Hiya B.U.M.S., Let's get something out of the way first: I don't like coffee. I know, I know. It's a latte to take in. My wife, on the other hand, is a total caffeine fiend. But here's the kicker--she orders her coffee plain, simple, and black. To me? It tastes exactly like every other coffee in the world. (Don't bean me, it's just the truth!) Despite my lack of enthusiasm for bean water, we recently checked out Revolution Roasters, and I figured it was time to espresso my thoughts on the place. Spoiler alert: It was a pretty brew-tiful experience. Since I'm not a coffee guy, I let my wife handle the beverage department. She ordered an Iced Cold Brew and gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up. She said it was really good, which means Revolution Roasters is definitely doing something right to keep the coffee purists happy. Now, onto my territory, the White Chocolate Scone was a hit with the wife because it wasn't too sweet. If you prefer your pastries without a side of sugar shock, this is the one for you. However, full disclosure: if you're standing there debating between this scone and the savory pot pie from the shop right across the way... I'm going with the pot pie. Sorry, scone. I also ordered the Berry & Cream Cheese Toast, which was the real MVP. Again, it wasn't overly sweet, and they nailed the ratio. There was a perfectly even, generous spread of cream cheese and berry topping. Highly recommend! Revolution Roasters is located in a super cool, market-style space filled with other neat little shops. It makes for a great, lively atmosphere. When we walked in, the line was pretty long--clearly, the secret is out. But don't let a crowd deter you! The service was incredibly smooth and helpful, and they've got the operation down to a science. Plus, despite the crowd, there was actually adequate seating for a ton of people. We didn't have to play the awkward "hover around a table until someone leaves" game. While the vibes are immaculate, there is one tiny logistical hurdle. For a coffee shop that gets this busy, there is only one bathroom. If you've just downed a large iced brew, you might have to practice some patience. All in all, Revolution Roasters ground its way into our good graces. Between the smooth service, the cool market atmosphere, and food that hits the spot, I could definitely see us filtering back in here again soon. Whether you love coffee or you're just there for the toast, it's well worth a visit!
Can I start by saying this little plaza is so cute? They have lights, benches, and all you need for a quick catch up sesh. Of course, it was absolutely packed on a Saturday morning because there is food here, coffee, and all the works. I wasn't expecting the mango sticky rice matcha to hit so hard here, but it was so good! The mango flavor was natural and stood out well in the drink. I'd have to give it a shot again! Yum!
Love Revolution and their coffee! Their seasonal drinks hook me every time! This time I had a honeycomb latte with the honeycomb cold foam. The honeycomb latte has cardamom and the flavor was perfect. Not too sweet, but the cold foam was also amazing. The ham and cheese croissant was calling my name. It's super flakey and the cheese with ham was delicious! They have picnic tables and smaller tables to work and hangout. The staff were friendly and gave great recs!
One of my favorite coffee shops in Carlsbad. It has everything: lots of space in that patio shared with many other businesses, awesome original pastries, great coffee, interesting decor, designer tables, cute little patio on the other side too. The merchandise is also cute. I like the variety of spaces you have and that it does not feel overcrowded. The music create ambiance but a bit loud for my taste.
About to jump ship and become a SD girly for this coffee shop. It literally doesn't get better than this. Incredible atmosphere, picnic style dining, cutesy stores, and the most picturesque coffee shop all in one shopping center. If you couldn't tell, I'm smitten by Revolution Roasters. This coffee shop has it all. Their menu has the perfect balance of caffeine to festive. I ordered one of their seasonal beverages: the pistachio latte with almond milk. It was creamy and nutty, with a healthy dose of espresso. I also tried their tomato croissant and the apple pop tart. Both were beautifully crafted and so so tasty. Would easily return the next time I'm in Carlsbad!
Okay, I saw this listing and it looked like something I really wanted to try and after doing so I wish I had went back to the place I hit a couple months ago. So, we get there and see a pretty good and see a steady line coming out the door, okay cool. However in what we tried it's just an okay spot. I would say they have a great business model and have cool merch and crazy cool art and stuff but the drinks weren't anything special like what we expected. My wife got the matcha latte with honey and it was not well made. Seems like they feel more is better when it comes to putting matcha in the drink. More is not better. It just makes the matcha taste like grass. Ground powdered matcha is basically a concentrate and needs to be treated that way. Had my review been just on her drink it would be a one star. Her drink is exactly why a lot of people say matcha is not good. A well made matcha should be delicious. I got a vanilla latte and it was just okay. Tasted fine but wasn't anything that would have me wanted to come back for more. I do have to give it to them for the latte artwork as they do great on that. But the drink was just okay. We also got an heirloom blueberry and corn scone which was good but the corn makes it a bit gritty like corn bread, which I like although it could throw someone off if they are not expecting it. The other pastries all looked pretty good and we saw some breakfast sandwiches coming out that did look good too.
We love to visit this coffee shop when we visit Carlsbad. It's such a beautiful spot for families. There is an outdoor yard area for kids to play and run around. There is a cute little Rv shop you can buy clothes from and relax outside. We always get our kids vanilla steamers. I really enjoyed the honey lavender latte my first morning and the Vanilla latte the second day. We ordered their avocado toast from the coffee shop that was delicious.
First pit stop: making sure to fill up on matcha. On a beautiful Sunday morning, I decided to stop by this spot--and yes, the line was out the door. But don't let that scare you away because the service is incredibly fast. I went with the Burrata toast, while my friends ordered the jam cream cheese toast and the classic avocado toast. Everything was amazing. The flavors were fresh, simple, and really well done. They also have some other delicious items on the menu, and I couldn't resist grabbing the corn blueberry scone. It didn't last long at all--it was absolutely out of this world. The whole area is just so cute. It's a beautiful space where you can enjoy your food outside in a shared seating area with other nearby restaurants, which makes the whole experience feel lively and fun.
hot pistachio latte 10/10 iced honeycomb latte (cardamom & honey) 7/10 - lots of earthy flavors, not sweet but has a good espresso & milk ratio, so I enjoyed it still. This was such a cute little coffee shop - lots of unique flavors all with in-house made syrups and yummy pastries! There is NO INDOOR SEATING here however, but a cute little set up outdoors with bouquets available for purchase from a vendor! Overall, a great experience! Very friendly baristas and quick service.
What a fantastic little nugget in the heart of downtown Carlsbad! From the drinks to the food, staff and service This company deserves an applause It's situated right in the middle of everything! Order from the counter- this kinda needs a little help as there is always a line... and anything worth waiting on is a line I'll stand in! But if you're in a hurry this is your heads-up! But every drink and EVERY pastry is the best of what Carlsbad offers! They have seating outside with chairs and tables, music softly playing. It's really a great place to come and meet friends, or even a place I would come alone and have breakfast and read or work! I am overly picky about my pastries since traveling through Europe- but I don't have to leave Carlsbad for a fantastic treat!! Even if the combination doesn't sound good- they are Delicious!! I actually woke up this morning thinking about their Earl Gray Pop tart? I don't even like pop tarts!!! Anyways just a quick review so others know this is a special Gem in our city!!!
Came here early morning to a longer line then I was expecting. Parking is pretty easy, either in the lot or street. Great outdoor seating. Only one register was open, and there was only one that I saw. Line was slow and long but I wasn't in any rush. I got a hazelnut toffee latte and an iced matcha. Both well made not too much ice at all which I appreciate. I was going to get a pastry but they don't offer to heat up the pastry. Maybe next time I come I'll grab an avocado toast. Really nice lawn area. Coffee is served without a cover so you can add sugar and your own cover and straw in the little section. Indoor seating is scarce I'll be back for sure. Great vibe all around, cash register guy was super chill

