First timer here! Came on a Saturday evening and there was about a 15 to 20 minute wait. It actually went pretty quick to be honest. We sat downstairs in a table, booth combo. Our waiter was pretty cool, although his name is escaping me now. We ordered a few appetizers, wings, steak taquitos, and the pretzel. We noshed on these before we ordered our meals of bison burger, and two single patty smash burgers. Not sure if it's because it was around 7:30/8 o'clock at night, but the food was not up to par according to the two that I was with, who frequent this place. The steak taquitos tasted a tad overdone, but still pretty good since it was the first time I've had them. The pretzel was really good, but the dipping sauces not so good. I still cannot figure out why one of them was a hot caramel sauce. I have never put caramel on my pretzel and it tasted like crap to be honest. The queso must've been the bottom of the pot because it was hard and kind of burnt tasting, so pretty disappointed in the pretzel choice. Our meals came and honest to God the Smashburger looked like a kids meal. This tiny burger plopped on a big white plate with onion rings, and the burger was not good. The bison burger did not have any of the sauces on it that it stated in the menu so he needed to ask for some love on the burger. So the waiter brought over a bunch of sauces. It's a shame because they talk about this place all the time and I really wanted to try it and it just wasn't up to par. I ended up taking my Smashburger home, and the next day I scraped the nasty sauce off it, added mayonnaise to the bun and an extra slice of cheese and it was actually pretty good. We both enjoyed the buffalo cauliflower appetizer. My wife loved her chicken salad entree. My chicken breast BLT sandwich was kinda meh and small for $14. It comes with potato chips, but I didn't see that indicated on the menu. So, I ordered fries, which were another $4. Menu choices are kinda limited from my perspective. Employees were friendly. Cons: Parking is often difficult in downtown Oceanside--we parked two blocks away on a Saturday afternoon. They have second floor outdoor dining, but the ocean view is now completely gone with all the condos they've built. The check came to over $100 (with tip) for a very average meal with two beer/wine drinks each. As such, we won't be back. Just nothing compelling there to motivate us to do so. Locals are obviously NOT their target anyway. This could be defined as a typical beach area bar hang with limited food choices for tourists who aren't expecting value. read more

Finney's is overall a great stop in downtown Oceanside, if you're looking for overall great vibes, goooood food AND good cocktails. We were in town for a socccer tournament and with the help of the host & manager. They were able to sit us last minute (few hours notice) for a party of 35+ people. They were understanding helpful patient and really this services was outstanding no issues with food, our drinks and food came out in good item. We even got a little sprinkle Of rain on the top patio. On the patio was it's on restrooms, bars and very open space. Kid/family friendly is was a good time to have our team together. My family and I came here for Happy Hour 3-5pm after our short road trip from Santa Ana. We very happy with our choice! Food was great, beers were cold and refreshing. Every bite was satisfying! Sports bar/brewery with a lot of TV's making it great for game days. Pretty large food menu and craft beers, rotating taps and cocktails. We ordered wings, sauce on the side because they were not able to accommodate a half/ half order unless we ordered plain wings and put the sauce on ourselves. Protein quality was good, sauces were middle of the road (we tried habanero buffalo and yuzu buffalo). Service was good when we were able to get the bartenders attention. It wasn't busy by the time we arrived (8pm), yet service was slow and inconsistent. We would go back for game days simply because they have the most TV's of anyplace we've tried in Oceanside so far. It has brewery vibes even though it's a restaurant. Pretty good sports crowd. Street parking only, like most places in the area. read more

