Better Buzz has become one of my favorite breakfast spots! This visit I ordered both the Feta Avocado Toast and the Feta Avocado Deluxe, and they were absolutely delicious. The avocado was fresh and creamy, the thick-cut multigrain toast had the perfect crunch, and the feta paired perfectly with the sweet cherry tomatoes. The Deluxe was my favorite with the fresh microgreens, balsamic reduction, and squeeze of lemon it took the avocado toast to the next level! Everything tasted incredibly fresh, the portions were generous, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. I had never been to Encinitas and it sure was an experience. For a weekday, there was plenty of traffic and parking was a bit hard to find. It took me about 20 minutes to move just a few feet, but was thankful to find a parking spot around the corner of Better Buzz. This location is one of the bigger ones I've been to as there were plenty of tables and chairs for their customers. But... for such a "large" location, there was only 1 unisex restroom so one may have to wait just a bit. Once I received my order, there were no napkins anywhere, and no bag was provided with my order (so grabbing my coffee, sandwich, (if there were napkins) and other items would have been "fun" walking back to the car). Overall, I am still not sold on coffee from Better Buzz, but I did enjoy the Better Breakfast Sandwich. A few of my coworkers had raved about coffee from Better Buzz, but after a second visit (different locations), I still prefer to grab my coffee somewhere else. A friend and I stopped in for a coffee while cruising around the area. It was my first time in so I asked the baristas opinion on the hazelnut divinity which she highly recommended as being her favorite drink. My friend ordered an iced caramel latte and we took our drinks to the front window/counter area. I love how the front of the store opens up so it's an inside/outside situation. Usually I have good things to say about Better Buzz, but today was disheartening. I ordered two coffees (name blurred, I give my daughter my coffee points) but any way, coffee was ok, I asked for a lil more half n half and the girl behind the counter was bothered. But that's not even what got to me. Homeless lady just wanted to rest, have some water and be on her way. She was nice and neat with her appearance and super polite. We even offered to get her a cup of coffee and she declined. But the staff was so pushy w her, rude, and we were not yet finished either. I understand it was close to closing time, it was 7:50, but a little human compassion and politeness goes a long way with paying customers and those that just need a rest, she wasn't pandhandling or asking for anything. I wanted to get some yummy coffee, and the place looked inviting with large windows, but unfortunately it fell very short of my expectations. The guy who was helping me was less than enthusiastic to be there, and it showed. The coffee -- an Americano with coconut milk -- was okay, but not a good Americano by any means. My friend ordered the iced mint latte, and I didn't taste an ounce of mint in it. The coconut milk had no surcharge, but other non-dairy milks do. I believe it's a local coffee shop, but it felt more like a gimmick to me than anything else. It's a very busy place and aesthetically looks cool, with lots of natural light, but my coffee didn't meet the vibe of the place. Also, unfortunately, the place didn't have any vegan pastry options. I ordered from better Buzz through Uber Eats. It was very convenient and efficient. I was looking forward to trying theiir seasonal Peppermint Matcha. So, I ordered this drink with light ice and whipped cream. For the sweetness, I chose three quater sweetness. The drink was refreshing. There was a balance between the matcha and the crisp mint. I also ordered Chocolate peppermint cookie, Cranberry orange rosemary scone and Kouign Amann. The chocolate peppermint was fresh and flavorful. Kouign Amann was buttery, flaky, rich and caramelized. The scone had unique and fragrant flavor. I enjoyed the drink and the pastries. Next time, I will go in person to get the whole experience of the coffee shop. read more

Some street parking. Located on the main drag in Encinitas. Plenty of seats inside to work or people watch. The breakfast sandwiches are decent and lunch sandwich's are super mid. The coffee is good. Food and coffee is ok, but what makes this place fantastic is the friendly staff. The staff make this place welcoming and fun. Not sure I would go out of my way to come here if it wasn't for the friendly staff. Will be back to get some work done and people watch. read more

