We came for a birthday. It's a really cute place and a new so super clean as well. The service was solid. These are the dishes we had. Seabass Korean steak. Fried chicken House salad and shrimp cocktail. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I love dim lighting but it was almost too dark for eating. Maybe an additional lamp in the table? We had a lovely dinner with friends last night! Everyone enjoyed their meal and they were very accommodating to my gluten allergy. The Artichoke Ricotta dip did not list as GF but when asked they swapped the bread for a crudités of cucumber carrot and snap pea! Delish! We also shared the chilled shrimp which was also yummy! For mains we had The Sea Bass, Korean Skirt Steak, Chicken frites and the house salad with avocado! We stopped by for Easter brunch. For the holiday, they had their usual brunch menu along with a special cinnamon roll. Service was good, and even though they were pretty busy, they still checked in on us throughout the meal. Our group ordered the cinnamon roll, short rib potstickers, turkey melt French dip, wagyu cheeseburger, and a toasted bagel with cream cheese with a side of bacon and potatoes. We also got coffee lattes (the Rocket, the Cleo, and the Wildflower). Everything was delicious! Our favorite was definitely the cinnamon roll. It was so fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. Honestly, it was one of the best cinnamon rolls we've ever had. They only have it on special occasions, so if you happen to stop by when it's available, I highly recommend getting it. The short rib in the potstickers was super tender, and the house-made wrapper made them melt in your mouth, especially with the ponzu sauce. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the French dip was meaty with an au jus that was a total flavor bomb. The coffee drinks were strong, delicious, and not overly sweet. This place has a darling little patio, heaters to keep you warm and covered but very open and fresh. Food is great, I had a salad with mushrooms, artichoke, cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potato and some other yummy things thrown in there. The Salmon and roasted beet dish is excellent and they do it the way you want. Many other excellent appetizers and main courses. Only downside is the staff seems to be more occupied with each other talking and eating than the customers. Even though 9-12 staff were at times behind the small bar it was hard to get their attention. In any event the food is excellent. Get there early or make a reservation so you can get a good seat. Great experience on a Saturday night. Went @ around 5:30pm. We got to sit on the patio section. I was afraid it would be too cold, but surprisingly the heaters keep the patio area really nice and warm. I noticed they also provide you with small blankets if you ask them. We got a server that was in training, and she was extremely sweet and efficient. I forgot to get her name, but the whole staff were excellent. I had my all time favorite harvest bowl and a winter sangria. Food arrived really fast and drink was perfect. This was my first time at the Carlsbad location, I usually go to the on in Coronado. As you can see, I am not lying when I say this is truly my boyfriend and I's favorite place to eat at the moment. We decided to do a movie at Cinepolis yesterday and wanted to grab brunch beforehand. Since this place is always busy (for good reason) I made reservations on OpenTable so that we can experience regular indoor table seating (we always sit at the bar). Our reservations were for 11:30am, Sunday March 23rd, and we arrived to the parking lot 10min early. I found that the BEST place to find parking is to the left after immediately pulling into the Forum Parking Lot (Near Jimbos). There were ample parking spaces to choose from! We arrived at the hostess desk 2 minutes early and both ladies were, as always, so welcoming. They checked us in and quickly guided us to our table. Now...this table location was the absolutely perfect spot for viewing the restaurant. It was towards the back wall nearest the mirrors with writing all over them, and a 2-top that was part of a booth that lined the backwall. Essentially you shared the booth seating with others but the space between each table was far spread enough to where you werent joining in on Susan's 55th birthday party next to you haha! My boyfriend and I loved it. He took the chair seating that was across from my booth seat and our table was a small but mighty size with an adorable touch-activated lamp in the middle which im sure adds some romance in the evening. After admiring our location...our waitress walked up to greet us and introduce herself. Her name was Kayla, and she was AMAZING! She left us with the pretty green leather drink menu so we could peruse to make our decision and also asked if she can get us anything in the meantime. I quickly replied with the spicy tuna & crispy rice appetizer (because its my favorite). Kayla was honestly all smiles, and so sweet she left and got that order put in...then came back within a few minutes for drink orders and entrees. I ordered the wildflower coffee again and also a 9oz. Pour of their Reisling & and my boyfriend ordered an Old Fashioned. The coffee was just as good as I remembered... the Reisling is not a dry one and definitely leans on the slightly sweeter end of the scale (I loved it). They only have one Reisling option, so if you want a white wine that isnt bitter or dry? Go with this. The old fashioned was DELICIOUS ...one that you find yourself sipping on constantly. They even brand their "H" into the ice