"Addison's Brunch" Placed perfectly along the sunkissed Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas is a quaint brunch spot serving up culinary wizardry. I've gotten the chance to visit a few times and I'm always impressed with how they balance serious cooking with approachable flavors. Chef Andrew Bachelier (Addison, Jeune et Jolie, Campfire) brings his take on a foodie workshop that dazzles with amazing brunch food and an imaginative drinks bar. The food was phenomenal. Turkish Eggs were super flavorful and fresh. Almost like eating an herby ramen egg on crusty toast with all the fresh herbs and chili oil. The hamachi crudo was delicate and fresh. The pork chop was sumptuous with an excellent sauce. But my favorite had to be the sourdough french toast. It actually blew my mind how the outside was crispy and crackley but the inside was moist, gooey but not mushy. I heard from the waiter they soak the bread in a custard or syrup for 72 hrs to get that texture and yet the outside is crispy. Sorcery. In short, this is the brunch spot of all brunch spots, combining michelin star level cooking with beloved breakfast foods. Really enjoyed my visit to Atelier Manna!! First, they are now TAKING RESERVATIONS. We didn't realize that until morning of. It's easier for them and easier for us - they can count how many people are coming & you don't have to worry about waiting an hour. Vibes are great. Food is lovely (though expensive!). My fave dish was the amazing summer porridge. Sure it's $32 for the dish - but this is a Michelin-quality place (Bib Gourmand, not a star) so not for every day and it was delicious. Basically like a risotto, ate every grain. Check out the gorgeous pic! People are high on the Turkish eggs - but I thought they were meh, and tiny for $23. Not one of the best values here, IMHO. We wanted to try the vaunted French toast, but they had run out by the time of our reservation. On the recommendation of our server & my friend Jiansen in his review here, we also ordered the Pistachio Bread Pudding. It was beautiful, tasty, light and photo worthy! And also on Jiansen's rec, I tried the jasper, which was like a cold coffee mocktail on the rocks (steady state coffee. cherry. chaga. vanilla. rose vinegar. lemon). Tasty and interesting! We really liked the vibes too. They take reservations for 1:30 pm, though they're closing technically at 2. The manager (whose name I am forgetting - but he is from Philly and super nice!) told us "they don't close" and we could sit and enjoy & not be in their way while they closed up, but a few of the other staff members seemed to be wanting us to leave. So keep that in mind if you get one of the last reservations; lingering with a friend might be a bit challenging. But we had a great time, and I especially enjoyed the summer porridge. I'll definitely come again (and know I should make a reservation) - but it's probably better to come earlier before they run out of anything & before we're in their way while they're cleaning up! I love the ambiance here, especially on the outdoor patio. Lots of cushions, comfortable temperature, and protected from the sun. The menu is small and it's fairly pricey, but it's a nice experience. Turkish eggs - 2 soft boiled eggs in a savory sauce with lots of herbs. Scoop it all up with a few slices of bread. There is one vegan option which is a grain bowl - lots of greens and tasty dressing. One thing to note - food comes out as it's ready so if your group likes to wait for everyone to be served before eating, you may be waiting quite a long time. This spot is one of my favorites for brunch. My friend took me here for my bday in 2024. I've been back and every time I go, there is a wait. On my first visit, I ordered the Turkish eggs and she opted for the scallops and grits. It's outdoor patio seating only something to keep in mind for when the weather gets cold/rainy. We went in on a Saturday at 9. Got their french toast, sprouts porridge, and cilbir and tried 3 of their tonics! Loved everything. With Atelier Manna's Michelin guide recognition, my expectations were high, however, a few pain points kept it from living up to the hype. PLANNING A VISIT: We planned ahead and booked our table 2-3 weeks in advance. We even arrived early, yet still faced a 30-minute wait which is a tough sell for a party who came hungry. AMBIANCE: The space is undeniably gorgeous, but the dining area itself is cramped, small, and fully outdoors. The weather was manageable, though standing in line in the heat while waiting wasn't exactly a great start to the meal. SERVICE: Our server was genuinely helpful and attentive for the most part, but there were some noticeable hiccups, with our dishes initially placed at the wrong table, and the overall pace of service felt slow. FOOD: This is where Atelier Manna earns its stripes. You can truly taste the craft and artistry in every dish. + Çılbır aka Turkish Eggs ($23): A standout. Soft poached eggs beautifully balanced with herbed yogurt and chili garlic butter, served on perfectly crunchy sourdough toast. Taking the hubby on a small road trip and did a search for places to stop by and get some grub and Manna kept popping up so decided to make a reservation. Neither of us are big brunch people. I remember doing brunch back in the late 80s in NY and then going antiquing. That was a thing. Decided to try it anyhow since the photos look amazing. On the way down, there were accidents along the 5bfway and what should have been a 1.5 hour trip ended up taking over two hours. We were afraid to miss the place as they are open only until 2. We made it 40 minutes later than our reservation but we were quickly accommodated. And what a surprise. We had tow of their signature dishes. The Turkish eggs and the French toast. We also added the crudo and some non alcoholic cocktails. Service was friendly and efficient. The host welcoming and friendly, we chatted about traffic coming down and he gave us some history of the restaurant and other ventures. If brunch was like this back home I'd probably be brunching more often. I'd definitely would come back. