All in all a lovely experience at 20twenty. We stayed at the Westin Hotel and enjoyed an early convenient dinner on property here. All the staff were friendly, kind. Our server Tamara was a bit slow. Slow to greet us after we sat down, slow to check on us after our entrees arrived and slow to get us the bill. The food was phenomenal. Crab cakes--a must. Wedge salad-- everyone loved including a kid who doesn't really like soft cheeses. Wagyu burger-- pricey but worth it. Kiddo only had half until he was stuffed. Hubby and I shared the ribeye 16 oz . I'm not a huge meat eater. I probably had a quarter. The steak was crusted very well, cooked to perfection, flavored well. The mash potatoes it came with complemented the steak perfectly. Beautiful ambiance with gorgeous lighting, draping, floors made it feel elevated comfort. There is a beautiful patio as well. Beautiful sunset visible with all the lighting through the windows. Feedback: ask if your guests are celebrating anything special.

"Ooh, well, I've got a girl with a record machine When it comes to rockin' she's the queen But she lives on the 20th floor uptown The elevator's broken down" (Eddie Cochrane) 20|Twenty is the house restaurant at the Westin Carlsbad. You can enter it direct from the hotel lobby or via an exterior entrance close to the main hotel entrance. It features a large and beautiful dining room, stylish bar and ample seating outside to enjoy the outstanding Southern California weather. We had two breakfasts here. We ordered off the menu on day one and ate outside, and we ordered their Weekend buffet ($25) on day two and ate inside. Both breakfasts were made extra special by our wonderful server Digna. We were so lucky to enjoy her fun personality, engagement, and overall charm on both mornings. On Day One, I ordered something I had seen on menus for years, but never tried before. My Chilaquiles ($22) were" a savory bowl of Boraccho beans, queso fresco, avocado, eggs, red onion, bathed in a guajillo chile sauce". I thanked Digna who taught me how to pronounce it. I loved the taste- the sauce and the tortilla wedges, sliced avocado, and egg. What a feast. On Day Two I went with the buffet and went straight to the big pile of smoked salmon, red onion slices, chive cream cheese and mini bagels. The salmon was high quality thinly sliced, just the way we like it. The buffet also had everything you want in a buffet- hot dishes, pastries, yogurt, and fruit. The fruit was great-plenty of watermelon, assorted melons, and berries. I did find it odd that when I went to toast my bagel, I saw they only had one toaster with four slots. Unfortunately, the two left slots did not work, so restaurant patrons were lining up to toast their breads one at a time. I mentioned this to one of the staff, and his response was "Yeah, we know." Anyway, that indifferent reaction was more than counterbalanced by the fantastic food and Digna's 1,000-watt personality. And what's the origin of Digna's unique name? I asked her and she said her mother named her after a street in her home town.

We had a great bar experience and to-go dinner here. We were staying at the Hotel Solea next door and decided to call in an order to go for dinner and hangout at the bar while we waited. Overall, the drinks and the food were good! When we headed in, we just let them know we were there for a pick up and to sit at the bar while we waited. From the time we called it in from when the food arrived at the bar, it was about 30ish min. After sitting at the bar, it took quite a while to be acknowledged. There were 2 other customers at the bar and the bartender who was there was really only tending to them and drinks made from other tables, she looked at us but that's about it. Eventually another person came over and let us know they would be with us soon. He seemed like he may have been a little newer (or not in the bar part too often), but he was super nice and our drinks came out great! He was a joy! Once the food was ready, we closed everything out and headed back to our room. For food we got the brick chicken, the mac and cheese, and the artichoke hearts. The chicken was pretty good, I'm always worried roast chicken will be greasy but this wasn't too bad. The mac was the highlight for me, and the artichokes were pretty tasty. Overall the food and drinks were good, service at first was a little lacking, but they got it together in the end.

Great old fashioned

Felix makes an incredible Old Fashioned. It's clear he's got a specialty here because the bar was packed with people waiting specifically for his cocktails. The presentation alone shows the care that goes into it: fresh mint, house-made garnishes, and a perfect big ice cube keeping the drink cold without watering it down. If you're at the Westin Carlsbad, find Felix behind the bar and order his Old Fashioned. Worth the wait!

My friends and I came here for Sunday brunch. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and we were seated in a quiet private area. We were a little disappointed that the lunch menu was not offered on a Sunday, so we settled for brunch. I ordered an omelette with poblano, mushroom, and spinach. The order came with a side of roasted potatoes and toast. I was pleased with my dish. The food quality was very good, but service was extremely slow. It took our server over 30 minutes to finally take our orders. We were a party of 8, which wasn't too big. Food for everyone came out at a decent time; however, they must've forgotten my dish because I had to wait a good 10 minutes while my friends already received their food. The server never refilled our water cups and it took forever for him to bring our check.

Great and fast service every time we've been in. The servers are professional and friendly, and the bartenders are genuinely fun to chat with. The menu has a lot to choose from, and everything we've ordered has been tasty and cooked just right. Highly recommend!

TLDR: clean, casual spot conveniently located inside the Westin Carlsbad, decent service, indoor/outdoor seating. Dinner and most breakfast items are average and overpriced, but the build-your-own omelette is surprisingly good and worth ordering. We stayed at the Westin and found this restaurant right downstairs, which was super convenient, especially since we had breakfast vouchers from the hotel ($22 per person). The space is clean, airy, and has a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were friendly, though service varied depending on who you got. We stopped by for some light bites one evening and ordered fries, crab cakes, and drinks. Fries were very average, 2/5, and crab cakes were big, just not memorable. Drinks were fine, nothing stood out. For breakfast, day one was a bit disappointing. I had the All-American breakfast, which came with eggs, meat, roasted potatoes, and toast, small portions, and pricey for what you get (2.5/5). My husband's waffle was nearly $20 and just okay, though the jam and granola with yogurt were nice touches. Day two, we both ordered the build-your-own omelette, and that turned things around; it was fresh, flavorful, and much more satisfying. If you eat here, skip the basics and go straight for the omelette.

