We've visited twice. The first time wasn't a great experience because, unbeknownst to us, there was a kids' birthday party taking place. The play area was exceptionally crowded, and my toddler who had just turned 2 at the time had a hard time navigating around the older, bigger kids. The age range felt a little questionable to me. At other play places we frequent, the kids tend to be closer in age, but that wasn't the case here. My son was knocked around a few times by bigger children, and the environment became very overstimulating. We ended up leaving early because of the chaos and my son not able to properly use anything... nearly all of the fruit and vegetable toys from the market area had been scattered throughout the play space, leaving the market and kitchen section where many of the younger kids were gathered mostly empty. Overall, it just didn't feel like the right fit for us. We decided to give Kids and Coffee another try this past Wednesday, thinking it might be a better experience without a birthday party happening... and it was! We paid for two hours, stayed about an hour and a half, and my son had a great time. One thing I really appreciate about Kids and Coffee is that their café is nut and peanut free, which is especially important for families like ours dealing with multiple food allergies. That peace of mind was honestly the main reason I wanted to give the space another chance. We were even considering adding Kids and Coffee into our regular rotation since it's closer to us than some of the other play places we enjoy. Unfortunately, after our visit, my son became extremely sick most likely with norovirus. I completely understand that illnesses can happen anywhere kids gather, and I don't blame the business for that. However, during our entire visit, I didn't see any employees actively present in the play area. Parents, myself included, were gathering and returning the pretend produce to the market area, but none of the toys appeared to be wiped down or sanitized. At other play places, such as Tiny Tiger, there always seems to be staff actively cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day. Because we have been to so many play places now with great experiences and have not come home with an illness from any other we will just be sticking to our regular spots moving forward. I think sanitation still needs a little work at this location or perhaps even someone checking temperatures at the door like other places All in all, we unfortunately won't be returning. read more

The good: This is the best kids cafe I've been to in the states! We got a dino nuggets meal with a side and juice box for $8. The side options included pretzels, fruits or gold fish. I also got a spring seasonal latte that was lemon yuzu flavored with a cookie butter (?) base. I loved how spacious the space was and airy. There was a giant ceiling fan and the entire floor was cushioned and clean. They have a ball sanitizing machine. I saw workers wiping down toys one by one as well. I loved all of the climbing areas and how the climbing spaces were wide so adults could fit in but also aesthetically pleasing with calm/neutral shades. There's a toddler area as well for kids under 2. There's also a baby bouncer and foam mats you can take out for little ones. They had lots of snack options for kids and adults. There was plenty of parking in the parking lot. This place is located in a business area so it feels private/secluded. The shoe shelf area was really large and spacious especially compared to other play spaces I've been to. The bad: I wish this was closer to where I lived! The interesting: Food and drinks must be consumed in the dining area. I think a larger dining area would be good but we didn't have a problem because we came on a Monday and it wasn't crowded at all. read more

I've been to a bunch of these kind of places and I definitely think this one is better for younger kids like six or seven and under my friend and I brought her poor little daughter's on a day when their preschool was closed. We were able to work in the coffee area. They have a full breakfast sandwiches and a breakfast menu as well as pizza lunch for kids, snacks, juice, etc. It seemed really clean and wasn't too crowded on a Friday morning. I like that you can see through a lot of the play area so I could spot my daughter easily. We had a great time here and would definitely come back. read more

