To address the entitled review that gave Seven Seas a 2 Star, I find it super difficult to give this place anything but 5 Stars. The people behind the counter we eloquent and efficient along with being kind and patient. My wife was pretty indecisive and they worked with us till she finally knew what she wanted. The food was delicious, we got the Lox Bagel and the Dirty Avocado toast. I'll admit it's very difficult to mess those two meals up, they elevated both of them. The whole reason we went though was for coffee and we were FAR from disappointed. We got the Blood Orange Basil Latte and the Blackberry Vanilla Latte and both tasted perfect, each sip of the Blood Orange Basil had a nice scent of basil with the leaf in there. You really can't go wrong here, the tables outside gave you a nice area to sit relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. A+ 10/10 no notes, excepts for the positive ones above. Iced Honey Lavender Latte now costs $7.50 ;( The barista did accommodate me when I asked for half sweet, and it was made very well. The drink itself is delicious, but not sure if I would come every week for this price (personally). Maybe just once in a while! The interior space got revamped so that the workers have more wiggle room, that was cool to see. I didn't see much else that changed though-- oh besides that and the prices. The week before, I ordered the $7.25 Iced Blood Orange Basil Latte (seasonal special). I was eager to try it because I do enjoy citrus notes with my coffee. But this one lacked the flavors I was hoping to taste. It was all too subtle for me. I wouldn't order it again, but it was nice to try. 4-5 stars! Overall, I've enjoyed my many visits to 7 Seas Roasting & been here through many changes. I do think the coffee drinks are pretty solid and would recommend checking out their seasonal specials when they have them. My top favorites would be: dark mocha raspberry, banana split latte, and the thin mint latte. If you ever see these on the menu, I highly recommend trying them! Rich, bold, and insanely good. This Seven Seas Roasting is located in the art district of Solana Beach, which is a prime location for enjoying the coast with shopping & good eats. Best coffee shop in Solana Beach. I've been going there almost daily for 2 years, and the place keeps earning it. Big credit to Amber, Andrew, and Maria. Small coffee shop with great coffee and real personality, basically what I'm looking for in a coffee shop. The whole team makes it feel super welcoming without performing. Food is also great, I just had an avocado toast earlier today and it was delicious. Regulars are the other thing. You end up making friends over coffee, and that's not something you can manufacture. First off, they had a seasonal winter menu with a variety of different drinks that all sounded so good. They had one inspired by the Samoa girl scout cookie that I will definitely be back to try. I was immediately sold on the Cherry Bomb latte on their main menu though. I love a chocolate fruit combo, especially in a latte and this one did not disappoint. The cherry flavor was subtle but present and the mocha was not too sweet at all! It had a lot going on but the coffee flavor was still able to shine through, 10/10. Looove this coffee shop! Bf and I were around the arts district and I just needed a simple iced matcha latte. Other places in the area had flavors I didn't want or there was just no matcha on the menu so I stumbled into Seven Seas and was diggin' the vibe of the place. I loved the winter menu options but a simple matcha was calling my name. I ordered an iced matcha with honey ($6.50) with almond milk ($1.00). It was creamy and delicious with a perfect balance between the matcha flavor, honey and milk. None of them too overbearing. Luckily enough, we were asked if we wanted a free brown sugar rosemary hot latte since the order was wrong for another customer and it was made with almond milk. We happily accepted it esp since my bf didn't feel like ordering anything and ended up with a free drink. He wasn't fond of the rosemary taste and said he could really taste the herb. I tried it and it tasted totally fine to me. I tasted more espresso but could still taste the herb-y essence. If you handed this drink to me and didn't tell me what was in it, I wouldn't be able to tell it was rosemary. We don't live in this area but I love me a good quality coffee shop! We saw this coffee and ice cream shop as we were walking around Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach and we decided to check it out.....it had a nice and open layout and the curb appeal, was very inviting. Inside we got to talk to the lady behind the counter and she gave us a nice history of the brand, which has several locations around San Diego and this one in Solana Beach had only been open since the summer of 2023. She mentioned to us that the American coffee revolution has been dark and bitter-strong. But Seven Seas Roasting Company decided instead to focus on the flavors of Southeast Asian coffee....lighter...... In 2017, Seven Seas became the first American company to import specialty coffees from Laos. The coffee shop offers medium and dark roasts but they really focus on exposing people to the lighter varietals. I am not a coffee drinker, but my husband and friends are. I focused my attention on their interesting ice cream flavor varieties like Chai and some of their specialty chocolate ones. read more