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful in recommending items that we had questions about. I Vitality tonic: 5/5 Delicious, refreshing, unique, elegant. I can't remember if I got the Goldenrod or the other one whose name I can't remember, but both were lovely! Turkish eggs with added hangar steak: 4/5 Could have used more bread for dipping, but it was a very flavorful dish. Hangar steak was cooked perfectly. However, without steak, the Turkish eggs would have been very small so would not recommend unless you add a protein or get two dishes for yourself. First time trying this place. Have had it saved for a little while. Parking is street and didn't have issues on a Saturday. We had a reservation but still had to wait about 15-17min which was odd but not a big deal as we weren't in a rush. They were definitely packed so understandable. The staff were all friendly and our server esp was knowledgeable, friendly and made great suggestions. I think her name was Stacia? Had the Veracruz drink which was SO tasty but VERY tiny. It was $11 and what massive sized balls of ice so in reality it ended up being a few sips I probably would not order again not because it didn't taste good but because you hardly get anything. The Turkish eggs + side of steak was fantastic! Probably my fav dish I've had in awhile. The portion of steak was unfortunately on the smaller side but perfectly cooked. The Spanish French toast on the other hand was quite large and beautifully plated. The flavors paired well together. Perfectly crunch on the outside and softer interior. Reservations encouraged and be prepared to have your palette wowed. We had a 10:30am reservation and were seated promptly. I ordered the Jasper Elixir which was bright, tangy, had a hint of cherry and coffee notes. The food was amazing, most notably the Turkish eggs with bread and the guava panna cotta. The poached eggs sit atop this luxurious herbed yogurt and chili oil with tons of fresh herbs. Once you break the yolk, you dip the crusty bread and gobble it up. The bites were creamy, velvety, tangy, and had a hint of spice. The guava panna cotta was really lovely, beautifully presented, and a nice sweet ending. I would pass on the French toast. It's a 1/3 of a loaf of bread that is soaked in custard but not enough to soak all the way through so the middle is dry and just like eating a piece of dry bread. I think the presentation is a wow factor but otherwise a let down. I appreciated our server warning us how carb heavy our meal was when we wanted to order another item. He was not only correct in his assessment but saved us money and embarrassment from not being able to finish had we ordered it. The restaurant used to house Moto, so it was weird sitting at a nicely set table where I used to sit on a bench eating my BLT in my swimsuit. I am very confused at the hype and reviews for this restaurant. It's an okay brunch spot at best. The attention for this place is driven by dishes catered towards Instagram and eating with your eyes, not the actual experience of eating with your hands and mouth. It's tough to get a table for a weekend noon. I booked our reservation a few weeks ahead of time. Parking is either near the train tracks across the street or on the curb. We got the egg dish and salad bowl. The yogurt for the eggs was deliciously spiced; dipping in the toasted bread into the gooey poached egg, creamy yogurt, and herbs was delicious! My issue with this dish were the herbs that were too large. Was I expected to stick a big piece of herb on my toast? The dish is saucy with the chili oil so my clothes were dirty with the oil covered herbs. Chop the herbs smaller for practicality! Another dish suffered from the execution. We got the bowl which I thought was going to be a grain bowl. Rather, it was a ridiculously-sized salad--as much leaves as a pack from the grocery store! There were toppings within like slices of avocado, pieces of orange, farro, and nuts. I felt like I was trying to treasure hunt to look for these pieces. The salad was comically oversized. It was dressed fine but suffered from the portion size. You could see this theme with the French toast too where you get 1/3 of a baked bread. I'm honestly confused by this chef who has amazing experience. Why do you construct dishes that are difficult and impractical to eat? Less is more. These dishes need extensive edits. I loved the panna cotta with seasonal fruits. The side of hangar steak is also pretty good but $16. Actually everything we ordered was pretty good but pricey. This is my 4th time enjoying brunch at