    Pasty mac & cheese
    Jessica J.

Nope! Ordered takeout from Uber. French dip, mac & cheese and a cookie. The $18 French dip was a couple slices of roast beef. Au Ju sauce container was not sealed and leaked on everything, and cookies we're soggy... they soaked up most of the Au Ju. The mac & cheese was the worst I've had. It seams they made a rue but used too much flour, the cheese sauce was pasty. I will not be ordering from here again

I am already a fan of the food here. I first discovered them when they were in the islands food court off Faraday in Carlsbad. Unfortunately, that location closed, but another location opened in San Elijo. Their sandwiches are nostalgic to me because they taste like one my favorite sourdough spots from the Bay Area. When I heard this new location was opening and I saw a flyer for the grand opening, I decided to attend. Upon arriving, there was already a long line of about 60 people. It was pretty rainy, but the line was under an awning so it was OK. It moved pretty quickly. Since I am familiar with the menu, I already knew what I was going to get, which is the turkey pastrami with everything. The person at the counter taking the orders was very nice and explained things to everyone who hadn't been before. I'm old-fashioned so I like mayo and mustard and usually skip the house spread. I added a chocolate chip cookie and drink to my order. There were quite a few tables and people were coming and going constantly so seating wasn't bad for the crowd size. When they called my number, I grabbed my order and sat down. My sandwich was nice and toasty from the nice warm bread, which was great after being a little bit chilled. My sandwich tasted great and exactly as I remembered it from other times at other locations. I did not know that they are all franchised but that is apparently the case. I'm glad it's here. It's a perfect stop for a sandwich and I love that they have 4, 6 and 8 inch sizes to choose from, so, no matter how hungry you are you have a choice. I'll probably even be back this week.

Saw this new sandwich shop and decided to give it a try. Service was pleasant and easy to order at the counter. We got a turkey sandwich and a french dip. We were told the bread is made fresh daily on site. The bread was great, however, there was no fresh baked bread smell. It was a beautiful day so we chose to sit outside. There are umbrellas to shade you from the sun. We look forward to visiting again and trying something different.

The food is absolutely delicious! Some may say the sandwich size is on the small side but to me it's quality over quantity. My usual order is the New England chowder in a bread bowl. The bread is fresh and warm. The chowder is outstanding. The owners are super friendly as well. I feel lucky to have this place in my neighborhood.

Came here for the grand opening, and although the line was long, and went fairly quick. I'm glad I chose to stay and not leave, since when we finally got inside and ordered our sandwich it was quite delicious! I'm a huge sourdough bread fan and that fact the bread was warm and crunchy made the sandwich even more yummy. The staff were super sweet and very welcoming amidst the craziness which was nice. I will definitely be back soon.

We are so happy to see Sourdough&Co in SoCal! This restaurant is seriously so good- you can always count on a fresh sourdough baguette or cookie! The sandwiches are so tasty and the restaurant is very neat. Their sandwiches are comforting because they are consistently delicious. The salads too are generous- with sourdough croutons. I've been going to Sourdough &Co since high school and I've never been disappointed! Carlsbad- enjoy your new fave spot!

I'm a fan of the fantastic and kind service and outdoor sitting area. The food is an upgrade from any large brand sandwich spots.

I love all of their locations. The Carlsbad spot has a slightly more extensive menu -- especially with the pizzas -- but the Encinitas location is just as good and always worth the stop. My personal favorites are the ham and gruyère baguette and the Pizza Florentine, and their cookies are dangerously good. And if you're a coffee person, you'll be happy here -- their espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos are consistently great. It's simply a gem of a local spot for really good bread, coffee, and casual bites.

Great variety, stores well in the freezer. The viennoiseries are a combination of classic and unique, and amazing: you have to try their fig bar! Do not try their almond and chocolate croissant though, please. Otherwise they will ran out and I won't be able to get mine. I compared their regular butter croissant with other "French" ones, and this one wins by a huge margin: airy, fluffy, just enough sweetness. They recently expanded in their main location, now you can get a sandwich, coffee and pizza. They also collaborate with other local vendors and you can find some unique items in their fridge. The vibe is so cool too. Friendly, chill, California style. Highly recommend this place, or their other locations.

The food is always so good. The young man who took our order was nice. My daughter and I sat at a table and got our drinks. I ordered 3 sandwiches, 2 to sit and eat and the 3rd to take home to my son. He loves board and brew. The problem began when Ashley, a worker came to our table and gave us two baskets with half a sandwich in each baskets. I told her "Sorry but this sandwich is not ours, I ordered 3 sandwiches, she looks at me and rolls her eyes and say,"No you didn't you guys are sharing one sandwich" Again I tried to tell her and she has the nerve to say "Look I'm trying to make you understand that you guys are sharing a sandwich, she turns to walk off and I grab my receipt. I told her here is my receipt, I hand it to her and the only thing she says, "well I guess someone made a mistake. She gives me the receipt and walks away???? No apology! Ashley's tone and demeanor was so disrespectful and I truly don't understand why she acted this way. She was so confrontational, I don't understand why? I've never encountered such a rude employee at board and brew to the point my daughter was tearing up, how rude she was to us. Another young man came to bring us the correct order. I thanked him and asked him what was the young ladies name? He told me "Ashley, Why? I didn't want to upset my daughter anymore, by telling him what just happened. I just told him, I want to know her name. I couldn't eat my lunch, I was so upset my daughter was so upset. We grabbed our lunches and went home. I've never been talked that way and so rudely. This type of unpleasant and unprofessional behavior & attitude is uncalled for. Do better board and brew. I'm so disappointed and will never spend my money at this location, ever again.

I was soooo excited about the Philly connection, as I'm very familiar with cheesesteaks having lived near Philly in a past life. Well, I was sorely disappointed. We were told that the bread is flown in daily from Philly. Well, I don't know where it's coming from because it's definitely not the same bread as what they normally use there. The sandwich and meat were dry and flavorless. Totally underwhelming unfortunately. So then we saw that they made key lime pie there too! Again, I was SUPER excited because key lime pie is my favorite dessert of all time. And again...disappointment. I took one glance and saw that it was light green in color and knew I was gonna be mad. Yall, Key lime pie is yellow. You should NEVER add food coloring. That's just gross and inaccurate. The texture and flavor were also off. Texturally it was way too thick and dense, which would have been fine if it actually tasted like key lime. But it was severely lacking in that tart key lime flavor that it's known for. I'd definitely go back because of the service and vibe. But I'll maybe try a burger and the cheesecake instead.

We arrived around 7ish to a full house and although they close at 8pm, they were still happy to serve us despite a 20-30 min wait prepping other orders, and they did not rush us to leave finishing our dinner. The chicken was delicious crispy, juicy and flavorful and was def the highlight of the meal along with carrot cake. The variety of sauces made something for everyone even though the chicken didn't even need sauce. The mild sauces were a hit for our fam. They offer soda water alongside regular water and fountain drinks which was highly appreciated, we are a bubbly fam! I love the idea of the coconut rice but also offering plain white rice would be a great option, as well as fresh steamed veggies or a side salad option. The elote mac and cheese didn't quite hit the spot for me but I would try the regular mac next time! The dining room had indoor and outdoor option, love the casual concrete dining style. They were super mindful of cleaning tables for new folks to sit down among the busy dining room. Plenty of parking in the lot but can see it getting full quickly as it seems to be a relavtively new plaza with more food biz still opening up. Would come back again for the chicken and try some of the other sides!
