First time to this Eureka location. Location is convenient if you are in Carlsbad and it has easy parking. The layout of the restaurant is nice and airy. The food and drinks are ok. I have been to the UTC location many times and think the food is better there. The service was ok but it looked like they needed more servers. We got our food before we got our drinks. I came here recently for happy hour. I had been before but my friend hadn't. They have a lovely outdoor patio area where lots of kids were playing. The inside has big open windows. It was pretty busy but we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and welcoming. She answered our questions and took our orders for apps and wine. We were surprised by the extensive bourbon menu and wide price range, that's not something I've seen often. She brought us water and our food was up quickly. The fried pickles were exactly like they sound like they would be, but they need a different sauce. The frachos had good flavor and were filling. We both enjoyed them. We also both liked our wine.. So good I should've took it before picture. I got DoorDash cause I'm at work in Vista. I've been dying for a Caesar salad so yesterday I went to King's Fish House paid $30 for the shittiest salad you've ever seen in your life. I looked up one close to me and found Eureka buy one get one and they are so nice to leave two dressings and the salad is green. Thank you Eureka. I'll be ordering for a meal from now on. read more

You guys. Seriously. This place is SO GOOD!!! There are just so many positive aspects... From the moment we walked in the hostess was super friendly and seated us right away. She brought over crayons and coloring pages for my 4 year old and then let her pick out a sticker from a sticker book!! Our server greeted us promptly for our drink order and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Then a few minutes later someone brought my kiddo a snack plate!! What a genius idea!! It had a few carrots and orange slices and she enjoyed it while we had literally the best Brussels sprouts I've ever tasted. They were crispy and soooooo flavorful! I ordered the fig burger with a side Caesar and my daughter had a cheese quesadilla. The burger and the salad were both amazing!! I mean look at all the yummy Parmesan on the Caesar!! My burger was cooked exactly the way I wanted it and it was absolutely delicious. We had the peanut butter pie for dessert and let me just tell you, I did not want to share it at all! It was so rich and yummy. The overall vibe is casual and fun and a lot of people were having a blast during happy hour. Our service was excellent throughout. Stopped in for a post pickleball meal, which was conveniently close by... a quick drive to the next business center over. I love burning a lot of calories just to put more calories back in...LOL! It was a chill vibe inside...wasn't busy since we came around 3pm. However, I think we happened to come right at their shift change because it took about 15 minutes or so before someone finally came to our table. Anna introduced herself and apologized that no one had come...all good since we saw they were changing shifts. She was so incredibly sweet and took great care of us. Thank you, Anna! Been here twice with the same group of friends, and I can honestly say the food is consistently satisfying. Started with their Nachos (w/ steak), which we shared and inhaled. I ordered the Eureka American Burger with fries for my meal, which hit the spot. The others were equally satisfied with their orders (not pictured), finally to end our meal, we couldn't leave without dessert...there's always room! Okay Eureka is so cool, and you know what's even cooler, our waitress Sky. We had a reservation and typically you can reserve online but we had to call to reserve for a big party. It was easy peasy. It's located in the beautiful Bressi ranch area. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the restaurant is loungey and cozy at the same time. Not too loungey to be kid inappropriate and not too cozy either. Celebrated a birthday dinner and was happy to see they offered delicious desserts such as the peanut butter cake which was the fav of the table. They have an extensive but not overwhelming menu. They do have plenty of drink offerings including mocktails, whiskey , soda, and wine. Love the variety of burgers they have. We ordered different types and were able to cut into quarters to share. The fav of the table was the fig but I still root and hold it down for the bacon jalapeño. I love the mixture of sweet and savory. Appetizers that were delicious include the Korean frachos and Brussel sprouts. We had never been here before but had an hour ish to spare before my wife needed to head to work. Came in on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but got seated right away. I opted for fish tacos because they sounded delicious. Before the tacos came I scarfed down some fried pickles and they were great , especially with the garlic sauce they come with . Shortly after my fish tacos arrived and sadly, the fish was lukewarm at best . The flavor on everything else was great , so I know the taco has potential but sending out cold fish is not a good 1st impression. My wife had the bacon jam burger and had nothing but good things to say . She did ask for medium and it came more cooked than that so just watch what you ask for . I would say minus the issue with the tacos it was good . It's a little on the expensive side imo but these days everything in California is expensive lol. The one thing I really like here is that there are many food choices for people with special diets. I was not terribly fond of the lavender ice tea. I don't use sugar or sweetener. I was told that it had very little agave. It had more than a little. It was also way more expensive than a regular ice tea and the server didn't make any mention of this. There should have been a warning. The protein bowl was surprisingly good. It had many things that are good for my special diet and changing something was not a problem. Restaurants that have any spice in the food, like this one, should warn the customer that there is spice and offer to leave it our or tone it done if possible. This is a very pleasant indoor/outdoor space. The outdoor seating is covered to protect from the sun. The indoor space is very comfortable too. read more

