The people we were with enjoyed their beer, and another bonus is you can bring in your own food. They host dart tournaments and offer trivia on Wednesday. The decor is what you would expect in a brewery and they have their mug club, which is quite popular. The mugs are made by a local artist and are very nice. If you are looking for a new and interesting brewery, give Arcana a shot.

Raul, the owner, was gracious enough to let us stay and have a drink since we were out of towner's and all other breweries open up at 3pm. We chatted a bit about how Guadalupe brewery came about, the beer brewing process, the new pending ACTUAL TASTING ROOM grand opening in Vista and beers on tap. There was a new interesting brew on tap I've never heard of and a medal winner. A hybrid, honey mead and beer mash up. If you've ever had a Mead before, they're sweet and usually in the higher alcohol content level ,which is right up my alley. This particular brew, the Braggot, was 8% alcohol content and not as sweet as a traditional Mead. It was refreshing and definitely hit the spot. Plus, this particular brew was made with the intention of helping out someone in the community in dire need of medical help with tip proceeds going directly to the family. But I was wrong. :( We arrived shortly after a class had started so we could have sat in and while I love learning about beer and doing brewery tours when traveling, not knowing what beers they serve was a big turnoff. Their website is a single page and doesn't list anything. :( we skipped on the class and headed to another brewery - Black Plague.. With a gazillion breweries in San Diego (okay, 160 or more) you have to be on your game. They may or may not have good beer but I'll never know until they post what they brew or become a public brewery. But of a bummer because I really wanted to try their beer.

It was an easy choice to take our pups out for a low key and intimate birthday celebration. We picked up doggie cupcakes at Dexters and went to Second Chance to enjoy a beer and local bbq. We both chose the Tabla Rosa on draft - it's tried and true. Although, I would love to see the Coco Rosa on tap here, it is one of my all time favorite. We will continue to support as they give back to dog rescues. I was…read moredisheartened to see the San Diego loan close but I am glad to see that the brewery still exists in Vista. Now, onto the good stuff. The beer that Steve and I tried! We had the Just Add Plants which is an IPA which is West Coast style. In the flavor profile you can find hoppiness, bitterness, maltiness, piney flavors with a crisp aftertaste. A nice, refreshing IPA and was a well suited one for me and the craving of summer 2025 where sitting down to an IPA just sounds fantastic!
