Stopped by yesterday to try this coffee shop and overall had a great experience. One thing I really appreciate is that their flavors are made in-house, which always makes drinks taste more unique and less artificial. I ordered a honey cinnamon latte with half sweetness and it was really good. The flavor balance was great and not overly sweet, which is exactly how I like my coffee. I also picked up an iced vanilla latte, and that one was just as good. When I was ordering, the person taking my order didn't seem very interested in giving recommendations when I asked, but the barista who made the drinks was very nice and the coffee itself was excellent, which made up for it. There's some construction going on in the area right now, but I was still able to find parking without too much trouble. The food also looked really good, though I only tried the drinks this time. There is ample seating and bathrooms for customers in the back. Overall, great coffee and I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday morning -- this café shares its space with a deli sandwich shop. They have their own parking lot, which was super convenient, and plenty of outdoor patio seating along with some indoor tables. The menu looked great, and they also had a nice selection of pastries. Unfortunately, they didn't have "for here" cups for my latte, and the butter croissant was just okay. It was also quite noisy inside, mostly from the baristas, which made it hard to sit and relax. read more

I was in a pinch and needed a snack during an appointment. Luckily Queenstage was within walking distance on Coast Hwy. Queenstage is a cute coffee shop attached to the biker's favorite Moto Deli. Unfortunately they don't serve food past 11 which was disappointing - but you can always go to Moto if you are hungry. The shop itself was super cute, clean and well decorated. It wasn't that busy on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered an iced matcha with oat milk and also had a croissant. The croissant was a little bit stale but had good flavor. The matcha was good too. I found this coffee shop while looking for coffee in Encinitas area. I found it cool and hip and love the walls painting with those green leaves. That was the only inviting thing in this place. I ordered me stuff and showed the barista my 10% discount after checking on Yelp and she said 'no, we don't take coupons'. I told her well why do you guys advertise on yelp, you have to honor what you promise. She keeps refusing giving me excuses that there have been numerous changes in ownership. I don't need to know that, that is not my business ans in my opinion that should not be discussed with customers because not only gives bad vibes but also makes you think: so you are telling me the previous owners were more generous. Then she called the owner and after speaking to him she accepted the Yelp discount. No smiles, bad attitude, no sorry for the misunderstanding. Then she said but just for this time. I thought I was lost at first at the Moro Cafe, but Queenstage is inside the Cafe to the right! I ordered a flat white and a special toast. The coffee may be small, but it packs a punch! The toast did not disappoint, & had a generous serving of salmon with it. Gentle spice with great flavor, but probably not for grandma (if your granny is like mine and is a little sensitive lol). I squeezed in right before their kitchen closed at 1:30pm, so be sure to give the kitchen time to clean up before closing time. It's a small business, so let's be extra cool to the chefs who make it happen! The barista's can keep making coffee until 2:30pm. The ambiance is very hipster, chill. The ladies on the staff team staff were all bilingual in Spanish & English today, which is totally awesome! There is free WiFi, but it is a little too loud to take work calls. We were on our way to brunch but still had time before the restaurant opened so my husband and I decided to stop here and get some coffee. It is hard to find first of all. The signs for the place are very small and hard to see. It is located inside a building with a sandwich place and a cycling or bicycle shop. It's a cute shop, they also have some food items and a small selection of pastries. My husband ordered a vanilla latte and I ordered a honnamon latte(honey and cinnamon) . I am going to sound like a coffee snob . But when I order a hot coffee I want it to be hot so I can enjoy it while it's cooling down. These drinks were just warm I finished it within a few minutes. This is a very nice coffee shop in Encinitias- Leucadia area. I had a flat white and a toasted biscuit with jam. The flat white was tasty and offered a terrific rich flavor and easy drinking smoothness. The biscuit was very good and comes from Farmshop Wholesale Bakehouse up north. It's a great choice because it has great flavor and especially texture. I liked the jam, but I do with they would make a 100% house made jam and not the doctored up version that they use here. It was good, but overly sweet from the sugar. Adding a nice homemade compote to this biscuit would be just grand. The coffee shop is located in the back of Velotown Bike Shop and just past The Hamburger Hut in the same building. They have seating inside and outside in front of the bike shop in the form of picnic benches which are shared with the Hambuger Hut. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Best coffee drink ever. So so good! Totally brings us back to Mexico City! They nailed this recipe. For food we had the gluten free avocado toast. The bread is so incredible and it's locally made. It is by far the best toast I have ever had. They also have a house made salsa that they drizzle over the top. It is super unique and adds the perfect flavor! You can even purchase some to take home. My husband had the ham and toast and loved it! Everything had so much flavor and was super fresh. They have a variety of different coffee and tea and kombucha on tap so there is something for everyone. They use steady state for their coffee drinks and it is amazing! I was super excited to check this place out but wasn't blown away with the experience here. I think we just came at a super busy time, so the service was a little slow. I ordered an iced americano with a splash of almond milk and the barista accidentally made me an iced almond milk latte. I accepted the latte anyway and it tasted great! However, it wasn't what I had ordered. She did offer to remake it which was very kind but I didn't want to waste the drink! I also ordered the Greek yogurt bowl with granola. The fruit was fresh and I really enjoyed the Greek yogurt. However, they added almond butter to mine (which it doesn't say is included on the menu). Luckily, I like almond butter, but this could potentially be an issue for other customers so I would make sure to ask! My mom ordered a drip coffee which was good, but they were out of half and half. The chocolate croissant she ordered was just okay. Overall, this spot is really cute and the food/drinks taste good! We just had a couple mess-ups with our order and could tell that the baristas were really flustered from the rush, which affected the experience. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and it was exactly what I expected - creamy and smooth. The outdoor seating is part of what makes this shop stand out - there's lots of tables with umbrellas which makes it a great spot to sit and chat with friends. We spoke with the owner who was very friendly and explained how they share the space with hamburger joint (which is opening later this year) and the bike shop. Once you locate Queenstage, you are actually treated to a fairly good cup of joe. Sharing space with MotoDeli (formerly Hamburger Hut, which is now located on the premises of Priority Public House, because they are all owned by the same outfit and they can't seem to decide where they want their businesses to be on the 101), this small cafe offers some breakfast/brunch fare, as well as higher quality teas and coffees. This review is for the espresso drinks only. And frankly, because I have had some pretty problematic service from the eateries mentioned above, I was dubious about what sort of baristas would be employed. As it turned out, my doubts were ill-founded. On the two occasions I have been (a cortado and a latte), the results were good, well-balanced coffees. The wonderful warm, full and slightly chalky consistency perfectly suited the flavor of the beans. I walked away being surprisingly and thankfully impressed. And it was because of that good impression that I also inadvertently found something I must criticize: the price of the coffee itself. I liked the flavors so much, that I decided that it might be nice to grab a 12 oz. bag of their beans for home use. To say they exceed the cost of comparable offerings from other coffee houses is an understatement. Some of their quite normal single origins well-exceeded the $20 mark. I know that the owners do not roast their own beans, but seriously: consider another source! Fortunately, the retail price for espresso drinks at Queenstage itself is reasonable and that alone is worth the return. read more

We had breakfast at queenstage coffee house. location was a bit odd, it's also a part of a sandwich and bike shop of the main street. There was only one or two seats inside but they had picnic tables out by the street. I had the tiramisu coffee which was great, and I also had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant with bacon. It was super flakey and delicious, I thought the sandwich would maybe have more than just egg and bacon, it wasn't super filling but it was good nonetheless. My mom had the speciality toast which she said was fantastic. I wish the atmosphere was more cute and cozy than picnic tables off the highway but the food was good, we were the only ones there so the service was pretty quick. I'd recommend if you needed a quick bite to eat if you're in the area! read more