Was over in the area and decided to stop by for lunch with my mom, hadn't been in a few years. It was very busy, we sat inside since it was a little chilly outside. The woman who sat us was so nice and welcoming. Our server was Larissa and she was there quickly after we were seated, took our drink order and enthusiastically told us about the new lunch special menu with $13 meals. My mom had the grilled chicken club which was HUGE! I had the blackened shrimp tacos which were full of shrimp and delicious. Both came with fries. Ordered two takeout salmon entrees and was not disappointed. Fish was cooked well, not overdone, and portions were decent. Takeout process was smooth and easy on a very rainy evening. Sides were included in the same box as the entree (fries and salad and fish in the same box got kind of got soggy), but other than that, will be back and extending some grace for the takeout factor. Parking was easy, although it was late night so not sure how it is during the day. Staff was friendly and down to earth, ambience had good vibes and lighting. First time at this location, my past visits were at UTC, La Jolla. The place is a little hidden away but plenty of parking. The bartender Sophia was excellent and made great drinks, cadillac margs for me and cosmo's for my friend. We didn't eat but she was very helpful explaining the menu. Eureka very close to lego land and hotels nearby. Situated in a nice complex with outdoor and indoor seating. Large open space with plenty of tables to accommodate any party size. Service was very nice with our waitress who was very kind and easy person to talk . She was so cool and accommodating. Very pleased with service. The food was very good everyone in out party enjoyed the food. I ordered the bbq bacon burger well done patty and it was delicious and paired with their house fries was even better. My wife enjoyed her eureka burger and side of street corn. My daughter had their chicken bites and fries. She actually ate most of her chicken bites and shared them with our friend's kids. Which is a big plus as they can be a bit picky. All in all had a very good time and experience at eureka and the food was fantastic along with the service. We are visiting from out of town and wanted to have a nice relaxing dinner after a 7 hour drive. This place fit the bill! Our server, Joey was so pleasant and attentive. I ordered the protein bowl with salmon and Joey recommended the blackened salmon on it, and it was wonderful! My husband ordered a Philly sandwich and he said it was comparable to the one he had in Philadelphia! They had a drink special of Moscow mules, and Joey explained how they were made actually different from other places more fresh ingredients. We were in! And they were great! Jenna the assistant manager walked around and checked on people to see how they were doing and I thought that was a nice addition to our great dining experience. The outside dining are was lovely with a beautiful fire pit. The food was wonderful, but the service was amazing! I just wanted to write a short update to my review from last year. Their Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich is still my favorite anywhere, but I recently tried their Double Smash Burger (with added bacon) and it was delicious! I had mine with the onion rings instead of the fries and those were really crispy and also excellent. My wife tried the Fresno Fig Burger for the first time, and loved her dish as well. My wife also tried a seasonal drink special they had which was a Gingerbread Man Old Fashioned, and she found it surprisingly good. They even made the ice cube it it shaped like a Gingerbread Man which was a neat extra touch. We usually also lover their outdoor patio area when it's nice outside. It's very casual and is also dog friendly, and family friendly. Service is also still always excellent there! read more

