiful place don't get me wrong but this place definitely needs a huge upgrade on their menu. We could've ordered more but didn't happen :(

The staff makes this bar!! Everyone was friendly, professional and efficient. They remembered us but more importantly our drink orders!! We enjoyed a few appetizers, shrimp, tuna roll and charcuterie. The shrimp had amazing flavor!! The spicy tuna was fresh and the charcuterie lovely. My only tweak to the charcuterie would be to add additional salamis, ditch the chorizo and maybe even the pate, prosciutto was the star. The cheese options, fresh fruit and local honey were great. We will absolutely be back next time we have a staycation!! Thank you for the great service!!

Quality of meats is mediocre for the price
K M.

The food is expensive for the quality but the game room is fun and worth a try. The service is exceptional and I made a mistake in booking the room but they worked it out for us. If you're booking the room online make sure to call to modify the booking from 1 hour (default) if you wanted more time.

FOOD: - hot potatoes: has a pickled radish and some sort of crème sauce that was so good - these were my husband's favorite. - chicken satay: It came with pickled cucumber (think when it's cucumber kimchi, but it wasn't a kimchi type of marinade). The peanut sauce had a little spice (if you don't have any spice tolerance I would avoid the sauce, but it was sooo good). This was my favorite. - khao soi curry (has egg noodles) and that was delicious. We added the brisket to it which was a good add. My husband ate his so fast and I had to make him not take any more so we could have leftovers! DRINKS: - we got complimentary champagne for our anniversary which was so so sweet of them and made our night! The champagne itself was actually one of the best champagnes I have had. It had a nice sweetness to it. - my husband had the thai lager, which he said was okay. It tasted like most lagers he's had. - we shared the tangerine you are my sex machine as it sounded interesting and i do have to say this was the only thing we weren't big fans of. it was very smokey, but my husband put "old boat motor" in my head and that's all we could taste. if you love smokey drinks this would be for you. - I had a house cocktail that I cannot remember the name of for the life of me, but it was sweet, peachy (I think) and had champagne in it from what I remember. It was so good and would get it again! The vibe inside the restaurant was cool and there are over 30 tigers (our server counted for us, but she said she couldn't even find them all). The bathrooms were cute and very clean. 10/10 recommend. The check even came in a romance novel!

A fantastic experience…read more Gonzo kept showing up on my yelp feed when I was searching for some eats after a long day at Legoland. So we made the trip there. It's a lovely decor, massive size and quite busy at 8pm at night on a weekday. It's a great place to hang with friends. I really like how they do seating. You queue up for an order at cashier first and the staff then finds you a suitable place to sit. Lots of art and posters on the wall to look at while waiting for the ramen to come out. The service was quick and efficient. The ramen was legit good. Was skeptical of the name, but he food was good. They also have a full bar/lounge area and al fresco dining on the patio outside. It's a great spot, next time I'm in town, I'll definitely check it out. Really liked the downtown area at night. Seems lively and a good place to hang. The tonkatsu was really yummy, rice broth, I drank the whole bowl. Great char siu, good flavor.

I would be happy to come back and eat here again, but it's one of those places that I would forget about if I didn't have pictures, ya know?
