First off, parking can be tricky but we were able to find street parking easily. As soon as we walked in, we felt peaceful. The ambiance was welcoming. The cappuccino had beautiful coffee art with a swan. My matcha tasted good. And more than anything it was colorful. The views from the patio were beautiful and we had a great time! If you are looking for good coffee, coupled with great views, this is the spot to explore!

It's sparkling clean. And, the coffee is incredible! You couldn't ask for a better place to start off your day at. The store is located right near the ocean, so you can smell the salinity in the air. The store itself is modern, sleek with lots of seating available. So, sit down and stay for a while or take one to go. They are passionate about what they do. So, get ready for a tasty treat. I got an iced decaf latte decaf and a drip coffee. My favorite was the iced decaf latte. From the first sip to the last drip. I savored every last sip of that delicious drink. It's creamy, dreamy, and delicious. With a bold perfect coffee flavor. Pure perfection! Also, I love taking home a cup of coffee for the next day. And, a pound of coffee to share. Trust me when I say that this coffee is incredible! You'll want that extra coffee. So, next time you see a Bird Rock. Stop by for a tasty treat! You won't regret it.

This would have been an average San Diego coffee shop experience for me, except for the fact that I absolutely LOVED the cherry bomb! It's a cherry mocha and essentially a perfect drink for me. Back in 2019, Starbucks had a seasonal cherry mocha for Valentine's Day that I was obsessed with. Apparently I was the only one, because they haven't brought it back since. Cherry mochas are hard to come by, and I haven't really encountered another one. This one was delicious! The espresso was bold, the milk perfectly creamy, and the overall taste not too sweet (unlike Starbucks'). Wow!! I can already tell this will be a drink I daydream about. Unfortunately it was $7.50, which will prevent me from indulging very regularly. The rest of the menu is pricey too, with avocado toasts nearly reaching $20. (I may be a millennial, but I can certainly understand the negative stereotype when I see coffee shop prices like these.) Besides pricing, the other downside of this place is the limited seating. There were only 4 small outdoor tables, so unless you're with just one other person and you arrive before 10am, I'd suggest grabbing your coffee to go and taking a walk. My friend and I sat down, since there were open tables when we arrived. She enjoyed her iced honey cinnamon latte. If you love a cherry mocha or are looking for coffee in the design district, definitely come through!

We've even enjoyed visiting the bunnies for 22$ per person (plus tip if you'd like too) gives you about 20-30 minutes of interaction with the bunnies. Came in for a coffee, accidentally enrolled in a masterclass on How Not to Order Coffee…read more I ordered a cappuccino and asked for it iced. Apparently this was a deeply offensive request, because I was immediately informed, "So really you just want a short latte," followed by a staff discussion about how people don't know how to order coffee. Then, while I was simply standing there waiting for the drink I had paid for, they started making comments about me waiting. Truly fascinating. I didn't realize there was also a correct and incorrect way to stand near a coffee counter. Eventually they wrote "cap" on my cup and called it out, so I grabbed it and said, "Thanks for my short latte." For a place serving coffee, they somehow managed to make ordering one feel like an oral exam I had failed. If you enjoy being lightly bullied by your barista over espresso terminology, this may be your spot. I personally will be getting my incorrectly named beverages elsewhere.

We each got to order a pot of tea, so we decided to order 5 different ones to try out more flavors together. The ones we picked were: -Jasmine orange oolong - Coconut milk green tea - Earl grey lavender - Vanilla cream -Strawberry rose champagne oolong tea My top two favorites were the jasmine orange oolong and the coconut milk green tea. The only flavor that none of us enjoyed was the strawberry rose champagne oolong tea, so when it came time for refills, we switched it to the rouge provence. For the food, there were four finger sandwiches: chicken breast, smoked salmon, cucumbers, and chopped spinach. We all liked the chicken breast one the most, and felt like the cucumbers and chopped spinach could have been combined into one sandwich for a more balanced flavor. For sweets, there was the seasonal scone, fruit tart, macaron, and donut. I loved the scone with the butter and fruit preserves, as well as the fruit tart. The service was polite, but a bit slow and we waited a while before our food arrived. There was only one person who was serving the entire afternoon tea area, so it's understandable that there's a longer wait. All in all, I would definitely come back for another afternoon tea experience!

The one girl I did manage to talk to was nice but a lot of the employees seemed like they'd rather be anywhere else. They have a small food menu as well but it all was overpriced, I understand it's a beach town but still. I ordered their Kyoto inspired latte (cold brew as I'm corrected) and found it fell flat. There was almost no taste to it, it tasted like extremely watered down coffee. I had to stop one of their employees and ask where the restroom was, only to be told it was "around the side thing". I had higher expectations as it came highly recommended. Edit: Hi Alex, you replied to a review below mine about a Kyoto cold brew so I'm not sure where the confusion is. Perhaps my wording was incorrect but it was indeed labeled as Kyoto. Comparable pricing does not mean something can't still be overpriced. I find your reply incredibly dismissive.