This is a great place to take your little ones. The play area is super cute and has good, safe areas even for the younger ones. It's my third time coming here and it's worth it. 5 stars for the space, design and activities for the kids. It's awesome. But for the price and what they charge they should have more workers keeping up with the facility. The bathrooms were disgusting, the pretend play areas didn't really have any of the toys in them. The ball puts had the hard lego type building blocks in them. I literally found myself cleaning up like at home organizing the place. And there was zero enforcement of the baby area. Big kids playing in there. Came in on a Saturday, the previous day I went online and tried making reservations and the website was down. So I figured we could just walk in. Upon arrival we were told we needed reservations when we tried making them again the site was down. It was very difficult for no reason. Staff was nice and trying to be helpful. There is no coffee allowed in the kids area which defeats the whole purpose of kids and coffee? If you get a coffee you need to drink it in the cafe area but it's so cramped and small. AMAZING!!! Went for a playdate and birthday party for my 6-year-old. My 9-year-old was tagging along and was fully prepared to hunker down with a book while the little kids played. But both girls had a blast running around their play structures. The owners really thought of everything from making sure everything is padded, to having a great space for parties and classes, to having a quiet room when the kids are sensory overloaded and need a mini time out. Since the facility is shoeless, they even have slippers to borrow when going into the restrooms! And extra diapers in case someone runs out. So thoughtful!!! Oh and there is a grabber machine. My girls LOVE those. We all enjoyed lunch thoroughly. I highly recommend their eggs and bacon sandwich with avocado - hot, fresh, and delicious. Their pizza is made locally and the crust is nice and crusty as it should be. I love the options for mimosas or beer, but I found their coffee to be absolutely delightful! This place is cute and clean. I did appreciate that you can make reservations; however, you cannot do any walk ins unless you make a reservation first. The day we went was a spur of the moment decision and didn't make reservations in advance. We walked in and was told we wouldn't be able to enter unless reservations were made and then paid. The staff was nice but I was a little frustrated since my phone for some reason wasn't able to access the website and I had to ask the staff to use their phone. After 15 mins and signing the waiver, we were able to enter. Since it was a midweek afternoon, the place wasn't busy so our kids enjoyed the light crowds. When early evening hit was when it started to get busier. The place was clean and structures were new. It's a great place to spend a couple hours with the kids if you plan on going. There's a small cafe available to purchase snacks and drinks onsite. You would need to stay in the designated area, however. This place is hidden in the industrial area of Carlsbad, so look out for the small signs otherwise you may miss it! read more

