Nice cafe in Encinitas!! I was welcomed when arriving, café has a very wide menu a lot to choose from. Has delicious fresh baked goods. The ambience is very quiet and very calm, not too loud . Plenty of seating inside and on the outside patio. Great place to come if you're looking to get some work done or homework. The service is great. They gave me some good recommendations. And I got my drink and brownie immediately after ordering. I had a strawberry banana smoothie with a chocolate brownie, and it was absolutely delicious . I was recommended peanut butter brownie I think I'll get it next time.

Cute coffee shop with cozy, warm vibes! Busy on a Saturday morning, but the line went by fast and there's plenty of parking. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. There's also free wifi which is a huge plus! We all enjoyed our coffee! I personally got the iced latte with oat milk and the coffee was nice and strong (just how I like it). Definitely recommend this coffee shop!

I don't know how much coffee is actually in this but it was yummy! Tasted like a caramel milkshake. A good drink so the people who like something sweet. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Probably waited about 10 from ordering to when drink came out. They were pretty busy so it wasn't too bad of a wait all things considered.

Love the decor & outdoor seating! Friendly and fast service. Ordered an unsweetened soy matcha latte & oat milk vanilla latte and both were great (good flavor and not too sweet). They have a lot of teas and some baked goods in addition to Kodiak oatmeal.

Cute little coffee shop in a plaza. There's nice seating inside and cute decor. Loved the coffee bean grinder and the artisan mugs they sell. I got the iced vanilla bean americano and wow it was so delish! Was only visiting the area but it seemed like a great local spot. Lots of baked goods to choose from as well.

We had the opportunity to meet Doug the owner at the store. He walked us through the extensive process of how they roast their own coffee beans. Doug made us feel extremely welcomed and at home. Now I feel like I know a thing or two about coffee that the average person doesn't. Thanks Doug!!!

Still ordering our coffee here for over 8 years now! We walked in and the owner was roasting beans. We asked for 8 lbs of the New Guinea whole bean. Freshly Roasted within 30 mins. They ship too! CONCLUSION: Great Roaster and Great Coffee!

A HIDDEN GEM!!!! I really feel like this is the last place in North County where you can get an actual drink for under $5 like inflation has not hit them lol. I love coming here for the homely ambiance and the fresh smell of coffee inside because they roast it in house. There is a good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors, and it's right next to the Carlsbad Library, which sets up for a perfect day if you like reading or getting some work done. I have always ordered the iced vanilla bean americano, it usually comes out to about ~$5 after tip which is SO in budget. My dad loves the house brew and we just chill when we go in here because everyone is so nice and the coffee tastes so good.

    Iced Americano--not too bad

It was on the warmer side and they didn't have any shaded seats available, but I love the sun and wasn't bothered by this. The servers were very attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and provided too notch customer service. I love when they can speak to the menu and offer suggestions. Me and my friend opted to share a salad and pasta because we weren't super hungry. We ordered the very fren salad and the Malfadine pasta. The salad was fresh, crisp and had a great flavor. The seeds at times felt like I had them all in my teeth, so needed to do a teeth check afterwards! Haha the pasta is made fresh and was light, but so flavorful. We did not leave a morsel on the plate! I only walked through the inside to find a restroom. It looked like they had a lot of seating for larger parties and a private dining room as well. Super clean, simple design, but felt warm. Wish I lived closer to dine here often, but it's definitely a spot to try if you're in town visiting!

