I was definitely surprised by how spacious the place is and also how good their food is! Quite pricey though and some items may be fairly small for the price but definitely a good place for brunch! Came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon exactly at noon and there was actually no wait which is amazing. Had a nice spot outside on the patio and also brought our dog. This was a nice ambience for sure. Dulce de leche Chai latte was phenomenal! Husband got this one and he definitely made the right choice. There we asked for almond milk and were a little surprised that they charged an extra $1 for that. Not too bad though cuz that drink was delicious. Friends got the ibara mocha and raspberry mocha. But honestly, everyone agreed that the dulce chai latte was the best! Asparagus and roasted beet salad - 8/10 Honestly this was a really nice salad with flavors going really well together. We added some chicken on and it was a great source of protein. Chicken was not too oily and was also cooked really well. Only downside here for which I had to take off a major amount of points is the salad was actually very small. Quite expensive for the small portion size. Raspberry ricotta stuffed French toast - 10/10 This was absolutely amazing! Soft French toast with that raspberry compote and the ricotta filling on the inside was a really good combination. Quite a large amount of ricotta filling which was appreciated. Fresh berries on top were also abundant and overall a really good item on the menu. Fried green tomato sandwich Friend who was vegetarian got this and honestly we were both surprised how large the sandwich was! Really really good portion size with an abundant amount of filling inside. Also got some fries on the side which was nice. Value for money here. Salted Caramel Waffles Friends got this to share and nice how it was loaded up with pecans and bananas and came with Chantilly cream on the side as well. Waited a bit for walk-in dining, so I'd recommend joining the waitlist first. Food was fresh & delicious, if a bit simple, especially the sides. Great menu and food choices. The Tuscan Benedict was fantastic with bacon. It's really unique that it served on a delicious risotto cake. I have also gotten the short rib Benedict previously which is also delicious. The Greek yogurt with açai is very refreshing. We also sampled the lemon ricotta pancake, which was fluffy and yummy! The divorciado was savory and awesome with salsa verde and pico de gallo. Our table also shared the salted caramel waffle which was delicious . The coffee drinks are great too ! The Tuscan benedict was good, but the tomatoes slightly overpowered it. However the hash browns were perfectly crispy. One thing that was disappointing was our server. Claire's is consistently a great spot for brunch. My family has been coming here since they opened. When we have time we sit down in the restaurant for a relaxed meal. The Green Scramble is my go to meal at Claire's. I also request berries on the side and they are very fresh. The salmon Benedict my son tried during our last visit was delicious as well. We go lucky on a weekday and did not have a wait. There is typically a 30+ minute wait for a table. If you don't have time for a sit down mean, the walk up cafe has some delicious options. This place is amazing! Came here on a Wednesday at around 1020 am and there was a small line forming. We got seated almost immediately. However when we got our food, there was definitely a line. Lots of seating, no reservations tho, but you can get on the online waitlist through Yelp. You can park at the Solana Beach train station parking lot right across from the restaurant so it's great for that. Never have to worry about parking and have gone here right after a train ride before too. Definitely wanted to shout out the limoncello spritz, never seen or had anything like this before, but it's simple and was super refreshing on a hot day. I got the breakfast sandwich and it was real tasty, but it is standard breakfast items so I'm sure you've had something similar to this before, but still great nonetheless. The avocado toast (my pick) was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and served on bread they get from a local bakery, which is seriously next-level. That same bread made the cucumber sandwich and Peruvian chicken sandwich total standouts--fresh, crisp, and satisfying. The biscuits and gravy were decent, but not as memorable as the other dishes. The fresh-squeezed OJ was fire (super refreshing) and the mimosas hit the spot. Great place for a casual but high-quality meal. The service was good but when we first were given our cups for the orange juice one was exceptionally dirty, which they quickly changed out. I went to Santa Fe Christian just up the street for high school so I've been to Claire's many times over the years and this past weekend it was just as good as I had remembered. There is always a bit of a wait during weekend mornings and we were told we would have to wait 25 minutes, but it ended up being about 5 to 10 minutes. We were able to be seated inside, but they have plenty of heated outdoor seating in the back as well. Parking is extremely easy because there is a free parking lot in the back or it's also easy to find parking in the train station parking lot across the street. They don't have a very large menu, but it has a lot of great options on it. For my breakfast I started off with the Salted Caramel Latte and thought it was fantastic. Claire's is known to have some of the best coffee around and it was just as good as it always has been. For my entrée, I chose the Parmesan Risotto and Cured Bacon Benedict and really enjoyed it. It was an extremely unique take on a classic dish that I love so it was nice to have a different version. The hashbrowns on the side were fantastic and I would highly recommend anyone ordering them. Overall a great breakfast spot and somewhere that I would call a neighborhood gem. It's definitely a hit with the locals, but would be great for people visiting town as well. I hadn't been to Claire's in some time until this past weekend. I'm really glad to see they're still killing it! The back patio with the filtered light through the trees provided an amazing ambiance to have brunch. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. My latte was one of the better ones I have had in a while. It was bold and strong while being balanced. I had the brioche grilled cheese sandwich with sausage and it was fantastic. The bread was perfectly toasted and buttered, the sausage link was sliced longways and layered so you got a delicious bite each time, and the cheese was ample, so you got gooey goodness throughout the entire sandwich. 10/10, would order again. Claire's is amazing and you should go there. Be sure to check the website before you leave the house to get on the waitlist. It'll save you time waiting when you get there. read more