cube! It's honestly the little things that always amaze me here. For entrees, I went with the Bolognese and my boyfriend went with the Korean Strip Steak. Our appetizer came out shortly after our drinks & our food took a bit longer just like other times we visited BUT I will say they were always busy when this happens AND we werent waiting a horrendous amount of time. Think about freshly made items and how long they take to make and then add 15 minutes on top of that. If im being honest with the enjoyment of our beverages and just looking around the room...you lose track of time anyways! Since we ordered these entrees before...we knew what taste we were looking for in each...and I dont know how but both of our orders were even better than the first time we had them. I have no clue how but again, we were happy...Kayla made it a point to make her rounds to check on us to the point where I didn't have to worry if I needed something. I knew she would be by shortly to see if things were okay, and we loved that! Kayla you're an MVP! We finished our meals, asked for our check and then were visited by who I think was the manager or supervisor on duty that day. She was VERY nice and kind and asked how everything was. I told her obviously, how amazing things were, and she was so happy to hear that. She thanked us for coming in and wished us a good day! This was the first time this happened, so we were happy to see that. After saying goodbye to Kayla, we were again thanked for coming in by the hostesses and the same manager as we left. I used to go to the one in Coronado, but since they opened one by my house, why not go to this one too? This location has sushi and a bit more options in drinks. Been here a few times now and had an early birthday dinner here, where I was given a card and free champagne. It was very cool of them. I also had the option of picking out a dessert with a candle for my birthday. My kids love the sushi and crab cakes here. They also love the potatoes here: truffle fries, mashed potatoes, and sweet potatoes were all delicious. I loved the crab cakes, the tuna crudo, and the roasted chicken. We've sat inside as well as outdoors and I don't think you can go wrong with either. They had the heat lamps on for outdoors and so it didn't feel like we were outdoors. We arrived on Monday around 5pm and there was no line at all. The place was quiet with a calm, pleasant atmosphere, and the service was excellent. The food overall was okay. The burger was disappointing the bun was dry and had a strong burnt taste. The Caesar salad was decent. The spicy tuna was almost good but the bottom was a bit dry and there was a little too much mayo. The cocktails were tasty, and parking is easy with plenty of space. Interior seating of booths and tables and also bar seating inside and out. There is a covered patio and some sunnier high tops. Everything we have tasted we have enjoyed. There are plenty of choices on the menu including Vegan options delicious sounding enough for an omnivore to enjoy. Brunch til 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays for those that like to sleep in and still get breakfast. First time, we had the ham and cheese quiche and the cinnamon sugar french toast which tasted like a better Cinnabon. Our second time we had the roasted turkey french dip, the roasted chicken and avocado salad, and a side of spicy double egg fried rice. Everything was very tasty. Our waiter explained that they (wait staff) were all highly trained and that the cook is NO NONSENSE. Which I love. Food: That being said, our food was very good. I got the Roasted Chicken and Avocado Salad, which was wonderful. Fresh and crispy with house made croutons and wonderfully colorful. I'd get it again ... but a bit expensive. My hubby ordered the All American Burger. It was a great burger ... but nothing extra special (in his words). Meh. Again, a bit expensive. Drink: I ordered a diet Coke, which was hardly bubbly - quite dead in fact. I told the waiter, who apologized and asked if I wanted another. Of course I said, 'no', pouring another one isn't going to change their proportions. I hate this. When I get a diet soda, I want it lively! Well, he brought me a specialty drink as an apology, the Honeydew Highball (non alcoholic). I appreciated that, it was great wonderful - except it wasn't sugar-free, of course. Oh well, it was a nice gesture, and I appreciated that. Dessert: We tried the Molten Butter Cake because it was highlighted on the menu and we wanted to try their 'signature' dessert. The gelato and carmel were amazing, but when it came to the cake, it was so-so. Not like our favorite warm butter cake at another favorite restaurant. At all. I won't get it again. The small bar was lively - we sat near it. The atmosphere was fun, clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a nice place for maybe a couple times a year. We wish it was more of a neighborhood restaurant where you can bring your kids once every couple weeks. It's not real kid-friendly in our opinion. There you have it. Four of us went here for lunch. Colby was our waiter he was very good, attentive and made sure we had everything for an enjoyable lunch. We sat outside in their tent. They had nice heaters but the traffic noise was annoying at times. The cocktails here are on the expensive side, $17 each for a spicy Margarita, Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini is a bit high. they were good, but not exceptional. $25 for a glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne was ridiculous. We ordered the Henry House salad with chicken, roasted chicken and avocado