All I can say is wow this place blows you away from craft cocktails to the amazing decorations. The service staff is quick and attentive. They are always friendly when we come in for our pre game date night drinks or post date night drinks and we have brought many a friend here because of it. One special mention to an appetizer long forgotten the caviar deviled eggs were out of this world! The new ones are good but those ones live rent free in my head. Thanks for all the great times there! Included photos from the many times we've been here

T H E . C A L L . O F . T H E . W I L D In a world of social media inexplicably detached from reality, people are thinking they need more 'adventure' in their lives. Things like bungee jumping, goat-farming, or even just getting lost. Which isn't so easy now, because your phone won't allow it and it's really more of a dad-venture because you didn't follow the directions. We're told to 'get out of our comfort zone', which I tried by taking the family camping. This is like pretending to be homeless but with $300 worth of REI gear*. Even the racoons weren't impressed. Saw them going through my wallet while sharing a frappuccino with my name on it. No beds, toilets or Wi-Fi make for a classic misadventure. MY idea of adventure? Trying a new sauce at WingStop*. "Oooh, Mango Dragonfire? Hashtag: Livin' on the edge!" Social media puts too much pressure on us to have big, dramatic thrills. Why can't 'adventure' be going across town to a new McD's*? "Whoa, this is different. I wonder if they have the same happy meal toys". (Spoiler alert: they do.) The truth is, most of us are not wired for too much adventure, or misadventure. Is climbing up a big mountain and saying, "This is so exhilarating!" believable? Really? You're exhausted, your finger tips are frozen, and you just hid from a Timber Wolf. If that wolf sees you, it would become a real misadventure, exhilaratingly fast. Don't we only want the feeling of adventure without the bad consequences? We want to tell the story, but we don't necessarily want to do it. Especially if it involves violent animals, killer insects, or questionable hygiene. Adventure is relative. For some, it's ziplining through a jungle. For others, it's a knock on the door by a DoorDasher*. In summary, if you insist on an adventure, start small. Try a new toothpaste. Skip the self-checkout and talk to a living human. Stand outside and look at the sky. You don't have to go to the edge of the earth to feel alive. An adventure is doing a new thing, like taking an unknown call. "Hello person with an accent... unpaid EZ pass tolls*? Thanks for letting me know, here's my payment info. Do you take tips?" Pro tip: Misadventure and Co. is an amazing place to adventure. You'll find thrill-seeker cocktails alongside edge-of-the-cliff appetizers. The speakeasy-style vibe is classy with entertainment ranging from live music to murder mystery to trivia... making it our go-to spot. A bonafide journey to the edge of adventure... wrapped in bubble wrap. *uncompensated endorsement: not to be construed as a paid ad, sponsored content, or 'collab', despite a suspiciously promotional tone

I had such a great experience tonight at Misadventure! I ordered the Jealous Cousin and divine, really well balanced and memorable. The owner was doing to Earth and welcoming, which made the atmosphere feel even more inviting. I also met a regular who told me about their 1920's themed murder mystery event. He mentioned tickets are available on their website and it honestly sounds like a fun night out. The space itself is charming, there is a patio area, and I loved the detail of having a piano along with live music on certain nights. They rotate a seasonal menu, which keeps things interesting, and offer all day happy hour on Mondays. Between the drinks, food, and overall ambiance, it is a place I will definitely return to. I added some photos I took on a Monday I went in.

Thanks to Yelp, another fun speakeasy find! Otherwise, we wouldn't have located this on our own, as it's uniquely situated within a business park. There's a comfortable variety of seating options inside and out, conducive to relaxing with drinks and friends/family -- as there are even some board games available to play. Love the laid-back atmosphere! We just went for drinks; however, they do offer a food menu, as well. We were fortunate to arrive during a quiet time of the day and to have Jeremy behind the bar, who made this first experience a very relaxed and enjoyable one. We experienced the following interesting and tasty cocktails: Sand to Snow Dark Money 40 Thieves Wade Boggs Jealous Cousin We look forward to returning here when in the area!

So glad we stumbled upon this spot while looking for a nearby nightcap. It was exactly the vibe we were hoping for great atmosphere, a singer playing guitar, and taking audience requests. There were plenty of seating options, and we ended up just enjoying a few cocktails. I would recommend this spot if you're looking for a chill hangout and some drinks.

I'm sad that the original owners sold their distillery but happy for them as they created something unique and had a wonderful story. We haven't been back for a while now about 2 years. It's still a cocktail bar, and we came and had some high balls. Their cocktails were a bit too sweet for us this time and wasn't able to taste much of the alcohol. It was still very tasty to say the least. They had the high ball flights, you get to choose 3. It was a good option if you want to try each one. Still love the ambiance. And their AC worked very well on a hot summers day.

Love this hidden gem speakeasy! The drinks are so good. They have vodka cocktails, and they make their own vodka! The bartenders/servers are amazing, all super kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Ask them for any recommendations, they have good ones! They also have fun events every month like murder mystery & themed nights. They do have food, which is okay in my opinion because, the drinks are the best part. They also have flights which are amazing & a really good happy hour. Love misadventure!

This Spot is a Whole Vibe... the decor, the service, and the drinks! Amazing !!! Live music was playing on Saturday night too!

I've been here a few times so far and it's definitely one of my favorite cocktail places in North County hands down! It's also awesome that they're opened pretty late considering most places close at around 9pm. I'm a huge fan of their highballs as I haven't had any places so far that make it as great as they do. I remember I found out about this place when attending a Yelp Elite event during pre-COVID time and the servers and drinks were so good back then. And they continue to be so good with even better drinks! The bartender/server is super nice (I forgot to ask her name) that makes me want to visit again. She told me that they have live music happening on Friday/Saturday nights, which you can check on their social media for all their updates. The place is pretty spacious and it's never crowded when I visit and I've visited here during weekday nights. Parking is pretty big so also a huge perk! Overall, I would say to visit this place if you want to have a good time and want some good cocktails!

