The one we got was the PPR (Black Label) which was a bottle just shy of $100. This boozy darling is great for special occasions which is what it was consumed on Christmas Day. The ABV on this baby is 19%. It was so wonderful and flavorful though and was just right. This particular beer is an Imperial/Double Stout with flavors of coconut, vanilla and bourbon. It was aged to really give it that extra punch. But it was a wonderful beer and one well worth getting. Just save your pennies. I would love to try more of this brewery's beers but the price rag definitely warrants for a special occasion. This brewery once had a taproom but Google says it's permanently closed. The brewery definitely exists still but sounds like it's production only. You can get their beers by using the Tavour app and hope that you live in a state where it can get shipped to you.

Located on the site the old Carlsbad Raceway, Dogleg Brewing is a golf themed brewery teeing up some good beers and vibes. We stopped in early on a Friday afternoon, ahead of their "Golftober Fest" event the following day, to celebrate their version of Oktoberfest. Like many breweries I've recently visited, this brewery is located in an industrial park, with a very large wide open layout, next store... another brewery! What makes Dogleg unique was their Foresight Golf Simulator, as well as a putting green underneath the large Dogleg Brewing Shield, a dog holding a club in their mouth. Loved the concept and branding, thought it was quite unique but since when does beer and golf NOT go together. We were fortunate to talk to the guy in charge of the front of the house (aka the bar), didn't get his name, but very knowledgable and enjoyable to talk to, as we shared beer related thoughts up and down the CA coast and even to Scotland! Yes, some good golf in Scotland too! Between my sister and I we sampled four items form their extensive menu. I started with front nine with "Ko" Low, the NZ pale ale and made the turn with Blind Shot to finish the day. Both beers were well made, crisp and clean over the palate with good hops flavors. The price for a pint was unbelievable and my sister even commented on the $7.50. That's unheard of at many other breweries I go to. So props to Dogleg for keeping beer affordable.
