Gluten Free Donuts!!!! So fucking good. Pardon my French. Love that there are so many GF options and they're made to order.
We make it a point to stop here every time we're in Encinitas, it has become our go-to donut spot! One of the main reasons we love it is that they offer gluten-free options, which can be hard to find. What really sets them apart is that the donuts are made fresh when you order them. You can literally taste the difference! They're always warm, soft, and incredibly delicious. We also love that we've never had an issue finding parking, which makes stopping by quick and easy. On nice days, we enjoy taking our donuts outside to eat, and it's become a fun little tradition for our family. Even our toddler looks forward to our donut stop here every time we're in town! The quality, freshness, and friendly service keep us coming back again and again. If you're in Encinitas and craving a great donut, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!
We came down to Encinitas to grab a bite to eat. Unfortunately, the streets were closed off for a Farmers Market event. Luckily, we found a parking spot nearby and we were able to explore around the area. This time, we were able to walk around to see what else was located nearby. While walking down Coast Highway, we saw some large advertisements for Broad Street Doughnuts. The photos were colorful and we were in the mood to try something new. We had never heard of Broad Street Doughnuts, so we were hoping that these would be delicious. Broad Street Doughnuts is located off of PCH, in the city of Encinitas. This is their only location on the west coast. They have 3 other locations in New Jersey, so it's great that they opened up a shop out here. They share a parking lot with other businesses, so parking is relatively easy. Their doughnuts are made to order. You will not get that stale, day old taste when you take your first bite.They are fried up after you place your order and then the toppings are applied. It beats staring are doughnuts through a case and ordering what may have been sitting there for hours on end. The menu is on the wall and it's totally visual. Each combo is displayed in a vivid photo. You can select from those or from the doughnuts that are near the register. The doughnuts at the front counter are not featured on the visual menu, so you may need to ask about their toppings/combos. I got a classic rainbow sprinkled doughnuts, along with a half glazed and half chocolate sprinkled doughnut. We also ordered a cotton candy doughnut that had what looked like dried out cotton candy. Delicious!!!! These doughnuts were light and fluffy. They were warm to the touch and incredibly fresh. They are a bit smaller in size, when compared to an average size doughnut. They seem prefect in size because you could walk the calories off while exploring around Encinitas. Broad Street Doughnuts was a pleasant surprise. Sometimes the visual representation isn't always an indicator of how good the product will be. In this case, the product lived up to the visual representation. We have passed by Broad Street Doughnuts many times, and finally had an opportunity to stop by. We were pleasantly surprised with both the product and how friendly the staff were with all of the customers. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area!
Hot and fresh, fresh, fresh donuts here! All donuts are made to order and you can witness them being made. This cute little shop grabbed our attention while we were enjoying a morning drink. We walked right in and were greeted by a friendly face. A large menu with so many choices and 40 flavors to choose from. They also offer vegan and gluten free donuts. Since the donuts are made to order, you can substitute toppings and create your own donut. On the weekends they offer specials as well. We went with an order of nine donuts and as soon as we got them to our table, we all enjoyed one. So delicious coming out of the shop, my mouth was watering with the anticipation of tasting these yummy treats. They are a smaller donut but packed with so much flavor. These donuts were a big hit with our family. Do-Nut miss out on trying these delicious rings of flavor and love!
North County Donut Tour - Stop 2. Broad Street Dough is everything I want in a donut shop. Open layout where you can see your fresh donuts getting prepared, step by step. Photos, fresh displays and written descriptions so that people of all communication styles can select their preferred donuts. Extremely warm customer service, and a family like environment with multiple generations of folks working together to bring a smile to patrons' faces. I tried the Broad Street and West Side donuts. We were also generously comped a flight of one of their specialties - churro-donuts. All arrived fresh, warm and so delicious. The donuts were a reasonable size and not too sweet. The texture of the churro-donuts was also delightful. It feels like Broad Street cares about serving up fresh, custom creations instead of over-indexing on visual appeal and size over quality as I've experienced at other donut shops. Encinitans are fortunate to have such a high caliber local donut shop in their community.
I went to Broad Street Donuts last weekend and it totally lived up to the hype. We tried the Boston crème and another one filled with banana cream and Nutella. Both were phenomenal. They make the donuts fresh to order, so it took about five minutes to get ours. I would imagine the wait would be longer depending on how busy they are, but it was absolutely worth the short wait. The staff were super helpful when we were asking about flavors and gave great suggestions. Fair warning, the donuts are huge. But honestly, that just makes them more fun to share or to enjoy twice. They even have doggie donuts that they give for free! My pups loved them too!
The actual yeast donut was really good but I felt like the toppings were lacking! The blueberry bliss was my favorite, the cannoli filling in mulberry street was too ricotta-y and I really didn't like the chocolate chips, and the island broad was only okay.

