I don't live in Oceanside, but found myself there finishing up a job. It was 2pm and I hadn't eaten, but I didn't want to stoop for fast food. I drop a few miles east of the freeway but was finding nothing. As I was driving, I randomly spotted two dudes sitting and eating at the side of a tire shop, at least that's what it looked like at first. Looking closer, I see the sign, "Come On Over Cafe". I thought, I just might! Pulled over and pulled up the internet and man, this could work out. As I found the place, it was next to a tire shop but it's it own deal. The menu looked great, but I was HUNGRY. 2 items stood out to my taste buds, either the Tuna Melt or the Italian sandwich. I asked the guy at the counter for his recommendation and he (and the lady) both offered their input. I pulled the trigger on the Italian, hot style. When I say that this sandwich slapped, I mean, it hit on at least 5 levels. Every sauce, ingredient, combination was 10/10. The bun was great, the meat was great, the sauces, I mean, I was blown away. I absolutely want to come back hear for a breakfast item. This was an absolute gem of a find. And to Cami B, who left a 1 star review claiming all the other reviewers are "extremely biased", that's how reviews work, Einstein! I'm biased towards quality, good taste and decent people. This is a great local spot attached to a tire store. So get your tires and some food while you wait. Just so you know, this is on Industry road, behind Oceanside blvd. It's not directly on Oceanside blvd. They have plenty of tables and chairs inside and out. You are allowed to bring your pup for the outside porch. They have a limited breakfast menu, but with some good options. I got the bacon Swiss, which was eggs, bacon, Swiss, and sun dried tomatoes on a croissant, which tasted really good. I got a bag of kettle chips to go with it. The staff here were really pleasant. Great local spot for a good price. read more

Overdue review for a breakfast sandwich. We went one month ago and wanted to try one of their sandwiches. It was in the morning so egg sounded good and luckily, they had a crossaint breakfast sandwich! It came with a hot sauce on the side which I was happy to see we agree that hot sauce is required on a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was tasty, but honestly nothing super special, just good. Came here for lunch while having my cars alignment done at Conover shop. - The Turkey BLT we got was truly 10/10 taste plus great portion size and the patio area was a lovely perfect area to bring some coloring books and crafts for my toddler. - The staff was very friendly and accommodating to us! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the reviews on here seem extremely biased. I would not recommend giving this place your money. I really couldn't understand how this café had so many positive reviews, but after reading through them more closely, it seems that many are from friends or people who know the owners. The man working the front was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Halfway through placing my order, I was so uncomfortable with the way I was being treated that I asked him to cancel it and left. He acted like taking my order was a burden and made the entire interaction unpleasant. I work as a server myself, and I would never treat a customer with the level of disrespect and dismissiveness that I experienced here. I also happened to meet a friend who had ordered before me, and he independently mentioned that the same employee had been extremely rude to him, so this clearly wasn't just a one-time interaction. I've never left a review before, but I felt strongly enough about this experience that I wanted to warn other customers. Customer service like this is completely unacceptable. If you're going to run a business, please learn how to treat your customers with basic kindness and respect. read more

Living in North County San Diego, there are about a million places to get a breakfast burrito--and don't get me wrong, I LOVE breakfast burritos. I could eat one almost every day. But sometimes, the only thing I want in the morning is a good breakfast bagel sandwich. Unfortunately, finding one in Oceanside or even Carlsbad has been way harder than it should be. We've looked everywhere and have never really found a place that nailed it. There's a few spots downtown, but nothing to write home about. Also, the highly marketed "Pop-Up Bagels" has quality/tasty bagels, but no bagel sandwiches. I'm sorry, daddy needs more than just carbs for breakfast. I'm an adult. Then we found Come On Over Cafe, and I realized that I was once lost, and now I am found. They've cracked the code with something so simple: a quality bagel with bacon, egg, cheese, and avocado. That's it. That's all I need. And somehow, it's surprisingly hard to find around here. If this place ever gets on DoorDash, I will budget for 30% of my income toward their breakfast bagels. So glad we found this spot. The crazy part is, I genuinely think they would absolutely crush it with a bigger or more visible location. I'm convinced they could still be profitable if they leased the entire Oceanside Police Department location on Mission Avenue if they wanted. Where do I invest? How do we expand? I came in completely by accident as I was early for the auto service center attached to the cafe. I believe I got there right as the cafe was opening. After a quick perusal of the menu I decided on the Breakfast Sammie. It comes on your choice of bagel and with your choice of cheese. I opted for cheddar on an Everything bagel with bacon. The bagel was great? Fresh and tasty. I'm not sure if they make them or buy them, but someone is doing a great job baking them. The eggs were fluffy and there was no shortage of bacon to be found on my sandwich. Self serve water station was perfect and fully stocked with cold water, cups, and all the things you'd want if you'd ordered coffee, to doctor it up. My Sammie came out after a brief wait, long enough that I can tell it wasn't reheated in a microwave, but not so long that it seemed excessive. Overall I was pleasantly surprised at a total accidental find, and I was treated well and the food and service was well above average. I'll be back to try something else, maybe something off the lunch menu. I'll also hate to try some of the caffeinated beverages in the near future! read more

Heard these guys were ranked 15th out of the 100 best sandwich spots in the nation by Yelp so of course we had to try it for National Sandwich Month (August). My daughter and I stopped in right before closing around 1:30pm-ish and ordered the Chicken Pesto and Chicken Bacon Ranch Avocado sammiches. It took some time for them to make them, but once they were ready, they walked them over to use neatly packed inside to-go containers. That was really nice. Once we got home and tried a few bites, we were hooked. Both were excellent and we could only eat half the sandwich before we were full. The photos make the sammiches look small but they are not. They contents are dense and rich. This is a meal, and only $11 which is amazing. I wished I would have tried some of their coffee but now I just need to come back and try more of the menu anyway :-) read more

When we arrived at 12pm the owner had said they already sold out of everything, which to me is really surprising since usually 12pm lunch on a Saturday is peak hours. Such a crazy cool concept! I loved that it was located in an old mechanic shop, and this place had such a cool vibe too. I ordered a build your own that featured turkey and bacon and some avocado. Before we even walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest rescue cat, who I later learned is actually a local celebrity. I had their tuna melt sandwich with turkey added, which was very generous. It came with pickles on the side as well. Haven't had a tuna melt in years, and the first (and sequential) bites were decadent. I mentioned to my SO that potato chips would go really well inside the sandwich to give it a salty crunch, and lo and behold, a bag of Hawaiian kettle chips may or may not have appeared at our table because of the A1 customer service.
