I'll come down from LA just for Pure Project and I can't go down to San Diego without making a stop at one of their locations. That's how much I enjoy their beers. I've been going since they were limited to their Miramar location. Having been to all of their locations at this point they're all very beautiful. We end up visiting the Carlsbad location the most, as it's the most convenient location on our way up and down from LA. Perfect place to get some food around the area and have a drink before picking up a case to take home. They have a great and varied selection of beers for everyone. I'm a big IPA fan so I tend to lean towards their Diamond Dust as my favorite from their core line. Their specialty releases and collabs are always a hit. Their beers are all uniquely flavored, you can really taste the different elements to their offerings If it's your first time, their flight deals are a great way to try all of their selections. Feel free to ask the staff on recommendations as well. This location has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and very clean. It's the perfect place to grab a drink and take some to-go as well. Excellent vibes all around Definitely one of my favorite breweries! read more

I love Pure Project Carlsbad. It is always a vibe. Great people and beerkeeps. The service is great. They are always so friendly and positive. Walking distance to the beach. Their address is 2825 State St., Carlsbad, CA 92008. The E.T. Fonio Home was cold and refreshing. It's a Belgian-style witbier with lemon and orange blossom. It is 5.0% ABV. It's on the light side. I also had perezoso. It is a hard smoothie with mango and blueberry. I love Pure Project smoothie beer. They are so refreshing on a hot day. Check it out if you're in Carlsbad. I walked from my hotel and it was anlovely walk!. 5 tasters on the flight. Lots of bottle options and barrel aged variety as well. The service was kind and helpful. Just very fast paced! They are crowded on a rainy day and they expedite the line fast! So be ready and know what you want. I actually got out of line and went to the end so I had more time to think lol This place is crowded but cozy. Lots of people and if your introverted you may feel overwhelmed. I really enjoyed my flight and even took a few to go. I would come again but next time, I think I'll come in the daylight.When it's sunny, so there's a little more room to stretch out. read more

This Pure Project, a brewery, is located by the Carlsbad Village Station. There is parking in the nearby parking lots and street. It's a popular location that is family and dog friendly. The flight is 5 for the price of 4 beers, which is around $20. The staff is friendly, quick, and professional. The ambiance is amazing - plenty of searing, light music, wooden feature, pothos plants hovering over the tap area. Overall, this is a great brewery to stop by while in Carlsbad. read more

This place is always amazing and the staff is second to none with an amazing indoor and outdoor environment. Our favorite is their slushies that are served seasonally. The beertenders are always extremely well versed and make the best suggestions when you are unsure of a new flavor or style to try. We travel to Oceanside fairly often coming from close to Las Vegas and always make this a stop every time. 3-25-26 I had the pleasure of speaking with Lauren on the phone, calling before coming, to inquire whether or not they were serving slushies or not. She very politely informed Slushies would not start again until May however they did have similar options and was nice to hear the current availability. About 10 minutes later I received a phone call back, obviously from their caller ID, I could not answer but I was left with a Voicemail. (attached) This is the level of service and going above and beyond that justifies a perfect 5 star review. I wish 6,7 or 10 Stars was an option! Thank you Pure Project! What a great hidden gem! We found out about this spot after attending the REI grand opening party last month, and we had no idea this place was here! We visited on Sunday around 12:30pm, and there were quite a few people there but more than enough extra tables and chairs for others coming in. Parking in this area can be challenging if you don't come earlier in the morning, but parking spots line all the nearby side streets, so you'll find one...it will just take a little bit of time. The two guys behind the bar area quickly greeted us and welcomed us in! I LOVED the vibe and they have a natural outdoor ambience that they've brought indoors with the climbing vines from plants that line the back wall. It's truly a lovely spot. I got a beer flight of the following: Tropical Mist Lemon Surf Ship Full Sail Mysto Wave Hydra Squared They were ALL delicious... but my FAV and the one I ended up taking a 4 pack of home of... is Hydra Squared! It was SO good... and I didn't care how much they charged me for it when I left lol I will for sure be checking out their Vista location, as they said that it's bigger and has even more plants everywhere! Pure Project is one of our favorite breweries, so when we were passing through Carlsbad, we had to stop in! It was actually also their anniversary weekend coincidentally! - PARKING - A few street spots but there is a larger lot close to the transit center. It can get busy but the lot goes far down. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - With every Pure Project we've been to, the service/staff is always amazing! They are so welcoming and patient, and are just happy to help people. There are several outdoor tables and a variety of tables inside, but everything is open-air. out of 3 breweries explored today in Carlsbad , Pure Project is the only one worth reviewing. location is Amazing! mellow downtown with some ocean breeze filtering in from the other side of the train station. they have a pretty massive selection guaranteed to satisfy the pickiest beer connoisseurs. i went with two 5oz sours. a guava based one and a blueberry based one. the guava one was fantastic. not too sweet or sour. sidewalk seating is nice and so is the open patio on a wooden deck. the decor is easy on the eyes and has a clean but rustic vibe. this place really has it all. service is friendly prices ate normal. definitely check this spot out if exploring deep Orange County beach towns. read more

