Great and fast service every time we've been in. The servers are professional and friendly, and the bartenders are genuinely fun to chat with. The menu has a lot to choose from, and everything we've ordered has been tasty and cooked just right. Highly recommend!

My friends and I came here for Sunday brunch. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and we were seated in a quiet private area. We were a little disappointed that the lunch menu was not offered on a Sunday, so we settled for brunch. I ordered an omelette with poblano, mushroom, and spinach. The order came with a side of roasted potatoes and toast. I was pleased with my dish. The food quality was very good, but service was extremely slow. It took our server over 30 minutes to finally take our orders. We were a party of 8, which wasn't too big. Food for everyone came out at a decent time; however, they must've forgotten my dish because I had to wait a good 10 minutes while my friends already received their food. The server never refilled our water cups and it took forever for him to bring our check.

TLDR: clean, casual spot conveniently located inside the Westin Carlsbad, decent service, indoor/outdoor seating. Dinner and most breakfast items are average and overpriced, but the build-your-own omelette is surprisingly good and worth ordering. We stayed at the Westin and found this restaurant right downstairs, which was super convenient, especially since we had breakfast vouchers from the hotel ($22 per person). The space is clean, airy, and has a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were friendly, though service varied depending on who you got. We stopped by for some light bites one evening and ordered fries, crab cakes, and drinks. Fries were very average, 2/5, and crab cakes were big, just not memorable. Drinks were fine, nothing stood out. For breakfast, day one was a bit disappointing. I had the All-American breakfast, which came with eggs, meat, roasted potatoes, and toast, small portions, and pricey for what you get (2.5/5). My husband's waffle was nearly $20 and just okay, though the jam and granola with yogurt were nice touches. Day two, we both ordered the build-your-own omelette, and that turned things around; it was fresh, flavorful, and much more satisfying. If you eat here, skip the basics and go straight for the omelette.

We opted for the outdoor seating area which offers a nice nearby-ocean breeze compare to the strong AC blasting indoor. Service was slow for breakfast but it could be just our table as I saw others were served much faster than us. Our son's cereal and milk which I wouldn't think need much time to prepare were served after we had already gotten our food. For our food, we got the following: Portobello egg Benedict (4/5)- love that they have this option available for those who do not want English muffins/bread. The eggs were made to perfection and we really liked the flavor earthy of the mushroom and nice balance from the spinach. They could use a bit less oil though... the dish comes with roasted potato which wasn't bad but nothing to rave about. Lox & Bagel (1.5/5) - highly disappointed when the bagel came out. It was nicely assembled but that was it. It was served on a huge plate with just half a bagel and salmon (lox) and fixing on top. Nothing else. We appreciate the generous portion of the lọx but the bagel itself was terrible - my husband called it "hard as a rock" when he took his first bite. We had a hard time cutting it into smaller pieces to eat. It was barely toasted and the bread itself looks like it's undercooked and is extremely dense. I wish they serve it with some veggies on the side, for the meal balance and also the presentation. For our morning elixirs, my husband got the Green Monster (4/5) and I got the Kale-ifornia (5/5) Both are great drinks to start our day. I love my Kale-ifornia, earthy, clean and ends with a kick at the end with the gingery note after each sip. It has a juice consistency, while the Green Monster is more of a smoothie. Unfortunately Green Monster came out warm so that kind of killed the vibe and the taste. It would be 5/5 if it was cold. Also keep in mind they only offer coffee when we were there for breakfast, no latte or cappuccino. We had breakfast at 7 Mile kitchen next door the day before and they did offer other coffee drinks so it was another disappointment with 20|Twenty.

We were staying across the parking lot at another hotel, but went each night for a nightcap. Kristina made the best drinks I have ever had, an espresso martini & a drink she created herself that she called "Pillow talk". Would definitely go back anytime we are in San Diego

Ambience is super super modern, fancy and appealing to the eye. The food was absolutely delicious although it took a lot longer than expected it was totally worth the wait!!! The bullseye steak was sooo good it was one of the best steaks I've ever had juicy, thick, crispy, yummy in my tummy. The mash also absolutely delicious, makes me hungry all over again just thinking about it!! This was my families and I first time but Will definitely be back soon, we have to try there breakfast too! To mention they have free parking right across with a ton of parking very convenient!

The food isn't good @ all. We ordered the ceviche and carding Caesar salad. They were not good @ all, especially for the price. The ceviche is $25 and honestly it was one of the worst ceviche I've ever had. I mean, who puts banana chips in a Ceviche? It just doesn't go. And the salad was.... Eh. The dressing was terrible. Nothing special about for $15. However the drinks were good. Nice bar area. But that's it. Don't think we would go back. Which is too bad because it is a very nice resort but the food has to be up to par. Not ok to charge so much for food.