Manna and it is did not disappoint. They opened reservations recently and I highly recommend making one if you're planning to come. We had a 9am reservation and there was already a large group of people waiting to get in at the entrance when we arrived. The tonics are a must when coming to Manna. The drinks are innovative and delicious and there is something for everyone. They are also beautifully presented which makes the drinks extra enjoyable. We got the Torrija toast and the Cilbir which tend to be the most popular food items on the menu for good reason. The torrija changes flavors. This was the yuzu cheesecake one and it was delicious and filling. Sweet but not overly sweet. The eggs were savory and delicious and perfectly poached. Admittedly, the food can take a while to come out. The kitchen is small and they make everything per order. I've been here twice now and I highly recommend. Everything has been delicious. I'm the kind of person who likes to try new things but I ordered the Turkish eggs both times because they are so amazing. My boyfriend got the French toast once and the breakfast sandwich the second time. Both very good. The French toast is huge and we ended up taking most of it home but it was great as leftovers too. The service was good, we had the same waiter both times but I unfortunately forget his name. The food comes out as it's ready which is fine by me but just a heads up, depending on what you order, you may not be eating the same time as everyone else at your table. The restaurant is cute, cozy, and definitely make a reservation any day or time just to be safe. Had a decent experience coming here for brunch! This is a spot located in Leucadia. Parking will either be on the street or in the dirt lot a couple mins walk away. Seating is minimal with outdoor patio tables. Service was friendly and attentive. As most trendy restaurants, the food will be smaller portions for a decent/hefty price. I would not come here if you are pretty hungry or expecting a regular breakfast menu. We ordered the French Toast, ceviche, and Turkish eggs. The ceviche had good flavor and tasted fresh. I would've expected it to be served with chips. The Turkish eggs tasted nice with the chili oil and yogurt. I would recommend this. I did also find the French toast to be unique and delicious. I do think this dish was actually worth it. They do have a limited drink menu, I got one mimosa for $15. It tasted like it was made with fresh oranges. What a wonderful breakfast spot in Encinitas! The menu is fresh and different and leans toward foodies rather than traditional breakfast spots. So if you're looking for a classic breakfast -- this is not the spot. However? We had the Turkish eggs and the breakfast sandwich and both lived up to hype I've heard about this place. The sandwich was really good and packed with flavor, especially the garlic drip sauce that had in it and the Turkish eggs were fantastic and flavorful --- there's a reason it's their most popular dish! Overall -- food was fantastic! So, why the 4 stars and not 5? 1. They don't have an espresso machine, which means your breakfast is limited to drip coffee or cold brew. It's good, but for a place billing itself as a a more upscale spot -- seems like a miss. 2. Food comes out "when it's ready". Not a bad concept when at a dinner and there are lots of plates and apps on the table so everyone always has something. But for a breakfast spot where you typically order one thing, it can make it awkward. The Turkish eggs came out a full 10 minutes before the sandwich. Odd. 3. The price. I'm all about expensive meals, but for an $80 breakfast after tip, it's on the high side for sure. 4. There is a 3% additional charge to "offset fluctuating food costs and economic conditions,". To me, that's called the cost of doing business. Just add 3% to the prices on the menu and be done with it - this always grind my gears when restaurants do this. It's just sneaky, even when printed on the menu. The service, lastly, was great!! Friendly and really knowledgeable on the menu. So ...will I be back? The Turkish eggs were fantastic -- tangy and rich with Prager Bros. bread to dip. The French toast was good, it was very sweet and almost like a bread pudding in the middle of a fat slice of bread. My favorite dish was the chicken roulade! I was so surprised at the flavor of it all -- the tamarind sauce was a perfect compliment to the lime, cilantro, and other toppings. Excellent outdoor patio type of restaurant in Encinitas, serving a variety of brunch dishes that is more unique than the typical brunch fare you would find around the area. Reservations are strongly recommended, as they switched up from Toast waitlist to reservations, so when we walked in right at 9am, it was fine, but the host mentioned to make reservations online (requiring deposit for minimum spend - $50 for 2 people) shortly after as it was a full house even on a Wednesday. We got the Turkish eggs and Spanish French toast. The Turkish eggs were good but not impressive for the price, cooked perfectly runny, and chili oil on the side to accommodate my brother's nut allergy. It came with some toast. The Torrija (Spanish French toast) is massive. I'd say calories wise felt 4x more than the Turkish eggs, so this was a better value and a lot more unique and more aesthetic. It was a bit on the