We stopped by Finney's Oceanside on July 4th while looking for a place that was open due to the Independence Day festivities that weekend. Having previously been to the one up in Orange, we decided that this was the best place to go. We were seated right away on the rooftop deck with a pleasant view of the downtown area. Our server was very patient with us and once we were able to find an order that we both liked (we were both exhausted from the San Diego County fair) our food was delivered to us in under 10 minutes. Our meals were both very well done in terms of quality and presentation. The biggest issue that we had is that because there is so much corn on the menu and because we generally avoid corn whenever possible due to dietary restrictions it seemed to really minimize what we could get as even most salads had corn inside of it. The portions provided were perfect for the two of us and the bison burger in particular was delivered to my exact cooking specification. What's interesting is that this restaurant does not include any sides in terms of their menu offerings so what feels like a discount when you see a burger for $13 to $15 you actually make up for by having to spend 4 to 6 dollars on a side. Well, I understand that this may be easier for them with some of their customers. It is not a trend that I enjoy seeing as ultimately the prices are not as cheap as you would expect. They were a bit busier than expected on the holiday, but that's because so many other restaurants were closed so it looks like a large part of the crowd went to Oceanside as well just to go to Finney's. Overall, we enjoyed our experience, but the menu having limited options if anyone has a hard time with corn really puts a damper on it along with having to pay for the sides separately makes for a weird experience. Even with those in mind, I still give it four stars. read more

Maddi at the upstairs bar during Friday happy hour was an absolute machine, handling everyone without breaking a sweat. My girlfriend and I lucked out with zero wait and got a skinny house margarita, a guava margarita, coconut shrimp, and chicken and waffles. The coconut shrimp is non-negotiable, you have to order it. Burgers and wings are great too. It's clean, family-friendly, plenty of seating inside and out, so just budget extra time for parking because, well, Oceanside. Went here yesterday for a late lunch. They have a rooftop seating option that was perfect since the weather was so nice. It has a great view of the city! We got the Prosciutto and Arugula flatbread, which was very thin and crispy. The truffle fries were really good and we had them with their chipotle aioli. We also both got raspberry lemonades which were very sweet and refreshing. The coconut shrimp was really really good. My boyfriend was obsessed. This Finney's is not quite up to snuff compared to the Finney's in Orange. Triple Smash Burger had good flavor. Fried pickles were lacking in flavor. Others in our party said the tater tots and the Finney burger had a weird taste to it (and they frequent the one by Chapman College). Service was somehow fairly fast but unattentive. I wouldn't come back to this location when eating in Oceanside. Other better restaurants here. read more

It turned out to be a great choice for a casual, family-friendly meal. We started with the coconut shrimp and the buffalo cauliflower, both were good. I went with the mahi tacos for lunch which were great. The kids all ordered cheeseburgers off the kids' menu and were totally happy with their meals. The adults sampled a few different beers, and with such a large beer menu, there was plenty to try. Since it had started to rain, we grabbed a table inside, but they also have a large outdoor patio that would be perfect on a nicer day. Friday night happy hour, Finneys had a good crowd going upstairs and down, but we were seated on the rooftop patio right away. I love the vibe upstairs, even without a true ocean view because of the surrounding hotels. The spunky server in the black converse was so cheerful and we got great service. Started with a Raspberry Smash, a delicious muddled vodka and prosecco drink. A nice smear of sugar on the rim and side, it was tasty sweet and refreshing. I only had one, but I would have enjoyed more. Husband had a beer which was part of his dinner combo order. Our happy hour dinner included the bacon deviled eggs, yummy and easy to pick off the candied bacon and move it to his egg. They were a standard deviled egg with a smear of creamy yolk underneath to keep them on the plate. A drizzle of sriracha garnished the plate. I ate it all, pushing the eggs around to wipe up the yolk and sriracha. Smile. Moving on, Husband ordered the Finney's Burger and fries for his entree. This is a $16 value option with an included beer or soda. This was a nice thick burger, cooked exactly to medium rare. Husband had to compliment the chef when the manager stopped by to check in with us, because it is DIFFICULT to get a medium rare burger right and this one was PERFECT. Topped with cheese, pickled onions, lettuce and tomato it was a good value and good quality. Big fluffy brioche bun was appreciated to soak up all those rare meat juices. My meal was the steak taquitos, a delicious pile of pico on top of four large rolled corn tortillas filled with a bit of beef. Some tri tip beef according to the menu. Not a lot of filling, mostly corn tortilla, but still tasty and filling. Chipotle aoli on the side tasted sharp, and was traded to husband for his sweeter chipotle catsup which I preferred. But the roasty salsa that accompanies this dish is AWESOME and I asked for more. The manager himself brought it over. Although I would have loved another Raspberry Smash, we kept our dinner bill to $40 by not ordering another round. So dining economically can be done in Oceanside, if you get there before 5pm for happy hour!! read more