I was craving burgers in North County and came with a big group of 8. We called ahead around 10 am to reserve a table same day at 12:00 pm and they had our table ready when we arrived - no wait. Service was great from the get-go. As soon as we walked in we were greeted warmly by the two hostesses. Our server was attentive and efficient. She refilled our drinks without us asking and brought new water pitchers regularly. I ordered a BBQ Bacon burger ($18.50) which came with shoestring onions, bacon, cheddar, and beer bbq sauce and fries on the side. The front desk clerk at our hotel recommended Eureka when we arrived around 10pm and wanted to unwind a bit. GREAT recommendation! I honestly couldn't believe we'd found a spot like that so close to our hotel. So good that we went there BOTH nights around 9 or 10pm when we were in town. I don't really enjoy regular bar drinks and wasn't that excited to go to Eureka until I sat down and looked at the drink menu. This is my kind of place....plus the food (appetizers & desserts) were great too. Items we tried were fried pickles, onion rings, dry-rub wings, cheesecake, turtle pie and carrot cake. The fried pickles were probably the best I've had. Crisp and delicious batter. The Eureka dry rub is definitely the way to go. I still crave them! Desserts were great too but I was buzzed eating them back at the hotel so you know..... Drinks we tried: Pineapple Tequila Sour, Headhunter King and Wild Child. The first night I ordered and LOVED the Pineapple Tequila Sour and my husband ordered the Headhunter King which he didn't like at all so guess what? I drank it and enjoyed it and he had a spiced rum and coke. LOL The second night I had a couple of Wild Childs. OMG, they are amazing. I wish I could find that drink here in Tucson. My boring husband had more rum & cokes, The environment at Eureka is great. We did sit at the bar both nights and that bar is hoppin'! I like that there is so much outdoor space too which allows families to enjoy themselves and let the kids have room to have fun. Eureka is a great spot and I highly recommend it. Loved this place for years! They always have a great selection of cocktails, wines, and beer. During my recent visit I had the big island daiquiri and it was delectable! Not overly sweet but a great blend of rum and Ube. Couldn't ask for anything better. While I've always had great service here, our recent server was extremely kind and attentive. She also gave great recs! I ended up ordering the spicy chicken sandwich and my husband had the jalapeño egg burger. We did start out with their delicious truffle fries. They did pair the fries with their white truffle cheese sauce. It was a combo made in heaven. I really enjoyed my spicy chicken sandwich. Definitely wasn't too spicy or anything just pretty good. The truffle cheese fries (which I got as a side) ended up being the best part of the meal--super flavorful and definitely worth ordering on their own. Unfortunately, the Napa chicken sandwich was underwhelming. The chicken itself lacked flavor and the bread was so heavy it overpowered everything else. I also ordered sweet potato fries, but they came out way too dark and almost overcooked . Overall, the food was pretty mediocre. On the plus side, service was quick and they do have a solid variety of craft beers to choose from, which might make it a better spot for drinks than for the food. read more

A group of us dined at Eureka for the first time last night. The food was good, the drinks were tasty, and our main server Reece was great -- kind, attentive, and exactly what you'd want in a hospitality professional. Unfortunately, another employee named Cam completely changed the experience. Less than five minutes after our entrees were delivered, she came to our table asking if we had finished plates because the kitchen was closing and "needed them back," despite the bar still being full and other tables still dining. We felt rushed mid-meal. Shortly after, she came by with the check while we were still eating and was abrupt and pushy about payment, making one person in our group feel uncomfortable enough to hand over his card just to end the interaction. When we later explained that we understood they were closing soon but felt very rushed and that her approach came across as rude, she acknowledged our concern, but her tone felt dismissive rather than genuinely caring. Reece did a great job, and the food was good -- but the service from Cam left all of us walking out with a sour taste. It's a bummer, as this would have likely been a regular spot for us otherwise. read more

