Delicious food! I came here for brunch and ordered the berry kombucha, Korean bowl with chicken, and a kids portion of the pancakes. Everything was amazing and the staff was so kind!
Loved GOODONYA! They had a bunch of gf options ( the bakery had all gf good as well as a bunch of dairy free options as well) ! The brownie was really good! The salted caramel latte was perfect, not too sweet and tasted great! Highly recommend the smash burger (breakfast or regular you can't go wrong) , the pastrami sandwich and the fries! Service was quick and the staff was all kind! We sat outside and it was great !
Cute spot located in Encinitas with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be a bit challenging, but the location has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service did not match the setting. Despite several open tables, we had a lengthy wait before being seated. Once seated, no staff checked on us for quite some time, and I eventually had to flag down a server just to order drinks and food. The restaurant was not particularly busy, although they may have been short-staffed that day. When the food arrived, the portions felt small for the price. The flavors were decent, but overall the meal was underwhelming given the cost. The bottom slice of bread on the chicken pesto sandwich was soggy from the pesto sauce. The "smash" burger looked appetizing, but the patty was thick and resembled a traditional burger rather than a true smashed patty. For the price point, it would also be nice if the burgers and sandwiches included chips or fries. During the meal, our server checked in only once, and we again had to flag someone down to receive the bill. Overall, this is a casual café with a pleasant atmosphere, but the service and value did not justify the premium pricing. With improvements to service and food execution, it could be a much better experience.
My friend and I wanted something a little healthier for dinner so we decided to try out goodonya. I got the "everything but the sink" salad and she got the Thai salad. Both were generous portions and had tons of fun yummy toppings. We also got a small order of the fries to share which we both liked. Our server was super sweet and helpful. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so you shouldn't have trouble finding a table. We wanted something a little sweet so stopped by the market after and grabbed one of their chocolate chip cookies which was the perfect end to our meal.
Goodonya is such a fun spot! Loved the shop area and their wine bottle selection while waiting for a table, plenty of spots to lounge. My husband enjoyed the bone broth to sip on, and it was delicious with the fresh herbs on top. I also had the breakfast tacos, which were great. Only downside was service was a bit slow, but we went for Sunday brunch so that's probably to be expected with the crowd. Planning to come back on a quieter day, but I'll definitely be back!
Very nice experience here. The food was good the coffee was good really enjoyed the company met a very nice friend there. Absolutely love the little gift shop so cute and aesthetically pleasing. Definitely a fun place to check out and then take a walk over to the meditation gardens just around the block.

I also got the iced mint coffee, very good, with almond milk. I appreciate that they asked my milk preference. Got a cookie and it was small but very good, reminded me of my grandmas cookie. Soft and not too sweet but tasty. My husband got the chicken pesto sandwich and fries and he is a tough critic, but he liked it. He also got the cookie, but he said it wasn't sweet enough for him. Staff was nice and we had a nice spot outside under the umbrella. Perfect SD day. Would like to go back!

I didn't end up eating here but I did stop by for a golden milk and checked out their merch store, I was really impressed by all the options they had of those little niche products that you just want all of. I ended up getting their monkey brittle which was omg so tasty and I wish I was local so I could get it more often! The taste of the banana and the crunch from the nuts makes it such a perfectly balanced treat taste wise and all the ingredients are organic. I truly appreciate how healthy this place is! They only serve food with high quality ingredients no BS it's so refreshing to see, so many gluten free options, organic, and seed oil free. so I definitely will be back for their dinner menu! I'm so glad there's still a business with values. They care about what they're giving their customers not just making money.
Great place for coffee in a non-chain environment, healthy food, great service, beautiful space, comfortable seating. Food is always perfect, fresh, healthy and delicious.

Ummm obsessed with this place!! Beyond their transparency and care for sustainability, the food is AMAZING quality with no BS additives or ingredients. Lots of GF and vegan options. Everything we had was delicious. Special note to the gf beef pigs in a blanket- yum!!!! All of the staff are very kind and helpful and I love the quaint atmosphere.
Okay, I get the hype now. GOODONYA is officially a new favorite. Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service was chef's kiss. Easy 10/10. We ordered the salted coffee (the caramel syrup was unreal ), the vanilla mint latte (subtle, refreshing, and smelled amazing), and the maple donut--which is an absolute must. We also had the protein scramble, the spicy chicken sandwich (an absolute banger ), and a 4 oz cup of bone broth that genuinely revived my soul. And can we talk about the service? Our waiter was incredibly attentive... and ridiculously good-looking, which definitely didn't hurt the overall experience. Safe to say I'll be back. read more
I always wanted to give this place a try, and recently I got a chance. It was a warm evening, so sitting outside was not ideal, but it worked. I think lunch might have been a better choice because the sun would not have been shining directly in our faces. Not much that the owners can do about that, unfortunately, and the umbrellas needed some securing as the breeze kept turning them away. The food is good, including some unique choices. I enjoyed my elk burger, which was different for me, but didn't care for the gluten-free bun. It was too crumbly and seemed more like a cornbread mix, although it is house made which is great. I would recommend that they tweak the recipe for those of us who avoid wheat. The service was really good, and I will definitely come back! Brunch on the front patio might be a great choice. read more