Love this area. They have a few laptop-friendly tables inside, but the outdoor space is really what makes this place amazing. It's a shared open space with Pop Pie, Stella, and a brewery, with lots of tables under the trees which was the perfect mix of sun and shade on a beautiful sunny day :) It's also very family-friendly, which adds to the vibe. I was able to grab a seat inside to work and study, which worked out well. I ordered a latte, which was good, but unfortunately they don't offer "for here" ceramic cups :( I'd still come back to get some work done and enjoy the space.
Revolution Roasters is located in a shopping center with a couple of other food vendors. Seating inside is limited but there is a good amount of seating outside. The esthetic is really nice and as good as the coffee. It looks like they have seasonal offering that changes with the four seasons of the year. For spring seasonal I had a pistachio latte. I really liked what I can only assume is their in house syrup. Think Starbucks pistachio latte, but two times better. This coffee place is for those who don't do Starbucks. Vanilla flat white was just as good. I would say Carlsbad for coffee this place is a must stop. read more

We love to visit this coffee shop when we visit Carlsbad. It's such a beautiful spot for families. There is an outdoor yard area for kids to play and run around. Wonderful and delicious coffee in the heart of Carlsbad Village! I've been it this one a few times and every time the coffee hits the spot. Beautiful outdoor patio to the side and in the shared open space. Originally I tried them in Oceanside a long time ago and same quality and taste, pretty consistent! Workers are nice and decent wait times with average coffee pricing. Parking is easy with the lot right next to it. read more

