Delish. The food was great and the service was even better. I had the corned beef hash and it was excellent. Crispy hash browns and flavor corned beef. We also were told about their famous coffee cake ($3.49) came out warm and moist. Hubby got the famous banana crunch French toast and it was so indulgent. Not too sweet and super filling. Kids menus were super generous and a great price. 5 of us ate (3 adults and 2 kids) and it was a bit under $100 before tip.

Great choice for breakfast in the heart of Oceanside Very hearty breakfasts Fast & friendly service. Festive beach decor. Very busy spot. You will likely have to wait a bit during peak hours. Small parking lot & street parking. May have to look a little. Delicious food & large portions. We had omelets which were yummy. Too much icing on the cinnamon roll for me. Booths, tables or counter seats. No outside dining available.

The portions were insanely massive. Maybe order to share? The wait wasn't too bad but we went closer to closing. Service was nice and pleasant! A classic cafe diner with locals. Overall pretty good and just a vibe! Food was tasty from what I remember. Maybe a little too salty and sweet but after a vacation that might be what you want!

First time here to one of our friends' favorite breakfast spots. Seated right away on a Monday morning on the back porch. I saw potato pancakes and coffee cake on the menu so wanted to try a breakfast item. When I think potato pancakes I think either shredded or mashed potatoes with mix ins to hold them together. BBC's version was sort of like that but the potatoes were too hard and not seasoned much. Coffee cake was warm and tender. Next time I'll go with the extra crispy hash browns that others ordered.

Love this place, service is great and very fast. I was told wait would be 20 mins but it was under 10. Smaller parking lot, so be patient or go before 10am. Staff are nice and different staff to take order, bring out foods and clean your dishes. Must order Coffee Cake, it's soft and fluffy. Topped with glaze which is not overly sweet. 5/5 Killer Burrito comes with a side, which I recommend the potatoes. Homemade soft potatoes and great seasoning. Burrito has scoop of sour cream and guacamole on top. Second time ordering this burrito. 5/5 I wish this place was in Orange County

Late breakfast, early lunch, we will call it brunch. There were 6 of us and we were given a comfortable booth towards the back of the restaurant. Drink order taken followed by the food order. Everyone opted for breakfast: I ordered the ABC Omelette with crispy hash browns and rye toast, my wife ordered the eggs with hash browns and a slice of coffee cake, my daughter ordered the beach break toast with 2 eggs and a bowl of fruit, my son-in-law opted for the scramblatta with hash browns and tortilla, youngest granddaughter had the short stack of pancakes and oldest granddaughter had the French toast with a side of bacon. Pretty much every plate was cleared but the youngest who only managed to devour half her pancakes with the other half boxed to go. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and portions were generous. The entire bill which also included 2 coffees and a juice came to about $139 which did include tax and 20% tip. Good price in California. Service was outstanding. The restaurant was full yet orders were expedited quickly and servers were friendly and personable. I highly recommend Beach Break Cafe for breakfast, lunch or like in our case brunch. It was 5 star outstanding.

There's a reason this place has reviews like that. I'm not a big breakfast food fan but this definitely made me one. The corned beef hash had GENEROUS amount of beef. Not overloaded with carbs. I loved every bite. And biscuits and gravy were phenomenal as well. The coffee cake is a little sweet but that's my personal preference. The cake itself was very moist. Would definitely come back every time we go to SD.

Parking lot is small. Portions are a good size, but food was just okay. Restaurant is big, with outdoor seating and surf theme is cool. I've been here before and the food was amazing, but today it lacked flavor and wait staff weren't that friendly. Gave them 4 stars because of all of my experiences here, but my last trip was really just a 3 star. Coffee cake is a must and the killer burrito is my go to order.

