This place is awesome! Ryan was absolutely phenomenal and helped us find the NA beer options. Ryan said usually they only have 4 but recently they've been carrying 6 options. We tried 4 today and absolutely loved them. If you're looking to go out with friends but don't drink alcohol, this place has got you covered with great NA options! The ambiance is so nice. It's very comfortable inside and currently they have cute Halloween window paintings! Ryan also did a great job suggesting the best options for us too! Fun spot in Oceanside with a great vibe and lots of weekday specials. I had the miso chicken wings .. tasty but light on sauce. They do charge for extra, which I get, but I wished for a little more to start. Their homemade ranch made up for it though! The happy hour pretzel ($10) was perfect for sharing, and my friend's grilled fish tacos were fresh and light. The coconut shrimp looked amazing, so I'll try that next time. Get yourself to Beertown! At 5 pm on a Tuesday, the place was nearly empty. Our friendly bartender helped us through the choices. We took advantage of both Taco Tuesday and Happy Hour to enjoy some local brews and six tacos, for literally $32. Starting with a Beertown Mexican Lager ($2 off) and a Local Roots Watermelon Splash Kombucha (also $2 off), we waited a bit to order food. I like that he let me taste both kombucha flavors before deciding. The watermelon is not too sour but not too sweet, very refreshing with a little kick. So the Taco Tuesday deal is $2.50 tacos, choosing from Shrimp, Steak, Mahi, Veggie or Chicken. These are full sized tacos, dressed up fancy with radish and microgreens. The sauces are good, and they have toppings like pickled onions and corn. Some varieties are served on flour tortillas, some on corn. The corn tortillas are not homemade but they held up well during taco consumption, so they had been properly cooked for sturdiness. I had three Blackened Mahi tacos on corn tortillas by request. Husband had one shrimp, one steak and one mahi. He didn't want the third taco but I wanted to taste the steak. It came home and was still dandy the next day. Our bartender was jovial, and the bar began to fill up closer to six when we were leaving. We tipped generously because, after all, it isn't his fault everything was discounted!! Sadly, we fully intended to come back another day to try the fantastic deal on smash burgers before five pm, $5. The lady next to me ordered the OG smash with bacon jam and it looked fantastic. They changed their Chef and it shows. Not only did they get rid of most of the items on their menu that were really good, it seems like the quality of food has been cut in half. The shrimp tacos were soggy, lacked flavor, and the limes they provided were laughable. They were 1/4" inch thick slices of dry nothingness. The cabbage tasted old. We also had a Beertown smash burger, which honestly wasn't too bad, but the so called crispy onions were severely lacking in ammount and flavor (see photo). They were soggy and tasted old. The last thing that was disappointing was the beer I got was barely cold. The Margarita was honestly the only thing we enjoyed. The staff was fairly nice although no one welcomed us, and the bartender was busy talking for about 5 minutes. We waited for another bartender to come let us know to seat ourselves. read more

Beertown is one of the best kept gems in Oceanside & can be found right as we enter the downtown area. One of my favorite places to dine out is Beertown. Beertown is located on N Coast Hwy in Oceanside California & it's an underrated family-friendly spot. There's a lot to love here at Beertown. They have a private parking lot & there's also street parking surrounding it. Because it is located BEFORE the downtown area, you won't have to deal with too much traffic; which is often known as a nuisance. Their establishment is very spacious, allowing for seating inside or on an outside patio. With their wraparound windows, customers get a full view of all happenings outside (people-watching is a famous Oceanside pastime). They also have bar seating for those of us who want to minimize our time between drinks Because they have minimal televisions, I would not consider this a "sports bar". Beertown is more of a family-friendly watering-hole that has some excellent pricing deals. I especially love their smashburgers, which are available Every Day. It has a pickled pepperochini relish & bacon jam that is simply decadent! You get a hint of sweet, heat & savory in every bite. On Tuesdays it's all about their tacos for $2.50! Their blackened mahi fish taco sells out fast. Their pork belly is another favorite and they even have a vegetarian option with artichoke & mushroom; and all of them are flavorful. Wednesdays are all about their $.75 chicken wings and they have a great selection available. I recommend mango-habanero, hot honey (get extra sauce) and 7 Siblings Buffalo. I love how Beertown supports other local businesses such as ARTIFEX, Shoots, Northern Pine & 7 Siblings. I really love this place and can't recommend it enough and hope that everyone gets to experience all that they have to offer in Oceanside. read more

The coconut shrimp: super crunchy and perfect dunked in the coconut sauce. Giant Pretzel - it's a classic go-to with my kiddo and us adults always enjoy it too. And you can't go wrong with a stone ground mustard and beer cheese. Thai Chili Wings - all the yesss! Crispy, but still moist on the inside. Beertown recently sponsored the Surfer Girl Pro in Oceanside and seeing the advertisements reminded that I have only been a few times back when it opened and should probably head back in and give it another try! So glad I did! Happened to go on wing Wednesday. They had some delicious smoked wings that paired awesome with my IPA! They have tons of beers on tap and almost any kind you can think of! The bartender/manager Mary is super cool. She knows which beers to recommend and how to pair them with the food. She is super friendly and personable! The one thing I always rate when deciding if I'll come back somewhere is the bathroom and their bathroom was 5/5! lol The spot is good vibes and good people. We were so excited to check this place out due to the high reviews. They have a great selection of beers. Unfortunately, we never received our food order. We arrived and seated ourselves on the patio per the "seat yourself" sign. A server let us know he would be with us shortly. He came back with water and took our food order. After 40 minutes of waiting for our food, he let us know that the kitchen was backed up and they ran out of fish - which was in both of the menu items that we chose. We both chose something different from the menu. We waited for another 30 minutes with no update on our food. We found our server and asked him for an update. He mentioned it would be a few more minutes even though we had already waited over an hour for our food to come out. By this point, we were already hungry and decided to pay for our drink order and go somewhere else to eat. He apologized for the wait and mentioned that they were understaffed. This place was definitely understaffed, so I don't blame the employee. He was one person who was serving and bussing the tables. There were several tables around us that never got bussed. Chill new spot on Coast highway, a close walk from the downtown area. They have a sizable patio area with garage door openings that make half of the indoor seating nice and airy. I usually don't like sitting right in front of live performers, but Matt McCoy was performing that afternoon and made sure the volume wasn't slapping us. He played a series of covers very well, definitely worth checking out! Service was great, despite being a bit disjointed. We couldn't find our server when we needed him, but others were always around to help us. Nothing bad on our sever though, he was super friendly. Beer was pretty decent. They have rotating taps from craft breweries that you wouldn't normally come across. Food was not good. Our pretzel nuggets were stale and tasted like someone microwaved them from frozen. They have indoor and outdoor seating options, so it's nice to have choices. The beer list is great as it has some interesting options. They had cider too. Their food was quite tasty as well. The lady behind the counter told me their Smashburger said come well done.
