We stopped at Baba Coffee for a quick break since we had just arrived at Carlsbad. The coffee shop is clean. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered; - Iced caramel -Pour over Coffee -Earl Grey Tea -Empanadas The iced caramel was refreshing. Empanadas was not authentic. It was just a basic coffe shop. The staff were very nice and friendly.

I needed a caffeine boost so I decided to go to Baba Coffee. It was my first time there...sure glad I came across this cute spot. Anything that says "Good Vibes", I'm down. Baba is mostly outdoors and the inside is nicely decorated with fresh flowers scattered around. I ordered the Praline Goddess Latte and not too long afterwards it was ready...timely service I must say. I was hoping for my latte to be on the sweet side by requesting a triple pump but it was not what I thought. I found out their coffee beans are sourced from local small farmers and roasted weekly - How awesome is that! This cutesy love nest left an impression on me. I'll be back for the wine bar and live music ;-)

wow this is such a nice place to grab a good cup of coffee and enjoy live music on a Sunday morning. I'll have to come back in the evening and experience a different vibe with a drink :) the upstairs patio is spacious and cozy but I do assume it gets busy in the evenings.

NIce new discovery when I was in Carlsbad recently for the farmers market. I like the variety of spaces in one place, a nice seating area outside, the usual inside and the top area (no laptops allowed, more a chill and/or performance space) and another terrace with views and all very pretty and calm vibe. I went to the above floor to not see laptops so I could draw and drink and there was a woman conducting her business on her laptop and calls. Even though it was specified no laptops. I didn't like that part but since was only she and I it was ok. I would have not stayed or complained if it was a full camping area of laptopers. I am glad that they use that space for mini concerts and gatherings. I really like this coffee shop and the art in the walls and the funny nido d'amore name for the second floor (love nest in Italian). I was very happy with my coffee and my time there.

Went for a quick coffee pick-me up after grabbing some pastries nearby on a Saturday afternoon. So parking can be scarce. The coffee shop was quiet: indie/acoustic music in the background that matched the mellow, chill vibe; no loud baristas or equipment. I ordered a cold brew with coconut and macadamia; it was just ok but glad it wasn't too sweet. Service was good and friendly. I'd say go for the vibes; this place is ideal for some journaling, people-watching, or finishing up some work.

The space is simple and cozy with a few tables to sit and enjoy your drink. It's a nice spot to cool off, relax for a bit, and enjoy a good cup of coffee. Definitely a pleasant place to stop if you're in the area.

Went here for breakfast and tried the avocado toast with egg. It was okay; nothing special, but decent for a basic take on avocado toast. You can choose between scrambled or poached eggs, which is a nice option. The bread was good. I ordered a side of heirloom tomatoes which was tasty. I like how they seasoned it. I would have enjoyed the avocado toast itself if it had some balsamic glaze and the avocado a bit mashed with some zesty flavor and acidity, but I appreciated how fresh tasting everything was. My husband ordered the Granola Bowl and really enjoyed it; he literally devoured every bite. I'd like to come back and try their vegan, vegetarian, and meat empanadas. For drinks, my husband had a black coffee, and I went with the Iced Lemon Ginger Honey. Both were great. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. I also appreciated the variety of outdoor and indoor seating, which made the space comfortable. Parking is available on the street, as there isn't a designated lot here.

The lady taking our order was sweet and explained items further when inquired. I ordered a blended Vanilla Coffee and my friend ordered an iced black coffee, both were great in their own respective flavors. We headed upstairs and it was clean and refreshing with a great view. The windows are slightly tinted and there is an outdoor area upstairs, but it was raining so we didn't use it. Overall good experience.

I've been to Baba Coffee a few times and have always found it to be a relaxing place for a coffee. The coffee is very good. The staff is very friendly. The ambiance is very chilled --- which is exactly what I'm looking for in a cafe. It's very centrally located in Carlsbad so it's a nice jumping off point and stopping to chill point. I haven't tried any of their food so I can't comment on that. I'll be back again.

Baba Coffee and their stunning "Nido d'Amore" Rooftop Lounge are absolutely breathtaking! The atmosphere is matched only by their friendly, attentive, and truly professional service. I had the pleasure of catching and filming my friends, The Soto Six (TRIO), performing live at Baba Coffee, as part of their fantastic Friday night jazz series. This venue is a must-visit for anyone who loves JAZZ or LIVE music of any genre, all while enjoying excellent coffee, delicious pastries, snacks, and a fun, vibrant vibe! 2727 State Street, Carlsbad, CA 92008 or call (760) 994-0666 for info or special event schedule. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm driving up from Las Vegas to the San Diego/Carlsbad area. Huge thanks to Rob and the entire Baba Coffee Team for all your hard work in creating such a special space! Andrew Juras ( Cool JAZZ YouTube Channel ) https://www.youtube.com/@CoolJazzLV

Baba Coffee is one of my go to spots in the village (also happens to be my pup Milo's fav too as he always gets treats when we go)! I finally got around to trying their matcha and it was amazing. They have two different types (sweetened and ceremonial grade) and I opted for the sweetened given I was doing it iced.

We were walking around Carlsbad and I'm glad we decided to check out this coffee shop! I ordered their iced islander latte and I'm a fan! If you like coconut, I highly recommend. We sat inside but their windows are so big it felt like we were outside. Great spot to work at or people watch.