For our first appetizer-type courses, we ordered sliced sourdough with butter and roasted cabbage - both great options. The roasted cabbage ended up being my favorite part of the dinner. It was like a Caesar salad on a juicy, tender cabbage spear with a slight char. I felt like I definitely needed to order some bread to try some element of the bakery. We got another taste of the bakery because we also ordered pizza from the kids menu. I snuck a piece and that was great. We ordered two main courses: one pasta dish and the other was a braised rabbit with morels. The pasta dish was fine but my wife and I weren't planning to share it. We had to share it because the rabbit dish took so long that I had to cancel the order. It was unfortunate because I was really looking forward to that. That was one inconvenience. The other hiccup was they didn't have any beer available because of a cooler issue. They had really good beer on the menu too, so finding that out after I ordered was a let down. I entertained ordering wine or a cocktail afterward, but passed. We were sitting by the bar and the cocktails they were making looked really good. With those issues, the manager spoke with us and sent us home with a slice of lemon meringue pie to rectify. We appreciated the gesture and the service we had all night was good. I'm sure this place gets 5/5 stars most nights. It's a super cool place inside and out.

Entering: Never greeted let alone not acknowledged until it became barely. As someone who has worked all types of jobs, going as far back as when I was a teen myself - this is important. The two youngest ladies, at the register, were deep in their gossip that I doubt they noticed we walked in; only customers. I tried to get their attention but to no avail until I walked over and stood in front on them where their conversation had to be cut short. One of the young girls look a smidgen annoyed while the other was trying to rush to get my order. Quality of goods: I ordered a chocolate chip cookie, to share later with my girls and orders sometime raspberry for my teen son that he could enjoy later on break. The cookie was huge, yes, but nothing that beats the moist and chewy cookies I make myself at home, which I can't currently do since my kitchen is beinf remodeled. I asked my son on his bougie donut, later in the day, and he did the so-so hand and gave it an ok and dry. At end: we will stick to SK for service and quality.

First impression even before ordering a veg breakfast scramble at the front counter: the peeps who are employed here love (not like) working here. Miles of smiles and genuine engagement with customers is not something you can teach so it says everything about the owners that they love their staff and hire those that match their vibe. And that vibe is infectious and inspiring in a world where most seldom if ever look up from their phones. Ordering was a breeze, service was upbeat and the extra crisp I asked for on the breakfast potatoes was a crunchy delight. Great menu covering all day food cravings from omelettes, pancakes, fish tacos, burgers and inventive coffee choices and fresh pastries were on display and inviting. Floor to ceiling windows, cool light 'n breezy tunes, indoor and outdoor seating equally easy on the eyes and ears. The play area was exceptionally crowded, and my toddler who had just turned 2 at the time had a hard time navigating around the older, bigger kids. The age range felt a little questionable to me. At other play places we frequent, the kids tend to be closer in age, but that wasn't the case here. My son was knocked around a few times by bigger children, and the environment became very overstimulating. We ended up leaving early because of the chaos and my son not able to properly use anything... nearly all of the fruit and vegetable toys from the market area had been scattered throughout the play space, leaving the market and kitchen section where many of the younger kids were gathered mostly empty. Overall, it just didn't feel like the right fit for us. We decided to give Kids and Coffee another try this past Wednesday, thinking it might be a better experience without a birthday party happening... and it was! We paid for two hours, stayed about an hour and a half, and my son had a great time. One thing I really appreciate about Kids and Coffee is that their café is nut and peanut free, which is especially important for families like ours dealing with multiple food allergies. That peace of mind was honestly the main reason I wanted to give the space another chance. We were even considering adding Kids and Coffee into our regular rotation since it's closer to us than some of the other play places we enjoy. Unfortunately, after our visit, my son became extremely sick most likely with norovirus. I completely understand that illnesses can happen anywhere kids gather, and I don't blame the business for that. However, during our entire visit, I didn't see any employees actively present in the play area. Parents, myself included, were gathering and returning the pretend produce to the market area, but none of the toys appeared to be wiped down or sanitized. At other play places, such as Tiny Tiger, there always seems to be staff actively cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day. Because we have been to so many play places now with great experiences and have not come home with an illness from any other we will just be sticking to our regular spots moving forward. I think sanitation still needs a little work at this location or perhaps even someone checking temperatures at the door like other places All in all, we unfortunately won't be returning.
