Le Jambon Fromage Sandwich Iced Oat Milk Latte
Jeremy S.

Cute little French cafe located right in the north end of carlsbad village, about a block from the beach. Nice Selection of sandwiches, coffee, crepes and pastries. Service is pretty average but overall a great spot to get your grub on.

We ate lunch at French Corner today and fell in love with this quaint little place that serves up delicious food with a lovely outdoor sitting area overlooking Carlsbad Boulevard. I had La Dinde savory crepe and it was delightful, while my husband thoroughly enjoyed a Jambon Beurre Baguette sandwich. The staff are friendly and did a great job with the food. They have a wide variety of pastries and desserts and various quiches that we will be back to sample, too. Thank you for a great midday meal. We are so happy to have found you!

Nice quaint place at a corner street. Very informal and you get to choose your seat. The way they do it is you go to the counter and choose your order placed on the board then they'll give you a number. Surprisingly I didn't have to wait for my order. It was quick. I got the eggs with veggie crepes. It was delightful and light. I will definitely come back and try other foods they have.

In honor of "International Women's Day", we feel it is important to support women owned businesses (not only this day, but also on a regular basis) and it is that desire that led us to the "French Corner." Everything about this place intentionally seeks to provide you with a little taste of Paris during your visit. You'll need to "parle a little francais" while ordering because the menu items have had French names bestowed upon them. You may also notice that all of the music playing in the background features exclusively French vocalists. After we enjoyed both the Breakfast Croissant and the Breakfast Crepe (which was particularly "tres bien") we found ourselves simultaneously wondering when we'll get our first opportunity to invite family and friends to enjoy this place with us. Their location is conveniently situated near the heart of the Carlsbad Village to provide you with the opportunity for a leisurely stroll before or after your meal. And that's...Henry's Take. #internationalwomensday #frenchcornercarlsbad

Clean and breezy. Items in the case looked very appealing. Person at the front counter was not the kindest. I would come back, just for the food.

Potato ham quiche

Exactly what you'd like for a French cafe. I had the quiche with potato's and ham it's really good but definitely put some hot sauce if you are looking for more flavor. It came with a miniature mixed green salad. The dressing that came with was perfection. Almost a mustardy/balsamic vibe. The outdoor seating is a great hangout and relaxing. The cashier helped me decide on more popular options. In n out within 15

There is some street parking out front, if you get lucky. Nice inside and some French style music playing, gave me an Emily in Paris vibe. The staff was nice and very quick to take and make the order. They have a large menu with plenty of options - everything from crepes, to coffee cake, eclairs, Mochas, etc. I will be stopping in again to try some of the crepes but today was just Mocha and coffee cake. I was disappointed with the coffee cake. It was flavorful but dry, I like it more moist. It looks great but I will try some other desserts next time.

The savory crepe with turkey and aged cheese was mouthwatering. The banana crepe was okay. Cute lil place. The service was great. Very expensive for what it is tho.

The cashier was very friendly and helpful, I wanted to make a chance to the drink I got because I didn't love everything listed and she was very patient with ensuring my order was how I wanted. The place itself is very clean and in a nice spot in town. You can sit indoor and out which is perfect for a nice beach day. The food was simple and isn't really anything special which is nice if you're just looking for a quick bite to eat like we were.

La Dinde Crepe

We had a great time here! The vibe is French and relaxed. Brunch here reminded me of the perfect Sunday morning :) The food was delicious. I ordered La Dinde Crepe which consisted of turkey, pesto, Gruyère and arugula. All crepes come with a side salad which is light and refreshing. The crepes are a large size which matches the approx. $15 price. The restaurant vibe was adorable. The decor matched a cute quaint French bistro. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our food despite the business came out fast. Around 12 pm the cafe started playing French music which was a lovely touch! If you still have room after your meal, there are some delicious desserts offered. We were too full to indulge, but next time we will be prepared!

To say that I have mixed feelings about this establishment is an understatement. It was a rainy day, and I was happy to get inside, but approaching the pastry case, we realize that the majority of the items appear to be more than a day old. The quiche had a very dry and cracked exterior, and the rest of the items did not look fresh. Because of this, we decided to place our orders directly off of the menu and were quite disturbed to see employees, using their bare hands to handle the food along with the young lady at the cash register wearing long, acrylic nails without gloves, which is well known as an OSHA violation. I had ordered the French toast, which ended up being quite bland and very large i. its portion. My daughter ordered a croissant and was very happy with it and my husband ordered a breakfast sandwich that was decent as well. My latte was absolutely fantastic, so I have no complaints there. Near the end of our visit, we noticed that they put out a fresh pumpkin pie so we did not hesitate to place our order as well as for the Millie feuille. Both of which were good, but the fresh pumpkin pie was by far superior with its exquisite cinnamon taste. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I don't think we'll be going back with so many options available be on this.

They're also huge, and you can order them individually. If you want a snack, I say get one taco. If you're feeling really hungry, get three. They come with shredded red and green cabbage, pico de gallo and aioli sauce on top. You can get the fish grilled, but I got them battered, because that is my favorite way to fish taco. Squeeze a little lime over the top, and you're good to go. I didn't get the fish tacos when I visited recently, though. (Sorry, mom.) I got The Terremar, which is a tri-tip sandwich with garlic aioli, shoestring potatoes, arugula and chipotle mayo on a ciabatta roll. It was very tasty, but I wish the steak was a little less tough and chewy! If the meat was a little more tender, this would have been an A+ sandwich, instead of a solid B. My son also did not get the fish tacos, and instead decided to venture into Cafe Topes' breakfast menu, which is available all day until close. He got a short stack of the buttermilk pancakes (two pancakes), which come dusted with powdered sugar and with a giant mound of butter in the middle. He really liked them! He just wanted pancakes, and fortunately, you can order them a la carte. It was a beautiful Carlsbad day -- the perfect day to dine outdoors, and we managed to grab a table on the patio. Seating on the patio seems to be highly sought-after. But the indoor seating is nice, too, because the doors are open and you get the fresh air and beach breeze.

I asked for extra feta (and didn't mind paying for it), and they didn't disappoint. No complaints about the food. Now the not-so-great part... The service was slow. Like... noticeably slow. I sat there waiting long enough to start debating if I should just pay for my drink and go somewhere else. Eventually the server showed up, I ordered, and yeah--the food was good, but the wait kind of killed the vibe. What really didn't sit right with me was waiting forever just to get my check. Someone who came in after me got theirs first, and I'm just sitting there like... I have to get to work.