Ill always remember that burger being bomb. Trued those new steak fajitas and wasnt the biggest fan. Steak was overcooked , asked for medium. Alot of fatty pieces. Got more than well done. Had to try out the new item tho. Chicken and waffles were pretty tasty, sold as appetizer, mot too bad. Got the pepperoni pizza, crust was pretty rock hard, I understand its a flatbread but the pepperonis were basically burnt and the crust was like a cracker. We came here after watching a movie and were excited they had happy hour. No one was at the host stand so we wondered to the bar. We found 2 spots at the end, and hoped we could move to the table top behind.... The bartender said we'd have to ask the host. Once again after glancing by the entrance there wasn't anyone there.. so we opted to stay at the bar. I had the guava margarita which had no guava taste whatsoever and was extremely disappointed. My friend really liked her drink though. It was rather annoying as one bartender kept splashing us as she made drinks, and at one point it was so bad that we both let out an " ohh my" while she just looked at us. No apology, as our faces were dripping with liquid. I have sat it front of many bartenders in my life and I have NEVER had any of them be so careless. I actually like this place but also loved it when it used to be Cabo Grill too. The customer service wasn't that bad and the servers were really nice and attentive. I came to Finney's for the first time tonight and was really impressed. First off, the restaurant is extremely large. They have giant space at the main level, with a huge bar and big screens in the middle. Then, if you take a short walk upstairs (they also have an elevator), you'll be on their beautiful rooftop patio overlooking downtown. We came about 6pm on a Wednesday and only waited about 10-15 minutes for a great table on the rooftop patio. Our server was very professional, kind and knowledgeable about the menu! The food and drinks were fantastic. I personally loved the avocado egg rolls, that came with two equally delicious sauces. I love that they have a wide variety of beers, cocktails and even zero proof mocktails too. Overall my first experience at Finney's was an A+ and I look forward to my next visit again soon! read more

I rolled out to the beach for a really nice sunset. Saw Finney's Crafthouse and went in. I was greeted by the friendly staff, told I may sit where I please....ambiance is the beach vibe. The craft beers are very good. The Bison burger (one of the favorites) melts in your mouth along with sweet potato fries. Rounded out it all out with a mixed berry mojito. There are so many combinations you can come up with and the food is great every time, very delicious. You cannot go wrong go to Finney's. read more

I was on vacation with my family in Oceanside today and went to Finney's for lunch. I ordered two different dishes, but they told me they were out of chicken for those specific items. I was completely understanding and chose something else. I ordered the barbecue chicken pizza, and when it arrived, I immediately knew something wasn't right. There was no barbecue sauce on it--just a light red sauce--but I still gave it a try, thinking maybe it was just a different style. It was extremely spicy and tasted nothing like a barbecue chicken pizza. It was by far the worst one I've ever had; it tasted more like a chopped hot-wing pizza. I ate a couple of small slices to give it a fair chance, and I was also very hungry. When the server came by and asked how everything was, I explained my concerns and why I hadn't eaten much of it. She said, "Oh, the spiciness might be from the chili," and then asked if I wanted a to-go box. I didn't want to be rude, but my thought was: if it were good enough to take home, I would have eaten it. She didn't even acknowledge my concern, offer any type of credit, or suggest speaking with a manager. In the end, I took the pizza because nothing was done to address the issue, and I threw it away in the trash can right outside the restaurant. It wasn't just the food that disappointed me--it was the poor, careless customer service as well. read more
