Paleo Protein Plate
Cindy L.

Met up with my girlfriend here for lunch and I got the paleo protein plate. It was delicious, but the eggs needed a little seasoning. Nothing a little salt and pepper I added in myself, couldn't fix. It was a nice meal to have after my lagree class. Everyone was really friendly and I love how bright, clean, and breezy the place was. Definitely a stop I'll be making again.

This place is so cute and cozy! I loved the suggestions I got from the cashier and everything was delicious. I think the beef there is grass fed and the pastrami sandwich was chefs kiss. I love the water selection from mountain valley to the sparkling Idaho water. They also have delicious beef sticks and use redmonds real salt. The place also has a small outdoor eating area for people to go sit at.

Raspberry Bar

An incredible cafe!! I came back and tried the Roasted Mediterranean Chicken, it was delicious and packed with flavor! I also grabbed a Raspberry Bar on the side, which paired perfectly. The staff were super welcoming and friendly! Can't wait to come back and try more!

So delicious!!

This place is so good, portions are perfect. Juices are all natural. If you are looking for a healthy alternative.

Breakfast Tacos

These Breakfast Tacos are the most pathetic thing I've even ordered at a restaurant. I've never been more offended in my life. $14 for this is insanity. The beans are straight from the can and are hard, don't get me started on the eggs, no seasoning, no texture, it reminds me of the scraps left on the pan when you actually make scrambled eggs.

California Sandwich
Jamie L.

Came at 11am on a Thursday and waited about 20-30 minutes to get a sandwich, after ordering with 3 people ahead of me. This place caters to a gf/vegan audience so it's a little costly. I've been twice and each time the food I've gotten has been filling. The California sandwich had so much chicken I could barely take a proper bite, which made for a messy experience. Last time I got a latte it wasn't anything special to note. Inside it's a little chilly with how hard the AC is blasting, and outside the seating is way too hot in the sun even with their umbrellas.

Artichoke and goat cheese quiche
Gabi A.

I ordered my quiche to go and asked it to be heated so I can eat it in the car (mom on the go) while in the pick up line. It was half warm half cold. Already not great. But the quiche itself was watery and the crust very mediocre. On top of the mid food, I told the cashier that the sign says $7 and I was charged $7.35 (not the tax). I don't care about the 35 cents but they shouldn't charge more than what it's advertised. She's like "I don't know what to tell you" then informs the manager (I presume) who proceeds to say "that's weird, I guess I'll have to change it on the sign." Girl, how about we start with charging me the correct price? I didn't say anything more because honestly 35 cents, but the staff here is the opposite of welcoming. Not sure what the hype is about this place. There are plenty of other healthy places to eat with better food and better atmosphere.

Easily one of the best kept secrets in Encinitas! Gluten free AND delicious! The food is phenomenal, the staff is friendly, hospitable and super helpful. They also have great coffee drinks and smoothies! 10/10 would highly recommend

Raw Lemon Bar / Maple Bar

Stopped in this afternoon after work. I was so excited to try this place. I only work in this area once every couple of months so even being tired, missing the turn, driving another 13 miles towards home (almost 40 miles away) I decided to turn around and go back. I honestly can't remember if I was greeted. Smile seemed almost forced. I expressed to the young lady helping me that it was my first time there and if there were any recommendations ie house specialties...no answer. Ok, I still tried to inquire and engage conversation about the drinks. No input. Ok... I ordered a summer drink (guava, Matcha, coconut cream iced latté) for the ride home and the Butter latté for tomorrow morning & a couple desserts. The summer drink just tasted like guava mixed with milk & a lot of ice. So bummed When I got home, I decided to open up the lid on the butter latte to smell and lightly sip. Tasted...better than the summer drink (Which surprised me because I love guava) but why was it only filled less than 3/4 of the way? I think I paid for a full drink. Opened the box with desserts....one of the desserts (Maple Bar) had cream on top. One would think that the best way to put it in the box would be where the cream would be on the side and not get smashed on the lid. Maybe I'm just asking for too much. But seriously y'all, I'm really not picky. I'm actually very happy with a yummy filled to top drink & un-smashed dessert. Just what I paid for. Nothing more nothing less. Either way, I wish this business all God's blessings.

Very mellow spot. Reggae playing in the background. English muffins and breads for sale on the middle table. Some intriguing baked items in the displays. Grabbed a mint chip smoothie and a powerhouse smoothie with cashew milk (made fresh in house) with peanut butter, peanut butter GF brownie and a paleo chocolate chip cookie. $32. The brownie is decent. The mint smoothie is slightly better than the powerhouse, but neither has enough prominent flavors in it for me. The powerhouse could use more peanut butter in it, tastes bland to me. Just a slight hint of banana, but even that isn't very strong in the powerhouse. Both drinks makes me wanting something else and wishing for a Smoothie King around here. The chocolate chip cookie isn't too bad. A bit dry, but not hard at least.

To start, the employees here are so sweet! There are so many seating options inside, outside, and even an additional seating area in a more quiet and secluded room. I was pleasantly surprised by how soft and flavorful the crust was! The vegan cheeses were also exceptional and the entire pizza was cooked perfectly. The tortillas that they use for the tacos are good as well. Whether you are gluten-free, vegan, trying to eat healthier, or simply accompanying a friend, Nectarine Grove has something for everyone!