Bravo to the owners of this establishment! We trekked from OC to Carlsbad to let the kiddos burn energy and this did not disappoint. We made reservations online and filled out the waiver prior to entering which made the process smooth and quick. *Reminder to all parents, bring grip socks for kids and have regular socks for yourself! The establishment is large and clean. There's a play area for 24 months and under, as well as structures for kids ranging from 3-10 years old. They have mini kitchens and grocery store and had music time going on when we arrived. My kids loved the songs and musical instruments that they were allowed to play with. The ball pits and slides were a big hit! This place has was well though out. They have complimentary diapers ranging from sizes 1-5, bathroom shoes, step stools for hand washing, a coffee shop inside, a nursing room, a quiet room aka "the comfort room" and little books and crannies for everyone to go through. My kids were loving every bit of it and it didn't feel cramped. My daughter LOVES Kids and Coffee! I honestly wish we still lived in San Diego so she could come more often! We got a gift card and finally came down to San Diego to visit family and got a chance to use it. The place is clean and very aesthetic. My husband ran around with our daughter while I got some work done in the cafe. But just a warning if you need a quiet cafe to take a call this isn't the location for you. No shoes allowed inside just grippy socks but they have slippers to use for the bathroom. Also, the stock of diapers is a nice touch! Love the decor and aesthetics, the modern calming color choices are so nice, and everything is clean! For 1 kid + 3 adults came out to be $50 for 2 hours. The location is located next to a church & super easy go find. Parking is plenty. They have a good size lobby & shoe/bag area, and you can locate the cafe inside. Location is perfect for 2-3 year olds and plenty of room for everyone without it feeling too crowded. The high ceilings are nice. Bathrooms are big and clean with the changing pad in the last stall of the womans not sure about dads side. They provided huggies diapers in a few sizes. I like how the adults can wear regular socks, i know some establishments require parents to have grippy socks too. I wish they did check temperatures and grippy socks for extra safety.. there were a few kids coughing and having sniffles. The only question that comes to mind after visiting here is that why is this place not opening a location in OC??!! This place is Amazing! It is clean and bright and just perfect for the little ones. When I read that they have their own cafe, I was like oh God, they probably serve junk food. But I was soooo wrong! They sell organic juices and milk. Their lattes are delicious! The secret of their success is that the owners are a couple who actually manage their cafe. They were very friendly and nice. I can't stress enough how great this establishment is. They have restaurant/store buildings to the left after the coffee food area for parents. The floor is fully matted so even if there is a small slip kids won't get hurt. I saw this place on instagram and immediately wanted to take my son -- who is at the age that he can enjoy these activities! We came on a Saturday morning and even though there's a whole parking lot, it was almost full. It was an easy process to check-in and store our items/shoes. My son loved the ball pit area, slides, and climbing structure! This play gym is not only aesthetically pleasing, but was also very clean. You can really tell that Vivian and Ken have put a lot of thought and care into creating something uniquely wonderful for families to enjoy. There are so many play spaces to choose from. A small house and market lets kids pretend play and apply life skills. A designated area for babies 0-2 offers a cozier, quieter corner for the littles. There's a miniature trampoline surrounded with soft blocks and shapes. But the main attraction is the gigantic indoor jungle gym! I love the variety of materials used and the plethora of designs for climbing, tunneling, balancing, jumping, sliding, and playing. It feels endless in the route options, and continuously delightful. In addition to being fun, everything was safe (i.e., cushioned, rounded edges) and clean. Bonus points that adults can fit, and are encouraged, to join in the play! We were here for an epic birthday celebration. The private rooms in the back are huge, with furniture to accommodate both adults and kiddos alike. Decor was incredible and they even had Princess Anna come perform magic, tell stories, do face painting, and lead a dance party. I saw some previous Yelp reviewers unsure about the bathroom arrangement, but I found the clean crocs were a creative solution. It reminded me of Asian spas. There is an array of clean crocs (in adult and child sizes) available for use to slip on before going to the restroom. This keeps the play space clean, and keeps our socks from touching the restroom floor. Make sure you have reservations, and read the waivers and rules before attending. Outside food is permitted in the front lobby if you have dietary restrictions, but the cafe has a great selection of drinks and snacks. There is plenty of parking in the private lot. Check-in is a smooth process, and they have a sitting area right inside the lobby with lots of cubbies for shoes. Overall, it's a great location for indoor fun for families with small children. Also highly recommend for parties and events, for which they have amazing amenities for any celebration. We will absolutely be returning with family and friends. stunning 10/10 experience at kids and coffee! with all of the instagram marketing and higher pricing, i had pretty high expectations. and they met, every. single. one. they have spared no expense making the space beautiful, comfortable, clean, and even homey?? i brought my 5 year old daughter here for a play date with a family friend (6), neither of us had been. we made a reservation online the same day with zero issues (weekday). we had a 3:30 reservation and the place was almost empty! however i am so glad they limit the # of people to keep the place from feeling overcrowded like others in the area (PC) the staff were so friendly and smiling the second we walked in. they made my daughter feel welcomed and happy. the crocs to walk to the bathroom is key! there is nothing worse than walking in water in socks. they provides crocs for parents and kids to use while using the bathroom. the play area is not only stunning visually, but my daughter was playing for hours! she wanted to stay all night. the ball pit with the sea life stuffed animals is the cutest touch. finally - the CAFE !! i actually don't drink coffee and opted for a smoothie instead, which was incredible. they don't have many options but the service was quick and the ambiance is everything. i want to come back just to sit in the cafe! thank you kids and coffee, we will be back. read more