The food is legit, the employees are outstanding, and the atmosphere is pure fun. The beer is good, too, if that matters, after all that. Park for free on the street or in the free City lot directly across from the brewery. The place is much bigger than it looks, with seating inside, a large back patio, and seating along the side patio. The menu offers far more food selections than just about any brewery anywhere and you will quickly notice the Korean influence on the menu. Everything we tried was excellent. The tacos are big and delicious (I preferred the pastor taco over the birria one). The Docent Bowl was incredibly fresh and probably healthy (don't miss the excellent housemade kimchi), and the chicken salad sandwich with tots on the side was delightful. This is real restaurant food and it is very good. The beers are served in these gorgeous goblets and they do flights with very generous pours. I liked all of the beers I tried, especially the darker and boozier ones. When your food order is ready, you receive a text, and then head to the back left side of the rear patio, where the kitchen is located. A small sign here would be helpful because I have to admit I wandered around for a bit looking for the food pickup spot. All of the employees we encountered were extremely helpful and friendly. This is a sign of a business that cares about its workers so thumbs up. Kid friendly, good music on the sound system, plenty of seating, good beer, great food, and free parking. I'm a fan.

We ordered sandwiches from the walk up menu. There are many choices available. The prepared dinner selections looked really good and I look forward to trying those in the future. The sandwich cost was on the higher side. Close to $20 with a tip. The portion was pretty large and the quality was very good so that helped. I also chose ciabatta bread and didn't realize that was an extra $3 until after I saw my receipt. Some upgrades were more clearly marked but I didn't see that one. Really? Or even more depending where you go. Frankly I don't know how anyone can afford it any longer but that's a different story. The new owners still don't even seem to know what they are doing after I would say 3yrs now, maybe even more since taking over this place. I used to love going here, now I go maybe once every 3 months if even that and I know why. The service is not the same, the owners are clueless and the food doesn't taste the same at all. The atmosphere of feeling like you are at home when most everyone but mostly the owner remembered you, would come talk to you, helped you and knew what she was taking about, is all gone. I was there yesterday for one of my favorite sandwiches, meatball sandwich. I like that the meatballs are small, not a size of a baseball or even larger, just perfect size, tasty etc. I go up to the register and instead of his clueless wife when you ask her a question and she looks at you as if you're from another planet then has to go and ask one of her employees which that in itself looks totally bad, this time was her husband who looks to me for now the 4th time through the year I visited, that should just stick to staying in the gym since he looks like someone that takes care of himself that way, quite fit, and although nothing at all with that, perhaps leave the deli part of it to someone else and go back to working out instead, it seems his forte. When I told him the sandwich I wanted, he clearly said to me "what would you like with the sandwich" a question I was never asked before because it simply came with a small bag of chips or pasta salad, so I asked what did the sandwich come with, "it comes" the word that he used "it comes with", not "extra charge" and he mentioned French fries, bag of chips while he pointed where the chips were, pasta salad. I said, "I'll try the French fries". Not ONE TIME he said to me that none of the items he mentioned to me were extra charge, I even told him, "oh they come with all that you just told me"? He said yes. When I paid the total came to $24 dollars, the sandwich itself was $13.65 and a coke that I ordered was $3, how did it get to $24? Well, the French fries were extra cost. Had I chosen a bag of chips, the once he pointed at were also extra charge just like if I ordered pasta salad, I found out about the extra charge from the lady that brought me the sandwich and I asked why my bill was $24 dollars, SHE, not the owner told me about the extra charges. After I said to her, "why didn't or doesn't the owner tell you so instead of saying that these extras come with the sandwich" she looked at me and said "I don't know". She didn't even know however any of the prices of the sandwich they sell. These are the new employees now. I know you are going to think why I didn't ask right away why my bill was $24 dollars. I didn't even think about it immediately, I was hungry at this point, the place was quite busy and I wanted to find a place to sit, no excuse, but didn't think about it right away. Not until I set down and then started thinking about why my bill was higher. That was my fault. I should have immediately asked and actually I should have gone to the owner afterwards and mentioned to him that he should tell the customers correctly, meaning do NOT SAY "IT COMES WITH" that means IS NOT EXTRA CHARGE. He needs to say that wherever we want with it, there is an extra, then up to the customer if he/she wants it or not. The sandwich did not taste like the way it used to taste, meatballs still small but they were very salty, and the fries although I will say cooked pretty nice, crispy and all, a very small portion and also very salty. Overall and sadly for me because I truly liked this place a lot with the previous owner, it's not a place I would go back to. The prices are as high and now higher than any other place nowadays, nothing spectacular, their bakery department is now very limited, used to be huge and very nice selections, they used to have a pastry chef in the back that made the best deserts, and I don't know if they also changed cook, but nothing tastes the same. The place is always very busy, so I am sure I won't be missed, I won't waste my money here again. The new owners should by now know what they sell, know how to interact with customers better, know the job they took over. The owners before were absolutely wonderful and great to talk to, they would interact with you ask you if everything was ok, great service from the staff. I miss them and the new owners really need to step up, it's time. The place also very dirty on floors, tables, trash cans totally disgusting and filthy.
