Hidden gem! Was walking around in circles trying to find this place it is totally secluded from the main drag. Teeny tiny coffee shop down an alley with the front opening up to a parking lot. This place knows coffee, there's no futzing around. Black drip and you won't be sorry. They have some seating outside, nothing much to look at but still nice to sit in the sun and enjoy a cup. Shhh! It's one of the few gems that are still hiding in Carlsbad Village. Interim serves up get great quality coffee and espresso with homemade simple syrups. If you want something on the sweeter side then try the ginger fig latte. It's both unique and satisfying! The two owners are really cool and will be happy to tell you their origin story if you ask. They're only open 8am to 2pm so I only make it in on occasion, but I always like grabbing an americano or a bag of their roasted coffee beans. Awesome little Java Shack is surrounded by fragrant honeysuckle and has a nice relaxing outdoor table & chair seating area. The inside of this Java station has a collection of memorabilia from 45 records to vintage cameras. They even have a small variety of sweaters, wet suits, shirts and other collectibles.