When I have errand in Encinitas this is one of the 3 spots I go when I want coffee. This is one. Parking can be a bit of a pain depended on when you go. I got lucky with a spot out front. I was craving a best drink ever and I saw that they had a coconut version, so I opted for that. The man who helped me was nice and when I went to pay he warned me that the scanner (for rewards) was a bit tricky. I had luckily learned that in my last visit. I didn't wait very long before my name was called and I grabbed my drink. It was smooth and creamy and a bit sweet, but it hit the spot. I think next time I'd order it less sweet though. read more

Encinitas Better Buzz for over 10 years has been my go-to for avocado toast and coffee. Lately I wonder if ownership or management has changed as it has declined in food quality and counter service. I ordered my usual meal 'to eat there' ie a tray for the toast and a mug for the coffee. Both items showed up on the counter in 'to go' plastic, my coffee was warm and the avocado toast was cold. I asked for a mug and tray and was met with indifference from the staff who were more interested in their personal conversations. The whole place just had a low energy vibe and I will not rush back when there are many more enticing options right there. read more

Favorite coffee in SD so far!! Went to SD for July 4th weekend and my friend brought us here. The "best drink ever" caught my eye but Americano scared me cause I love a coffee taste, but I do need a sweeter kick to it. The barista recommended the Coconut best drink ever and it was AMAZING!! I got it twice in the trip. I loved the coconut flakes My friends got the horchata latte, not good honestly. Wouldn't recommend, it was like flavored water. It's been a minute since I've come to this location. I usually avoid it because parking on the 101 can be tricky and this Better Buzz is always packed, but fortunately we got front row parking. They had their seasonal fall drinks like their maple matcha and maple best drink. I was so tempted by getting a maple matcha but settled for their regular matcha. My sister ordered the maple best drink and it was delicious. I hope they keep it around through November! read more

A friend brought us to Better Buzz after we ate lunch nearby. Their handcrafted drinks can be made half sweet, but it was still a little too sweet for me & hubby. But I see the appeal and their coffee taste is good & prices are reasonable for the size you get! Small tables scattered on the side of their space + communal long tables around. One unisex bathroom (code needed) is fairly clean & their service is quick. They also have the cutest free stickers with their logo "Life's better Buzzed" or a bee! Might have to try to find a closer location to home to try any other drinks, but overall a solid coffee shop. Came here last week and i thought my drink was good. It was just a vanilla latte with almond milk and the chocolate covered espresso beans! I asked if it could be a bit more like a frappe and it was super watery instead.... All good it still tasted fine. Came again today and they were extra BUSY! The little fair was going on so they had a lot of people. We ordered a coconut matcha and they gave us a super milky regular matca... not at all what we asked. So i knocked a star for that. Better Buzz is my absolute favorite coffee shop, and this is my favorite location. When I first started coming here, the Hazelnut Divinity was my go to order. I liked how sweet it was, but now I prefer getting it half sweet. The signature drink is the Best Drink Ever. It is an Americano made with their house vanilla power, which gets mixed in with the espresso shots. It makes the drink creamier, but it still feels lighter than a latte. Over the past year, they have been rolling out a ton of different flavored cold foams. My personal favorited was a blue berry cold foam, but they had a coconut cold foam that tasted light summer. Lately I've been getting the Caramel Best Drink Ever. If it's your first time here, you can't go wrong with it. Better Buzz also has some solid food options. I like Better Breakfast Sandwich and it comes on a pretzel bun. If I am getting food, I almost always order the OG Açaí Bowl. It's great after a long run or a hot day at the beach. For the longest time, this location was the closest to me, so I would go all of the time. You do have to go inside since they don't have a drive through, but you can always order ahead! I will say, no matter how busy they are, they make their drinks and food options quickly. I really do appreciate their speed and efficiency. I've always had great quality drinks and food options. They do offer quite a bit of seating inside so it's a great place to meet friends, study, and/or work! I recently had the horchata iced latte and my husband had the iced best drink ever. Both were absolutely fantastic, with the best ratio of sweetness to coffee, without being overly sweet. Not only does this location have a welcoming and efficient team working, but they have a clean and organized location as well.