We opted for the outdoor seating area which offers a nice nearby-ocean breeze compare to the strong AC blasting indoor. Service was slow for breakfast but it could be just our table as I saw others were served much faster than us. Our son's cereal and milk which I wouldn't think need much time to prepare were served after we had already gotten our food. For our food, we got the following: Portobello egg Benedict (4/5)- love that they have this option available for those who do not want English muffins/bread. The eggs were made to perfection and we really liked the flavor earthy of the mushroom and nice balance from the spinach. They could use a bit less oil though... the dish comes with roasted potato which wasn't bad but nothing to rave about. Lox & Bagel (1.5/5) - highly disappointed when the bagel came out. It was nicely assembled but that was it. It was served on a huge plate with just half a bagel and salmon (lox) and fixing on top. Nothing else. We appreciate the generous portion of the lọx but the bagel itself was terrible - my husband called it "hard as a rock" when he took his first bite. We had a hard time cutting it into smaller pieces to eat. It was barely toasted and the bread itself looks like it's undercooked and is extremely dense. I wish they serve it with some veggies on the side, for the meal balance and also the presentation. For our morning elixirs, my husband got the Green Monster (4/5) and I got the Kale-ifornia (5/5) Both are great drinks to start our day. I love my Kale-ifornia, earthy, clean and ends with a kick at the end with the gingery note after each sip. It has a juice consistency, while the Green Monster is more of a smoothie. Unfortunately Green Monster came out warm so that kind of killed the vibe and the taste. It would be 5/5 if it was cold. Also keep in mind they only offer coffee when we were there for breakfast, no latte or cappuccino. We had breakfast at 7 Mile kitchen next door the day before and they did offer other coffee drinks so it was another disappointment with 20|Twenty.

Pillow talk

We were staying across the parking lot at another hotel, but went each night for a nightcap. Kristina made the best drinks I have ever had, an espresso martini & a drink she created herself that she called "Pillow talk". Would definitely go back anytime we are in San Diego

We put ourselves on their online waitlist but was sat immediately when we arrived. I really liked the vibes around this place. It feels like you're really at home. The drink came out first and was absolutely delicious! The caramel apple paired well with the matcha flavor. Our food took about 10 minutes even though for the restaurant being really crowded! I took a bite of the bacon and it was super crispy and warm. It was delicious! The bacon here is definitely a must try! I then had the homemade jam with my English muffin and that was delicious as well! Now for the hash... that was absolutely delicious! Paired with the crispy bacon, it was warm on a small skillet bowl and would definitely get it again if I come by around the area! Overall my meal was around $35 which included the hash, side of bacon and the drink which was a fair price for what came out. Fun Fact: "Manna" means an unexpected blessing, especially in a time of need! Atelier Manna was…read morecreated by Michelin-rated Chef Andrew Bachelier and his wife Larah as a creative workshop where food, art, wellness and community all come together. - Located in Leucadia, Atelier Manna is definitely not your typical brunch spot. It feels part restaurant, part art studio, part wellness experiment, and I mean that in the best way. The space is intimate and eclectic, with cookbooks, ceramics, artwork, salvaged materials and little pieces collected from the owners' travels throughout the space. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into making it feel personal rather than overly polished. Parking is do-able across the street by train , or on the street or surrounding neighborhoods. Best time to come when its not busy is W or TH morning! And then there's the food. We started with the Turkish eggs, soft poached eggs sitting over herbed yogurt, chili garlic butter and herbs with toast. The combination of the cool, tangy yogurt with the garlicky, slightly spicy butter was SO good. The toast is basically mandatory because you're going to want to swipe up every last bit of that sauce. P.S. dish comes with two eggs but you can order an extra egg if you have more people. The steak & tortilla was another standout. Snake River Farms zabuton steak with Spanish tortilla, black garlic romesco and Jimmy Nardello peppers. The steak was tender and cooked beautifully, but what really made the dish for me was the black garlic romesco. Rich, savory and slightly sweet, it tied everything together. And then came the torrija, Spanish-style French toast. This is not your basic brunch French toast. It's made with thick-cut sourdough, saffron vanilla, peach leaf oil, stone fruit and whipped labneh. The outside had that delicious caramelized/crispy texture while the inside was soft and custardy. The labneh was also such a good addition because it gave the dish a little tang to balance out the sweetness. Definitely a dish I'd order again. But we can't forget the drinks because Atelier Manna takes their non-alcoholic beverage program VERY seriously. Their "vitality tonics" are basically zero-proof cocktails with a wellness twist, and they are way more interesting than your standard juice or mocktail. I got the Mentawai: coconut, cold-infused green tea, lime leaf, pandan and astragalus, force carbonated. Light, refreshing and slightly tropical with enough acidity to keep it from tasting like straight coconut water. My friend got the Goldenrod, made with clarified cucumber, turmeric, honey and long pepper. Very refreshing and earthy with a little sweetness. Another friend went with the cold brew, which was smooth and fruity with a creamy body. I really appreciated that the drinks weren't just an afterthought. They actually felt like part of the experience. Overall, Atelier Manna is one of those places where you can tell the people behind it genuinely care about the details. The menu is creative without feeling like it's trying too hard, the space is unique and inviting, and the food manages to be indulgent while still incorporating a lot of fresh, thoughtful ingredients. Definitely a brunch spot worth the drive up to Leucadia, especially if you want something a little different from the usual eggs + mimosa situation.
