I ordered the XL Pastrami and cheese sandwich which may have been a mistake. I was just at Parlor Doughnuts. I didn't know this sandwich was going to be so loaded. Most places serve tiny sandwiches but mine was huge. They don't cheat you on the meat. The bread was soft and fresh. Service was really good. I ate at the bar and charged my phone while I ate. I should have known the food was good and portions because the place was full of Marines. They know where to get good food and leave with a full belly. When in Oceanside I will definitely be back. I'll have to try some other locations too. read more

It's a simple sandwich, but they did it well. We sat outside since it was a beautiful sunny day, which made for a really relaxed and enjoyable lunch. The service was fine, though nothing particularly memorable. Because it's a more casual setup, you order at the counter, pick up your own drinks, and then a server brings the sandwich to your table using the number they give you. Since we were sitting outside, it didn't really feel like traditional table service and no one came out to check in, but the system worked for the type of place it is. I have come here in the past on a very busy night during happy hour and the service took only 10 minutes so when I returned on a quiet SLOW (we were the only two customers in the place) Monday night I thought our food would be quick again. WRONG. It took 30 MINUTES for two Reuben sandwiches to be made. I was so upset my the time the food came because it took so long for no reason. There were 3 employees in the establishment so not like that would have been an issue. The sandwiches were okay. Not toasted for long enough. My family and I decided to spend a day in Oceanside and wanted to take some sandwiches and goodies with us on the beach for lunch. Yelp led us to Beach Hut Deli and they definitely did not disappoint. We called our order in ahead of time for pickup. The process was easy and the staff member we spoke with on the phone to place the order was friendly and patient with our questions. The estimated pickup time of our order was accurate and extremely easy to retrieve. The inside space was themed well and had ample seating for any customers looking to dine in. Our sandwiches were a good size and appropriately filled with the components of the sandwiches we ordered. Our order consisted of - Beach Comber (with turkey and roast beef) - Santa Cruz My sandwich was the Santa Cruz and was well constructed and tasty. I was able to eat it in two servings, so the sandwich definitely had the potential for sharing. Ingredients tasted of good quality and were fresh. Solid sandwich! Prices were a little high, but I understand that is given based on the location, especially their location, since they have a prime spot not too far from the beach. Beach Hut Deli is a quality sandwich spot in Oceanside. We would likely return in the future if we were in the mood for sandwiches on the beach again. The restaurant is very cute with the surf board theme all over. The staff were friendly & food came out fast even though it was packed with groups of young military men that day. My husband really enjoyed his turkey & cranberry sandwich. I was low carbing it when we went so I had to order a salad. The buffalo chicken salad was alright. Forget subway, Jersey Mike's and the others. I'm now a Beach Hut Deli fan!!! I ordered an x-large "north shore" sandwich to split with my partner and we were so happy It was a HUGE sandwich for only $18.95, which is a much better deal than buying two separately. It was literally stuffed with tons of meat and cheese.... Just like the picture. Not sure who will make your sandwich here, nor can I guarantee it will be as wonderful as my experience. Updating my review however my score remains the same. This time I tried a hot sandwich. The sunburn. It was really good but I was disappointed that I ordered with added cream cheese and there was no cream cheese to be found. It's pretty annoying to pay extra for something on a takeout order and it not be there. I did say I wouldn't come back last time so shame on me. My son and husband got the standard cold subs like last time and they were very meh so I do recommend trying a hot one! The ranch was really good too. $50 for 3 sandwiches that didn't include what I paid extra for is kinda steep for what you get. Better than subway but I think Jersey mikes is a very similar quality for less money read more

We were craving sandwiches and saw the reviews for Beach Hut Deli. Pleasantly surprised by the engaging staff. One of the staff members, Shawn, told us that he moved here from the bay. Told us this beach life was what he wanted and sandwiches to him are his art pieces. I'd have to admit, they make a damn good looking sandwich taste just the way it looks. They make very nice sandwiches here but they've got other food, too, and plenty of local draft beers. The location is excellent, just a few blocks from the pier or the beach. It's all street parking, and it can get tight at times, but you'll find something if you look, although you may have to walk a couple of blocks. They were slammed when we came in and the counter folks gave us and everyone else who walked in time estimates for the food. That is good service and smart. My Santa Cruz sandwich was very fresh. It comes with pastrami, avocado, bacon and cream cheese (plus, all the normal fixin's--tomatoes, onions, lettuce, etc.). The roll was fine, and it was very fresh, but it was a little boring. They give you PLENTY of meat. They also use cream cheese on a number of their sandwiches, which is a little bit different that most places, but who doesn't love cream cheese on almost anything? You set me down with cream cheese and a spoon and I'm good. The menu has a ton of different sandwich creations or you can just create your own. There is plenty of inside seating and a good outdoor-sized patio, too. People watching is great in this spot. I'd be happy to return to try some of their other concoctions. read more