There is a large outdoor patio along with inside booths and a large bar, tons of space for everyone. Karl Strauss has been a San Diego staple for decades and I definitely recommend stopping at any of the locations for good local beer and food. I love their Mac and cheese! The noodles and the sauce are perfect texture and I really liked the mushrooms. They also do an awesome job curating their menu and beer to complement each other. I really appreciate the effort that goes into that. Everyone was super nice and helpful. Our server was attentive and everything was great. 10/10 recommend!

Inexplicably, my kids love beavers, and so when we were staying in Carlsbad for the night and looking for a place to eat, how could we not visit a place called Belching Beaver? We couldn't not! And so we did. It turns out, Belching Beaver is a very family-friendly brewery, with lots of arcade games, lawn games, and an extremely laid-back atmosphere. I wasn't going to get a beer, but then I saw that the brewery did a collaboration with the Deftones to create an IPA called Phantom Bride. I had to get a pint. Chino Moreno made me do it! It was citrusy and refreshing, and just the thing to enjoy while sitting on the outdoor picnic tables. Belching Beaver offers your average pub food. My kids got chicken tenders and fries, and mac and cheese with fries. I got a poke bowl, which sounds like a risky choice at a brewery, but it was actually really good and fresh! Not too saucy, either. We also got the carne asada 980 Nachos, which are huge and come on a baking sheet. Plenty enough to share! This place is tucked away in what looks like an office plaza. I'm learning that a lot of breweries in this area are posted up in situations like this. You look like you're driving into a nondescript place to get your contract notarized, but instead, you happen upon a cool restaurant and brewery such as this.

Here, you can get up to five different beers in one flight although you don't have to get all five. I tried one lighter one (2 AM Tacos--Mexican lager) and it was refreshing and delicious. I also tried four heavier, more alcoholic ones: Black's Peach (sour ale--it was sour indeed), Drink This or the Bees Die (Golden Honey--not bad), Sasquack (Belgian--very good), and St. Alfonsos (Imperial Stout at 12.8 ABV--this one was absolutely outstanding but better have a designated driver with you). This place is kid friendly and definitely dog friendly. In fact, there were probably more dogs than humans during our visit and I'm not complaining. Dogs are better than people, as we know. This was on a Friday night and the place was absolutely slammed, which was nice to see. No food available but you can bring in your own grub. Good luck with parking--either free street or residential parking are your only options. Excellent addition to Leucadia. This is a good spot.

Every pour feels deliberate, like someone cared a little too much--in the best possible way. The Promise Porter... that one sticks with you. Dark, rich, almost haunting. It didn't just raise the bar--it moved it somewhere higher, somewhere harder to reach. I still find myself thinking about it, hoping it comes back like a ghost that never quite finished its business. And then there's Diamond Dust--reliably delicious, always exactly what it should be. No surprises. Just excellence. But places like this aren't just built on what's in the glass. They're built on the people behind it.