Ask the Community - Misadventure and Co.

Do they give tours of the distillery?

No, and it might not be common knowledge that they did.

Is this place re opened now for 2023?

We are certainly open for 2023 and 2024! Check out our website, give us a call or stop in for a visit to see our new holiday cocktails and rotating food truck vendors!

    Is this place kid-friendly?

Children are allowed within the outside areas. But there are no facilities or areas designed for specifically for kids. Most often childre are not allowed within the inside bar area inside.

Can you bring your own food!? Do you need reservations? Is their heaters if sitting outside or dress…

They often have food trucks setup, but if not, they do have charcuterie boxes and chips n salsa. You can do reservations for larger parties or specific rooms I believe.…

    Is this place closed indefinitely?

UPDATE: New hours of operations are: Thursday: 5pm-10pm, Friday-Saturday: 4pm-10pm.

    Is this place Dog friendly?

Yes! In the outdoor setup. We brought two dogs.

    Are you guys open now?

Hi Alex, we are only open for walk in sales of hand sanitizer and bottles of vodka. Because of COVID and current liquor laws we've decided to build a kitchen. Once that is finished we will re-open the bar. Hopefully August, September at the latest.

Is this a "behaved-dog" friendly place?

Hi Josh and Anne, we do not allow dogs inside the distillery currently. But we will once our front patio gets built out :)

One is a nice, sit-down restaurant. One is a coffee house. The third is the Pocket Pool and Bar. We found the service to be good, but we really didn't enjoy the drinks. The space was rather empty in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. We received coupons good for two welcome beverages at The Pocket when checking in at the resort. When we arrived at The Pocket after checking in but while waiting for our room to be ready, we found ourselves to be the only guests there. No reservations were needed. The clouds were out but it would soon be nice and sunny. We sat down and each ordered a zero proof cocktail. The ask was for something fruity and sweet. We ordered a variation of the Feeling Peachy, consisting of peach puree, citrus, mint, and bubbles. We did choose to give the bartender the freedom to make drinks that would be fruity and sweet as none of the drinks on the menu sounded like what we were feeling for. The bartender brought us drinks that we tried and decided we wouldn't have ordered if we didn't have vouchers for free drinks. As such, we acknowledged they weren't for us, though if we would have paid for them, we would have been disappointed. As such, I'd encourage anyone ordering drinks at The Pocket to stick with drinks on the menu. Speaking of the menu, the menu offers beach bites like smashed guacamole, craklin' buffalo wings, elote fries, quesadilla, sunset ceviche, and dirty nachos. The main event dishes include blackened Baja fish tacos, the wagyu double smash, millionaire's BLT, coastal Cali burrito, and Pacific poke. The balanced-ish menu items include pocket Caesar, the wedge, paradise bowl, and the Santorini. Treat Yourself dishes include cookie sando, assorted fresh fruit, and seasonal sorbet. Beverages include cocktails, wine, drafts, cans, zero proof. The Pocket is a surf-inspired bar with a view. There are televisions to watch sports games, and with the bar being part indoors and part outdoors, you can catch the nice weather or escape from it depending on if it is sunny or rainy. You can make a reservation on OpenTable. The bar hours are open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM. The kitchen is open Monday through Thursday from 12 noon to 6 PM, Friday and Saturday from 12 noon to 7:30 PM, and Sunday from 12 noon to 6 PM. Should we visit the Alila Maria Beach Resort Encinitas again, we may give The Pocket a try again but more for the atmosphere, good service, and perhaps some bites instead of drinks.

Pros: This spot is a good place to hang out if you're looking for a casual bar with activities like billiards and darts. The vibe is fun without being overly packed, which made it easy to enjoy the space. The overall energy of the place was welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. It's one of those spots where you can relax, hang out, and have a good time. Cons: Parking here is probably the biggest downside. The lot is really small and gets packed quickly, so I wouldn't recommend relying on it. We parked nearby after eating at Copper Kings Burgers and just walked over, which ended up being way easier. Several parties of 3+ and I saw 1 party of 6. They were doing an explorer menu from Yucatan. Interesting thing to do during Black History Month - I won't lie. I was surprised to see it. But we ordered from that menu. We ordered the fried plantain that came with a sauce and cilantro, sausage and pepper soup, and the BBQ pork. I enjoyed everything except for the plantain. They were basically a huge disc that was slightly crunchy. I was not expecting that since if I want a crunchy plantain, I will eat actual plantain chips. The soup was fantastic! It was a bit spicy but not overwhelming and full of flavor. Wish I ordered a bowl instead of a cup. And last but not least, the BBQ pork was very good. Served on lettuce as well, so if you are doing keto you can omit eating the tortillas that came with the dish. It also had pickled red onions and a salsa. The salsa was mild and with everything in the taco, flavors were balanced. We also ordered 6 Cajun wings. But today, they didn't seem as flavorful, a pity really. A grilled cheese was ordered but with hamburger meat inside. That seemed good and it came with fries. Washed all of this down with a sour that was called Boozy Berry & my fiancé had a West Coast beer. Food was enjoyable, atmosphere was fun. We will be back again.

(Slow and not really scoping out what should be taken care of ie/ customers without drinks and or place settings for appetizers.) It is Important to mention, that we were not the only group seeing and feeling this way. Needless to say, a very HONEST & CLEAR 3.5 stars. Price is familiar to what I see at similar restaurants and the taste of food and drinks delicious. Thank you for providing a pretty place to have enjoyed a meal and drink with a loved one.