Part of a menu offering 40+ customized, fresh, kosher, and gluten-free/vegan-friendly options. - DONUTS: delicious - PRICE: fair - SERVICE: excellent - AMBIANCE: plaza donut shop I was first introduced years ago during the Taste of Encinitas with their mini donuts. It encouraged me to come back and get the larger donuts when in the area. Location is in a plaza with some decent parking - if not street parking is available. It's a very popular place mostly with local residence and they have eps and flows of people coming and going. To order minis, orders must be place in advance. Their regular sized donuts have a wide selection of flavors - makes it hard to choose. I like my donuts basic and classic and usually stick with the old skool selection. Didn't crave anything from their specialty menu. Went for "a Little Extra" and ordered something stacked and oozy. THE BALBOA ($3.85) - Bavarian Cream, Vanilla. I appreciate the size - how it's a manageable sized doughnut that's not too big nor too small, for some it may be on the smaller side but it's perfect for me. The dough is fluffy like a pillow and soft, light and felt weightless - no density, and has the perfect moisture. The Bavarian cream gave it that little extra moisture but not making it too soggy. Ratio of doughnut to cream was about 50:50. Thought I'd get sick of the cream but was satisfied with it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND I think I'm going to explore their A Little Extra menu more often. Will def be back. Until the next review....
FINALLY getting to try out broad street donuts!! its been on my list FOREVER!! these donuts are made to order, similar to duck donuts in OC. the menu is a bit overwhelming but they have photos for ppl like me LOL..imma visual gal :D they offer a box of mini's: 9, 25, 35 regular donuts: single, box of 6, 9, 12 i ordered a box of 9, def order more than i needed but they were still really tasty the next morning! i got to pick a few specialty ones, which were $1 extra, donuts are either gluten free, vegan or both! super cute shop, friendly staff and delicious treats! seating avail inside and outside my order was ready before i was done snapping all my photos. def recommend stopping in and/or bookmarking broad street! you will not be disappointed. parking: shared lot, no issues.
My husband and I adore a good donut, so while visiting Encinitas, we decided to try Broad Street Dough Co. Upon entering we were greeted by staff who were friendly and helpful. The menu is fairly big and can be slightly overwhelming. They had display donuts to view which only added to that feeling of "what should I order?". After much debate we decided on "Old School" glazed and chocolate donuts, the BDSC Specialty S'mores Galore donut and a "Little Extra" West Park donut. The donuts all had the same base, the toppings and frostings are what makes them different. This was slightly disappointing as we were hoping to experience different flavor profiles and textures. The donuts were definitely fresh and warm and tasted delicious. We would love to return so we can try four new donuts to experience.
Randomly stopped in while heading down the coast. The husband was hungry for some breakfast and it was the first result. We ordered our own individual donuts and were absolutely surprised these are freshly made to order. We opened the box in the cute little outdoor courtyard and the donuts were steaming and smelling absolutely delicious. We loved every single one and immediately starting sending our recommendation texts to our family. The cashier quickly explained how it works, the donuts of the day and pointed out photos of the donuts behind us, ya know, cuz sometimes the picture is enough to order it.
SO. GOOD. I stopped by on a drive back from SD to LA and so glad I did! The donuts are customized fresh to order, which means they come out warm and delicious. I love that they're a little smaller than standard donuts because it meant I could sample more flavors! The nitro cold brew was great, too. As for the donut flavors I tried... BRUNCH BROAD - 10/10 A perfect donut. I grabbed an extra one to go for my boyfriend (even though he's not a huge donut fan - I was sure he'd like it). He ate it the next day and loved it so much he took a picture of the packaging so we could come back, haha. The maple scent is strong and intoxicating! NANTUCKET - 9/10 Also amazing. The warm caramel and sea salt were absolutely delicious. CREAMSICLE - 8/10 A really unique and delicious donut! I'd order this one again for sure. CINNAMON SUGAR - 7/10 Classic and delicious. CHAI TOWN - 5/10 A little disappointed in this one. I got a lot of super sweet vanilla icing flavor and couldn't really taste the chai spices. ISLAND BROAD - 4/10 Not for me, unfortunately. I absolutely love lemon desserts but the lemon flavor tasted artificial :( Will absolutely be back next chance I get and can't wait to try more flavors!
First time visiting. I just got one donut to try. I ordered the Nantucket. The donut cost $2.65. It was served freshly made and still warm. The glaze was so thin that I couldn't taste any caramel flavor. I have had better made to order donuts at another donut place. I don't think my donut was made correctly. It was basically tasteless. It was also small. Certainly was not worth waiting 15 minutes for nor paying $2.65. The glaze was basically missing.