5 stars for our experience on Saturday with our bartender, Matt! So fun and great at making cocktails. We had such a wonderful time and loved what we ordered: - (2) black smokes - (2) empress me's - (1) cocktail Carlsbad - (1) chicken tender plate Food pricing is what you'd expect for a hotel restaurant/bar, loved the tenders. The drinks were so carefully crafted and very instgrammable. Highly recommend this bar, look for Matt!

After our experience, we were so happy we found Nick's as we visit the area frequently and will be back many more times. The restaurant seemed to be the busiest and chicest in the area with a great crowd and environment. Our drinks were top notch as was all of our food. The tuna tartare was one of the best we've had - and I'm obsessed with tuna tartare. Their chopped salad was also super delicious as was my fish sandwich and my husband's entree as well. Jacob was our server, and he was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. Later, Kaitlyn brought out our butter cake, and what started as a quick interaction turned into one of those unexpected conversations that give you a different perspective and refresh that we all need every once in a while. The food was just as impressive. We started with the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, which was the perfect appetizer. For dinner, we ordered the Center Cut Filet, Cha Cha's Spicy Rigatoni, and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and something we'd happily order again. If you're thinking about dessert, do yourself a favor and order the butter cake. It absolutely lives up to the hype. What stood out most, though, was the people. Working in a restaurant can be overstimulating and exhausting. Everyone we interacted with was kind and welcoming. It's easy to enjoy a great meal, but it's the people who make you want to come back. From the service to the food to the atmosphere, the entire team is doing an incredible job. Thank you to Jacob, Kaitlyn, the manager, kitchen staff, and everyone else who made our evening so enjoyable. We'll definitely be back.

My seat still looked out and had had a great view so same view just more comfortable. I got the beet and peach salad. It didn't really have a dressing but instead came on a bed of caramelized yogurt which acted as the flavor vehicle. It was also topped with frisse, sesame, za'atar, granola and mint. The peach was a nice surprise as it added a nice sweetness, freshness, and texture, I liked when I got a bite of mint, it brightened up the dish. Very unique and different. I also got the house made pastrami Ruben. It came with gruyere cheese, sauerkraut, kimchee, thousand island dressing on rye. The rye was nicely grilled which made it crispy. The pastrami was also grilled which brought out a more salty profile. The kimchee stood out and was a great pairing with the pastrami, it added some spiciness and that fermented funk that you get with sauerkraut. Over all a great sandwich I just wish there was more pastrami. I had the choice of salad or fries but since I got the beet and peach salad I opted for the fries. The fries were triple cooked and came with a truffle ketchup. The fries were cold and I didn't care for the truffle ketchup, I'd ask for aioli next time. Ember & Rye is located on the 18th hole of the Aviara golf course, There's free parking out front but seems like it could fill up during more busy times, like nights or weekends. You can see the touches of creativity from Richard Blais in the dishes. I did see a 3 course prefix menu for $40 which woulda been cheaper than my 2 choices but I wanted to try the pastrami. That's probably the way to go.

The dining rooms and bar overlooked the 18th green which provided a lovely view of the course. There was a dedicated free parking lot on the property for those who wanted to just dine at the restaurant like us. The central bar was directly ahead when you walked in the entranceway with a hostess station to the left of that. My friend and I came recently for a weekday lunch and chose to sit in one the dining rooms as opposed to outside on the patio. A lunch menu and beverages menu were handed to us upon seating. A prix fixe section was on the bottom center of the page. It consisted of a starter, entree, and dessert for $39. It looked good on paper, however I was very disappointed in the choices (two salads, two entrees, three desserts). Notice that a starter wasn't even listed as an option, only salads. We each decided on a different sandwich from the five available selections. Mine was the Ember Seared Spicy Tuna Sandwich that consisted of furikake, spicy aioli, cucumber, pickled onion, avocado, radish sprouts, and butter lettuce on a brioche bun. A market lettuce or triple cooked fries with truffle pepper ketchup (my pick) were offered as a side with the sandwich. I requested the spicy aioli to be provided in a separate cup for dipping which I am glad I did. The sauce would have ruined the seared tuna fillet with too much spiciness. For fries that were triple cooked, they were not hot and crispy as expected. I suspect they may have been sitting around at room temperature for a while. Based on the price and quality of my lunch, it was a mediocre experience for a flagship restaurant of an upscale golf course.