Terrible. Came in today for my girlfriend's birthday, ordered a Lavender Honey Latte with light ice. Which I guess light ice is an extra $1, so my total is now $8. My latte was garbage, it tasted like a glass of milk no joke. No flavor, at all. If I wanted a glass of milk for $8 I would've gone to the store and bought a gallon and poured it over ice. Literally just tasted like milk and nothing else. See below how pale and ass my latte looks for $8!!! DO NOT COME HERE YOUR LATTE WILL LITERALLY JUST TASTE LIKE MILK. I watched the barista pour soooo much milk into my drink. And no, I didn't ask for extra milk. The cashier rung it up that way for no reason. Ridiculous mistake, if I ask for light ice why would that mean I want extra milk that makes it a 12oz glass of milk??? Yikes read more

Our latte tasted very plain and basic but it lacked the coffee taste, it felt like it was just milk. But our sandwich, the salmon toast was hands down the best toast I've ever had. That recipe and presentation was marvelous. It was gorgeously presented, like you were dining at a Michelin restaurant. The service was nice and friendly, the lady who took our order smiled a lot. the ambience inside was nice with cool merchandise and a cozy interior, there was also a ton of outdoor seating. read more

Stopped by Revolution Roasters in Carlsbad and grabbed a matcha latte and a vegan pop tart. Such a good combo! The matcha latte was solid, good ratio of matcha to milk and you could tell they were using quality ingredients. Their outdoor space provided plenty of chairs and tables to sit down and enjoy the warm California weather. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Perfect spot to catch up on some work or just unwind with a good cup of matcha. read more

Very cute coffee shop with good quality coffee and matcha! Matcha was on the pricier side (for $9 for a small strawberry matcha and no milk subs) but definitely delicious. Quite a few pastry options available at 3pm on a weekday and they certainly got us through the hunger hump before dinner. Loved the communal space shared with other businesses. Fast wifi and lots of outdoor seating available. read more

I've been a fan of Revolution Roasters for years and was excited to finally try the Carlsbad location. They have a great space in the village! Loved all the outdoor seating on their patio and the common area patio. Really easy to find parking in the public lot. I did try their seasonal pumpkin spice latte and my husband had the salted rosemary cold foam latte. I liked my pumpkin spice latte but its wasn't too strong of a pumpkin spice flavor. I typically order their lavender honey or maple latte so I am just used to a stronger syrup. The coffee itself was still great! My husband and I both enjoyed his salted rosemary cold foam latte as the cold foam was a perfect balance with the coffee, not making it overly sweet. Will absolutely be back to try out even more of their large menu! read more

This is one of my favorite coffee shops, honestly probably in my top 2-3. As a local to the area, I can't stop coming back! The baristas are all very friendly. The pastries are me and my wife's favorite all time from coffee shops, with a rotating seasonal menu that is house made, fresh, and creative! The ambiance is solid. And the coffee is always consistently great. 1000% recommend this place! They also have allergy friendly options, for those that are gluten free, as well as sandwiches and toasts. Great community spot to visit as well! read more

In keeping with my Slayer series I need an update to my earlier review- I'm testing a new theory...and it's that anyone who is willing to invest in a Slayer espresso machine, they care a lot about their beans. So stop five on my Slayer-theory tour is Revolution Roasters. And so far, my theory is testing mostly true. Technically this is just an add-on to the Oceanside location's review but deserves a review in it's own right. The espresso here is almost perfect and I absolutely love this place. Come here for the vibe, come here for the location, but mostly, come here for the espresso. read more

After an appt I was craving some coffee and a bite. Across the street I saw Revo. Popped over there to check out the menu. First thing I saw was Butterscotch Latte. I'm in! Walked inside and it had the best vibe. Kinda beachy ambiance and a little boho. I was greeted right away. Not rushed on my order and she was super friendly. Food came right up. A decent sized "pop tart". Apple Ginger to be exact. Flavorful and flaky. The latte was entering I thought it would be. Touch and creamy and not overpowering. Definitely check this Out when you're in Carlsbad. read more

Love this place. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The flat white there is good. I had the orange cranberry scone on a recent visit and will be ordering that again. My daughter really enjoyed her latte and potato leek pastry. The prep line moves a bit slow, but the coffee is delicious and we all need to slow down a bit and relax anyway. It's a busy place, a bit of a tight squeeze while waiting. Ample seating outside, did not have any issues finding parking. We'll be back! read more

