My friends and I came here for lunch and I had The American sandwich, which also comes with a deconstructed Caesar salad and it was ok. Service was good and the employees were friendly.

This was a cute little coffee shop with a nice ambiance. overall it was calm and pleasant, and it felt like an easy place to stop by for something light. The food was okay overall. We tried the acai bowl, and that was actually good. Nothing felt overly memorable, but it was still a nice option if you're looking for a quick bite or something refreshing with your coffee.

Stopped by for breakfast with my bestie on a beautiful Sunday. Although a pretty full restaurant at 930am, we were able to find parking in their small parking lot, beat the line and find seats. It got busier as the morning went on. Ordered the Organic Açaí Bowl, about $17, an Iced Lofty Style Nola, $7+, Egg Quiche and donut, while my friend got one of their lattes, hot. I loved the Açaí bowl. It was filling, came with a lot of fresh and ripe fruit, and had a lot of yummy different textures from the granola, nibs, coconut and seeds. I really enjoyed the egg quiche but wish they offered to warm it up; it would've been perfect. My latte was okay in taste but did wake me up. The green donut was delicious and pretty looking but the whole thing would've been too sweet for me; I'm glad we shared it. Her hot latte had a cute design on top This place is perfect when the weather is nice, since it's mainly outside. No complaints about the service.

A solid café for a fresh, well-executed breakfast. Ingredients tasted high quality across the board, and the açaí bowl was a standout--beautifully balanced with generous, thoughtfully layered toppings. A spot that delivers and is definitely worth the stop.

Iced Salted Caramel Latte, $7! Nov 8, 2025

3-4 stars. It was busy on a Saturday afternoon! The line wasn't that long as it looked to be from outside as there were only maybe 3 people ahead of me. Although all the tables were taken up & even the seating that faced the road. They had heaters on as well that you could feel as you stood in line or waited for your name to be called out. I looked at the menu from above and I believe I read that the Iced Salted Caramel Latte was $7.50, but when I went to pay it was only $7! (I handed her $8 because I swore I saw $7.50 on the screen lol). It looked like the cup was 16 oz or larger, unsure because she didn't ask -- so maybe they only have one size. When I'm nervous or at a new spot, I forget to ask all these basic questions. I read that it's house made caramel with fleur de sel. I think they should add more fleur de sel because it was lacking the salty aspect, but the caramel was delicious. As a whole, I think the latte had too much milk because the espresso was very much lost. It just tasted like caramel milk. It wasn't balanced as my friend mentioned it was (he got the same drink, at their Little Italy location I believe?). However, price was nice for the size of the drink. Would I come back? Maybe on a cold day since they have those heaters! I'm a huge fan of salted caramel and this one missed the mark. I'd give them another try when they have new seasonal specials. Also, they do have a big menu for food choices which is nice. I did see people enjoying toasts and açaí bowls. Great place for bicyclists, families, people with doggos, solo, dates, etc! Come & check them out, they are just two lights away from the beach as well.

Cute coffee shop on Cedros. It is a popular place so it's not great for large groups. Very nice servers and items get to you quickly. The acai bowl ($17) is perfection and definitely big enough to share with two people. Tons of fresh fruit, acai scoops and peanut butter underneath. A must on a hot day!

This is genuinely the hugest latte I've ever gotten. It was 20 oz (the only size) for $6. They have a cute outdoor space with shade. It was a very serviceable latte but also not particularly memorable. Some of their other drinks are on the pricier side, but this is an otherwise fine spot to pick up a coffee before hitting the beach!

I wish I would have tried Lofty sooner. I've seen it in Little Italy for a long time and it had a good look, and yeah it's pretty bomb. Good portions. Everything is fresh and well prepared. Quick friendly service. Great indoor outdoor spaces. Decent enough parking. Not too loud. Enough space. Heck, you might even be able to work if you need to. Various options. A little spendy but worth it.

Some of the best coffee in the San Diego area!!! We were staying in Solana Beach for a vacation and loved walking up here for lattes. We even got their beans a few times to keep in our Airbnb, and they were gracious enough to grind them for us. Highly recommend Lofty!

Relaxing spot to sip on your coffee while catching up with friends. The service was good, orders came out quick. The parking lot is small but glad that they do have a parking lot. There is street parking. My favorite is the Iced Salted Caramel Latte. The coffee was strong with a little sweetness to it. If you're in the area please stop by, you will it be disappointed. Thank you Lofty Coffee staff for your hospitality.

Easy to find. Very busy downtown area by the beach. They do have a parking lot but half of it is taken over by the business next door. This is an outside coffee shop - order inside- sit outside. There is a lot of seating and the people working were nice. We came here because they have house made almond milk, house made syrups and they're organic. I ordered the mint matcha with cold foam and it's delicious 5/5 We also ordered The Salted Caramel latte with house made almond milk and cold foam 10/10 !!!! Heads up that they only have one size for drinks - 16oz. I highly recommend going here!

That was cool. The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable of their products. I ordered their Citrus Celery juice. For a celery juice, it was well balanced with flavors of orange, apple, grapes, and grapefruit. My fiancé ordered the beet root smoothie with the cacao chips. This was also good. A little bit on the sweet side especially for being beet based. But still very refreshing and also well balanced out with the cacao. The açaí bowl was the best I ever had. The presentation said it all. It was paired well with green apple, raspberries, bananas, walnuts, all the oats, maybe Nutella drizzle and coconut shavings with Greek yogurt. I was down for a second bowl. But it was very filling. Once again a perfect blend of everything. We also tried the avocado toast. I was happy to see that this dish came with more than just avocado and toast. They included an egg arugula, and a tomato. Nowadays, that is way more than what other cafes offer. I thought it was a good price for what you got.