We have been fortunate enough to visit exceptional restaurants in several countries, including throughout Europe, as well as renowned five-star restaurants in Mexico. However, the service we received last night deserves special recognition. Our server, Brian O'Malley, executed every stage of service with a level of excellence that is difficult to find today. His attention was impeccable, professional, warm, and perfectly coordinated. He was always present at exactly the right moment without ever being intrusive, carefully attending to every detail and making us feel genuinely well cared for. The quality of the food was extraordinary, but Brian's hospitality elevated the entire experience to another level. At a time when people often speak only about the establishments themselves, I believe it is equally important to recognize the individuals who make it possible for an evening to become an unforgettable memory. We understand it gets busy, so waiting for a table and walking around until we get a text has never been an issue. The problem is the inconsistency. Almost every visit, something seems to go wrong. I've found hair or random pieces of food in my meal, or my food has arrived completely cold. We try to be understanding because we know the restaurant is often packed, but it's still disappointing. Even when something is remade, it usually takes another 20 minutes or more. The service is just as inconsistent. Sometimes the staff is friendly and helpful, but other times they seem visibly irritated when there's an issue with the food. On our most recent visit, our server barely checked on us at all. After our food was dropped off, no one came back to see how everything was, refill drinks, or check in before we paid and left. On top of that, we walked out with her saying anything to us or smiling at us, which felt weird. We really do love this place, which is why it's so frustrating to leave disappointed so often. The restaurant is loud and crowded, and it's clear the staff is under a lot of pressure. That said, being busy shouldn't mean guests receive cold food or find hair in their meals. We hope the restaurant can improve its consistency, because we'd love to keep coming back.

Places like the restaurant below were closing when their times were supposed to be open still. Kitty and Nate were awesome with their customer service! Super nice and accommodating, even when the food was a little too spicy for my mom. There were things like the drinks they made differently to accommodate for what we were looking for. Love the ambiance and the food was great. Whoever commented on having a midlife crisis, karmas going to kick your ass when you are that age. At least the owner has something going for themselves & has been really creative in the whole experience.

I've been here twice in the past week for happy hour and it's sooo good every time…read more The happy hour is Mon thru Thursday every week from 3-5 pm. I don't quite remember the prices but I think everything priced was fair/good value seeing as their food and cocktails are amazing and very high quality. I love the chicken gochujang sandwich. It is sweet, tangy, spicy, and the perfect portion. It is part of their happy hour but also their regular menu so it's great that I can enjoy at a discount. The happy hour was house cocktails only, but they do them really well. Their original cocktails are fun, delicious, and one of a kind. I tried a few and you can't go wrong. Lastly, the bartenders and servers are exceptional. They are kind and fun and definitely help to make the experience and environment a lot more enjoyable. I really enjoy this place and look forward to coming many more times and bringing more friends and family in to enjoy as well!

We had a fantastic service with our server Carmella who was very knowledgeable of the menu and so friendly! She explained a lot of options for my vegan diet and accommodated my request. My pasta penne checca was great , but my 2 friends had the Cioppino and they said it was bland... but we all had a great time with the overall experience! I wanna repeat the service was outstanding and the ambience was great!!

She greeted us with a big smile and checked us in our reservation. We were seated in the outside patio overlooking the beach. It was a beautiful view. The server came to greet us right away. He ask what we wanted to drink and afterwards told us the special menu for the night. First we started with the appetizers. We had the Fritto di Calamari e gamberretti and the Carpaccio di manzo. The calamari and rock shrimp were soft and crunchy. The batter was flavorful but subtle and the marinara sauce tied it altogether. We loved the filet mignon carpaccio. It was tender and rich. The cheese, capers and arugula provided a great balance to this dish. For our entree, we had the spaghetti portofino, Pappardelle con funghi e Capesente and Cappellaci di Manzo. When our food came we could not believe how huge their portions are. One entree is equal to 2 entrees and it makes sense because the price is up there. The Portofino, had huge amount variety of seafood and the scallop and jumbo prawn stood out which was placed on top of the dish. Wish they did have more spaghetti, but we were happy with it. All the seafood was cooked perfectly. Soft and tender and the pesto sauce was more like a little bit of marinara and pesto. The Parpadelle was cooked with just the right texture and the different types mushroom had full of Umami flavors. You can tell they make their own pasta. The 2 huge scallops in the sides were cooked just right, tender and just delicious! This was to die for. The Carpellaci was amazing!!! The hat-pasta was full of braised prime short rib and the porcini cream sauce with aged asiago and black truffles really excelled this dish. The sauce was creamy and just bursting with great flavors. All of these dishes were outstanding!!! Ofcourse none of us finished our entree. We were stuffed half way. We were not disappointed!!! We had plenty of leftovers. Also the bus boy and the servers really took care of us. Our water was always filled up. At the end they served my hubby with a birthday cannoli with a candle. We all got a taste of his birthday dessert and wow this cannoli is fantastic. It's a great way to end the evening! If you're heading to Carlsbad, this place is a wonderful restaurant to spend a special occasion or a celebration to the end of your vacation.
