Delicious donuts made with fresh ingredients, I must be at Sourpuss Donuts. On this visit I tried four different flavored donuts and each one was incredibly tasty. The medium roast coffee was equally satisfying. This is a fairly new addition to the area offering small batch donuts, coffees, kombuchas and savory items for breakfast or lunch. Behind the counter there's a friendly smile from a staff member serving up your order. There's plenty of seating in the patio, store front or at a bistro table inside. Give your taste buds a treat and stop in at Sourpuss Donuts.

Sourpuss Donuts is the best donut spot in SD! From the farmers markets to brick and mortar, this is the spot! Also- they are the only sourdough donuts in the city. The texture is perfectly pillowy and flavor choices are creative and delicious. These donuts are made with 0 seed oils and the ingredients are fresh and high quality. Drive over ASAP and get yourself a box and head to the beach and stuff your face. The owners are wonderful people and this is a small business to truly support.

The food has that made-from-scratch feel to it, and is always fresh and high quality. I've had breakfast and lunch here and haven't left a crumb behind either time. I loved the waffle with berries for breakfast, and the veggie sandwich at lunch time. I also LOVED the drink menu-- had the best matcha latte with housemade syrup (passionfruit I think?) and a really delicious old fashioned caramel latte. Some people might consider the downside of a place like this to be the small kitchen, as it can impact wait times and the kitchen's ability to accommodate specific requests. However!! I think this just makes the experience more special-- having to slow down and savor a dining experience instead of rushing from place to place is truly a treat. Although not always speedy necessarily, I've had amazing service every time I've visited here. On one occasion we had longer wait times for our food and were treated with a delicious cake at the end of our meal. On another, we had a very minor snafu happen where a server was adjusting an umbrella and accidentally knocked something over on the table next to us-- the staff comped all of our meals out of consideration which was just so generous and understanding. Overall I can't recommend this place enough! They have so many fun menus and specials. I can't wait to try their Peasant night in a few weeks. Grateful to have this spot in the neighborhood!

Coffee and lemonade were delicious. Service was hit or miss - good when we got things to go but lacking when we ate in. Definitely on the slower side and honestly not very pleasant. Food was okay. We got a relish tray to go which was good (hard to mess up pickled veggies though) but seemed like a small portion for the cost. For breakfast I got the breakfast tacos - they're more like tostadas though since the tortilla is fried. It was good, not phenomenal. My friend got the avocado toast. It was toasted slices of baguette with avocado on them, rather than one or two larger pieces of toasted bread. Toppings looked good but the toast was about 20 seconds from being actually burnt - very hard without anything close to a soft inside (my friend said it cut up her mouth - she couldn't even finish the last piece). Maybe some of their other dishes are better or maybe dinner would have been a better choice. I'd probably go again for convenience sake, but I wouldn't recommend making a special trip out to try it if you're not already in the area. TLDR; coffee is good, food is okay, service hot or miss. Go if convenient, otherwise likely isn't worth a special trip.

It tasted more like water and oil than anything else, really bummed out. The man candy was good, but I expected it to be crispy, mine was super soggy and floppy. My Mexican mocha was frickin fantastic, it's the perfect sugary sweet morning drink, not very coffee strong. My friend got an espresso martini that was also super good. The service was alright, we were seated right away, but every time we needed something or were ready to order or pay the waiter went to everyone but us, it was like he was avoiding us. Not the biggest deal, but it got to be a bit frustrating. The place itself is actually really cute, the liberty station one is outdoor, with big open window areas, great on a super nice day, shaded so you aren't in direct sun, but then allowing airflow and you feel like you are outside. I am going to go again, I have heard their French toast and pancakes are awesome, just feel like I ordered the wrong things.

Plus, they have a joke of the day that you can ask the cashier for. We stopped by for a sandwich and scoop of ice cream before our trip to the beach. My man got a huge turkey sandwich that he said was awesome although it is a little bit pricey for a turkey sandwich.... But hey, they've got to pay rent for that big space somehow! I love the ice cream selection. They are using ice creams from a Wisconsin creamery. I got a scoop of the lemon and blackberry and it was not only delicious but they gave me a huge scoop for $6 Great value there. I wasn't going for coffee today, but they do have a little upgraded coffee bar corner. They carry a lot of looseleaf teas, they have a pastry case and their coffees are roasted by a local roaster, Ryan Brothers. It looks like they've got a five tap system for nitro and cold brew coffees also but only two of them had handles on them. Look like the other three were out or maybe they just haven't brought them on yet. Very pleased with the upgrades to the space. It's so cute and cheery. I can see myself chilling there. Much better than their only previously available seating which was on the patio on the side of the building. This is a place I would return to for sure if I'm in the area.