Kids and coffee is such a cute aesthetic place. Love that there is a coffee shop in there. One thing that is frustrating though is you can not take your coffee out of the cafe. So you can't enjoy it while the kids play. It's a little frustrating as it's not really known until you get there. So part of the reason I went is to enjoy coffee as he played which defeated the purpose. The coffee was 6/10 rating in my opinion. Aesthetic 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Kids area being managed 3/10 Front desk check in 3/10 No coffee out of the cafe 0/10 Price to go 5/10 As beautiful and cool of a spot that it is, i do wish that there was a little more for kids under one! I also do wish they paid attention to older kids being in the areas for babies because there was kids tbeowing balls and stomping in where my baby who can only crawl was playing . It could use more organization with play areas being watched. I also think it's a little expensive when you add fees for extra adults. We obviously are not playing on anything so it's kind of unfair to charge more for adults (really even at all) since we aren't there for ourselves. In my opinion if you're going to charge for an adult with a kid a 2nd adult (parent) should be free. We already spend money at the cafe as well. Saw this place advertised on Instagram and finally got to check it out with my hubby and 2 kids ages one and seven. You must make reservations online- even for the adults. I like that they limit capacity although it was still quite busy when we went. We were promptly greeted and checked in Hubby was impressed with the size and play gyms. He disliked the steepness of the grassy area and the foam block edges in the 0-3 area could be rounded instead of squared for safety. My 7 year old said it was a lot fun. She mostly enjoyed climbing and going through the tunnels as well as the slide. She unfortunately discovered one of the tunnels had feces smeared on it. Staff was quick to clean it up when we reported it and comped us a cup of coffee and some pretzels for our inconvenience, which was nice. I wonder if people are really not watching their kids?! Anyway, she said she wished she could jump on the trampoline like her little sister. She also noticed the Little Rock climbing area that was still un de construction, showing an interest to try that. The baby was sketched out at first but enjoyed the sensory area, the 0-3 area and just playing in the ball pit at the base of the large slides. Coffee shop has oat milk as the non-dairy option and lattes were good. Snacks and bottled drinks available for purchase. There were lots of seating and tables in the cafe area. Overall, fun place for kids (may be a little exhausting for parents with young children as they try to run around with their kids). Two hours is a good amount of time for play. I think we were there for about an hour and a half. We will likely return in the future. First I'd like to congratulate the owners for such an amazing place . I drove all the way from Irvine to take the kids and really happy I did . It was last Sat and the traffic was terrible . It took us 2 hours to get there ( left at 10:30 am and got there at 12:20pm ) But the min we went in there I realized it worth the drive . Once we got to the play area, the first thing I noticed was how clean it was for a kids play area and how they have employees constantly cleaning the play area. Was so excited to see somewhere like this open locally! I find it tough to bring my 1.5 year old to outdoor playgrounds sometimes as she's a little too small for a lot of the stuff and it's not always easy for interactive parent play. Reservation only so I purchased our 2 hour time slot online about an hour before heading there and was able to sign the waivers online. $30 for two hours of playtime had me hesitant at first because I wasn't sure that she was going to be entertained the entire time or what the set up was going to be but I was pleasantly surprised! When we pulled into the parking lot I drove around before realizing it was right to the left, there was a sign I missed so not too tough to find. Enough parking for when we went but I could see it filling up quickly. They are still adding finishing touches and you can tell but I def understand opening a business for cash flow before everything is perfect. I can't wait to see it completed! When we first entered my daughter ran right to the toy machines but I didn't go take a closer look, they are a cute idea! I went up to the desk after I was greeted and asked what was needed from me- I just had to give my name and I was good to go. A little more direction would be great for future first time guests, I only knew some little quirks from reading other reviews- i.e they offer slippers for folks to use the restrooms sinks it's socks only. Although I did notice one of the dads in bare feet? Not sure if that's allowed. We took our shoes off and put them in the cubbies- it was a tight squeeze for the diaper bag so a space for that would be great! We entered the play area and there was a lot to explore! A soft play area, a play kitchen and grocery store with lots of moving pieces, a ball pit, and area with sensory stones and further back a soft jungle gym of sorts. We honestly loved everything! Esp the hidden ball pits in the back that allowed for her to slide/sit jump into them. The sensory pit with the stones was probably my least favorite as I took her leggings off later to do a quick diaper change and a good handful of stones fell out. I wonder if that would be a better ball pit area and to have a small area with smaller sensory bins. The diaper change area is under construction but the super kind employee working last night was more than happy to take me to a makeshift diaper changing table for the meantime (I forgot to ask her name but I'll update next visit.) I would really like that if it wasn't in the bathroom but it might be and that's ok too! I would say this spot is perfect for your 1 year old, they had a small area that was 0-3 years old only, but it wasn't really separated at all. A gate from the cafe into the play area would be awesome too because my girl kept running back into the play area while we were trying to sit down for snacks. They also host events and can host your private party. I am excited to try to catch some of the classes and to watch my girly grow coming here. We'll do anything to tire out our toddler. When we saw this place on IG then our friends came and tried it, we gotta do it for ourselves too. We made a 9:00am appointment, it's only a 2 hour appointment. Initially it was great. It was slower at 9. Lots of time and space to entertain our toddler. He wasn't quite old enough to climb high or up on the big kids play gym. He enjoyed the ball pit, slide, play grocery store and play kitchen, and the soft play with the tiny trampoline. The infant section was too infant for him, he's only 1.5 years old. It was good until 10am hit, this is when the older kids start to come out, the kids around 8-10. They are ruthless. They run around crazy and not caring if there's a little toddler or kid in the way. They jump in the ball pit while babies or toddlers are in there, they throw the balls everywhere, they jump on the trampoline that says 2 kids only when there's already 2 kids. They literally bounce off the walls and their parents don't care. Yes, our friends were correct, we had to shield our toddler from getting smashed by an older kid while their parents don't watch them. I would say the goal is to go earlier to avoid them. If we go next time it'll be 8 or 8:30am. We also went to the cafe. I got a chai latte and my husband got espresso shots. We just alternate times to watch him. We came on Easter weekend, so it was nice they hid some eggs for the littles to find. The place was for the most part, nice and neat. There were staff walking around and checking on things. But can't control the older kids, it's hard to do that and I understand. Kids will kids. Overall, we would come back, but earlier. read more