The menu is a little bit different than I remember, but still focuses on fresh and healthy. The girl working at the front used to also work at the PB Location and she's very friendly and knowledgeable. She also gave us samples of the berry smoothie and the green juice to try. I went with the golden milk latte to drink, and it was fabulous. I did have them add a shot of espresso to it because when I was ordering a latte, I definitely was looking for caffeine. It's lovely with turmeric, cinnamon, oat milk, MCT oil and black pepper. I also ordered the Hot Chick salad. It came out looking gorgeous. The salad tasted really good, the chicken was seasoned nicely, and I liked the different textures with the rice, the quinoa and the roasted corn. The dressing was super tasty too. When I got towards the end of my salad, my last few pieces of avocado were bad. It wasn't a dealbreaker for my experience, but I would've definitely preferred that they would've left those pieces out. Also, the little toasted cracker things tasted like cardboard, dry and flavorless. I probably should've tried scooping up some of the salad with them, but I left them on the plate. Overall, I would definitely return to this location. You cannot beat them if you are looking for something fast, casual, and healthy. Definitely not on the cheap though, my salad and latte were $34 before tip, but I don't mind paying for good quality food that is fresh and healthy.

My favorite breakfast dishes are the chicken and waffle, country fried steak and french toasts. They perfectly bread the chicken and the homemade country gravy it adds that extra goodness to the meal. I also love their fresh-pressed juices, and I usually request a plantation iced tea -- iced tea mixed with pineapple juice. So refreshing! The decor is adorable too. It has a cozy farmhouse café vibe that makes the whole place feel warm and inviting. And the bread pudding from Sunny Side is definitely worth mentioning. I usually don't like bread pudding, but this is far from ordinary. It's made with croissants and chocolate, drizzled with chocolate sauce, dusted with powdered sugar, served with raspberries, and strawberries. You have to add the ice cream...cause why not? Absolutely indulgent and perfect for sharing. Totally worth those extra calories! Overall, we'll definitely keep dining here. This Achilles Coffee is tucked smack dab in the middle of a health-centric mall surrounded by wellness centers, nutritional experts, and yoga studios. With seating outside on both the ground level and up on the roof, it's a perfect spot to soak in some sun, breathe in the ocean air, and have a sip and a bite in this quiet part of town. The menu here is comprehensive with coffee (espresso, pour overs, cold brew), teas, specialty drinks, as well as breakfast and light bites to pair with a good start to the morning. We primarily came for a coffee run but a few of our team members decided to visit for breakfast the following day and from what I've heard, they're solid with the food! I look forward to coming back to give their bites a try. In theme for Saint Patrick's Day, they had a few special drinks but I opted for a traditional flat white this time. They had milk options but as a traditionalist, I went with whole milk. The coffee had great flavor and balance. The richness was bold and rounded out after every sip. I was tempted to grab a couple bags on my way out but seeing they had free shipping for online orders over $40 (about two bags), I decided to save some luggage space and order some when I was back home. The staff were friendly and efficient. I was impressed how many of them they were able to fit behind the small work area but they were experienced and worked collectively as a team. The drinks were prepared quick and for those liking them hot, you will be pleased with the freshness of that first sip. Overall, Achilles Coffee is a perfect small batch roaster to visit while you're in San Diego to get a great cup of coffee, a breakfast to go with it, and some bags of single origin or blend to bring back home for your own brew. And if you're interested in trying them out before you visit or just looking to restock, consider checking out their website and order from there. They even have a sampler to try their in-season batches. I guess their only Achilles' heel is that there aren't more of them but with five spots all across San Diego county, at least a San Diegan (or visitor) can get a taste of the sweet nectar marketed under this Greek warrior's moniker.

(editing to add this is a French-owned and Black-owned business, in case folks are looking!)…read more I usually come here when I'm doing errands on Cedros - and I usually just want to get my français on and order a café crème and a croissant. But today I needed a little extra je ne sais quoi because my morning was annoying, so I decided to splurge on lunch and not just a pastry here. I asked Steve, the (très beau et gentille!) co-owner what the quiche of the day was. There were two: one with jambon (ham) and one with épinards et fromage de chèvre (spinach and goat cheese). When I hesitated, he told me that the spinach one was amazing. Even though it's $20 for a quiche plate, I decided to go for it. I thought I was going to get a sad little quiche slice for that amount and might regret it. But OMG, it was more than worth it! Already they have a lovely patio on this pretty street in this fancy design district. But it was also a HUGE and exceptionally savory rectangular slice, alongside a DELECTEABLE petite salade. I asked Steve what mustard they use in the vinaigrette, and he said plain old Dijon - but the proportions and the seasoning were EXCELLENT. So it was salad perfection, not heavily dressed at all, just delightful. The patio was full on a Friday with ladies who lunch - but did that include me, as a solo diner, since I am a lady who had lunch? I'm not sure, but you can feel comfortable here no matter what. And now I know Madeleine Cafe is much too good to just come for coffee and for ordering in French from Steve or his co-owner Emmanuel. I don't want to spend that much for lunch every day - but I'll be back!
