    Cenote Mexican-style lager was decent.

I don't think I have ever been to a tiki-themed brewery before but I love all things tiki so we're off to a good start.. Double Peak Brewery (RIP) used to be at this location but Michi has done an outstanding job of making it look and feel festive and tiki-themed. They have also made it much more spacious. I first went with the Cenote Mexican lager. It was decent and definitely had the characteristics of the style but it wasn't my favorite Mexican-style beer ever. I also tried the Oatmeal Stout. This one was much more flavorful and was, frankly, delicious. Mine was served ice cold and the flavor got better and better as it warmed up a little. The workers here are very friendly and the place is bright and cheery. They also have interesting food trucks or vendors all the time. There is plenty of parking in the lot or on the street nearby. This place is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Great little brewery that is off the beaten path, they have a cool tropical theme going on and good beers on tap. I tried their Mythosaur fruited ale, it was pretty strong, crisp and very good. Their oatmeal stout is another good one to try out, it's very refreshing. It was very busy when we stopped in, but we still found parking, the service was good and prompt. They don't sell food, but they have food trucks. They have a great atmosphere and awesome beer, I will come back here.

Happy Grand Opening! Cheers to a complimentary taco for Grand Opening! Service at the bar is friendly & efficient. Looking like a good turnout here already. Starting off with an Xtra Pale Ale, which is excellent. More to post as it goes... The theme is tiki, which their logo emodies brilliantly. In addition to an L-shaped bar, there's a nook seating area & the Ohana Room, with nice tiki touches throughout. Pups in & out, so dog friendly. For Grand Opening, there were 5 beers on tap. Naturally, I tried them all. & all of it was outstanding for style. The initial offerings being: Xtra Pale Ale, Rice Lager, Mexican Lager, Hazy & West Coast IPA's. Happy Grand Opening Michi Brew Co. Cheers to many more beers here.

What a fantastic addition to the San Elijo/San Marcos craft beer scene! Michi Brew Co. is brand new, but they're already knocking it out of the park. I had the chance to try a wide range of beers -- from the crisp and refreshing Mungo Extra Pale Ale, to the incredibly smooth Akita Rice Lager (and I'm not usually a lager fan, so that says something), to the crushable Canote Mexican Lager, and of course, the bold and juicy Memphre Double Hazy, which easily takes the crown as my personal favorite. If you're into IPAs, don't miss the Chelan West Coast IPA either -- classic, clean, and packed with flavor. The space itself has a very cool vibe. There's a nice bar, a few different rooms to hang out in, and plenty of seating options that make it easy to settle in for a while. Bonus points for the huge parking lot -- always appreciated! What really stood out, though, was the amazing hospitality from the owners (thanks Ryan!!!). You can tell right away how passionate they are -- not just about their beer, but about creating a welcoming space for the community. They're friendly, down-to-earth, and clearly take a ton of pride in both the craft beer scene and being part of the local neighborhood. That energy really shines through and makes the whole experience even better. Overall, Michi Brew Co. already feels like a local gem. Great beers, great people, great atmosphere -- I highly recommend stopping by and working your way down the tap list. This place is going to become a favorite fast.

Hefe and hazy ipa are delicious

Fun, chill and aesthetic. Amazing service and phenomenal beer. Don't be fooled when you first walk in there's plenty of hanging space as you make your way to the back area. Cozy but chill and relaxed space with a large screen and plenty of games.

Hawaiian themed brewery! Michi Brew is a small brewery located in an industrial business park. The owner is the brew master and front of the house and very friendly. The menu focuses on different fruit flavors into DDH west Coast IPA, Lagers and Ales. Beers are tasty, light in flavor and lacking some rich flavors. This brewery is dog friendly however their seating is limited and the second room is dark needing more light.

Super chill place to get the full Aloha vibe right here in coastal North County.

We were referred to this newest north coastal brewery by a popular local brewery. He said we wouldn't be disappointed. "He was right". Most new brewery's take a year or so to make more than one great brew. Not here. We tried 3 ales and a West Coast Pilsner. All exceptional. Our ( beer snobs) party of 4 all agreed the XPA was one of the best in town. The West Coast Pilsner was equally impressive. Both of these low ABV beers are worthy of a medal. Then there's Michi's IPA. At under 7.0 ABV it too is better than many IPA's in SD. Lastly the Tropical Hazy. Here again all agreed it's unique and tasty . This island influenced " Pineapple" hazy is the perfect brew to sip when here . ( We will be back to try the "Coconut" Porter). Highly recommend this brewery. Exceptional brews by a talented brewer. 5 stars !

Tropical Vibes, Thoughtful Brewing, and a One-of-a-Kind Rice Lager at Michi Brew Co. Michi Brew Co. is easily one of the most unique and welcoming breweries in Southern California. This husband-and-wife-owned gem brings tropical inspiration to every detail--from their island-style decor to their incredibly clean, flavorful beer. Cody, the head brewer, puts serious intention into crafting detailed water profiles, giving every beer its own signature character. One standout? Their rice lager--crisp, refreshing, and unlike anything you'll find at most breweries. It's light but flavorful, with a subtle depth that shows off just how dialed-in their brewing process is. Beyond the beer, the space is just as memorable. The Ohana Room features a huge TV, comfortable seating, and vibrant artwork that makes you want to stay awhile. And if you're into a moodier vibe, the dimly lit Tiki Room offers the perfect escape with cozy seating and a cool, tropical ambiance. Whether you're a beer enthusiast or just looking for a chill place to hang out, Michi Brew Co. is a must-visit. Great people, next-level beer, and serious island vibes.

