Delicious clean taste, strong, but not bitter. Service was fast and kind, wish they wore proper uniforms or something because the girl at the counter basically had a cropped tank and I saw too much. Besides that the coffee is the best I've had in a long long time. You can tell they take flavor seriously because all my friends and families coffee I tried from here was good. Each had its own individual flavor profile and it was so smooth! Will be coming back

My wife LOVES Philz! She believes that Philz tiramisu sweet and creamy iced is one of the best coffees she has ever had. That is high praise from my Java enthusiast. I don't drink coffee because I know I'll get addicted. My parents drink 5-6 cups a day. I stick to tea which I've purchased from Philz many times. This location is usually busy being in the heart of Encinitas so the people watching is top notch. Enjoy!

First time at this location, my winter bliss flavored coffee and ham & cheese sandwich was on point. Coffee was not too sweet, just wished I could have tasted the flavor more richly. Server was prompt and courteous. It was quiet with soft music in the background. Very spacious. Seats and tables were comfortable. Restroom was clean. Thank you for putting a smile on my face today

two for now, one to go. Mint Mojito coffees.

Been my go-to coffee since 2017 and I'm glad they allowed us to do the ordering on the app and easy pick up during Covid. They're sticking true to their specialties and not giving into the trendy drinks, which I love that they do. The ambiance is chill and nice art in the corner with plenty of seating indoors and out. I love how relaxed the vibe is here. I come here to do work sometimes on my laptop and have a delicious coffee in hand. Looking forward to supporting them for years to come.

Love Philz but this location is terrible! Rude service, people that hate their job and have attitudes. Make you feel bad to ask to adjust the coffee to be a little sweeter. Most Philz ask you if your happy not tell you your order is done rudely and act mad that you ask to add some sugar (tasted like none was added and i asked for sweet and creamy) very unhappy with this location

Excellent cold brew with cream & sugar. Top tier. Highly recommend. Will return soon. Nice cups too. Great service in an amazing neighborhood

Great coffee individually brewed for each order. You need to wait for at least 10 mins to get yours done. And it's totally worth it. PhilZ started up in the Bay Area and has been a sensation since. Glad they found their spot in Encinitas. Each of the location has its local look & feel. They are also huge in supporting local economy. As Philz says- they are in "people" (and not coffee) business! Side note- Plenty of parking and seating options available.

Been coming here for years. I love their coffees. Our regular flavors are Philtered Soul and Philharmonic. We alternate between hot and iced versions of these flavors. Although I do try others from time to time, I LOVE Philharmonic!

It was one of those days where we needed an extra pick me upper, and most of the local coffee shops were closed. We decided to stop by Philz's. The baristas at the counter were very friendly. The coffee was a bit on the weaker side, but still good. We ordered the Tantalizingly Turkish from the bold and bittersweet section, but it wasn't bold at all. Tasted more like a breakfast blend. There was a hint of cardamom flavor. We also got the Iced Gingersnap. This one was actually stronger in coffee flavor. The drink was good and tasted like autumn in a cup! Not the prettiest or coziest coffee house, but it satisfied the coffee craving.

Interesting ................... Philz Coffee: hold the latte. This is a pour-over coffee restaurant. No lattes are made here. They are a true coffee shop (check out their coffee menu). On their website they have a section dedicated to sustainability and responsible sourcing, and their steps over the years for maintaining their coffee ethics. I liked the coffee I selected. Also more interesting, was that they recommended that I taste it before I left the counter. If I didn't like it, they'd adjust it for me - again interesting ............... The food selection is limited but the varieties of coffees aren't, and they'd like me to have it my way - interesting.

Came to Philz Coffee in Encinitas for the first time a few days ago. Tried their Minit Mojito which has been getting rave reviews on Yelp and YouTube. I can honestly say the reviews are spot on. Decided to go for a large creamy and sweet Mint Mojito. I enjoyed the drink so much that I took my time and savored each and every sip. It was rich and flavorful and the mint was so nice. After finishing the cup two hours later, I noticed the ample amount of mint that was at the bottom of the cup. You really get your money's worth. Today I returned and after watching videos on YouTube, I decided to order a large iced Philtered Soul (hazelnut flavor and chocolate) and had it with medium cream and sweetener in place of sugar. Another winner of a drink. Rich flavor and smooth taste. I am now a convert...goodbye Starbucks!! I have to drive a little further to get there, but it's worth it. Just make sure that if you're running short on time, place a mobile order on their app and the drink will be ready when you arrive, allowing you to skip the line to place your order in-store. It's fast and convenient. Keep up the great work Philz and thanks for a delicious cup of coffee!!

I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and a house coffee. The coffee was actually pretty good! Cream and sugar were delivered separately to finish with your preference. As for the tacos, it was okay. The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.

I ordered the two-piece French toast with a side of bacon. The portion size was just right, the French toast was delicious, and the bacon was cooked exactly the way I like it--crispy around the edges without being overdone. I have to laugh because I started eating before I remembered to take pictures...haha! I've gotten the chance to visit a few times and I'm always impressed with how they balance serious cooking with approachable flavors. Chef Andrew Bachelier (Addison, Jeune et Jolie, Campfire) brings his take on a foodie workshop that dazzles with amazing brunch food and an imaginative drinks bar. The food was phenomenal. Turkish Eggs were super flavorful and fresh. Almost like eating an herby ramen egg on crusty toast with all the fresh herbs and chili oil. The hamachi crudo was delicate and fresh. The pork chop was sumptuous with an excellent sauce. But my favorite had to be the sourdough french toast. It actually blew my mind how the outside was crispy and crackley but the inside was moist, gooey but not mushy. I heard from the waiter they soak the bread in a custard or syrup for 72 hrs to get that texture and yet the outside is crispy. Sorcery. Really enjoyed my visit to Atelier Manna!!…read more First, they are now TAKING RESERVATIONS. We didn't realize that until morning of. It's easier for them and easier for us - they can count how many people are coming & you don't have to worry about waiting an hour. Vibes are great. Food is lovely (though expensive!). My fave dish was the amazing summer porridge. Sure it's $32 for the dish - but this is a Michelin-quality place (Bib Gourmand, not a star) so not for every day and it was delicious. Basically like a risotto, ate every grain. Check out the gorgeous pic! People are high on the Turkish eggs - but I thought they were meh, and tiny for $23. Not one of the best values here, IMHO. We wanted to try the vaunted French toast, but they had run out by the time of our reservation. On the recommendation of our server & my friend Jiansen in his review here, we also ordered the Pistachio Bread Pudding. It was beautiful, tasty, light and photo worthy! And also on Jiansen's rec, I tried the jasper, which was like a cold coffee mocktail on the rocks (steady state coffee. cherry. chaga. vanilla. rose vinegar. lemon). Tasty and interesting! We really liked the vibes too. They take reservations for 1:30 pm, though they're closing technically at 2. The manager (whose name I am forgetting - but he is from Philly and super nice!) told us "they don't close" and we could sit and enjoy & not be in their way while they closed up, but a few of the other staff members seemed to be wanting us to leave. So keep that in mind if you get one of the last reservations; lingering with a friend might be a bit challenging. But we had a great time, and I especially enjoyed the summer porridge. I'll definitely come again (and know I should make a reservation) - but it's probably better to come earlier before they run out of anything & before we're in their way while they're cleaning up! Oh - and parking can be a real challenge. Come early and check out the side streets!