We've brought our daughter here three times now and absolutely love it. She's 3 years old and is finally at the age where she can really appreciate all the amenities, which makes it even more fun for our family. The indoor play area is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and feels very safe. It's one of the few places where you can truly relax while your child plays. The café area is also wonderful -- lots of great food and drink options for both kids and adults, which makes it easy to stay for a while. Our only piece of feedback: please consider opening a location closer to Sorrento Mesa! The 30-minute commute can be tough when you're trying to work around a toddler's nap schedule. Other than that, we absolutely love this place and will definitely keep coming back. read more

Amazing kids playground! I highly recommend. It was a cool vibe and modern play area. It was pretty unbelievable how they set up so many fun activities for the kids to crawl around in. Coffees are great too! My 5 year old had a blast and I found it so relaxing. read more

My kids love Kids and Coffee. We've been a few times and every visit is great. There's so much for them to do. Play areas and tons of space to explore. It feels clean and safe, which isn't always the case with places like this. The coffee is spectacular. Not just decent. It's the kind you'd go out of your way for, even without kids in tow. And Kinzie, the café manager, is next level. She should be the spokesperson for customer service. I watched her handle a full house of moms and kids with real patience and calm. She made everyone feel seen and helped. That's not easy when you're running a café filled with toddlers. They're lucky to have her. read more

We had so much fun at this place! Saw this place on Instagram and it's actually better than what you see on Instagram. We came here on Saturday 1230p with reservation. And check in process was pretty smooth and everyone was friendly at rhe check in. Make sure bring clean gripped socks or buy at the check in place. My kids had so much fun and it's clean and decorated so cute! They had Alice in wonderland for Easter and she was playing with kids. I like how they provide clean slippers for bathroom, too. I'm really afraid of hand food mouth disease and I really appreciate when places like this try their best to avoid it. Also they provide diapers for babes. We didn't get coffee because we already had two shots of espresso in the morning but the cafe looks cute. read more

Honestly I was pretty skeptical of this place and I was resistant to go - I am SO glad I did and didnt wait around on this gem. The staff were all amazing and sweet. They educate you on the areas and are happy to answer any questions. The place feels clean which is comforting. The coffee is good and there are TONS of options for kid friendly snacks which is appreciated. My crawling babe was able to explore while my toddler ran around. Kids left exhausted with excitement on returning. read more

This place was unsanitary! Seems like they don't clean there's dust everywhere. The ball pit is full of balls that are ripped and opened! Safety hazard!!! Would not recommend this place honestly waste of money read more

So so clean compared to other indoor playgrounds we've experienced. Pros: super clean. Coffee drinks are awesome. Cons: not many actual seats in the coffee area where you can see your kid. Front desk lady was incredibly kind and nice. So was the manager of the coffee shop. Will be returning. Thanks to the great service and clean equipment. read more