I used to be a big brunch person but over the years I have had a lot of disappointing experiences. Now it's rare I go anymore. A friend had a doctors appointment she needed a ride to so I happily obliged. After the appointment she wanted to go get breakfast and this was her choice. I have always heard good things about beach break, but it's a little bit out of the way from where I live so I've never made it there. There was one space left in the lot when we arrived, perfect. When we walked in, it wasn't too busy there was plenty of seating and no line.. We waited a few minutes but it was fun taking in all the surf/skate decor. We were seated in a big cushy booth and coffee was offered immediately. We both obliged. The menu is pretty extensive so we did have a bit of a hard time deciding everything sounds so good. Prices are reasonable comparably. Our server came back to check on us multiple times while we were trying to decide. Finally, we decided to split the Greek omelet and for our two sides, we each got a piece of coffee cake that my friend had raved about. While we waited, I continued to look around at all the different memorabilia on the wall walls. It's very cool. Our food came quickly and it was very tasty. The omelette had just the right amount of tomatoes and herbs and cheese. While the coffee cake was absolutely as she had described. It was a nice size as well. Our server kept our coffee full and continued to check on us. All in all it was an enjoyable experience and I will definitely come back here for breakfast brunch again I can't believe I waited so long.

This place has a nice chill vibe. The menu is large as well so lots of options. I enjoyed my omelette. Nothing spectacular but decent food. Overall a great place in a good location. Service was also good.

Everything was good, as always except we didn't care for the potato pancakes. Nothing changes here... I love that!

Do they serve, gluten-free pancakes, gluten-free French toast, or gluten-free waffles?

I've never seen anything on the menu or the specials board for gluten free option for waffles, French toast or Pancakes. I'm sure there is something on their great menu that is gluten free and will satisfy your hunger! Enjoy!!

I smiled and commented on the donuts and that broke their gossipy reverie. One immediately walked away like she couldn't be bothered to work, only a paid gossiper. There was no one in the store other than me. She rung me up with a flat attitude like she just got out of jail and was miserable. Her name is Bre. I ordered a dirty chai. With two other items. She wouldn't give a to go box like they usually do. It came off super cheap. She told me to just cover it with a lid even tho I told her I had a dog in the car that would eat it and it was chocolate sprinkle. Traditionally they stop and make the coffee and then move on to the next guest. She was in a really bad mood so she kept taking donut orders until about 5 guests deep. Then she got 2 other coffee orders so she stopped to make coffee. About 10 to 15 minutes after I paid for my other order she makes my dirty chai. A kid and a mom are right by the counter. The kid grabs my drink and spills it on the counter and on the floor. She sees this. It's right in front of her. She says oh no that's not yours. Then she wipes it off and tries to pass it off to me like I didn't see. I said no, you're not going to re make it? She goes no, it's not my fault he spilled it. I was like I want a refund. She goes why. I'm like the drink spilled and you didn't even offer or try to remake it. This place had really gone downhill. Service is awful. The donuts look nice but they've been sitting out and are stale. The same with crossaint I had. I would not go back here anymore. Awful experience. Drove out of my way to come here today. It's a shame. This place used to be really friendly and fresh and top of the line customer service, Management needs to rework things before they completely go downhill but it seems they are already there.

But it looks like there's some seasonal coffees too. Friendly hello when it was my turn. Me: So what do you think, butterscotch or pistachio? He: I would say pistachio because sometimes the butterscotch is too sweet for some. Pistachio it was! So definitely inquire about the seasonal coffees because this was delicious! Great flavor and dark chocolate shavings on top. This helped keep me awake on my long drive home! Love that they're local! Also bought The Colores blend which they happily ground for me, and it is really good! Mellow flavor with a hint of dark chocolate finish. The coconut flavor was absolutely delicious, but personally, I wanted a stronger matcha presence - it leaned a little too milky for my taste. If you're more into creamy tropical drinks, though, you'll probably love it. The surprise winner for me was the Campfire Latte. I'm usually not a mocha girl, but this one totally changed my mind. I ordered it half sweet, and it was perfect - smooth and balanced! The spiced dark chocolate paired so well with the marshmallow cold foam and graham cracker topping, and I especially loved the warm spices throughout the drink. Next time, I could definitely see myself ordering a cold brew with that marshmallow foam. Not pictured: the ham & cheese croissant, which is a must-order every single time I'm here. Flaky, savory, and consistently one of my favorites. Good seasonal specials and great food as always!
