Super cute little bakery right off of cedros in Solana beach. They have an excellent selection of pastries and some pretty good coffee! This place is relatively new, pretty nicely decorated and the service is on point.

Lovely staff and even lovelier macarons! The lavender honey one was especially delicious.

La Petite Bakery is an absolute gem!!!! The owner is incredibly sweet and welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel warm and personal from the moment you walk in. Every pastry is top tier and literally melts in your mouth. Each bite feels like a little surprise with layers of flavor and perfect texture. You can tell everything is made with care and attention to detail. If you love pastries, this place is a must visit. Truly a 10/10 experience every time.

It flaked beautifully and was buttery. I was surprised to hear it was $6.50 because it's the same price I paid for a specialty latte here. I would have expected a croissant (chocolate or plain) to be in the $4.25-$5.50/$5.75 range. I guess everything in Sky Deck is a little more expensive than what you'd expect-- maybe because of the cost they have to pay to rent the space. The workers were kind to give me space and time to check over the menu. Like I mentioned last time, the font is a bit small. It would be nice to have printed & laminated menus at the counter space as well for people. I think next time I come I would love to order a crêpe-- the sucre au citron caught my eye because it's a classic! I was surprised to see that they didn't offer salted caramel crêpe though. That would be so delicious as a "fall special" ... it would be great with banana or pear or even apple! They have a lot of other choices for pastries, desserts, and food! Since it's located in Sky Deck they have an abundance of seating available right in front of the shop as well as outside and down below near other businesses.

I decided to have brunch there but when I arrived everyone was watching a soccer game...rooting for the French Team. It was pleasant to see the owners, staff, and guests so into the game. I looove eating outdoors so the setting was perrrfect. When it was time to order, I went inside to place it at the counter. (editing to add this is a French-owned and Black-owned business, in case folks are looking!)…read more I usually come here when I'm doing errands on Cedros - and I usually just want to get my français on and order a café crème and a croissant. But today I needed a little extra je ne sais quoi because my morning was annoying, so I decided to splurge on lunch and not just a pastry here. I asked Steve, the (très beau et gentille!) co-owner what the quiche of the day was. There were two: one with jambon (ham) and one with épinards et fromage de chèvre (spinach and goat cheese). When I hesitated, he told me that the spinach one was amazing. Even though it's $20 for a quiche plate, I decided to go for it. I thought I was going to get a sad little quiche slice for that amount and might regret it. But OMG, it was more than worth it! Already they have a lovely patio on this pretty street in this fancy design district. But it was also a HUGE and exceptionally savory rectangular slice, alongside a DELECTEABLE petite salade. I asked Steve what mustard they use in the vinaigrette, and he said plain old Dijon - but the proportions and the seasoning were EXCELLENT. So it was salad perfection, not heavily dressed at all, just delightful. The patio was full on a Friday with ladies who lunch - but did that include me, as a solo diner, since I am a lady who had lunch? I'm not sure, but you can feel comfortable here no matter what. And now I know Madeleine Cafe is much too good to just come for coffee and for ordering in French from Steve or his co-owner Emmanuel. I don't want to spend that much for lunch every day - but I'll be back!

My pickup experience was mind blowing. I was over 30 minutes away, marked that I was on the way, what kind of car I was in, and literally the second I pulled in, a customer service agent knocked on my window with my bag. Customer service 10/10, surveillance, 10/10 XD The parking lot is stressful and lots of people were hogging the pickup spots because they felt a lot more important than everyone else I guess. Parking is crazy, but the parking lot and storefront are clean. Keep up the great work fine people. I'll be back next time my espresso packets run out. We are regular customers at the Whole Foods pizza counter and order pizza for our family there…read moreoften, usually one or two whole pizzas at a time. Unfortunately, it is consistently a very slow experience, even when there are only a few customers ahead of us. Despite having a very large pizza oven capable of cooking multiple pizzas at once, pizzas are routinely cooked one at a time, which often results in 30+ minute wait times. Today's experience was especially disappointing. The store had run out of pizza boxes, so our pizza was placed into a cake box that was too small to fit it properly. The employee cut the pizza and stacked half the slices on top of the other half, causing the pizza to become messy and smashed together. She handled the slices directly with her hands instead of using a spatula, and several pepperoni pieces fell off in the process. In addition, the employee placed two different stickers on the box -- one appearing to indicate a single pizza and another appearing to indicate two pizzas -- which could have easily resulted in us being charged incorrectly. When I politely asked whether we could receive a discount because of the condition of the pizza and the inconvenience, I was initially told very rudely that there would be no discount and that the register would not help either. I was then asked, with obvious attitude, whether I wanted the pizza remade, which would "take another 10 minutes." I simply asked for the missing pepperoni pieces to be placed back on the pizza. The manager ultimately did provide a 50% discount, which we appreciated. However, even the manager acknowledged the pizza had been handled improperly and wanted to take a picture because she was surprised by how it had been packaged. Despite that, the response still felt dismissive, including being told the discount would only be done "this one time," as though the issue had not clearly been caused by the store's handling of the order. We understand mistakes happen, including running out of boxes, but customer service, food handling, and basic professionalism still matter -- especially for repeat customers who spend a significant amount there regularly.
