North Coast Brewing, Scrimshaw, Pilsner, Fort Bragg, CA 4.7% and Surf & Turf Quesadilla
Loan N.

A hidden gem with a killer draft list! Finding this spot is a bit of a scavenger hunt. It's tucked behind the apartment complex next to the climbing gym. The space is massive, both inside and out. We spent a lovely evening by the outdoor fire pits and the atmosphere was perfect. Pro Tip: Use the QR code at the table! It makes group dining seamless since everyone can order and pay for their own tab instantly. Food Highlight: I had the Surf & Turf quesadilla (brisket and shrimp), which was seasoned perfectly. It came with pickled jalapeños, guac, and a great house made green salsa. It paired really well with a Scrimshaw Pilsner from their impressive tap list. Note: The quesadilla was nearly a 10/10; the only thing missing was a side of sour cream to round it out. I missed their Happy Hour (M-F, 4:00-5:30 PM) this time, but I'll definitely be back to catch that $20 Draft Republic Burger Combo!

Good patio vibe and heaters (though at first they told us it was going to take 35 minutes to be seated on the patio even though it was empty, which is not normally the vibe at a Cohn restaurant, where usually service is better than the food). They have a huge craft beer menu as well as cocktails and wine. My cocktail was good, not great. It was kind of annoying to have to order using the QR codes and go through the pull down then used to customize, like if I'm ordering from DoorDash. But my plant based burger was pretty good. The ketchup they use has a strange taste but the meal was filling. Soundtrack was fun and very varied. But who wants to hear Nicki Minaj while they're chilling in 2026? Not me!

I still like this place! Food is delicious, service is good and games are on! The only thing missing is that they don't always play game audio.

My husband's 60th birthday party!

Had a 60th birthday party here for my husband, and we all had a fantastic time. Our friends where impressed by the food and service that was given, and so was I! Sonia was our server for the 3 hour event, and she made sure everyone had a drink in their hands! The manager made sure everything ran smoothly too! Had a little rain on our heads, but everyone was happy!

We heard about a wicked pop up at this location and wanted to check it out. It was really cute. They really put in effort to decorate and even was playing the movie. The drinks and food offered were also theme based and fun. The staff were all super welcoming and friendly. I also loved how on a warmer day they have outdoor activities that looked fun. They even have a bowling alley inside, but after hearing the cost, we definitely would Not be interested. Overall, good drinks, decent food, would be back.

This is my go to place for group gatherings. The place is big and has different games in different areas. There are multiple sections for both indoor and outdoor dining. It's nice that they have a QR code for each table. We can scan the QR code and order whatever I want for my group and pay for only my tab, no need to wait for the check and split the check among many people/groups. It's very convenient. There are many food and drink choices ranging from burgers, fries to salad and ceviche. I liked their burgers, fries and chicken tenders. They things for everyone to do and eat. The parking garage offers two hours free parking which is great. I would go back whenever I'm in the area.

This was a really cool spot! Tucked away by CSUSM! They have a parking garage, first 2 hours are free but the restaurant will validate your parking if you are there longer! They have a really good social hour with a burger, fries, salad, and beer for $21 The burger was DELICIOUS! Service was really great! Always checking in on us and very fast! The ambiance was super chill! Lots and lots of games for all ages. EVEN had a bowling alley in there with about 7 lames! The biggest Foosball table that I have ever seen! And shuffleboard that was outside. Will definitely return here!!!

Prickly pear margarita was actually good. Avoid the something witch shot at all costs! It was disgusting.

Just left Draft Republic, and while the food and arcade were totally fine, the service absolutely tanked the experience. Our waitress was easily the biggest frustration of the night. She acted like she had somewhere better to be every time she came to the table. Instead of offering suggestions or helping us decide, she just stood there staring at us like we were wasting her time. It was uncomfortable, unwelcoming, and honestly kind of ridiculous. On top of that, the bowling area was closed off for two separate events which also sucked, because we actually came planning to play. No warning, no heads-up, nothing. Not the end of the world, but definitely added to the irritation. We're generous tippers and still left 20%, but the service made us regret it. A better waitress alone could've turned this into a 5-star visit and a 30% tip. Instead, the whole thing felt like a night that should've been great but got derailed by attitude and poor communication.

BO Beau's Crispy Brussels Sprouts***

This place never disappoints! If you're looking for somewhere to go where everyone will be pleased, this is the place for you. They've got salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and pasta dishes just to name a few. If you're looking for small bites, they have great appetizers and the best time to give those a try is during happy hour. My favorite apps are the crispy Brussels sprouts and the crispy buffalo cauliflower. I have yet to find any other restaurant that actually makes their Brussels sprouts crispy like Draft Republic. And the crispy buffalo cauliflower is pretty addicting! Just the perfect amount of spice to it. They also have a great drink menu covering beers, wine, and spirits. If you have kids with you, they have arcade games and bowling to keep them busy.

Shrimp and Grits
Natalie S.

Draft Republic had some solid dishes on our visit. I had the shrimp and grits; good flavor overall, with just the right amount of spice and a nice touch from the tomatoes, though I did wish the grits were a bit creamier. My husband had the surf and turf quesadilla, which was packed with flavor and came in a generous portion. Service was friendly and attentive, and while it can get a little loud inside, that's pretty much expected for the type of atmosphere. A fun spot with tasty food and a lively vibe.

Pros: This spot is a good place to hang out if you're looking for a casual bar with activities like billiards and darts. The vibe is fun without being overly packed, which made it easy to enjoy the space. The overall energy of the place was welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. It's one of those spots where you can relax, hang out, and have a good time. Cons: Parking here is probably the biggest downside. The lot is really small and gets packed quickly, so I wouldn't recommend relying on it. We parked nearby after eating at Copper Kings Burgers and just walked over, which ended up being way easier. Verdict: If you're looking for a fun, chill bar in San Marcos with games, music, and good drinks, this is a great spot to check out. But I can't tell if most people were just in the bar area - we were able to get a booth! The place was nice and loud since every one was having a good time. Several parties of 3+ and I saw 1 party of 6. They were doing an explorer menu from Yucatan. Interesting thing to do during Black History Month - I won't lie. I was surprised to see it. But we ordered from that menu. We ordered the fried plantain that came with a sauce and cilantro, sausage and pepper soup, and the BBQ pork. I enjoyed everything except for the plantain. They were basically a huge disc that was slightly crunchy. I was not expecting that since if I want a crunchy plantain, I will eat actual plantain chips. The soup was fantastic! It was a bit spicy but not overwhelming and full of flavor. Wish I ordered a bowl instead of a cup. And last but not least, the BBQ pork was very good. Served on lettuce as well, so if you are doing keto you can omit eating the tortillas that came with the dish. It also had pickled red onions and a salsa. The salsa was mild and with everything in the taco, flavors were balanced. We also ordered 6 Cajun wings. But today, they didn't seem as flavorful, a pity really. A grilled cheese was ordered but with hamburger meat inside. That seemed good and it came with fries. Washed all of this down with a sour that was called Boozy Berry & my fiancé had a West Coast beer. Food was enjoyable, atmosphere was fun. We will be back again.

Second off, are they even a brewery? I see cans and taps of their own beer, but looking into the business, I dont think they own a brewery at all. This is more along the lines of a taphouse/pub. THAT BEING SAID, the food is quite nice. I think the pizza is great and it feels like they make and roll their own dough which is respectable and ambitious for a random little spot like this. I like that there is so much outdoor space too which allows families to enjoy themselves and let the kids have room to have fun. Eureka is a great spot and I highly recommend it. Where's my Wild Child?!
