He suggested the Turkado and it was free and flavorful, good sauce. My only complaint as with most sandwiches everything is like in the center and there's so much empty bread all around the edges. Back to back weekends of SoCal State Cup nearby means I got to visit back to back. We love the Board and Brew in Torrance by us and this one did not disappoint. Friendly staff who was patient with me as I tried to figure out what to order. Split the Italian with my son who later told me he could have eaten the whole thing by himself. Board and Brew has clean, bright, chill beach vibes no matter the location (we've been to three) and the staff all maintain a very friendly chill beach vibe. As always, yummy sandwiches! Especially taking them to like the zoo or something, as what we did. We came at opening. We got the turkado and the Italian. From what I remember (haven't had B&B for a long time! Like 6ish years ago) they spruced up the Italian to include a different meat that closely reflects a real Italian everywhere else. It's amazing! The turkado is one of our favorite. Even though we came at opening, it was weird but one side of the bread of the turkado was old stale bread, it was hard, flakey and you can tell it's been sitting out or old. I've been a fan of Board & Brew for as long as I can remember. This location has a decent amount of seating both indoors and outside plus a sports bar built in so great vibes all around. I've definitely been to this location multiple times, but my last visit really blew me away. We barely waited in line to order because they were so fast! We quickly found a table and within two minutes our sandwiches were out to us. I've never had my sandwich ready that quickly, it was amazing. I ordered my usual turkado and my husband had the Baja chicken. The turkado has been my go-to forever and it did not disappoint. Everything was so fresh and obviously I had to get the sauce. Makes the sandwich a dream. My husband's Baja chicken was honestly really good too. I would almost switch up my order to the Baja chicken I but I really love having guac like the turkado comes with (I know I could add it on but still). First and foremost, I really dislike giving bad reviews, but this needs to be addressed. I took my daughter to lunch and we love the board and brew in Carlsbad village but we were closer to this board and brew on Camino real. The food is always so good. The young man who took our order was nice. My daughter and I sat at a table and got our drinks. I ordered 3 sandwiches, 2 to sit and eat and the 3rd to take home to my son. He loves board and brew. The problem began when Ashley, a worker came to our table and gave us two baskets with half a sandwich in each baskets. I told her "Sorry but this sandwich is not ours, I ordered 3 sandwiches, she looks at me and rolls her eyes and say,"No you didn't you guys are sharing one sandwich" Again I tried to tell her and she has the nerve to say "Look I'm trying to make you understand that you guys are sharing a sandwich, she turns to walk off and I grab my receipt. I told her here is my receipt, I hand it to her and the only thing she says, "well I guess someone made a mistake. She gives me the receipt and walks away???? No apology! Ashley's tone and demeanor was so disrespectful and I truly don't understand why she acted this way. She was so confrontational, I don't understand why? I've never encountered such a rude employee at board and brew to the point my daughter was tearing up, how rude she was to us. Another young man came to bring us the correct order. I thanked him and asked him what was the young ladies name? He told me "Ashley, Why? I didn't want to upset my daughter anymore, by telling him what just happened. I just told him, I want to know her name. I couldn't eat my lunch, I was so upset my daughter was so upset. We grabbed our lunches and went home. I've never been talked that way and so rudely. Frankly they would probably be just as successful without the beer becuase lets face it the beer is a nice touch, but not what people come here for. I was in the alcohol and beer game for years so their selection is good because the local craft beer game is solid. People come here for the sandwiches, more specifically the sauce. DM me for the recipe, the color comes from an unexpected ingredient. The ambiance is pretty chill, the staff is super cool. it's very relaxed. It's busy non stop, all day, but with indoor and outdoor seating it's casual. Despite the sauce being so popular, I find the spicy ranch to be my go to for most sandwiches. Chicken Club with swiss, avo and cream cheese. I find the Italian surprisingly unitalian with ham and turkey. I understand keeping pepperoni, cappicola and other truly italian meats is dififcult, but it's far more American with ham and turkey. Always go Chips bc their potato salad is forgettable. Love this location cuz there's tons of parking and good shade for the outdoor patio. The bar has a good beer selection, the ordering line moves fast, and the staff is friendly. If you've never been you gotta start with their signature Turkado. If that's not your thing, the Italian is the 2nd best on the menu. They have a good kettle chip selection, and they do gift cards. The bar being inside/outside makes this location have a great breeze through the seating area, so it's my favorite to go to. If you're looking for a delicious lunch option, I've got a place. Board&Brew not only tastes amazing and is good quality, but is conveniently located right of the 78 and El Camino. I was there today for lunch and had a great experience. It is very open and has lots of seating. It even has an outdoor space if you want to enjoy the beautiful weather. It was clean and well kept inside. The worker that helped us,Jordan, was very friendly and funny, but more importantly, he got our order all correct. The food came out surprisingly fast--less than 5 minutes! All the sandwiches are delicious but my personal favorite is the beef dip. This place got my order wrong for the 2nd time, and I didn't know until I got home. I saw my order was wrong and overcharged, so I called asking just to get a refund because we don't live the closest and the sandwiches weren't edible due to allergies. They said I would receive a refund back on my card, and it never came through. I saw it pending, then disappeared completely. I talked to my bank, and they said this is because Board & Brew denied releasing the funds after the refund was initiated. Very slimy way to run a business. It's not a diss because I love both companies and plus you can drink here. They keep local brews on station and the breads are always soft. There's to many options to pick from. So you won't get bored and customer service is always chill vibes. They really know how to cut down the line and push out food. Been roughly 5-6 times as my family likes it a lot more than me. Typical sandwich fare. My wife and kids crave the "secret sauce" that you can even buy a separate bottle of for $6-7!! Wife said it doesn't taste the same and not as good for what it's worth. I don't really like it that much so I'm not one to comment. Sandwiches are good, I've tried 3, I think? Turkado and Italian were both pretty good but not any better than other spots in my opinion. This last time I tried something different. I went in on the turkey deluxe which is a typical turkey and cheese with other stuff and topped with sunflower seeds. Before you throw that share my way and question all my "Yelpiness", understand that my reason was the Sandy's are pretty avg to me in first place so it isn't as if I was going to "lose" here. I got out voted on our post-church meal is all. Another reason for giving this deluxe a shot was that it sounded so uninspiring that I convinced myself there's a hidden gem in this bread loaf. Nah. This place tries to make up for taste with atmosphere. It's a great spot to hang out. You can pick up good beers but do not come looking for a good sandwich. I went with their signature. The first thing in the menu, the Turkado. Turkey, avocado, sourdough. Simple but delicious right? Not so much. The thick sliced bread was barely sourdough, the lettuce was wilted, I asked for bacon and jalapeño added and it was there but the bacon was cold and clammy and soggy and the jalapeños were just thrown in without a care for even distribution. The avocado is a tasteless guac and just ruined the sandwich. I stopped to charge my EV in the lot and was excited to visit a local sandwich spot. That was quickly squashed with the less than enthusiastic service and sticky table I sat at as I waited for my food. Too bad. I wanted to like this place but I did not.
