I forgot the name but we ordered the really large breakfast platter for my kids to share & everything on it was either cold or soggy. My family and I were looking to grab brunch while in the area for Legoland. Since we weren't familiar with the area, we turned to Yelp and found this place. There were plenty of restaurants near the beach, and as much as we would have loved to enjoy the scenery, we were limited on time and concerned about parking, so we decided to give this place a try. Honestly, we probably should have walked out as soon as we walked in. The host was not welcoming at all. He was scrolling on his phone when we entered, which by itself wasn't a huge deal, but what bothered me was that he didn't greet us or acknowledge us--he simply stared at us. I left the interaction feeling uncomfortable and, to be honest, wondered if we were being judged based on our appearance or race. There was only one server working, which I completely understand can happen when a restaurant is short-staffed. However, the server never acknowledged us or even let us know that he would be with us shortly. We eventually had to flag down the host to let him know that we were ready to order. The host told us our server will take our order. You would think the host will tell the server we were ready but nope he didn't. The server passed by our table at least five times before finally coming over. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the lack of customer service. It was mediocre and nothing particularly special or memorable. The dishes were very basic and tasted like something that could easily be made at home. There was nothing that stood out to me. The server didn't bother to check on us to see how things were going or if we needed anything. Maybe the poor customer service impacted my overall impression of the food, but the entire experience was disappointing. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this place. read more

My husband and I had brunch here on a Friday morning. We were seated inside. The tables looked clean but sticky for some reason. I ordered decaf coffee and my husband had black coffee. I ordered a make-my-own omelette (5 toppings to choose) with egg white, light Swiss cheese, spinach, mushrooms, onions, and turkey sausage w/ hash brown for my side. My husband had the Easy Morning with egg white, turkey, sausage, and hash brown. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Aside from the presentation, I enjoyed the flavor of my omelette that I didn't need additional seasonings. My husband's was content with his dish. Our meal was about $50 w/o tip. Situated by a park and occupying a strip mall full of other dining choices it was a nice place. Easy to park. Lots of outdoor seating. Friendly enough hostess. Very nice server. Clean. I thought the menu was a great variety. My friend ordered the The Mug Chilakiles and her mom ordered the ORO Pancakes. The Chilakiles were great!!! The flavors were really good and the green salsa had just the right amount of punch! I liked the pancakes as well but my friend thought they were a little dry. I would definitely recommend. Oh! Not a good experience. The table that we sat at was sticky. The varnish was not 100% cured. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, eggs over easy, hash browns, and bacon. What I got was a very small biscuit with two tablespoons of gravy, two eggs not fully cooked, hash browns, and no bacon. Gravy had a bad taste to it. My son ordered a hamburger. What he got was two buns and a meat patty. He asked the waitress to please add some mayonnaise and lettuce. My wife ordered French toast. The bread was over heated in the microwave and was not easy to chew. The ice tea had a bad taste to it as if it had been mixed with coffee. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Super cute little patio area. A surprise little food area in the heart of business buildings. Staff was incredibly sweet checking on us often. I got eggs rancheros with their potatoes. My husband ordered the Sonora omelette, and the chorizo was burnt way overdone. He asked for hashbrowns well done, and got hashbrowns that were barely done. Staff did not check in if I needed anything with my meal. Place was not busy at all. There were a few tables with customers but no one was requesting anything. I ordered an omelette and 10/10 times at any sit down restaurant I've been to the waiter/waitress asks if I need anything else. I also ordered a regular drip coffee and not once did anyone come by and offer to pour me a refill. Even asking if I would like my cup topped off shouldn't be a question and that goes back to when I was a kid and hearing family & friends tell me that pouring coffee refills is part of excellent service should not be new in the customer service realm. Did this change overnight? If this is your restaurant policy then I wasn't aware. I give a rating of 3/5 because at least the omelette with the black beans I ordered was good. So it took us like 15 minutes to order, when she finally showed up, she said that they have only 1 cook and he is working on the order of 6 people, so it would put us behind on our order. For a breakfast place, this has a few major shortcomings: 1) the hash browns are inedible. It's like thin frozen patties that were reheated. No flavor, no crisp. Just blah. 2) no coffee options other than just coffee. No barista, no specialty drinks. There are so many other places nearby that at least offer a more robust coffee menu. 3) avocado toast is served on basically white bread. Not sure where this sourdough is from, but it was flavorless and under toasted, making the entire dish a bit soggy. Not what you want from avocado toast. I won't be back, especially since there are better options around. EDIT: The rude response from the owner is all the more reason to take your business elsewhere. Don't blame the patrons of the business for not asking for bread choices or sending back the food (I did ask for the hash browns to be extra crispy, but they were still soggy in the middle). Restaurant ownership requires the ability to take feedback and make things better, not be condescending to the customer who wrote a review. read more

Pretty sure i was the only customer around, they had only one order to make when i was present. I ordered to go but just went to a nearby park to eat, so the food did not sit for more than 3-5 minutes before it was opened. Apparently this is their idea of "extra crispy" hash browns. Also probably the worst biscuits and gravy i have ever tasted. Most biscuits and gravy kindof just is what it is, with some restaraunts actually creating something above and beyond. I think this is the first time ive ever actually disliked this dish anywhere. Plus they burned the biscuits. The staff were very friendly. 5 stars for the staff. Having said that, our breakfast was awful. My husband and I both ordered the biscuits and gravy. (Having eaten Southern biscuits and gravy my whole life, I know what it should taste like). I don't think I have ever seen tasted gravy like that! It was a very strong and odd tasting gravy. The flavor was unusual, reminded me of a wild mushroom gravy, something you might serve over a hamburger patty. Because you would never pour that over a good steak. (Although we wouldn't have eaten it no matter how it was served). My husband will eat just about anything. But he absolutely hated it. We couldn't even finish it. The eggs were overcooked. The hash browns we ok. My husband said the coffee was very good. I don't think we will ever return. 0 stars for the food. After reading your response to my review I want to say a couple of things. Ambience was nice and calm we came on a Friday around 10:30am I ordered the ORO pancakes that are supposed to be to have port wine infused strawberries layers and a white creme sauce . Unfortunately strawberries weren't infused they were plain so that made pancakes kinda dry . White creme sauce tasted like a watered down condensed milk. It had a light taste not too sweet. I think if they would have add some of that in the layers it wouldn't have been so dry, after a few bites I decided to use all the pancake syrup and cream the whip topping all over it . Which I never use that much syrup,Couldn't finish them all still too dry. Presentation was gorgeous , I regret not bringing it to the attention of the waitress ( cook must of just forgot tom use the infused strawberries ?) , but I already had to ask for a new coffee as my cup had bright pink lipstick on it. Hate being that customer that nit picks. Especially she was the only waitress I saw and was really doing a good job ! I Will definitely speak up next time. Luckily I have learn to check my cups and glasses before drinking as I know how sticky our lipsticks can be. She was very apologetic and brought me a new coffee. We had a great meal here. I had had the Country Breakfast, and it came with duck breast that was fantastic. I also had the biscuit with gravy, which was pretty darned good, and my folks are from Alabama so I've had plenty of biscuits and gravy during my life! My wife had the caprice omelet and thought it was great. Everything is fresh here, and Paola made sure to check on us frequently.