Did a quick search for coffee while on our trip to the Carlsbad area and decided to try Revolution Roasters. There was a huge line to order wrapping around the building so my expectations were high. There was just one person taking orders and two baristas making drinks. I had the iced hazelnut toffee latte and my husband had the butterscotch latte we both felt the lattes were missing flavor and just tasted like milk and espresso. Not sure if I got them on an off day but wasn't for me on this particular day, their pastries looked great if I hadn't already ate I would have definitely tried some out. read more

Loved this find! Passing through and needed caffeine to kick off a road trip. It was easy to get to off Highway 5. Super cute location with generous parking in the lot next to it. Just walk through the little white gates into this little nook of Carlsbad Village. The shop itself doesn't have seating (or at least, I didn't notice any) but there is a "yard" with picnic tables to hang out and maybe grab a bite from the Pop Pie spot next door. (They were closed but that will be a future visit.) Since it is summer, coconut called my name. Got myself an iced coconut latte with a little bit of chocolate in it, 25% sweet. If I could have, I might enjoy one that is 15% sweet because I don't like my bevvies sweet but I loved its creamy coconut flavor. I also got a banana bread that was absolutely divine. Fluffy banana bread....! Delish! The person helping me was super patient and helpful. I'll be back! Can't wait! read more

When we arrived, there were five people in line. After we ordered, there were 20 people behind us. You've been warned. There should be 20 people in line at all times at this excellent coffee shop. The decor is funky and delightful. The coffee drinks are interesting and delicious. The pastries are incredible. They have giant housemade pop tarts. The toasts are wonderful. It's dog and kid friendly and there is a huge patio out back with many tables. What more could you want? The Butterscotch Latte was solid but the Campfire Cold Foam Brew was a delicacy of chocolate, marshmallows, and a fantastic foam top. The lemon lime berry pop tart was perfectly balanced, large, and not too sweet. The avocado and pickled onion toast came with two pieces of local bakery Prager Brothers bread, avocado, and very mild hot pink pickled onions. It was delicious. If I lived a little closer, this would be my local coffee shop and I doubt I would ever cheat on them. It's got it all. read more

We came here on a Sunday around 4:00 pm. The private parking lot that they share with other businesses was full, so I found free parking on the street and had to walk a little. This place was buzzing with business. There is inside and outside seating. I ordered the iced matcha latte with the campfire cream top and it was absolutely amazing. read more

We stopped by Carlsbad Village and found Revo and it was super cute! They have a parking lot connected to them, as well as street parking. There was a line out the door, but it moved really quickly. We ordered a Matcha Latte, Maple Latte, a Pop Tart, and a sandwich. The sandwich was super yummy, and the pop tart to me was on the sweeter side. Their latte's were yummy as well, between the two I liked the Maple Latte. They had outdoor seating area and it was such a cute little patio area that was spacious. Such a cute place to stay If you WFH or need a little study area! If you're in the area, I recommend to drop by! read more

Walked over for a quick coffee and bite to eat. There are two outdoor seating options and small single seats inside. I opted for the campfire cold foam coffee, my mom ordered the black iced tea with lavender. The coffee was on the spectrum of a Spanish latte with marshmallow foam and graham crackers. So obviously I'm all for that. Our drinks came out quickly and toast was served to the table. The toast was delicious but I felt the burrata toast lacked burrata. Each toast was $14 and you really felt it at the end. In total, we spent $44 for two drinks and two toasts.... I'm on vacation so I'll let that slide. I came here on the way to an event in Carlsbad for a quick pick me up. I ordered a matcha latte and it turned out to be just what I needed to feel a little bit of a jolt before heading on to work an event. The shop itself is adorable. I especially loved the wallpaper in the restroom and just ambiance of the space overall. It isn't that big, but there's definitely some tables available for working if needed. They do have a really cute outdoor space as well. I also grabbed a shortbread cookie and it hit the spot! Would def consider coming back here when in Carlsbad again. read more

By far my favorite coffee place in the village- my coffee (usually a vanilla latte) always tastes perfect. Definitely not like other coffee places where you hope it to be the same each time only to find out it always tastes different. The croissant is perfectly crispy outside with yummy soft center. I come here a couple times a week and it's never a let down. Service is always friendly. There's a patio right off the place but also open space for the daughter to run around. It gets busy on weekends- earlier the better! read more

Stopped here on a whim as I was on the market for a latte and the line and a cute exterior caught my eye. This place is situated in a mini food market of sorts with some small shops for desserts, food, and drinks. I got an iced chai latte and didn't have any issues. Wouldn't have minded a stronger chai flavor, but overall pretty good (7.5/10). There was a good amount of seating outside and plenty of space to roam. Would like to come back to try some of their bakery items - the house made strawberry poptart was definitely calling to me. read more