salad, Roasted Turkey French Dip Sandwich and the Hot Honey Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The food was very good, a little slow in the delivery but they were very busy. Salads on the side with the sandwiches were minimal. That all changed once I heard that "The Henry" was opening in North County San Diego. Although both breakfast and lunch options are available, it is while promoting the dinner experience that "The Henry" shines the brightest. When asked to capture why the nighttime ambiance feels so elevated two of our Review Team Members suggested that the true character of this space is only fully revealed by the warm lighting tones singularly reserved for the dinner patrons. These lighting differences create a slightly upscale, yet comfortably casual vibe. A place where your favorite pair of jeans seamlessly coexists with a designer martini. While settling in at your table I recommend an "Amalfi Spritz" or "Hank's House Blonde" to accompany your "Umami Brussel Sprouts", "Short Rib Potstickers", and/or "Pretzels & Provolone Fondue." When you get serious about entrees I'd recommend the "Scottish Salmon", "Bolognese", and/or "Korean Prime Skirt Steak." You won't want to end your night without including dessert and I'd recommend the "Warm Croissant Bread Pudding", "Chocolate Fudge Pie", and/or "Molten Butter Cake" (all of which pair nicely with a "Hank's Espresso Martini"). If you happen to be navigating the dating scene there is an intimate lounge area near the bar that offers a genteel atmosphere and the acoustics lend themselves well to determining just where this is, or is not, heading. Went yesterday for Mother's Day with 7 of us in the party. We were seated pretty much right away after checking in for our reservation. Our waitress checked in with us when the entire party was seated. She did a good job of checking on us throughout service without being intrusive. The food was consistently good. The appetizers of pretzel balls & cheese was loved by my grandsons. And short rib potstickers were also tasty. My daughter & I shared the Korean flank steak & tuna with crispy rice. Both were excellent. My fellow mother-in-law had the Scottish salmon. One grandson devoured his cheese sandwich. Other grandson & SIL had bagel w/ smoked salmon. My husband had the breakfast with eggs & bacon. Everyone was happy with their choice. Loss of a star due to hiccups in service. Grandsons's drinks came out as club soda & had to be returned for Sprite they ordered. My husband asked for a second Spritzer & they brought out the wrong drink. Then we asked for more pepper & it took a few times of asking before someone finally gave us another pepper grinder. Also, we asked for plates to be divided, but had to ask for extra plates & divided up food ourselves. (Last time, the kitchen did it). Still service was better than last time. I've been to this place for brunch twice now and both times it was a good experience. Located in a strip mall at the Forum, this location is where Panera used to be. Both times I've been here, it was for brunch on a Saturday between 10-10:45am. We've never had to wait to be seated for our party of 2. There's plenty of seating both outdoor and indoor. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions about the food items. We ordered 2 of their coffee drinks which were absolutely delicious, and the Ham & Cheese quiche and the Roasted Turkey French Dip. The quiche was good but a bit saltier than I'd prefer, but the French Dip was great. During our meal, what looks like a manager came around, and asked how everything was, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, we had run out of water mid-meal which was never refilled because our server didn't come by until we were already finished and our check was given. So we left a bit parched. Oh my sweet potato. This was the spot that the forum needed to add. There aren't a many good food options in this area, but there are plenty of good shopping. First off the ambience is perfect. Modern but cozy. Trust me when I say it's a vibe here. It's definitely going to be or already has become the local watering hole for this neighborhood. The Henry really executed on all fronts. The staff has been so great and has been so helpful every time I've done here. I've come to work in the mornings at their coffee bar. I've come for lunch with girlfriends. I've come for dinner during date night. And I've also ended a night of debauchery here after dinner at Casa! My favorite food items have been the Japanese sweet potatoes, ahi salad, and Brussels sprouts. I'm looking forward to trying more here. What used to be a Panera really turned into a nice upscale restaurant nestled in the Forum. There's tons of outdoor seating, a bar and ample seating inside. Service is really good - will explain later. Food selection is a a little random - sushi, pasta, burgers, steaks and salads. So, if you've got picky eaters or dietary restrictions, you should be able to find something. We ordered the rigatoni based on the volume of pics we saw on yelp and the Korean steak. I ordered medium, but the steak came out med-rare which is still fine. The rice and veggies were spectacular, and the steak melted in my mouth and was ample in size. Overall, this was 5/5. The rigatoni on the other hand had overcooked pasta and a really runny sauce - not what we expected. It felt rushed or the timing wasn't down just yet. 2/5. One of the managers came by and we let her know so they comped a free dessert (butter cake is superb) so that was kind of them. We'll be back in a bit to try it again, once things settle. read more