Nutritious and delicious! Healthy and tastes so so good Grass-fed meat Eating here means a clean meal, good proteins, and micronutrient dense food. The bone broth is a must with whatever meal you get. Their California burrito is a popular favorite. Its packed with healthy veggies, grass fed meat, cooked with love. The cafe is a popular social spot with outdoor seating right on the 101. It's quintessential Encintas. read more

Love this spot so much! All organic, grass fed and finished meats, well put together meals and friendly service all wrapped up in one. My partner and I both enjoyed our meals completely. I ordered the fried egg plate which comes with arugula, tomato and sweet potato hash. The flavor was just perfect! I didn't even need a sauce! I also picked up the bone broth with cilantro, turmeric and green onion added and that was so flavorful and delicious! My partner ordered the protein scramble which comes with pork sausage, grilled onion, mushrooms, cheddar and toast which he very much enjoyed. I had also ordered the strawberry matcha which was perfect too! Since it was raining and we had the pup we weren't allowed to sit inside, but it looked very comfy and cozy inside. The outside is always buzzing with energy too. Lots of space to sit and plenty of friendly servers around. They also have a gift shop with lots of goodies like snacks and local artist jewelry and cards. They even sell a couple cute plants on the wall. Definitely check out this place. Super cute and healthy, right up your alley I bet! read more

Glad I got to finally try this spot! Parking was a bit of a struggle to find on a Friday night but not too bad. Now onto the food! Elk cheeseburger: 5/10 I was so excited to try it but the meat was dry and had no seasoning at all. The bun was extremely dry and crumbly. The only thing saving this burger was the thin slice of cheese and small amount of sauce on it. It was a good portion but wayyy overpriced. Smash Burger: 8/10 It was juicy and flavorful but not nearly as big for the price. Tallow fries: 6/10 They failed to meet my expectations. Tasted like regular fries. They were soft and on the soggy side. Great service, everyone was friendly but order took a long time to be ready. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this spot and wouldn't return. Great organic breakfast and lunch place. Incredibly fresh food and eggs that have deep flavor. The eggs are the star here- so fresh. Friendly and helpful staff. Menu has a nice variety. We had the vege scramble, breakfast burrito and the Baja scramble. Unfortunately they were out of chorizo for the Baja scramble and we had to substitute meats so it was just a scramble. The vege scramble was super fresh and they didn't overcook the spinach. Loved how they provided sliced avocado in the burrito! Tastes so much better than those that smash the avocado. What stands out here is the freshness of ingredients and depth of flavor for what you order. And A+ for giving sliced avocado. It's a cute location right on the 101 just a few steps away from Hansen's surf shop. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. My only criticism- it's a cashless restaurant but they didn't tell us that upfront. And, we didn't see the bill to check totals (and for hidden service charges), the waiter just shows you the total on a handheld screen. I'd prefer the screen to show the itemized bill before you ask for payment. I'll come back because the food is so fresh but just make sure you ask to see the itemized bill first! read more

I really want to love this place, but every time I go it gets worse and worse. This was the saddest tuna sandwich I've seen. Nothing like their photos of it, and go figure I got a stomach ache after. I don't know what happened, but they've lost their touch this last year. read more
This is a simple restaurant with a simple menu; it's nothing I cannot make myself at home. However, it was nice to visit while catching up with a friend. I ordered the Fried egg plate; the eggs were a perfect over-easy and I wasn't sure what "sweet potato hash" would look like, but I wasn't at all impressed (see photo). Everything was clean and fresh though. We dined on the patio, which was lovely. There's plenty of seating indoor and out, and the tables are spaced nicely apart. People-watching and seeing the city slowly wake up would have been awesome except for the high number of homeless wandering about. We came on a not-busy Tuesday morning, and service was not rushed. I would probably come back if friends want to visit but I would much rather go to Peace Pies for lunch to be honest. Pros: - walkable location - fresh ingredients, small menu - lunch available all day - Cons: - parking sucks (go to the transit center) - a bit pricey read more
Happy new year! If you're looking for a spot to keep up with your healthy eating resolutions, Goodonya has plenty of delicious and nourishing options. Their Thai salad was delicious, and the dressing they rave about really is THAT good. If your resolutions are around budgeting, then maybe make this an occasional treat as it's not cheap. I made a Yelp account just to rank them and this'll likely be the only ranking I'll ever do because frankly I've never had such poor service. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I realize so many reviews are highly emotional and sensationalized reactions, but this is not one of those reviews. I waited 40 minutes and after that they gave me a refund without any food or any other sort of compensation for waiting (see the "VOIDED" on the screenshot of my receipt) after not starting my order at all because their kitchen is "a disaster" (their words, not mine). Do you really want to eat somewhere where their own staff says this about the kitchen? I love the mission but the service is unacceptable. Support any other local business and avoid. EDIT: Kyle, the owner, replied to my comment to apologize, then quickly deleted his response, likely realizing how bad it looked to agree with my comment. I just want anyone deciding where to spend their hard-earned money to consider this: cooking your own meals lets you enjoy food free from the toxins and questionable ingredients found in virtually every restaurant... including, it seems, theirs. read more
