I am very confused at the hype and reviews for this restaurant. It's an okay brunch spot at best. The attention for this place is driven by dishes catered towards Instagram and eating with your eyes, not the actual experience of eating with your hands and mouth. It's tough to get a table for a weekend noon. I booked our reservation a few weeks ahead of time. Parking is either near the train tracks across the street or on the curb. We got the egg dish and salad bowl. The yogurt for the eggs was deliciously spiced; dipping in the toasted bread into the gooey poached egg, creamy yogurt, and herbs was delicious! My issue with this dish were the herbs that were too large. Was I expected to stick a big piece of herb on my toast? The dish is saucy with the chili oil so my clothes were dirty with the oil covered herbs. Chop the herbs smaller for practicality! Another dish suffered from the execution. We got the bowl which I thought was going to be a grain bowl. Rather, it was a ridiculously-sized salad--as much leaves as a pack from the grocery store! There were toppings within like slices of avocado, pieces of orange, farro, and nuts. I felt like I was trying to treasure hunt to look for these pieces. The salad was comically oversized. It was dressed fine but suffered from the portion size. You could see this theme with the French toast too where you get 1/3 of a baked bread. I'm honestly confused by this chef who has amazing experience. Why do you construct dishes that are difficult and impractical to eat? Less is more. These dishes need extensive edits. Wow, what an excellent experience! Service, food and ambience. A friend took me out here and I was impressed with everything. The decor is very eclectic, artistic, and even their bathroom, it was a bit quaint. It is cozy, the kind of place you feel like hanging out for hours, although, it would not probably be reasonable to do so, as there is a line of people waiting. Food was amazing, fine, distinct in flavor, with attention to the smallest details. I wish they would open places like this down in the Southbay. Price is reasonable considered the quality. PLANNING A VISIT: We planned ahead and booked our table 2-3 weeks in advance. We even arrived early, yet still faced a 30-minute wait which is a tough sell for a party who came hungry. AMBIANCE: The space is undeniably gorgeous, but the dining area itself is cramped, small, and fully outdoors. The weather was manageable, though standing in line in the heat while waiting wasn't exactly a great start to the meal. SERVICE: Our server was genuinely helpful and attentive for the most part, but there were some noticeable hiccups, with our dishes initially placed at the wrong table, and the overall pace of service felt slow. Taking the hubby on a small road trip and did a search for places to stop by and get some grub and Manna kept popping up so decided to make a reservation. Neither of us are big brunch people. I remember doing brunch back in the late 80s in NY and then going antiquing. That was a thing. Decided to try it anyhow since the photos look amazing. On the way down, there were accidents along the 5bfway and what should have been a 1.5 hour trip ended up taking over two hours. We were afraid to miss the place as they are open only until 2. We made it 40 minutes later than our reservation but we were quickly accommodated. And what a surprise. We had tow of their signature dishes. The Turkish eggs and the French toast. We also added the crudo and some non alcoholic cocktails. Service was friendly and efficient. The host welcoming and friendly, we chatted about traffic coming down and he gave us some history of the restaurant and other ventures. If brunch was like this back home I'd probably be brunching more often. I'd definitely would come back. First time trying this place. Have had it saved for a little while. Parking is street and didn't have issues on a Saturday. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 15-17min which was odd but not a big deal as we weren't in a rush. They were definitely packed so understandable. The staff were all friendly and our server esp was knowledgeable, friendly and made great suggestions. I think her name was Stacia? Had the Veracruz drink which was SO tasty but VERY tiny. It was $11 and what massive sized balls of ice so in reality it ended up being a few sips I probably would not order again not because it didn't taste good but because you hardly get anything. The Turkish eggs + side of steak was fantastic! Probably my fav dish I've had in awhile. The portion of steak was unfortunately on the smaller side but perfectly cooked. Reservations encouraged and be prepared to have your palette wowed. We had a 10:30am reservation and were seated promptly. I ordered the Jasper Elixir which was bright, tangy, had a hint of cherry and coffee notes. The food was amazing, most notably the Turkish eggs with bread and the guava panna cotta. The poached eggs sit atop this luxurious herbed yogurt and chili oil with tons of fresh herbs. Once you break the yolk, you dip the crusty bread and gobble it up. The bites were creamy, velvety, tangy, and had a hint of spice. The guava panna cotta was really lovely, beautifully presented, and a nice sweet ending. I would pass on the French toast. It's a 1/3 of a loaf of bread that is soaked in custard but not enough to soak all the way through so the middle is dry and just like eating a piece of dry bread. I think the presentation is a wow factor but otherwise a let down. I appreciated our server warning us how carb heavy our meal was when we wanted to order another item. He was not only correct in his assessment but saved us money and embarrassment from not being able to finish had we ordered it. The restaurant used to house Moto, so it was weird sitting at a nicely set table where I used to sit on a bench eating my BLT in my swimsuit. This is my 4th time enjoying brunch at Manna and it is did not disappoint. They opened reservations recently and I highly recommend making one if you're planning to come. We had a 9am reservation and there was already