I loved these donuts so much these are the best donuts I've had in my life. I dont remember what flavor I got but I think the chocolate chip one in my photo is Guava chocolate chip or something. Super cute donut shop in the heart of downtown Encinitas! We were in search of a North County donut shop that serves vegan donuts as we were bringing them to a friend's house for dinner. They make the donuts fresh for you which is a unique touch. Service was very friendly. Vegan Flavors we tried. Nantucket, Strawberry Fields, Funky Monkey, Blueberry Bliss, the Aztec, and Island Bread. Would definitely come back to try their non vegan flavors next! read more
A friend brought us to Broad Street Dough Co and it was definitely an experience to get a made to order donut freshly glazed. At first, a lot of flavors seemed run of the mill and not quite to my preferences but eventually I saw the dreamsicle which was absolutely up my alley. The citrusy glaze was really tasty and the bit of vanilla drizzle was just enough to give it that creamy undertone to check the dreamsicle box. I personally think it was still a bit too sweet for my liking overall but that hot crispy donut texture was...*chefs kiss*! Would recommend as a $3 treat! read more

We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon based on recommendations that we try these donuts. Well, I was underwhelmed. The donuts are "made to order", and there is a menu for selecting the donuts you order. We chose six different donuts plus two gluten-free ones. I was hoping for some French crullers -- the light airy, fluted, ring-shaped glazed doughnut extruded from choux pastry -- in the mix, but everyone was a dense cake donut, including the "filled" donuts. And the donuts were considerably smaller than expected. Quite disappointing. Just not my style of donut. I'm glad we tried them, and service was great, but I don't think we'll be back. read more
I honestly have no words--I am completely in love with Broad Street Dough Co. The variety of gluten-free vegan donuts is absolutely out of this world. Not only are they made fresh to order, but they come out warm, fluffy, and insanely delicious. If I lived in San Diego, this would 100% be my daily go-to spot. Just... wow. Every donut I tried was great, but my top three were: 1. Lemon Jelly 2. Chai Town 3. Strawberry Fields I also tried Coco Loco, The Aztec, West Park, and Wake & Bake, and honestly, every single one was delicious. All the others were amazing as well, but those three truly stood out in flavor and texture for me. The shop itself is clean, welcoming, and has a great vibe. Customer service was exceptional--the staff member who helped me was incredibly kind, patient, and answered all my questions (I wish I caught her name!). She explained that they use separate sections for gluten-free vegan donuts and also accommodate nut allergies, which I really appreciated as someone with celiac disease. That said, they do also make regular donuts and regular vegan donuts, so there is still a risk of cross-contamination--just something to keep in mind. The safety protocols are clearly in place, and they are very transparent and accommodating. I also ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk, which was delicious. They don't add sweetener to their matcha by default (which I love), but syrups are available if you prefer it sweeter. I added just one pump of vanilla since the donuts were already sweet--perfect balance. And let me tell you... I'm still thinking about these donuts. They were so flavorful, light, and fluffy. I don't think I've ever had a gluten-free and vegan donut that was this fluffy before. You can really tell they focus on freshness and make batches to order. They even offer complimentary water, which is such a thoughtful touch. Overall, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Hands down, these are the best donuts I've had since being diagnosed with celiac disease--and I already knew about my dairy and egg allergies. Broad Street Dough Co. truly delivers on flavor, quality, and care. If you're gluten-free, vegan, or both, this place is a must-try. read more

