Cute spot on Cedros in Solana Beach, with surprisingly easy street parking for a Saturday morning in June. This would have been an average San Diego coffee shop experience for me, except for the fact that I absolutely LOVED the cherry bomb! It's a cherry mocha and essentially a perfect drink for me. Back in 2019, Starbucks had a seasonal cherry mocha for Valentine's Day that I was obsessed with. Apparently I was the only one, because they haven't brought it back since. Cherry mochas are hard to come by, and I haven't really encountered another one. This one was delicious! The espresso was bold, the milk perfectly creamy, and the overall taste not too sweet (unlike Starbucks'). Wow!! I can already tell this will be a drink I daydream about. Unfortunately it was $7.50, which will prevent me from indulging very regularly. The rest of the menu is pricey too, with avocado toasts nearly reaching $20. (I may be a millennial, but I can certainly understand the negative stereotype when I see coffee shop prices like these.) Besides pricing, the other downside of this place is the limited seating. There were only 4 small outdoor tables, so unless you're with just one other person and you arrive before 10am, I'd suggest grabbing your coffee to go and taking a walk. My friend and I sat down, since there were open tables when we arrived. She enjoyed her iced honey cinnamon latte. The week before, I ordered the $7.25 Iced Blood Orange Basil Latte (seasonal special). I was eager to try it because I do enjoy citrus notes with my coffee. But this one lacked the flavors I was hoping to taste. It was all too subtle for me. I wouldn't order it again, but it was nice to try. 4-5 stars! Overall, I've enjoyed my many visits to 7 Seas Roasting & been here through many changes. I do think the coffee drinks are pretty solid and would recommend checking out their seasonal specials when they have them. My top favorites would be: dark mocha raspberry, banana split latte, and the thin mint latte. If you ever see these on the menu, I highly recommend trying them! To address the entitled review that gave Seven Seas a 2 Star, I find it super difficult to give this place anything but 5 Stars. The people behind the counter we eloquent and efficient along with being kind and patient. My wife was pretty indecisive and they worked with us till she finally knew what she wanted. The food was delicious, we got the Lox Bagel and the Dirty Avocado toast. I'll admit it's very difficult to mess those two meals up, they elevated both of them. The whole reason we went though was for coffee and we were FAR from disappointed. We got the Blood Orange Basil Latte and the Blackberry Vanilla Latte and both tasted perfect, each sip of the Blood Orange Basil had a nice scent of basil with the leaf in there. You really can't go wrong here, the tables outside gave you a nice area to sit relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. A+ 10/10 no notes, excepts for the positive ones above. The customer service for one is terrible when you walk in no one acknowledges you or even looks up at you, to the point you almost feel like your an inconvenience no one smiles or is pleasant it's really off putting. The coffee itself is average on the 4 occasions I have been two times the coffee was super bitter and the other two times I got super expensive Macha and was barely warm at best. I love to support small local places but they make it so hard for o support them when they leave with a less than welcome experience. Cute little place I found! They don't have a parking lot so it's street parking or you can park at the target parking and walk across. They have plenty of tables and chairs and even a nice bar open window seats. I ordered a regular hot latte with whole milk and my boyfriend ordered their winter seasonal drink hot toasted marshmallow with oat milk. We didn't wait long for our drinks. It came pretty fast. We were there on a Friday afternoon and there was a decent line. My drink was really good creamy and still has the taste of dark coffee. They offer cozy seating outside for you to simply sit and sip your drinks while catching up with friends or family, to people watch, to meet new people (yes, we chatted with fellow coffee lovers) or to sit silently on your electronic device.
