This place used to be good but since their head brewer left it has been very subpar. The last few beers I have tried have been very generic and lacked body and flavor. Even their core beers have lost their appeal. It seems like they are cutting corners to save on costs or something. read more

We went to the original one like 7 years ago in San Clemente. We're out of the beer game now but saw that they opened up one in Oside. Killing some time before dinner at Tanner's, we came to check it out. The place is a decent size tap room, with a nice little outdoor seating in the back. Plenty seating inside with tables, booth and the bar. They even have a window to the pizza place next door for food. We have yet to try it. I got their Sundream Hazy IPA. I haven't had a hazy in forever and when I tried theirs, it all came back to me as to why I used to love drinking a good hazy. It was crisp and refreshing. Delicious! We had a slightly uncomfortable experience. When we tried to use our vouchers for a beer, the staff made us feel awkward. We didn't even finish our drinks because it just felt odd. Although, both the beer and seltzer were very tasty! On top of that, several customers were staring at us when we walked in and it felt a bit unsettling. The restroom was also left unflushed and unclean. Overall, not a great experience at this location, which is such a bummer because I have had wonderful experiences at other locations. After a difficult week, I was really hoping to relax and have a nice evening. That said, I do really love the San Clemente location and have had much better experiences there. Will definitely be returning to the San Clemente location! read more

I do treasure this south O tasting room ever so splendidly for a perfect amount of reasons. It's not just that this Brewery, out of San Clemente, brews some damn straight righteous beers (Artifexican and Trigger Finger can't be beat!!), and that the space is just perfectly nestled in south O on Vista Wy in the Tremont collective with Little Fox and Tanners etc... BUT more than anything it's the damn bartenders who keep it alive and lively. Just saying... you give it a go... say hi to the homies for me! read more

Service: 10 - I had a seat at the bar and sipping beer in less than 2 minutes Beer: 10 - Orange You Different, hazy IPA. Very good, I will return to try more beers. I was in town a few weeks ago and my friends took me to Artifex for a drink. I loved seeing that it was dog-friendly and that there were a good amount of people during the week. I got the Busty Lush, which was delicious and low ABV. The staff recommended it when I mentioned I wasn't much of a drinker. Both guys behind the bar were extremely knowledgeable and engaging. I didn't partake in the food but thought it was awesome that you could order from Corner Pizza next door. The reason I'm giving a two star review was because of one of the staff. I'm not sure if this is an owner, but it was an older man wearing a polo. He walked in, immediately stepped behind the bar, and asked the staff about money with a gruff tone in front of customers, which was unprofessional. The staff working there went from bubbly and conversational to quiet and downtrodden when he was there. It was a weird situation to watch unfold and took away from the otherwise laidback vibes myself and the other patrons were enjoying. Hopefully, in the future, that type of discussion can take place away from customers and in a manner that is respectful towards the staff. read more

Visited this brewery down the street from my sisters house,I'm from the Inland Empire. Had the red,Mexican lager,an IPA and the stout. Every beer was right on and refreshing. I especially liked Infinite Layers their pastry stout,thick and tasty. What an awesome brew to end the night. I just had to take a four pack home. I'll be sure to visit Artifex again the next time I'm in Oceanside cuz I'll have to take another four pack of Infinite Layers home. Great job guys , see ya next time. read more
