Lil Jungle Java is exactly the kind of local coffee shop I love finding. It's quick, cute, reasonably priced, and has a fun, welcoming vibe that makes you want to come back. Whether you're grabbing coffee on the way to work or looking for a new favorite spot, this place is definitely worth the stop. I tried the Banana Bread Iced Latte and the Blueberry Pancake Iced Latte, and both were fantastic. They're unique without being over-the-top, perfectly balanced, and somehow taste exactly like their names in the best way possible. It's always fun finding a coffee shop that's willing to get creative. The highlight of my visit was Savannah. She made my first experience incredibly easy, welcoming, and enjoyable. Decided to give this place another go, and I'm happy I did. The experience was much better than my last visit here and the drink was 100 percent better as well. I got the banana bread latte at the recommendation of the barista and it was really yummy and it was a good price 5.90 for an iced large drink. The drink is made with banana syrup, brown sugar syrup 3 shots and whole milk, the banana was pretty strong but it worked well with the brown sugar. I've been a big fan of LJJ since it opened many years ago. It's great to support a locally independent small business as fantastic as LJJ and owner, Tatiana, aka Tiana or T. T and the girls are simply the best from their friendly and personal service to the amazing tasting organic drinks and bites. I love that I can get organic decaf coffee. The sweet girls are on it! They know my name and drink as soon as I walk or drive up. You feel so special! They sell nice merchandise too. Dog friendly place! It's my dog's go-to favorite spot for a snack and pets! She's excitably bonkers whenever we're anywhere in the vicinity!! The hubby and our other dog are also regular customers for good reason. Walk-up or drive-thru, Bonus! I stopped by Lil Jungle Java today after having a really rough morning, and I'm so glad I did. I don't usually go out much, but I needed a little pick-me-up, and this place truly lifted my spirits. The woman working there was SO kind, she took the time to walk me through the whole menu and even brought out all the pastries to explain each one to me. Her patience and warmth made me feel so welcome. There's not seating, but they do have a walk up window for those without cars. It wasn't just about the coffee (which was delicious, by the way)... it was the genuine kindness that turned my whole day around. You can tell they really care about their customers here. I left feeling lighter and happier than when I walked in. rhis is a reminder to myself that I need to specify it when I want a blended drink. Under the blended options, they list a flavored cappuccino, and so I just read that off without actually specifying that I would like it blended. And I've done it twice now. But I don't like to say anything when the order is wrong because it's my own fault (sort of like when you go to a foreign country and order something incorrectly!) I really like their drinks so I just keep on coming back. :) they're also very nice there. read more

I've been here a few times rain or shine and I'm happy with everything I've tried. They have a full coffee bar with a variety of sweeteners, syrups, sugar free options, and non-dairy alternatives. The coffee shop itself is quaint and simple. The service is very fast and the workers are always so sweet! I love that there's a local business with a drive thru, super convenient. It's always a bit weird to rate drive-through coffee shops. Somehow, I think there is an unspoken strike against them. So I tried to go by Lil' Jungle Java with an open mind. And there's a fair amount to like. The service is pretty fast and very polite, the prices are considerably lower than a walk-in café, and it does have the convenience of being a drive-through. That all said, the coffee was pedestrian. The flavor was OK and the espresso drink I ordered was competently prepared. But unless I was in the real hurry, I just don't think I could see myself regularly going here. LJJ has a pleasant vibe and serves standard brew. If that's your thing, by all means go. But it's nothing special and I'd rather pay a bit more for a better cuppa. read more

Amazing experience getting a drink at jungle Java! The girls there are so kind and always so helpful with any questions you might have. The establishment itself is adorable and decorated really cute following suit with its 'jungle' theme . I ordered an iced caramel latte, as well as an iced chai latte, both were super rich in flavor and well made. Savannah and Sam were the ones that helped me at the window, and both did such an amazing job! Love love love lil jungle Java! A unique drive-thru only coffee shop close to my house. I've only ever ordered iced coffee but they have a fairly extensive menu. My favorite thing about their iced coffee?? The iced coffee ice cubes!!! That's right, the ice is made out of coffee, so when it melts, it doesn't get watered down- genius! I usually order a cold brew but I was feeling adventurous this day and ordered a seasonal drink. I appreciated that the staff informed me of the amount of espresso shots in the drink, they explained it was due to the sweetness of the drink and asked if I'd like some of those shots to be decaf. The staff seemed just like chill people doing their job with integrity which I very much appreciate. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area! read more

I was a contractor and got burned out on collecting. Well the back breaking work to. Then I got into this small coffeee business and guess what?? Everyone is nice & friendly. Such a difference. This would have been an average San Diego coffee shop experience for me, except for the fact that I absolutely LOVED the cherry bomb! It's a cherry mocha and essentially a perfect drink for me. Back in 2019, Starbucks had a seasonal cherry mocha for Valentine's Day that I was obsessed with. Apparently I was the only one, because they haven't brought it back since. Cherry mochas are hard to come by, and I haven't really encountered another one. This one was delicious! The espresso was bold, the milk perfectly creamy, and the overall taste not too sweet (unlike Starbucks'). Wow!! I can already tell this will be a drink I daydream about. Unfortunately it was $7.50, which will prevent me from indulging very regularly. The rest of the menu is pricey too, with avocado toasts nearly reaching $20. (I may be a millennial, but I can certainly understand the negative stereotype when I see coffee shop prices like these.) Besides pricing, the other downside of this place is the limited seating. There were only 4 small outdoor tables, so unless you're with just one other person and you arrive before 10am, I'd suggest grabbing your coffee to go and taking a walk. My friend and I sat down, since there were open tables when we arrived. She enjoyed her iced honey cinnamon latte. If you love a cherry mocha or are looking for coffee in the design district, definitely come through!

What an amazing hometown gem. I have been a customer for more than 20 years. T, the owner, worked with me to create a delicious low carb, low sugar dirty chai that I don't feel guilty drinking every day. I went to UCSD, I'm always a fan of small mom and pop coffee shops and return here on the red Helping run starbucks out of business is on my bucket list. I especially love the drive up coffee shacks. It reminds me of my brief stint in Washington state. This shack is particularly popular when I drove by around 1030 on a weekend. I love that they do have 2 lanes on each side of the shack to alleviate traffic. read more

I do, and it was AMAZING. At first sip, my reaction was "whoa" and my son commented to my fam that night, "mommy got a REALLY good cup of coffee today. I think that was her favorite part of today." :) I hosted a breakfast two days later where I served their Coffee Snob via French press and Michael was right. It was so smooth and delicious. With an array of creamers offered, most everyone enjoyed it black. I've also brewed it with a single pour over since then, and it's just as good. I reported my appreciation to the the truck last weekend and asked for another recommendation to try, and had a hot lemon loaf flat white and it too was amazing. It's something I would never even think or know how to make, so it truly was a treat. I spend a lot of my time after work in the car and I know I'm not alone. IYKYK.