Stopped here on a weekend when I was waiting on some friends. The place is small but cute inside. They have free little donut dog treats if you have a fur baby. They make the items fresh while you wait, which definitely makes a difference. I checked out the menu and saw they had beignets, in 3 different flavors. They all looked extremely good, but I decided to try the original powdered ones. They definitely did not disappoint. The beignets were warm and tasty. A little crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. You get 3 for around 6 dollars. You will definitely get powder all over, so be prepared. I would definitely go check it out if you are in the area, and grab a snack or two! read more

If you like freshly made, warm donuts... this is your spot! The menu describes each donut and there are pictures on the opposite wall. Each donut takes about 2 minutes to prepare. Both of my two donuts looked exquisite. The Nantucket with hot caramel and sea salt was my first choice, and it was good. I was reminded that hot caramel has a more intense taste, as opposed to the mellow taste of cold caramel. The Route 66 chocolate dipped with chocolate sprinkles was my second choice. I've never had a donut with more sprinkles, and it kinda tasted like Cocoa Pebbles! Big fan! There are small egg-shaped tables where you can sit and enjoy. They also serve drinks. Broad Street is in a mini-mall and you should be able to find a parking spot. read more

My husband and I drove all the way from Los Angeles to try the donuts at Broad Street Dough Co., and it was a MASSIVE let down. We were so excited to come here since we are dairy and gluten-free, and they advertised having so many options that fit our restrictions. Most of the staff are much younger individuals (assumingely high school or early college), which is fine, but consequently the customer service was horrible and fit the exhausting stereotype of Gen-Z. Distracted. Disengaged. Lacking any form of care. We ordered the classic chocolate vegan gluten free donut and the broadwalk vegan gluten free, which is a vanilla rainbow sprinkle. The total before tip was about $7 and despite experiencing no customer service, we still tipped. These "donuts" were awful. Both the chocolate and vanilla were completely undercooked and just pure warm mush with hot icing that was pure liquid and spilling over everything the moment we tried to eat it. The literal raw dough we were served had very little taste on its own. The chocolate frosting tasted fine but the "vanilla" frosting tasted like nothing but pure powdered sugar. My husband and I were so dang disappointed. The cherry on top was that we both walked away with stomach aches after eating the donuts too. Maybe the regular donuts are different, but the gluten free and dairy free experience here was a nightmare. read more
On my way to the Scotty Cameron store, I stumbled upon Broad Street Dough Co. and decided to give it a try. I got the Aloha Broad, churro croissant bites, and a cold brew. Everything is made to order, which was a nice surprise. The Aloha Broad had a good balance of sweetness from the pineapple with toasted coconut on top. The churro croissant bites were flakey, warm, and had just the right amount of cinnamon sugar. Cold brew hit the spot. It's definitely on the pricier side, but you can taste the quality. Fun little spot, and you get to watch them make everything right behind the counter. read more

Awesome donuts at Broad Street and I believe they make them all fresh! (Or at least we got lucky and they did) They have a TON of options, and when we went they even had all kinds of holiday items. I tried The Coaster and the churro bites and they were both super delicious! The churro bites were insanely good but I think they might be seasonal. The Coaster was a great option and I feel like I could have tried any of them and been happy. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the service was quick! Great little spot in Encinitas for a sweet treat so I would 100% recommend. read more
This is a very cool doughnut shop located along Pacific Coast Highway in Encinitas. The interior is charming and the doughnuts are made fresh to order and are extremely attractive. We tried the popular Wake and Bake which is coffee-flavored with chocolate chips. However, the coffee flavor was hardly noticeable so this one was a bit of a disappointment. It's an ok doughnut but if they upped the coffee flavor by a lot, it would be much better. The Broadstreet, made with chocolate, pretzels, peanuts, and caramel, was solid. The S'mores Galore was the star of the show. It is made with chocolate, graham crackers, marshmallows, and caramel. It's beautiful looking and absolutely delicious. The doughnuts are all freshly made and come to you warm. They look like belly bombs but they are delightfully lighter than you might expect. The menu is awesome and I would gladly them again. Voted best in north county in 2024. Located in a nice little plaza. Has so much variety that it was hard to choose. The names were really interesting. I got a simple sugar doughnut and a caramel sea salt. They were both tasty. The size is smaller than the regular doughnuts but I preferred it. After ordering they make it fresh and they were quick too. There were coffee choices too. read more