The presentation was horrible and so disappointed I did speak with the manager and she apologized and said I would get a email gift card but never received it. My daughter & I had Fresno Fig burger with goat cheese & fig preserves. Mine was on GF bun which was good for GF. Didn't fall apart like some. I ordered the goat cheese salad and it was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced--honestly one of the best salads I've had in a while. The kids went with cheeseburgers and loved them, which is always a win when dining as a family. I had one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. The restaurant has a very open layout, so you can see almost everything that's happening. We were seated in one section, but for some reason were assigned a server who wasn't even working our area. We ordered our food and then waited over an hour. During that entire time, we could clearly see our server laughing with coworkers, showing something on her phone to the host, and chatting instead of checking on our table. Everyone around us who arrived well after we did got their food before us. There was also a male waiter working nearby who saw us sitting there with empty cups and no food for a long time and didn't even bother to ask if we needed anything. Not once did anyone update us or check on us. When she finally came over, she asked, "Oh, you guys already ate?" At that point, it had been so long since she had checked on us that the question felt ridiculous. If she had checked on us even once every 20 minutes--at a bare minimum--she would have known we hadn't eaten, that we were still waiting, and that we needed attention. Instead, we had to tell her we hadn't even received our appetizer yet. Eventually our food arrived, and it was cold. My sister didn't want to make a scene, so she only asked for her fries to be replaced. My burger was lukewarm. It must have been sitting under a heat lamp because only the top bun was warm while the rest of the burger was cold. Then came the icing on the cake. When I selected a $5 tip on the payment screen, she visibly scoffed at it. After making us wait over an hour, forgetting our appetizer, bringing out cold food, and barely checking on us, acting offended by a tip was unbelievable. At that point, I was livid. Honestly, I want my five dollars back. Spending around $100 for cold food after waiting over an hour with virtually no service is unacceptable. Mistakes happen, but the lack of communication and complete lack of attention to our table made the experience even worse. I expected much better. The only positive thing I can say is that the beers were cold. Next time, I'd rather go next door for pizza. The owner there is friendly, actually checks on customers, and makes you feel welcome. read more

I recently visited Eureka! in Carlsbad. While the vibe of the place was fantastic, I was a tad disappointed in the appetizer serving sizes. The energy is amazing--- you can see the crowds sitting outside with "campfire" ambiance. The interior is dim (which I like) and decor is minimalist with a woodsy feel. I did have a bit of a challenge with the loud music. The volume was so high that it made it tough to have a conversation with the waitress (which caused a couple orders were missed) which took away from the overall dining experience. The waitress was superb apologetic that she swung by more often to recheck on us. That said, the food was definitely a highlight. The burger selection was creative and flavorful. The four salads options solid to please everyone. It's a great spot if you're looking for good food and a lively atmosphere, but be prepared for a bit of noise. We ordered a couple salads to share - Steak and Seared Ahi. Both were delicious. The only complaint on the Grilled Broccolini was that the portion was too, too small. We got 6 stems of broccolini. My favorite were truffles fries and mac-and-cheese fried balls. There is a kick (thinks there's a bits of jalapeño) in those mac and cheese. Skip the desserts --the bourbon chocolate and carrot cake was not good. Pricey for small portion, too. read more

Came on a Friday night at 5:45ish. Was told it would be a 25 minute wait, so we got our kids some pizza from next door. We got a text pretty quickly that our table was ready. We ordered sprites for the kids, a beer for the hubby, and a wild child cocktail for myself. We also ordered fried pickles. The fried pickles came out almost immediately. About 2 minutes. They were pretty salty, but the family ate all of them. The adult drinks came out WAY before the sprites. We had to ask our waiter where the kid's drinks were because they kept complaining about how thirsty they were. The wild child drink was very tasty. For our entrees we ordered the eureka burger and the black and blue burger. The fries were super salty and we did not finish them. Both burgers were really good, but they took 40 minutes to come out. I know because I received a text right as I was ordering and checked my watch when the food finally came out. I feel like 40 minutes is way too long to wait for a burger. I'm glad my kids ate already or they would have been having a fit! Overall, the burger and drinks were good. The fried pickles and fries were too salty and the food took way too long to come out. This is the best service I've had at a restaurant and I wasn't even dining in! I ordered to-go and was greeted by multiple people when I walked in. I requested a side sauce and two people said they would get it. The food was packaged well and it was good as usual. My friend and I have been here for happy hour several times and the service is usually good ..buy if it's busy there might be a wait...I wanted to try something other than a burger so went with fish tacos..I don't know what I was expecting from a place that isn't Mexican but the fish was good however the salsa and slaw underneath were underwhelming..very tiny bits of pineapple ..the corn side which cost me 2 more dollars..was just ok...flavor was bland and it was cold. My friend went for the happy hour burger even though in the past she's been unhappy with how it's cooked.