a large group of people waiting to get in at the entrance when we arrived. The tonics are a must when coming to Manna. The drinks are innovative and delicious and there is something for everyone. They are also beautifully presented which makes the drinks extra enjoyable. We got the Torrija toast and the Cilbir which tend to be the most popular food items on the menu for good reason. The torrija changes flavors. This was the yuzu cheesecake one and it was delicious and filling. Sweet but not overly sweet. The eggs were savory and delicious and perfectly poached. Admittedly, the food can take a while to come out. The kitchen is small and they make everything per order. I emailed them to make a reservation, but it took a while to get a confirmation back. It wasn't until I got there that I noticed a Michelin recommendation plaque on their wall outside. Seating is outside under a cover and they had heat lamps going to help with the morning chill. The servers were attentive and helpful. So if you're looking for a classic breakfast -- this is not the spot. However? We had the Turkish eggs and the breakfast sandwich and both lived up to hype I've heard about this place. The sandwich was really good and packed with flavor, especially the garlic drip sauce that had in it and the Turkish eggs were fantastic and flavorful --- there's a reason it's their most popular dish! Overall -- food was fantastic! So, why the 4 stars and not 5? 1. They don't have an espresso machine, which means your breakfast is limited to drip coffee or cold brew. It's good, but for a place billing itself as a a more upscale spot -- seems like a miss. 2. Food comes out "when it's ready". Not a bad concept when at a dinner and there are lots of plates and apps on the table so everyone always has something. But for a breakfast spot where you typically order one thing, it can make it awkward. The Turkish eggs came out a full 10 minutes before the sandwich. Odd. 3. The price. I'm all about expensive meals, but for an $80 breakfast after tip, it's on the high side for sure. 4. There is a 3% additional charge to "offset fluctuating food costs and economic conditions,". To me, that's called the cost of doing business. Just add 3% to the prices on the menu and be done with it - this always grind my gears when restaurants do this. It's just sneaky, even when printed on the menu. The service, lastly, was great!! Friendly and really knowledgeable on the menu. So ...will I be back? Reservations are strongly recommended, as they switched up from Toast waitlist to reservations, so when we walked in right at 9am, it was fine, but the host mentioned to make reservations online (requiring deposit for minimum spend - $50 for 2 people) shortly after as it was a full house even on a Wednesday. We got the Turkish eggs and Spanish French toast. The Turkish eggs were good but not impressive for the price, cooked perfectly runny, and chili oil on the side to accommodate my brother's nut allergy. It came with some toast. The Torrija (Spanish French toast) is massive. I'd say calories wise felt 4x more than the Turkish eggs, so this was a better value and a lot more unique and more aesthetic. It was a bit on the sweeter side but I enjoyed the filling inside and it was a delicate balance of crunchy and soft. We also got some mocktails - I got the maroon which was very refreshing and felt like I don't need a cocktail to enjoy a brunch. My brother got the Antigua which is a carbonated coffee drink. I had the parakeet which was presented in a glass with huge ice cubes and what was left was filled by foam and the drink itself. It touted that it contained matcha and pandan but I tasted neither. At $10, it surely wasn't worth it. The Turkish eggs, panna cotta, halibut crudo, and French toast were all very good. The French toast was on the heavier side with raspberry and chocolate. Halibut crudo had a good portion of fish and was refreshing. Panna cotta was creamy and the guava tapioca was a nice touch. The star for me was the Turkish eggs, which were perfectly poached and the blend of the chili garlic butter and herbed yogurt was delicious. The bread was definitely needed to wipe the plate clean. While the taste was great, one of the sliced bread had mold which dampered the experience. The line was really long but at the same time, it was nice because they tell you, if you're on the waitlist you WILL BE SERVED. So that was a pleasant surprise to know. Stoked I finally got to try Atelier Manna! I've been wanting to come here forever but finally got around to it. I went for a late brunch on a Friday and the place was still packed. We had a noon reservation but got seated around 12:15/12:20. We started with a wellness shot which was good. For our food, we ordered the Turkish eggs, panna cotta and the famous Spanish French toast. We were lucky enough to get the last French toast, although I saw they snuck one out to Tony Hawk's table after us I have to say, while the French toast was tasty, it was my least favorite of the times we ordered. The Turkish eggs with shrimp were super epic and the bread that accompanied it was divine. The panna cotta was also a delicious surprise. Not something I would normally order but really glad I did. Overall, pricey and packed but the food is solid. Definitely go for the Turkish eggs! read more

I've had this place on my list for a while and I'm so glad I made the trip down! Do yourself a favor and hop onto the online waitlist maybe 30ish minutes before you arrive. The wait was pretty long for just two of us on Sunday morning (1 hour). But we were able to easily pass time at a coffee shop nearby. The service was probably the best service I've had at a casual place like this? It's a place that acts like a Michelin establishment but is still pretty laidback. Highlights for us were definitely the congee and grapefruit panna cotta. The congee had such depth - I'm guessing from miso. It was delicious. The panna cotta had a fun tapioca texture and it was so refreshing. The French toast was good but it was pretty filling. I could've used half the portion, honestly.
