I ordered two sandwiches online. One of the sandwiches came with everything listed on the description on the website, but apparently for the other sandwich you are expected to individually select each ingredient that's already listed in the description yourself or else they won't add it to the sandwich. It really doesn't make sense as to why I would be expected to do this for one sandwich and not the other. I drove all the way back to the restaurant and was patient even when they told me about this inconsistency on the website. However, my main disappointment regarding this experience comes from the staff trying to tell me the original sandwich I received was correct. Apparently the website voids every ingredient that is supposed to come on the sandwich when you pay for extra add-ons, however my original sandwich was STILL missing the add-ons I paid for (avocado and cheese) and included the skimpiest amount of bacon, even though I paid for 3X bacon. On top of that, the size of the bread was half that of my other sandwich, which is supposed to be the same size. The girl at the counter tried to tell me it was because my other sandwich had more veggies (even though they were both supposed to have the same amount) but I really don't think that should affect the size of bread they give you. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability and the staff trying to convince me my sandwich was right when we were all looking right at it. It honestly was just the weirdest experience because they were all staring at the open face sandwich trying to tell me it had the ingredients I paid for. Even if they claim I was supposed to add the original ingredients manually myself, it STILL was missing the extra add-ons they charged me for. It was extremely odd that they kept going back and forth with me instead of admitting their mistake, so I decided to let it go. Lastly, the person whom I'm assuming is the manager re-wrapped the original sandwich for me and said he would make me another one and I could keep the first one. When I went to leave, the girl at the counter gave me grievance over taking both home, as if she either wanted it for herself or she was planning on recycling the ingredients for the next sandwich which I really hope wouldn't be the case for other customers' sake considering I literally took it home and brought it back to show them. Make sure you're insistent with your order, because they'll get it wrong and you have to correct them 4-5 times, and if they get it wrong they'll try to push back that you should actually get something else instead. Food's alright though. read more

First and last visit. Went at noon, relatively not busy. I ordered the #13 turkey and pesto and no house sauce ( mayo based) to go. Received the wrong change back , my order was walked around the tables calling my name. Again , I ordered the sandwich to go. I am already a fan of the food here. I first discovered them when they were in the islands food court off Faraday in Carlsbad. Unfortunately, that location closed, but another location opened in San Elijo. Their sandwiches are nostalgic to me because they taste like one my favorite sourdough spots from the Bay Area. When I heard this new location was opening and I saw a flyer for the grand opening, I decided to attend. Upon arriving, there was already a long line of about 60 people. It was pretty rainy, but the line was under an awning so it was OK. It moved pretty quickly. Since I am familiar with the menu, I already knew what I was going to get, which is the turkey pastrami with everything. The person at the counter taking the orders was very nice and explained things to everyone who hadn't been before. I'm old-fashioned so I like mayo and mustard and usually skip the house spread. I added a chocolate chip cookie and drink to my order. There were quite a few tables and people were coming and going constantly so seating wasn't bad for the crowd size. When they called my number, I grabbed my order and sat down. My sandwich was nice and toasty from the nice warm bread, which was great after being a little bit chilled. My sandwich tasted great and exactly as I remembered it from other times at other locations. I did not know that they are all franchised but that is apparently the case. I'm glad it's here. It's a perfect stop for a sandwich and I love that they have 4, 6 and 8 inch sizes to choose from, so, no matter how hungry you are you have a choice. I'll probably even be back this week. read more

Just tried this place for the first time was disappointed. Sandwich was okay but they forgot the Mac and cheese that paid for as a combo. When I went back to ask about it they filled a small dish and put it in the microwave, still didn't come out hot. Also they said they were out of fountain drinks and sold us a canned soda but the next 3-5 customers got fountain sodas??? The bathroom was out of both TP and paper towels other bathroom was out of order. Two people in a row got their orders and were told they were only charged for one of the two sandwiches they ordered. One waited for the second sandwich the other just took the one (not worth it. Hope they can improve. read more

Nope! Ordered takeout from Uber. French dip, mac & cheese and a cookie. The $18 French dip was a couple slices of roast beef. Au Ju sauce container was not sealed and leaked on everything, and cookies we're soggy... they soaked up most of the Au Ju. The mac & cheese was the worst I've had. Stopped in for lunch and tried a pastrami sandwich and their creamy potato soup (Wednesday and Thursday soup of the day.) The bread was so delicious! Cracker crust on the fresh and fluffy bread, stuffed with warm pastrami and all the fixings. Service was nice and quick and there were plenty of tables inside and outside available. I'm really town between 3 and 4 stars. Overall my sandwich was tasty but the menu wasn't super clear and service wasn't helpful in helping us decide. Prices were also a bit steep. Dined in a Friday around 5 pm. We were the only ones who were in the restaurant at the time. I chose the French dip while my husband chose the brisket sandwich (both off the specialty menu). We were asked what size we wanted - 4, 6, or 8 inch which was strange because the menu only lists one price. Ultimately I chose the 8 while my husband chose the 4. I think mine was a dollar more than the listed price while my husband's was a dollar less so it seems that the 8 inch is the best deal. Had he known this he probably would've chosen the 8 and taken some home. We also added on a drink for 3.49. With tax out total was just shy of 35 dollars which seemed a bit steep. Once we sat down and waited for our food we realized that we could have done a drink and a bag of chips for $3.99 instead of just the drink for for $3.49. I really wish the woman taking our order had guided us a bit more in the different options. I also noticed that there were items promoted that did not appear on the menu and price differences between the wall menu and the handheld menu. We are likely to try again but the prices won't have us rushing back. read more

We are so happy to see Sourdough&Co in SoCal! This restaurant is seriously so good- you can always count on a fresh sourdough baguette or cookie! There was one other person in the shop took them 15 minutes, but they also said that they had to make the chicken salad. Service is not friendly at all. The chicken salad was yellow from an over abundance of mustard. There was one grape cut in half and maybe two. And about five pieces of nuts.. the chickens have so watery. It was dripping like mustard water. I also ordered a side of their mac & cheese, which I do not recommend and it was the worst mac & cheese I've ever had in my life and it was a $20 meal. Don't waste your time our your money. I got the food to go so needless to say I was not about to drive back out through the traffic to ask for a refund, but if I had eaten in the shop definitely would've asked for my money back. i'll give him one star because it was clean. read more