I was greeted by two people behind the counter and was told to feel free to ask questions and try one of the samples they had. They also let me know that there were additional items that I could buy to take home on the shelves and in the cooler, so take my time looking around. There was so much good gf stuff! We ordered the Turkey Pesto Panini and the 'Trust Me Dude' Panini which came with a side of chips. Both were delicious but, Trust Me Dude... you're gonna want to try that one cause the name all the sudden made sense with the first bite. It was unlike any sandwich I've had before, in the best way possible! I also had the double chocolate cookie and didn't even get a picture cause I ate it so fast, it was that good! The cafe is spacious and had indoor and outdoor seating. They also had a shelf with games and a chalk board mentioning different themed events like game night and cookie decorating classes. It feels like they are not only trying to create a great restaurant, but a little community. They also take allergies very seriously so you can feel safe here. Can't wait to go back and try new things, so happy to have this new gluten free option available.

Based on the description, I expected an individual round quiche that was approximately 4 inches in diameter. Instead, I received a relatively small slice cut from a larger quiche, which was nowhere near what I would consider a 4-inch quiche. It essentially looked like a small little cake slice. They also don't display the quiche, instead they hide the quiche in the back so it just kinda feels deceptive. To make matters worse, the quiche itself was somewhat dry. For $10, I expected a 4" quiche and a better overall experience. I was genuinely excited to try this place and had high hopes, which made the experience even more disappointing. Hopefully the description can be clarified so future customers know exactly what they're ordering.

As noted by its name, this place served a fusion of Chinese and Korean cuisines. Their Encinitas location took over what used to be a roadside diner along N Coast Hwy 101. The seating capacity was less than 40 people which included a few high-top counter spots. At my last visit, I came for a late dinner before their closing time. A large menu was posted on the wall behind the service counter that listed about two dozen food offerings. The items seemed to be comfort food like pot stickers, spring rolls, fried rice, and chicken wings but flavored with unique combinations of seasonings and spices. I started my meal with the Marinated Beef Tri-Tip Skewers which came as a set of three and a Chinese mustard for dipping. The meat was very tender and well-seasoned. I also ordered the Cumin Lamb Stir Fry which the cashier said was medium spicy. After tasting a couple of bites of the noodles from the serving bowl, I agreed that the heat level was moderate, even for my palate. I thought the portion size should have been more for the price. That was my main criticism for both items, otherwise the food was solid for an Asian fusion eatery.

Luckily, we found a parking spot nearby and we were able to explore around the area. This time, we were able to walk around to see what else was located nearby. While walking down Coast Highway, we saw some large advertisements for Broad Street Doughnuts. The photos were colorful and we were in the mood to try something new. We had never heard of Broad Street Doughnuts, so we were hoping that these would be delicious. Broad Street Doughnuts is located off of PCH, in the city of Encinitas. This is their only location on the west coast. They have 3 other locations in New Jersey, so it's great that they opened up a shop out here. They share a parking lot with other businesses, so parking is relatively easy. Their doughnuts are made to order. You will not get that stale, day old taste when you take your first bite. They are fried up after you place your order and then the toppings are applied. It beats staring are doughnuts through a case and ordering what may have been sitting there for hours on end. The menu is on the wall and it's totally visual. Each combo is displayed in a vivid photo. You can select from those or from the doughnuts that are near the register. The doughnuts at the front counter are not featured on the visual menu, so you may need to ask about their toppings/combos. I got a classic rainbow sprinkled doughnuts, along with a half glazed and half chocolate sprinkled doughnut. We also ordered a cotton candy doughnut that had what looked like dried out cotton candy. Delicious!!!! These doughnuts were light and fluffy. They were warm to the touch and incredibly fresh. They are a bit smaller in size, when compared to an average size doughnut. They seem prefect in size because you could walk the calories off while exploring around Encinitas. Broad Street Doughnuts was a pleasant surprise. Sometimes the visual representation isn't always an indicator of how good the product will be. In this case, the product lived up to the visual representation. We have passed by Broad Street Doughnuts many times, and finally had an opportunity to stop by. We were pleasantly surprised with both the product and how friendly the staff were with all of the customers. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area!

There was lots of parking on the other side of the street and we were greeted by a friendly waitress. I tried the gelato. Vanilla gelato was creamy with a rich, sweet vanilla flavor. It's a solid neighborhood restaurant, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. We ordered two pizzas: a gluten-free Margherita and a regular Margherita. One thing that immediately stood out was how similar the two crusts tasted. Both had a comparable level of chewiness, which was surprising given that one was gluten-free. The gluten-free crust lacked some of the wheaty, earthy flavor you'd expect from a traditional dough, but overall I was genuinely impressed by its texture and quality. It's one of the better gluten-free pizza crusts I've had. The pizzas are Neapolitan-style and generally enjoyable. The dough itself is well made, though I would have preferred a bit more chew and structure to take it to the next level. My biggest criticisms are the sauce and cheese. The sauce was applied too sparingly, leaving the pizza without enough moisture or cohesion to tie the different components together. More importantly, the flavor felt one-dimensional--mostly salty, without the rich tomato sweetness, depth, and complexity that make a great Neapolitan pizza memorable. But I want to be fair. Judging from the photos posted by other Yelpers, some of the pizzas shown have a good amount of pizza sauce. I need to try the food again and update my review. As for the cheese, the fresh mozzarella on the Margherita didn't quite meet expectations. The slices had a firmer texture than I typically associate with fresh mozzarella and lacked some of the soft, creamy moisture that helps create that signature melt. The flavor was also milder than expected; instead of delivering a pronounced milky richness, it tasted somewhat diluted. This may be a minor criticism, but on a simple pizza like a Margherita, where every ingredient is on display, these details become much more noticeable. Overall, Buona Forchetta serves a respectable Neapolitan-style pizza, and its gluten-free option is particularly impressive. However, the underwhelming sauce and mozzarella kept the pizzas from reaching the level I was expecting given the enthusiastic recommendations.