It was on a Friday night, the place was packed, and difficult to find a spot to park. The line to order was almost out the door, but still fast to get through, and we were quick to choose what we wanted before struggling to find a spot to sit and talk. After about 15 minutes, our order was ready and we got to enjoy our food. We started with the Carne Asada Nachos, Refried Beans on the side. The meat was flavorful, very tender, and plentiful atop a pile of crisp and fresh tortilla chips. The cheese was nice and salty and the sour cream was warm to the point where it drizzled over it all nicely. All in all, it was a very tasty start to the night. The only two issues I had with it were that the guac was a bit overly pureed, making it kind of runny. And the refried beans had a very sour flavor, making me think that they were over the edge of going spoiled. I had to thank my wife's aversion to eating beans, helping us avoid having them spooned on top, which would have ruined this course. I also had an Al Pastor Taco, Craft Coast Style. The whole it was crisped up well, the cheese forming a great crust on the inside of the taco. The meat was sweetly marinaded, flavorful and delicious. On top of it was a good amount of beans, onions, cilantro, and guacamole, making for a good sized taco without any overflowing. It was pretty damn tasty. So, our first trip out here had more highs than lows, resulting in a very positive initial dinner. I'm sure those beans were just a one-off, at least I hope they were. And there's still hope that the guac may have had too much lime or had been overly mixed this time around. A second trip is definitely in the cards, with more of the family to expand what comes to the table.

I'm a huge Wicked fan and was excited to see this event advertised on Yelp. This restaurant was the only one in North County I can think of that acknowledged the movie when it was about to be in theaters. First of all, it was easy to get to based on my GPS but kind of challenging to find their parking lot. I ended up finding a 2-hour parking on N. City Drive which was in walking distance. All I was thinking of while walking up to Draft Republic is that this place is massive. Inside, the hostesses verbally instructed me where to go...came across bowling...arcade games...sports on tvs on my way. Behind the curtains, I entered the room in awe. Draft Republic really went ALL OUT!! The Wicked witchy vibe was sooo magical. I loved the beautifuuul Elphaba/Glinda decorations, cleverly creative themed menu option names, actual movie playing in the background, and the take-home momentos. Nick and staff were super wickedly friendly too. The Wicked Bites, Grimmerie Shots and Wickedest Cocktails were all FANTASTIC!!! I definitely tasted Draft Republic's wickedness. I appreciated everything about this experience....well well done. What a WICKED TIME! I hope there are more speakeasy pop-ups in the near future :-)

I want to start by saying that for whatever my opinion matters (and it should matter very little),…read morethis is just how I came away feeling about this place. Because Draft Republic is a rough place to quantify. The food is pretty good; if going off that alone, this place would easily be four stars in my eyes. But, it's not ... Draft Republic is trying to be a bit closer to like a mini Dave & Buster's (a place I have come pretty close to loathing). With an arcade, a bowling alley, a golfing simulator, a full bar, pretty extensive menu, good music, and a fantastic staff, they really have a lot going for them with a little something to make anyone happy. My own issue deals solely with the cost. Came here with my son, all we did was eat two entrees and an appetizer between us, and did nothing else. With drink and after tax and tip, the cost was well over $90. No games, no play, just burgers (plus fries and poke tacos) for two, costs as much as many Californian's net after a full day of work. When you're used to feeding the whole family for about half as much when going out (or a little more when eating sushi), that price was a bit rough. Still, the food is very good. My son and I each ate The Draft Republic Burger. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, very flavorful, and the toppings were high quality. The fries were crisp and salted well. And the side salad wasn't too bad. Both of us ate our entrees and gave it high marks. We had started with the Tres Poke Tacos, where the Tuna was very tasty, steeped in a flavorful marinade, and felt nice and fresh. Definitely a good starter. And the restaurant itself is gorgeous. A lot of space, beautifully furnished, kind of industrial meets art deco with some new age greenery architecture thrown in. I like it a lot. But, as an aging Gen-X'er, who used to go to arcades back in the day, and hates what new arcades have become, the amenities are under appreciated by me. All of that pads the price tag a bit out of what I am willing to pay just for dinner. Which may not be fair to Draft Republic, but that's where it left me.

Inexplicably, my kids love beavers, and so when we were staying in Carlsbad for the night and looking for a place to eat, how could we not visit a place called Belching Beaver? We couldn't not! And so we did. It turns out, Belching Beaver is a very family-friendly brewery, with lots of arcade games, lawn games, and an extremely laid-back atmosphere. I wasn't going to get a beer, but then I saw that the brewery did a collaboration with the Deftones to create an IPA called Phantom Bride. I had to get a pint. Chino Moreno made me do it! It was citrusy and refreshing, and just the thing to enjoy while sitting on the outdoor picnic tables. Belching Beaver offers your average pub food. My kids got chicken tenders and fries, and mac and cheese with fries. I got a poke bowl, which sounds like a risky choice at a brewery, but it was actually really good and fresh! Not too saucy, either. We also got the carne asada 980 Nachos, which are huge and come on a baking sheet. Plenty enough to share! This place is tucked away in what looks like an office plaza.