sweeter side but I enjoyed the filling inside and it was a delicate balance of crunchy and soft. Honestly one of the best dining experiences in a while. From their fresh spritzes to their dishes, they don't miss. I cannot remember the name of the drink they had, but it was green if that helps? Lol. I believe they only use fresh ingredients that are currently in season. I loved my drink. My friend and her husband arrived later than us and I had her try my drink. She loved it too but by the time she ordered, they no longer had that drink available bc they ran out T.T My husband absolutely loved the hamachi crudo. I was so sad and jealous, but I couldn't risk eating raw fish during my last trimester of pregnancy. I will definitely have to go back to try that dish because I love yellowtail. I have been wanting to try Manna since they opened and FINALLY had a chance to go today! Wow! Everything was so delicious. This funky, quaint establishment just received a Michelin star and it's no surprise why. Everything from the drinks to the food and dessert was boasting with flavor. I was sad to learn they were out of the French toast which is supposed to be a signature dish. So I went with the breakfast sandwich and it was amazing- I ate the entire thing (which I never do). I wasn't planning on ordering a drink but after seeing vivacious beverages on all the other tables I opted for the Arnold Palmer, made with hibiscus tea- wow! So delicious and refreshing!! Still wanting something sweet after not being able to get the French toast I got the featured bread pudding (which was pistachio) and it was unreal. I genuinely love this place for their creativity and bold flavor! I wanted to give this place a higher rating but just can't !!! I had couple experiences here that gave me a pause... Three of our serving plates had chips in them and the bread came with our meal had visible mold on it. I understand things can happen, but those are hard to overlook. Another issue is the layout. There is a restroom located just right next to the open kitchen, customers needing to use it, have to walk through and wait directly where the food is being prepared. It feels a bit awkward and not ideal for a place with such an elevated feel. I really think this place is full of potential but I hope they address these issues, because they are as important as the flavor. read more

Small place with only outdoor seating. For the amount of space they have I think they utilized it well. However, the narrow space where I had to wait to use the bathroom was also the space frequented by the staff and it was a tad too congested. The service was friendly and our water was always filled. While the food for the most part was delicious and beautifully presented, the mocktail drinks were overpriced and a major disappointment. I had the parakeet which was presented in a glass with huge ice cubes and what was left was filled by foam and the drink itself. It touted that it contained matcha and pandan but I tasted neither. At $10, it surely wasn't worth it. The Turkish eggs, panna cotta, halibut crudo, and French toast were all very good. The French toast was on the heavier side with raspberry and chocolate. Halibut crudo had a good portion of fish and was refreshing. Panna cotta was creamy and the guava tapioca was a nice touch. The star for me was the Turkish eggs, which were perfectly poached and the blend of the chili garlic butter and herbed yogurt was delicious. The bread was definitely needed to wipe the plate clean. While the taste was great, one of the sliced bread had mold which dampered the experience. So, lots of good things but also some misses and because of the misses, the wait and prices aren't justified. read more

The salad was too spicy and dry while was very over priced, my wife couldn't eat it charged($27) , my food was ok but I never ask for salmon on as a side for Turkish breakfast and I was charged ($36) and ($6) for bread and butter it was very overpriced and not very tasty, never will go again , also they charge you 3% for service charge ( we don't have this in Orange County) it say on the bottom of receipt if you don't wanna pay the 3% please ask us to remove it, but will read and ask :):):)! read more

Manna recently made it on to the Michelin guide for their well crafted non-alcoholic beverages and fresh food creations that are pleasing to the eyes and stomach! Our server was so wonderful at explaining all of the dishes and the different flavors that we would experience. We had to try some of their famous crafted beverages, I got the Arnold Palmer and Cognitive wellness shot. The Turkish eggs are the perfect starter to share if you are hungry! The taste of the fresh bread dipped in chili garlic butter and herbed yogurt with poached eggs was to die for. Our favorite was the Spanish French toast which was thick cut sourdough with a delicious filling. I don't think I have ever had such an amazing breakfast dish. We just happened upon this little outdoor patio gem. Loved the ambiance music and rustic plating. Wonderful, friendly service, knowledge of the seasonal menu and offerings was so helpful and the food was ahhhhmazing!! Very talented chef!! We ordered the crudo... gorgeous presentation and delish; also ordered the Turkish eggs...so fresh and flavorful! Oh, and the pistachio bread pudding. SO DAMN GOOD!!
